[RECOVERY][TF101][TF101G][SL101] TWRP 2.8.1.1 Unofficial [2014-11-06] - Eee Pad Transformer Android Development

Team Win Recovery Project 2.8, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.

concerning dd methods to clear a stuck flag and maybe flash a recovery blob if other methods aren't working for you, particularly if you attempted to use ROM Manager or certain versions of CWM or other programs to flash this recovery.

TWRP Custom Themes [10-10-2013]
I will use this post to post links to custom TWRP themes, both my own and any that users would like to provide me the links to in a PM. This first one is my first attempt at TWRP theming and is just a pretty basic, modified stock theme. It is based on the stock theme for 1280x800 devices. I know everyone won't like it, but it is my first stab at it. Have fun and if anyone would like some instructions for creating a custom theme, then hit me up with a PM and I'll try to help. It is not really difficult, just time consuming and tedious work. There are also links to guides on the twrp site for theming.
Instructions:
Just download, reboot to recovery (you are running TWRP recovery?), flash the theme zip file, reboot, and reboot to recovery again to see the results.

Awesome thanks a lot. I was wondering if you can do titanium custom zips with twrp? It seems i was not able to previously. Like flashing a user app or titanium itself?

Installed perfect!! Now waiting for KatKiss 4.3 v021
Thx for continuing to keep our beloved tf alive!!

I never had much luck with titanium zips myself. I'll have to give it a try sometime.

Thanks for taking this over man! Flashed it and it works perfeclty. Did a backup, full wipe, restore and it had no issues.

Is there anyway to have this app recognize the USB port (with a thumb drive) that's built into the keyboard attachment ?

Good jeez I need a third job just for donations! This is outstanding work man. Made a backup all good last night, and installing, wiping, fix perms seems work all fine for me as well. Thank you so very much for continue support in this awesome tab

Hey all,
I've got a small problem with this version of TWRP 2.6.1.0 that was not present in any of the previous version I've used. The problem is each time I use this version no matter what function is preformed (all works fine) when it comes to restart the system I am presented with the following screen:
*********************************************
*********************************************
Fix Superuser Permissions?
Root permissions appear to be lost.
Fix root permissions now?
(Fixes permissions on su binary & app)
<Do Not Fix>
>> Swipe to fix Root >>
*********************************************
*********************************************
I've have cleaned SurerSU on system and reinstalled it with no errors, but did not work.
I've downgraded to 2.6.0.0 but still not worked.
I've restored from a working Nandroid Backup but no joy (TWRP 2.5.0.0) and no more permission screens.
Any idea what is going on???

I've only ever seen anything about reinstalling supersu after I've formatted data ( and factory reset ) and am getting ready to reboot, as suggested, because, of course, I've just wiped it out and have no OS or anything installed. I've said yes and I've said no, without any issues either way, but that was previous versions and not this particular one. Maybe your root really was messed up? There was supposedly an updated supersu included in this version or 1 back I believe according to the change logs.

Did it work with any previous versions? I've not made any changes that would affect that functionality one way or the other, so if it worked before it should work now, if it didn't then it probably still won't.

Thanks sidneyk :good:
My root still functions flawlessly when using my TF101 no matter if I select Yes fix or No to the fix at reboot system. I now have restore the nandroid back up for earlier today as I have loads of changes that are not on my later backup. Now to look where ive found the download link to twrp2.5-tf101-unofficial.beta which works flawlessly
Cheers

