Hehe sorry! I am only in this forum, so I forgot there was a General and so on =)
Eventually, I would like to.
But the Note 3 has priority for me at present. (My S3 really is too bloody small.) After that it'll be about a year before I can afford to buy another piece of tech.
And by then the TF702 will probably be out.
No, it is not interesting update, at the moment samsung note 10.1 is much better.
I was going to, but with the latest Cromi-X 5.0.2 my tablet is so smooth I'm not sure there's really much that the new TD701 offers. Might be a better gamer, but I use my tablet for weatherapps, browsing and forums, and currently my TF700 is doing all of that with no lag or issues, so why waist my money?
I have a buyer for my tf700 so I may buy the tf701 but I really fancy the Asus Transformer Book but that will depend on the price.
I'll be upgrading from my TF101.
I hope there will be an active development community and a dedicated XDA forum for it.
I sell my TF700, and i never will choose an Asus Tablet again.
Very, very bad tablet, the problem with the Internal Drive (slowest) i will never apologies this.
My next tablet Nexus 10 (2013 Q4) will be released at the same time that Nexus 5.
It will be cheap, fast and the most important it will be supported by the core Android team.
The Tegra 4 design should not have the I/O bottleneck issue. $400 for a T4 with super HD display and 32GB internal, plus micro sd slot seems better buy than a non SD slot Nexus. Still, Tegra 4 runs hot as indicated by the Toshiba and the Shield's throttle issues- in spite of having a fan. I wonder what form of heat dissipation design is ASUS using? Seems logical a passively cooled device with a hotter running Tegra 4 pushing a super high res display will get real hot.
A soon as there is active development (preferably a CROMI-X version) on the TF701: Probably.
I would love to use my TF700 for testing, experimenting and learning. Stuff I would not do to my daily driver.
But the TF701 on stock would have to be stellar to tempt me.
Nexus? No external storage is a deal breaker.

I will wait for people to review the TF701T and the soon-to-be-announced new Padfone Infinity. I love the keyboard dock, but I also like the idea of having my phone and tablet as the same device. The new Padfone Infinity is rumored to support microSD card.

Huh? Afaik the Nexus 10 was made by Samsung so it's highly possible that the new version will be made by Sammy too.
Nexus 7 (2012) = Asus
Nexus 7 (2013) = Asus
Nexus 4 = LG
Nexus 10 = Samsung
Nexus 5 = LG once again? some rumours seems to confirm that, but who knows...
The TF701T is just an improved Android tablet, but the Intel Bay Trail based T100 could be interesting.

Yes I know the Roadmap, but for the new Nexus 10 it also still a rumor. And it looks like it's going to be Asus.
And on a side note. I don't like Samsung products. Over 5 years there will be less android/Samsung devices. But more Tizen/Samsung.
http://www.technobuffalo.com/2013/08/10/asus-nexus-10-inventory-image/
As each Nexus don't have expandable memory I will never buy a 10" from Nexus.
As for the Transformer Trio. It's an awesome idea. And I like it. The only thing would be the price. When there is a Windows logo on it. The price is $1.000 +. And I already have a good laptop. So would be a waste of money.

the transformer it's the better one from those on the list, I think, but maybe the new ipad would be even better
The Asus Transformer line of tablets are really the tablets to beat on the Android side. The iPad 2 is good pick if you're well invested in the iOs ecosystem and things like animation and general UI smoothness are well done, but it's much more lockdown than Android.
the transformer it's the better one from those on the list
if u dontmind about colour saturation better take motorola xoom it have 32gb internal memory and microsd slot ... camera 5 mp honeycomb tegrak
Transformer!
I would highly recommend any of the ASUS transformer tablets because ASUS is an excellent company/brand in all products that they make and they truly deliver on their tablets as well.
I personally prefer Android because you can do pretty much anything with it! iOS is meant to "just work", however that means you're VERY limited in what actually can work.
Generally with Android, if you can think it, you can do it (and as cheesy as it sounds, there's usually "an app for that" to make it easier).
Thanks guys. But now I need to decide on a PC.
Asus amd athlon II X2 processor essentio computer
Lenovo pentium processor ideacentre
Asus tablets are great, but they all lack the 3G option. Wifi only isn't much of a use when you plan to use your table on the move and everywhere. Consider this before you make your choice...
As for a pc, I wouldn't choose AMD even if it was the only choice.... More than ten years now in computer support, I have seen many ugly sights of AMD machines...
Lately it seems to work best Pentium processors, AMD seems to be running a little behind

