Crazy Battery, can't figure out why. - Droid Ultra Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So usually on a work day, my phone will sit in my car for 13 hours without being touched. By the end of the day when I go to bed, I'll be around 80% to 83% battery.
Today I noticed a couple hours after I got hoe that I was at 31%. For the record, this is a Maxx. I have two different wakelock detectors installed on my phone but I can't find anything that indicates what went haywire today. The Battery section in Settings just says it was "Android OS".
Here are some screenshots of the screens. Do any of you see anything I'm not? I have no idea what the culprit was.

Could point to poor cell service reception but it sounds like the phone was in the same place as other days.

Maybe you could try airplane mode if you notice it happening again ?

Yeah, same place it always sits at when I'm at work.

My battery life has been no where near as good as it was my first few days as well.

Reboot it. Something is stuck on.

Disable location reporting as well that's a large killer

Battery power horrible!

This is horrible. Screen in time is maybe and hour and 50 mins. I love ktonnsez kernel and cm10 stable release. Kernel settings:
Max:1728 Min:192 Governor:ktoonservative io:noop disabled the touch boosters. Screen off profile mhz:384 screen off profile governor:ktoonservative.
What am I doing wrong?

Well, you over clocked your phone. That will do it. And the battery stats look normal.

And do you have Account Syncs turned on? If so, turn it off. Also, looks like you have Facebook running. Disable push notifications on that app. Better yet, get rid of it completely lol It sucks.

Completely just screwed up my reply... Sorry about that.

Actually you need to up your screen of clock. That low and the CPU has to keep running with the screen off to finish up tasks so your phone can't go in deep sleep. Also use better battery stats because I'm guessing you have an app causing a wake lock.
Sent from my SCH-I535
I realize the over clock will brig the battery down. But the screen is what I'm confuzed about 40%? Is that normal? And it drains in 4 hours with maybe 50 minutes of screen on time. I'll try the Facebook and sync thing. But I have no idea why my battery would drain so bad just from the screen. I've never really experienced it on my incredible this bad. Same thing with the iphones and they suck.

If you dont have it get CPUSpy and make sure the phone is deep sleeping.
I just posted these in the CM10 thread, my phone right now about halfway thru my day, I run 1512 interactive cfq on stock kernel, 12/4 Nightly

battery damaged or what's wrong with my S3?

Hez guys. My baterry life is getting shorter and shorter. I closed all apps and it went from 100% to 47 over night. Made an Screenshot (sorry my system language is german) and why does it say it lost so much power cuz of the display? It was off 99% of the time
Greetings RoC
That's not display, my man. That's the android system. Something is running rogue. Go into settings>applications>slide over to running apps. See what is running. If it's something you don't use (or haven't in awhile) uninstall it and see what happens.
Something is running rogue. It may even be the media scanner. There are a lot of threads here talking about how to stop the media scan battery drain. I'd look into that and then download CPUspy from the market. Check to see if your phone is entering deep sleep.
Ya feel me?

Also, if you weren't using your phone that much, it would still show display near the top, here is why:
ANY time you use your phone, that is screen on time. If you look at your chart, you can see that only about 5 things are happening. Those percentages equal 100%. So let's say you were setting an alarm clock or geeking on the phone for a bit (while plugged in and charged) before bed, then that would be the majority of what you were doing. However, your OS is running always (it's what runs the phone) and is apparently doing some heavy work during your sleeping hours -- always running. Cell standby is normal.
Make sense?

Edit: what is your screen timeout? Do you have "screen on" while charging? Maybe your screen stayed on while you were asleep.

HTC ONE X Wont turn on, flashing home and back buttons

All of a suddon my htc one x wont turn on. When I plug it in I get a solid green charging light. When I hold power the home, back and recent apps buttons flash bright white, when I try recovery mode, power and vol down I get the same flashing home buttons. Any ideas, thanks.

press and hold power until the home, back and recent apps buttons flash bright white, I think 7 times? then they stop flashing and the screen goes black, let go of power and press and hold volume down until bootloader comes up.
Awesome
Wow. Thank you. I appreciate it and the fast response.

To be honest, I am not certain. Usually this occurs when the battery dies. I believe it's a bug of sorts.
It does that even when battery is at 60%.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I think you're the only one that happens to.
Sent from my Evita
Yeah I've had it when my battery dies, but never other times.
Actually I'm not. I have seen tons of ppl with my same issue
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk
Tons of people? I've only seen you report it happening without the battery actually dying. I've seen other people report it, but only when their battery dies fully. Can you provide some links to other people reporting it happening without the battery dying?
Sent from my Evita
I meant ten ppl..five of them are coworkers of mine
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk
Ok but I haven't even seen five other people report it the way you have here on XDA. I haven't even seen one other person report it the way you have here on XDA. I've read every single thread in our forum.

My battery isn't dying fully. It does this even when phone is on 60-70% really isn't a big deal..jw if me hav ing to hold power for a while til soft keys blink will do any damage or just isn't good

Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk
Even ten isn't right. You're the one single person that has reported their phone behaving in this manner. Having to hold the power button down isn't bad for the phone, all it's doing is performing a hard reset.

Either way, its an exaggeration and almost certainly not true. People here often say its the "same problem" when its in fact not the exact same issue, just something similar.
As mentioned, various forms of the power management bug have been reported. But your exact conditions seem fairly unique.

Gear 2 Camera is blurry

So I took a shower with my Gear 2 watch and even took some pictures. Now my camera is blurry. I've tried the rice for 24 hours thing and nothing. This was about 2 weeks ago. What can be the problem and is there a fix for it?
Someone please help.
This same thing happened to me. I don't believe it has anything to do with water. My gear 2 seemed to get stuck in macro mode. It would focus up close. Like an inch away but wouldn't focus at a distance. I ended up returning mine and the replacement is working fine. Search for my posts and you will see the thread. Another guy also had this issue and he was able to fix it by opening up the watch and messing with the camera module.

It's happening :(

Hey guys, I've been having some problems with occasional and sudden network signal drops. The bars just dissappear out of the blue and reappear just as sudden as they went.
Also, Bluetooth sometimes randomly disconnects.
Anyone with the same issues? I hope it's software.

I see similar stuff with network strength. I blame it on Sprint.
Has nothing to do with the network itself but the phone. I never had any problems with my s4. I hope it's software related...

I hope you're right. I can sit in my house and have only one bar, then, later, in the exact same spot, have 5 bars. I worry about what it means for my battery consumption.

You are assuming that things work all the time the same, they don't. Unless you have your S4 turned on with a sim in from the same network on the same setting, running at the same time to test, you cannot throw out "The network always used to be fine" as they do not always function the same in different areas at different times. Masts can have problems causing unusual network activity intermittently.

It'll be fine for battery, I have 1 or no bars randomly and sometimes full, in the same place. It's normal on most networks especially if the phone is switching between 2g/3g/4g/lte and standard network interference can also cause this.

I would say if it keeps up after a few days, especially the bluetooth, and you have no update waiting, it could be the phone.