Now even 2.5.0.0 is doing the same.
I have now since done the following:
Wiped Cache, Dalvik cache and System,
Flashed KatKiss 4.3 r2.2 #20 ROM'
Flashed Gapps,
Flashed KatKernel 107b,
Flashed TWRP 2.6.1.0,
Wiped Cache & Dalvik Cache
Rebooted with no fix root permission screen,
Rebooted in to recovery, (2.6.1.0)
Deleted older Nandroid Backups,
Created new Nandroid Backup,
when finished creating new backup I am now presented with the fix superuser permission screen,
Swiped to fix superuser,
Reboots and root works fine, (opened up SuperSU v1.60 and no error or updates to binary required, Opened Root Checker Basic v5.0.6 by Joes Krim and verified root access with no errors.)
Rebooted into recover again,
Fixed Permission's (Successful)
selected Reboot button and still taking to the Fix Superuser Permission screen again so Swiped to Fix and TF101 reboots with no screen output,
Again check if root is OK on system, which it is,
Reboot to Recovery again and when in recovery I select reboot then system,
Presented with the Fix Superuser Premission screen again so I select Do Not Fix,
Reboot to system to verify Root which is OK,
Reboot into Recovery for the last time and selected reboot then system which brings up the Fix Superuser screen again,
Swiped to fix, system reboots OK and user (me) gives up
Any Ideas

You can't flash TWRP together with a ROM as flashing TWRP will overwrite the staging partition and the ROM's kernel will then not get flashed. So first flash your ROM, gapps and katkernel, then reboot into your rom, then reboot into recovery to flash TWRP, then reboot again.

[Recovery] TWRP Recovery 2.7.0.x (recommended for 4.2.2)

Hi there, i'm starting here a discussion thread about Team Win Recovery Project 2.x for our HTC One SV.
Team Win Recovery Project 2.x, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It’s a fully touch driven user interface – no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. As long as i know it will work for k2_u and k2_ul (LTE), cause both have the same partition layout.
This recovery don't work for boost mobile users!
Notice:
This is not my work, i'm not the developer of it!!! I only start the thread here about it because the dev is a russian guy (and i don't know, if he is here at xda and if he speaks english language).
Please be sure what you are doing, when you flash it, bricks can happen and i am not responsible for damaged devices. Do at your own risk!

TWRP source was patched from https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/6283/
This patch allows the ability to take screenshots while in the recovery. It has not been merged over to the TWRP source yet so only unofficial builds at this moment will be seen with this feature.
To take screenshots while in recovery just press both the power key and volume down key. The screen will flash. It will naturally store the screenshot in your pictures folder of your sdcard if mounted in either your internal or external.
TWRP Changelogs:
Code:
[U]2.7.1.0
[/U]Built with custom kernel.
- [B]Removed custom theme and reverted back to stock theme.[/B]
- Add GUI option to change or repair file systems on individual partitions. The change is destructive so backup your data including internal sdcard first. This option should make it a little easier to migrate a device from ext4 -> f2fs, for instance. You will find this option under Wipe -> Advanced Wipe, then select only one partition and then press the Repair or Change File System button.
- Various bugfixes to backup and restore
- Improvements to USB storage handling
- Added a class to search for files to make finding the correct brightness file automatic in most cases
- Various other bugfixes and tweaks
[U]2.7.0.2d[/U]
Built with custom kernel.
- Added full SELinux support
- Completely removed HTC write protection.
[U]2.7.0.2c[/U]
Fixed init.rc to allow communication with binaries in /sbin.
TWRP 2.7.0.2c is built ready for SELinux, but the kernel is stock. Until they release the source I can't modify the kernel to support SELinux. This is really only needed for having 4.3+ roms but I want to include it in case the day comes and we see CM, AOSP, or possibly other sources.
[U]2.7.0.2b[/U]
Minor theme adjustment
Upgraded screenshot functionality throughout entire recovery
Note - version 2.7.0.2a screenshots are limited to only the main page
TWRP 2.7.0.2b is built ready for SELinux, but the kernel is stock. Until they release the source I can't modify the kernel to support SELinux. This is really only needed for having 4.3+ roms but I want to include it in case the day comes and we see CM, AOSP, or possibly other sources.
[U]2.7.0.2a[/U]
Built from CM11 and Omni 4.4 sources.
Extended backup options.
1. System
2. Boot
3. Cache
4. Data
5. Recovery
6. Misc
7. Firmware_radio
8. Firmware_q6
9. android secure
*** I think I listed them all ;)
Built in AromaFM.
Implemented screenshot functionality.
Added offmode charging.
Completely updated to fit with 4.2.2.
Includes Holofied Black Theme.
TWRP 2.7.0.2a is built ready for SELinux, but the kernel is stock. Until they release the source I can't modify the kernel to support SELinux. This is really only needed for having 4.3+ roms but I want to include it in case the day comes and we see CM, AOSP, or possibly other sources.
HTC Dumlock Instructions:
HTC Dumlock Instructions specifically for S-On users but S-Off users can use it as well if they choose to:
1. Install the build of TWRP using your method of choice, but you must actually flash TWRP to recovery.* No fastboot booting it.* We need it in recovery so that this build of TWRP will be flashed to your boot.* This new build of TWRP has features in it to easily restore your original boot.
2. Reboot into recovery.
3. Make a backup of your phone.
4. Tap Advanced.
5. Tap HTC Dumlock. (If you don't see HTC Dumlock then you need to remove any custom TWRP theme that you might be using.)
6. Tap Install HTC Dumlock.* This will install the app and binaries needed to make everything work nicely.
7. Reboot your device.
8. Find and open the HTC Dumlock app.
9. If/when prompted, give the app root (SuperUser) permissions.
10. Tap the Execute HTC Dumlock button.
11. Wait patiently for a couple of minutes.* It takes a little while.
If your device doesn't reboot automatically, reboot it manually.* Reboot it normally.* DO NOT reboot it to recovery.
You should now be in your recovery, but your recovery is flashed into boot.
12. Tap Advanced.
13. Tap HTC Dumlock.
14. Tap Restore Original Boot.
Use your recovery like normal.* Flash a new kernel.* Restore a backup with a different kernel.* Do whatever you please!