I would get the Asus in a heartbeat. The docking station alone make it worth it.
I've used iOS for years on iPhone and iPad and I would not going back there.
But that's just me
Tranformer pad is a good option but the new transformer line with 1080p screens is releasing soon so it may be worth holding out for a bit
Hi I'm also looking for a tablet,
the Asus transformer prime looks pretty good but it has no 3g right ?
Take Ipad 2, much better than android
Wysyłane z mojego GT-I9000 za pomocą Tapatalk 2
I've had hands on with my friend's Asus and I was really impressed. Nothing bad to say about it and they resisted the temptation of screwing with the OS which is always nice.
...Asus Transformer (Infinity)! FTW!
I would take the iPad 2. I just think that iOs is, for now, better with tablets than android. But on android, Transformer is the best.
Motorola xoom or galaxy tab
Hi all
Just after a few opinions on which tablet to buy.
I am looking at the TF300T, TF201 and the Acer A510. Anyone got any opinions on which one is best value for money?
I was drawn to the prime originally but the GPS and wifi issues put me off. I then got drawn to the cheaper transformer pad but have been reading that the Acer A510 is a better performer and has better battery life (for the tablet to tablet comparison anyway).
Can't make my mind up!
I am also wandering if its worth waiting a couple of weeks to see what is announced at Google I/O, nexus tablet maybe?
I would definitely wait and see what the Nexus Tab's specs and price are, but even if they are nice they won't compare to either of the tablets you're considering. Also IMO the TF300 is better in almost every way once you add the dock, most likely the battery comparisons you've heard have been just the TF300 v.s the Acer A510 but that doesn't factor in the TF300's keyboard dock battery. With the battery it slaughters the A510, and you wont find a productivity option this good anywhere else. Also having the dock add not only a battery and physical keyboard but it adds a full-size SD card slot and a full-size USB 2.0. I may be a bit biased but as long as you are planning on buying the keyboard dock with the TF300 its a no-brainer.
I would recommend the TF300 if you need a tablet soon. If not and you can afford it you might want to wait for the TF700. At one point I considered the Acer A510 also until I heard about the heat issues. I currently have 2 TF300's, one perfect 32gb, and a 16gb currently at Asus being repaired. And for my smaller tablet I have a Galaxy Tab 7.7. As far as 10" tablets currently available the TF300 is the way to go IMO.
Thanks for the replies.
In the UK you cant get the TF300 without the dock, at least not from a shop anyway!! You can import one or use a shady online e-tailer.
My problem is that I am getting fed-up of waiting. I have been lusting over an android tablet for months.
I think I may well have to wait and see what the nexus tablet is. i'm probably not interested if it is only a 7" version. Really want a 10" tablet myself.
I have a nexus S for my phone and definitely prefer the stock android experience and the very active development scene that goes with the Nexus line of devices.
May still end up giving in and buying a TF300 though!
Thanks all.

believe me, the TF300's Stock OS is as close to stock android as I've seen on a tablet for awhile, and if you're worried about it becoming outdated, this thing has top of the line specs and will last you for a good long while.
problem for you and me is there is always a better tablet coming in six months.. I bought the TF300 and like it so far. I love having the dock because I use pocket cloud remote desktop alot.
Unfortunalty I know I want a windows tablet when they become available and will prolly buy one too.. If you can wait then prolly when the one comes out you want now there will be a release for a new one and you will tell yourself, should I wait for THAT one?
Get the TF300 its nice.. If i wasnt using a dock though i would do the ipad. I like the screen format better for tablet use..
Just got home from work to find a check from the tax man for £430 so guess I'm gonna spend it on the TF300T then! Thanks everyone for your opinions.