Thanks a lot!!
Thank you. Use it. Version 2.5.0.1 is made on the kernel 3.14.10-gf43d146.
Bootloader and boot restored only if you have S-OFF.

To sign in there is really painful if you don't speak the language, but as far as i know it does not work as long you are on google translation. The captcha i could only pass with a guy from another board who speaks russian.
The recovery shows 2.5.0.0 but the filename from download page was Recovery_TWRP_2.5.0.1_HTC_ONE_SV.img so i think it is the same.
Kernel can be found here.

And the last question , can i flash the kernel without installing the whole rom?? i mean , flash it in the rom that i update some weeks ago via OTA or have i to flash the ro that you have in your signature? My SV is K2_U , can i flash this despite be for K2_UL devices??
thanks
You can flash the kernel only and also for k2u (i have too).
If you are not S-off, you need to flash the zip in recovery and the boot.img inside with fastboot.
once i have flashed the kernel , what i have to do to delete some system app??
thanks again
Use a root explorer and go to system/apps/ and delete the one you don't need anymore (or rename it first to see if it causes problems).
But be carefull with what you delete and make a nand backup before!!!!!

No, in JB OS files not be deleted.
Instead, use the file manager in the TWRP recovery.

my phone doesnt boot anymore after installing twrp recovery? do i have to reinstall kernel and system backup after flashing recovery? the problem is that i only have cwm backup available?
As long as i know, you can't restore cwm backup with TWRP. So you need to flash cwm and restore your backup with that.

[Recovery][p6200/p6210/t869] (9Feb2016 TWRP 3.0.0-0) Custom Recoveries

Here are the custom recoveries I built for GalaxyTab Plus.
Seems there is no updated recovery for our bro. I spare an hour to build these.
Here are the latest CWM & TWRP. Please report if they work or not. Cheers!
Note:CWM has stopped update after 6.0.5.x so it won't be any update.
CM has its own touch recovery now. I might give a shot when it is stable for our device
Release Note:
9/2/2016:
This build include the latest 3.0.0-0 UI and theme. Translation for Chinese TC and SC are included.
15/1/2016:
This is a bug fix release. ExFat support is fixed. The battery images at power off charging are also fixed.
5/1/2016:
TWRP got a new look. I don't know why it isn't march to a new version. Anyway, I manager to support F2FS in our device now. The next MM build (may be a day or two later) will have F2FS support. This is a big step for us.
/data and /cache partition can have the f2fs now. For the read only /system partition, it is better keeping it as before for compatibility.
Since TWRP can flash image file directly, seems no reason to keep the zip format. From now on, tar and img will be provided. Cheers!