You can't go wrong with the tf300, I just got mine last week and I love it. My brother has the tf101 and the 300 blows it out of the water. My wife has the 7in galaxy tab 2 and it is a great tablet, some of the best speakers of any tablet I've seen, but I like the larger screen. Before I made the plunge to a larger tablet, I had a nook tablet that I heavily modified and put ics on it, a great affordable beginners device.
The 300 is such an awesome device, my only complaint is that I didn't get one sooner.

I love my Infinity. It's the only possible replacement for my dearly beloved but aging Xoom.
I have had the TF101 AND TF201 and now I have the TF700T. Its the best unit of all of the Transformers tablets and very close to the iPad3 as far as what I ask of both of these tablets to do. I am also sure after the TF700T get the Jelly Bean upgrade that it will make the TF700T better than the iPad3, so much so I will be most likely putting my iPad3 on the eBay block. IMHO get the upgrade to the TF700T.

Much much smoother and fun experience
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
ilostmypistons: All Android devices are a smooth, and fun experience once you root them and get a custom rom on them. I am waiting out for the developing to begin. I owned the OG iPad, lamented the purchase afterwards, sold it, proceeded to purchase the OG Transformer, have not looked back at another tab since, followed ASUS. In my personal opinion as an Infinity owner, and previous OG/Prime owner, and it is only personal opinion certainly. ASUS defines the Android tablet experience, even if the devices have flaws at production. All devices have flaws, my Gnex has flaws, but while Samsung defines the premium Android phone experience, ASUS defines the tablet experience. Galaxy Tabs are nice, though they ultimately feel too 'phon(ish)' to me. I suppose if you are looking for a slightly limited device, with a highly diluted version of Android...tab away, to each their own, though ASUS defines it to me. The UI is not too heavily skinned, the Android is relatively pure (no less pure then a standard CM custom build) the hardware is intense, and I have used each of my tabs as a standard laptop replacement for about 97% of my online experience.
PS: Oh, and I have YET -knock on wood- to experience any of the defects people are mentioning in these forums, on my infinity, and the Prime defects, certainly not present. I have a C7 model, so relatively recent
PSS: All my own personal opinion, no flame war intended, to each their own lol
Had the tf101, have a tf700 now. Android feels pretty much the same as on the tf101 (same lag spikes when dragging the menu etc.), of course the performance in apps is better, the screen is better etc.
But one thing is bad: On the tf101 the release of the pad from the keydock was really easy. Snap and it´s off. On the tf700 i need some force to release it, it feels almost sticky. And yes, that was from day 1.

Bought the TF300, returned it for the TF700. Returned the TF700 as well. Android just isn't good on tablets - it's all lag city on every one of them. The Asus (or Tegra based) are the worst - more apps crash than normal.
On the Infinity I love the 1920x1200 HD screen. Makes for watching movies, reading and streaming so much more exciting and playing games are visually improved from your standard displays . Love the Super IPS+ , I can take it outside on a nice day and still be productive. The Camera is top notch on the Infinity! The best I've seen for a tablet device. Love the tablet Keyboard dock form factor with added battery life and more memory it has pretty much replaced my laptop. It can handle NTSF for the options of larger portable hard drives, that Windows consumer will love. Love the elegance look. I cant wait for Jelly Bean to hit. Fast updates is also very nice. It has its own issues just like any other tablet out in the market fortunately Asus has the quickest updates I've ever experienced. More then likely Infinity will get JB before Sammy.
So its really up to your needs. I love the Stylus on the Note. I'm an artist and would be nice to have something like that around when needed. Also the multitasking features of the Note is cool to! Infinity can do it as well but you will have to go to the Playstore and search for floating apps like Stickit or Overscreen. Although its hard to pry me away from all the features that I love about the Infinity. Both devices are powerful and fast. Maybe I'll just go buy the Note as well for my drawing needs....

Note has pen input
Samsung = high quality
open source, lots of custom roms
Odin = awesome
less expensive
overall very, very good tablet.
If you need a keyborad theres always bluetooth keyboards and i THOUGHT i saw a keyboard type dock tho not as awesome as the transformer's
Personally tho, i prefer the 700, i like that its thinner than the galaxy tab or note, i like the full sized keyboard dock with USB and SD slots, i like how its taken everything i throw at it and asked for more. I also love the extra battery life in the dock.
If you want the keyboard, go Asus. If your not going to use it that much, go Samsung.
I owned the tf 101 and the prime and now own the infinity. I think its awesome especially compared to the prime. I'm so glad best buy exchanged mine. I love the infinity. It's everything the prime should have been. I have zero issues with my infinity as well

As much as I like my tf300 I am tempted to sell it because;
1. Guaranteed quick android updates
2. Higher Res screen more so than ipad 3 and tf700
3. Limited use of dock besides charging, stand and USB data transfer

You should check out all the problems the Nexus 7 is having with screen lifts. Meaning, the actual screen comes out of the encasing and people are having to glue it back in. Remember, you always get what you pay for. Except with the TF300, that was quite a deal. And since it only came out in April and since that time we've been given an unlocked bootloader and Jelly Bean.

What do you plan on doing with your Asus? I might do the same but not really sure where i could sell this tablet for a decent price besides ebay since it's not very a very big product here in the UK.
On topic though, buying a nexus 10 would mean no tegra games (some are great IMHO) and the high screen resolution may be more taxing on the process i think. At least it wouldn't have I/O issues (probably) and would likely be quite fast. Time will tell i guess.

I was thinking about selling it on ebay also but I really dont want to let it go for less than 300gbp. Especially with all the fees ebay charge 10% + 10% paypal. So I am hoping to sell it on gumtree.
Tegra games are pretty awesome admittedly but the benefits of being nexus kinda outweight the little graphical advantages.
The i/o issue is dissapointing although it is better on some of the custom roms we really shouldnt have this problem.
Im assuming the processor will be pretty beefy hopefully to cope with the screen res but like you say time will tell. The deciding factor for me will probbly be price on the 'manta'. If it is around 400gbp for a 32GB version I will probably get it. Any more and it is unlikely.

The best solution would be to have both :victory:
I just bought this tablet and would sell it in a heat beat for a 10" Nexus tablet. It must be 32GB minimum I don't understand why all the Nexus branded devices are 16GB ONLY. I played with the N7 and really like it and i mean really like it and at the price point it was sweet. Three reasons why i went with the TF300 was because i got it for the same price as a Nexus 7, 10" screen and 32GB + Micro SD.
The reason why there isn't huge sale on the Nexus brand is do to storage limitations in my opinion, I would have bought the Galaxy Nexus rather then an hTC if it had 32GB or 16GB + Micro SD.
16GB non expandable memory is just unacceptable, they should do what apple does and charge a little more for more memory.
back on topic if the TF300 did not have I/O issues it would have been the perfect tablet, I can't believe Asus can get away with this BS and still sell in stores without fixing. Its understandable that the first gen TF300 had this issue but this should have been addressed a long time ago./
You were lucky to get the tf300 at nexus 7 price! I got 10% of retail price so paid £360.
Would love to be able to own the manta and tf300 but i cant justify two tablets when i also own a galaxy note!
Thanks for your opinions people i think im set on the new nexus 10 depending on price.

The best of TF300T is the dock: extra battery and keyboard !!
The gap between the new Nexus 10" and the old TF300T is great in hardware speed, but... really we really need it ?
I dont´t think so, if the TF300T have a nice CM10 rom with the lastest kernel...could be enough for me.
Not me.
My next tablet/notebook hybrid will likely be a Windows 8 machine. Whether RT or Pro I don't yet know. Whether the new ASUS tablet or one of the Samsung ones, I don't yet know either.
The TF300 showed me just how awesome this form factor could be. I love it. But the truth is I use it in fundametally different ways from the way I use my 7" HTC Flyer tablet. And the ways I use it it just makes more sense to buy a Windows device.
Now, my next phone will be an Android phone and my next 7" tablet likely a Nexus 7. So I won't be abanding Android at all. I'll just be using what I see as the right tool for the job.
Is there any windows tablet with keyboard for about £400? They all seem quite pricey. Also, the review i read for the surface wasn't very positive.