History
26/8/2015:
Latest 2.8.7.0
29/3/2015:
Finally fix the jump effect of new TWRP. Future update is possible now! Cheers!
20/2/2015:
2.8.3.1 fix the jumpy bug in 2.8.3.0. That was the reason can't upgrade to 2.8.4 or above...
14/2/2015:
When I finish the latest 2.8.4.0 for our tab, it behaved jumpy and unstable. Therefore I turn to 2.8.3.0 which has much better MTP support. Hoping it doesn't mean the end of our trip on TWRP.
PS. I have checked. Backup to external_sd is ok (tested for both Fat32 & exFat).
20/12/2014:
twrp 2.8.2.1 has major changes. Instead of puting bandage, I managed to add SELinux support to our TWRP. This is a huge step for future developments. It would fix many flash errors. In addition, the charging bug is also fixed. Cheers!
7/12/2014:
I was thinking sparing an hour before bed would do. Turn out that I spent four hours to make it work! I think I need a much faster PC....
Anyway, twrp 2.8.2.0 has better MTP support. Enjoy!
17/9/2014:
TWRP 2.8.0.0 support MTP now. No more adb commands to transfer files! cheers!
8/6/2014:
TWRP 2.7.1.0 released
6/5/2014:
Just find out some file can't be flashed. Sadly, no one report... I have repacked and reupload the files. If anyone had trouble flashing TWRP2.7.0.0, download again. The repack files are working now...
13/3/2014:
Here are the latest TWRP 2.7.0.0. Add the zip version which can be flashed in recovery.
2/1/2014:
TWRP2.6.3.2 Bug fix version: Screen size adjust. Thanks for schlork's report. I finally get a look of my work on GT-Plus... Quite curious why no one report for so so long
20/12/2013:
Bug fix version: Charing images will show at power off. Backup/Restore fix for PRELOAD partition. Cheers!
22/11/2013:
In this TWRP build, I add the preload & efs partition in the backup list. Internal sd mount to /sdcard and external sd mount to /external_sd.

Yes, Odin is ok. I suggested Mobile Odin in the thread.
Before you decide to flash, you better take a mintue to read the thread. It built with 4.4 source. Old zips require a patch.
Good luck!
Can we have a cmw flashable for those with old recovery or can we just flash the patch

I installed this, (TWRP 2.6.3.2) as I read it could do backup to USB-OTG but I can't seem to get it to work? Anyone know how to do this? Tried with my 8gb stick formatted to NTFS and then in FAT32 but its a no go. Thx
Edit: Also, on stock JB will I need to patch any zips? Or is that only if running 4.4 roms and installing zips?
Are backups created using CWM 6.0.2.7 able to be restored using TWRP 2.6.3.2?
I'd like to use TWRP but don't want to lose my safety net in case things go bad.
If I planed to flash via pc odin 3.07, is it true that I should select "PDA" , select the file that I downloaded and click START? That's all right?
New TWRP 2.7.0.0 is out. Anyone has tested, please report.

I need help. I have a Tmobile T869 with the latest official OS on it and for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to get a custom recovery onto this thing. Tried flashing one of these through desktop ODIN but it just crashes ODIN when I do.
Tried another older method through the e3 recovery and it says the file is invalid.

Odin is the formal way. Make sure you put the.tar in PDA.
An easier way is by Mobile Odin app. Select the .tar in the recovery section and flash. Provided that your tab is rooted.
Good luck!

Thats the thing. I'm not even rooted. I can't seem to get that either. There are a ton of rooting directions out there an none of them work for me.
Generally once I'm rooted most android devices are smooth sailing but I can't even get this one rooted.

My A700 don't want anything but CM10 ... what happens ?
Hi
I try to install it on my A700 rooted and with CM11 and encounter a problem that i can't solve.
I use Clockworkmod 6.05
I have wipe data/factory reset and format dalvik cache as well
During installation i have seen a message telling something about "detected EXT4 [...] and a folder name beginning with /dev and including TEGRA-3 in it (sorry, i didn't made a screen copy)"
Then after a long time "Script succeded : Result was [/system]".
And a message telling the installation was completed.
But when i reboot the phone, i do have the Acer logo, then after a long wait, it reboot and do the same again and again
So after some despair, i try to reinstall CM11 and also try Pac-man but to no avail... seems impossible to reinstall any kitkat android .
As a consequence, i try to install CM 10.2 and it works
Another strange thing is that the "wipe data/factory reset" now hang on "format /cache"... i have to reboot the a700, then go to advanced and choose format /cache from there to be able to finish it.
As i can guess i missed something and want to try your version of CM12 , can you help me understand how to solve this problem ?
Hi,
You should try to make a cleaner install by
- make a factory reset
- format /system
- flash the CM 12.1 ROM
- flash the CM 12.1 Gapps
- reboot

Hello
thanks but i can't use the factory reset as it hang on the "format /cache" operation
So what i have done each time i try was :
format /system
format /cache
format /data
wipe dalvik cache
I don't get it ... could this be a problem with the CWM i install on it ?
this is insane
OK i install CTR yesterday to give a try but still have issues
Now i am 100% sure there is no link with CM 12.1, so i don't know how to remove my message from [Q&A] about it.
Here is the message i got when installing it
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Is it the normal behavior ?
When i want to install Full GAPPS, i have this message
Is it normal as i just format the /system ?
As said yesterday, i do each time :
-Format /system
-Format /cache
-Format /data
-wipe dalvik cache
I even remove all backups as they don't works
even with CTR, i am still unable to use wipe/factory reset ... when doing the format /cache, nothing happens, the menu never came back ...
If i do one after another Format /system, Format /cache ,Format /data, the menu disappear... and i have the same issue on CWM so perhaps this is an issue that everyone has ?
OK so CM11, CM12 and Pacman don't works (loop on the Acer logo).
This is strange as before trying to install CM12, i was using CM11.
The only one that works is CM10.2.
But now the insane part : at the beginning, to install CTR, as my CM10.2 was "fresh" i install firefox and flashify.
So i have the 2 icons on the desk
After formatting many times, wiping all i could, and installing many OS, i reinstall CM10.2
And the icons and wifi parameters were still there !
It is as not everything was wipe
is there any way to check what happens using Adb or fastboot at each step ?
VICTORY!
Thanks to Shreps, i have been able to resolve my issue
Here are what i have done using his advices in fastboot mode
> fastboot erase cache
> fastboot erase system
> fastboot erase userdata (takes 28s to finish it !!!)
> fastboot reboot-bootloader
> fastboot erase boot
> fastboot erase recovery
> fastboot flash recovery C:\.........\recovery-ctr.img
> fastboot boot C:\.........\recovery-ctr.img
I have change the boot and recovery erase to do it at the last moment - just in case something goes wrong
Then i have install CM12.1 and i have the following message
After rebooting, i was glad to see this expected screen :victory::victory:
Oh i forget to add i use CM12.1 Gapps
I have test many features (camera, wifi, checking each parameters screen to see each options) and you have done a wonderful work Shreps !
Ok one last tought for people who want to try
The "desktop" seem to be quite small for icone at first, as on this screen capture
I mean, i have put the google icon on the right and you still have a big place unavailable on the right
In fact, this is because of the google search bar - after removing it, the screen was resized to take space available.
Ok again THANKS Shreps for both your help on my problem , the CTR and CM12.1
Ok i have less than 10 posts, so my comments won't be on the discussion about CM12.1 - sorry for that.