I really want this tablet but there is a problem, I live in Belgium I've been to many stores: all the ****ing same thing:
Sorry this device is no longer sold!
Does this mean there is coming a new transformer?
Thanks,
Noahvt

Well my thread in general section covers this.
Basically is not confirmed but it's highly likely that Asus will reveal a new transformer at Computex

They don't have the dock, but since you can use the TF201 dock as well, (which most stores probably still sell, at least here they do) you could look for one of those. (I'd reccommend the TF201 dock over the tF700. It has a bigger battery.)
I somehow doubt they'll announce a new transformer. Unless the Tegra 4 is included, NOTHING will be upgraded enough to warranty a new device release. Unless you want to buy the crap W8 RT, of course. The teaser is for a 7" tab. (look at the size in correlation to the pen.)

I'm not so sure. Time will tell
Thing is the memo pad HD is widely known, the trader showed a combo of windows and android.

I'm from belgium and have an infinity since it's release. You can buy it from Amazon.de or fr (de have often cheaper prices) or from fnac.fr. Did you looked at the fnac or at the mediamarkt. Last time I checked it was there. If Asus was releasing a new transformer, the tab would be in discount. For exemple when the tf700t was released, the tf201 was still there, but at a lower price. From what part of belgium are you?

Given that Nvidia appears to be having some major power consumption/stabilisation issues with their Tegra 4 SoC, it's highly unlikely it will be used for another Transformer. So we either have to wait for Tegra 5, or wait for Asus to start and finish lengthy research and negotiations with ARM.
I've found another store called: saturn
They have it there with dock!
Btw; I don't really care a lot about a bigger battery in dock!

Saturn is in the same group as mediamarkt. I don't know why they made 2 name for such similar shop. I think it's a marketing strategy, they want to let us think that the tow shop are fighting each oder so they catch the eyes of everybody. But the prices are good, the service is fine but I would rather go in vandenbore (but the prices are very high) for a good service.

Media Markt is Saturn's "discount shop". You'd be surprised how many stores are actually using that business formula.
Frankly, I have always prefered Saturn over Media Markt. (For one, the refreshing lack of moronic employees. For laughs, go ask the average Media Markt computer-department employee what a CPU is. I've had answers ranging from "That light on the front" to "The button that turns on the computer." )

Well f*ck me, looks like you were right. I stand corrected. http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/3/43...sformer-pad-infinity-with-2560-x-1600-display
It sounds crap, though. Only 32GB, no MicroSD (so far), a 2560x1600 resolution.... And the known to have serious power-managament flaws Tegra 4. (it's said to be unable to properly regulate power distribution when used intensively. For gaming, video, streaming, etc...)
Even with 2GB RAM, unless they specifically fixed the I/O issues, this tablet is going to be even more sluggish than ours at that resolution. Especially if it doesn't have a MicroSD, which renders about 90% of our solutions void... Free RAM isn't the issue, we have plenty of that... (I still have 460MB unused left.)
And if one thinks there's already a serious lack of supported apps for the TF700's 1920x1200, imagine what'll happen when you have the ONLY 2560x1600 + Tegra 4 tablet on the market... From a company that refuses to pay bribe money to greedy companies. (EA, Ubisoft/Gameloft...)

No huge change with this new version. The only change is the the screen (but who cares when you can already watch 1080 movies at full resolution) and a better cpu, but with the i/o problems, it won't help. I rate you to wait, try booth and see if it's worth the extra price.

Don't have the money for a new tablet anyway, so I can wait Four/five years ago we didn't even think we'd have these kinds of tablets at all
True.
Just checked how much the TF700 used is selling for. only around 270£ or 400$ not worth it I dont think
I think it's worth waiting until august if you don't have a tab yet. But unless you're very rich don't buy it if you have the infinity. I think I'll wait 2 more years before upgrading, if my tab can play high-res movies and run office.
Unless I win the lottery. If I do, I buy a new infinity to everyone in this topic (€100M next week)

I'm going to remember that promise!
I agree though, CROMI speeds make the tablet perfectly functional. It's obviously frustrating not having the 'latest and greatest' device but thats technology.
Just hope the ASUS doesn't forget about the current Infinity.
What is interesting is how compatible firmwares will be etc, obviously it's not likely due to the change up to Teg 4 but still.

Please do, I wouldn't mind getting one!
Haha, seriously though: for me personally, the new infinity probably isn't worth the extra cash. I already have a snappy device that does what I want it to do and has root access, so I am free to do what I want on a FHD screen.
What more could you ask for from a (one year-old) tablet?