Ok i never try Pac-man but i have use CM11 for some months, CM10 for some days and now CM12 for some hours
I have the same feeling as Mankann - for me, CM12.1 is somewhere between CM10 and CM11 regarding the smoothness
The navigation between menu is far quicker than CM11, the applications on another side are slower to launch than CM10 but still a little quicker than CM11. It was quite slow when reinstalling all apps from Playstore.
But the result is fine, i believe only a few is missing to have something very smooth. I don't know if this is more RAM or CPU.
I have to use it for a couple of hours to see if i encounter issues

Thank you for your first impressions of CM12. At the end I probably remains only the self-test.
I have found an issue
When i use the camera, if i switch from frontal to back on or vice-versa, the application hangs, then stopped with an error message
You have to restart the camera application and from time to time you have the message "impossible to connect to the camera" (probably bad Translation as i use CM12 in French "Impossible de se connecter à la camera") so you have to restart the tablet
---------- Post added at 09:47 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:39 AM ----------
Second issue is noise in headphones (there was no noise on CM 11). Disabling stock AudioFX (and its complete removal) as well as installing ViperFX, which I used on CM 11, change some audio effects but not the constant ssssshhhhhhh.
Everything else is very nice

I also have the audio blank noise "shhhh" when using VLC and headphone. For me it is just a small noise
I didn't check audiofx but the sound is there even after the video have ended, and it stop if i close VLC.
Sorry for all theses post , the goal is to help improve this version of CM:fingers-crossed:

Envoyé de mon One+

Just dusted off my Acer 700 from the closet. I had totally forgotten I had it (received free gift sometime ago!). Went from stock 4.1.1 straight to this and I am still testing things out. One recommendation I have is to go with CTR (not TW or CW) and wipe+format partitions. You don't see any errors and just installs in a cleaner filesystem.

not on the a700
I tried it on my s4 and note 4 since they can recover (most) partition errors, and upon trying to resize any partition, it failed and have a error. that was several days ago and I can't remember what the error was

i downloaded the CTR file, but i dont know how to install it.
My experience with the rom : installed it without any issue, with nano gapps, after full wipe (TWRP 2.6). Install and set up was not that long. Restored my apps with TB.
Great to have CM12 (thanks to the dev !) All seemed to work fine at first. But I got many huge lags, ~30 sec to load an app, then again ~30 sec to change page or scroll down... (not all the time - and Antutu scired a good 19500). Got the same kind of lags when I tested CM11 I think.
More importantly, I can't play most of my videos (with MX player or some streaming app). It freezees on the first images while the sound continues to play normally. Someone have any idea where that come from ? I tested some ambient display parameters, some 2d/3d acceleration parameters under development parameters but nothing changed...
I think I might have to go back to pac man rom, which didn't had these issues for me...

Installation
You have to unlock tablet with asus app.
You have to use SevenMaxs TWRP RECOVERY for Me302kl
1. Download the ROM and the BOOT.IMG from the link below
2. Download GAPPS
3. Transfer the zip files to your SD card
4. Reboot to recovery mode
Note: You Must use TWRP recovery
5. Optional: Do nandroid backup
6. Wipe data / Factory Reset
7. Install CM zip
8. THIS STEP IS EXTREMELY NEEDED: Make a backup of system partition
9. THIS STEP IS EXTREMELY NEEDED: Advanced wipe - Wipe only system partition
10. THIS STEP IS EXTREMELY NEEDED: restore system backup
11. Flash Open GApps zip - (do not flash pico gapps. It has a AOSP keyboard FC BUG - I flashed Stock)
12. Install Boot.img zip
13. Reboot to system
Enjoy LOLLIPOP!
The steps from 8 to 10 are needed because the new system installer make a copy by block, not by files. So the system partition will be large as the system image file. After flashed the system, we make a backup and format the partition. Now the size of system partition will be correct so we can restore the rom.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Download: http://d-h.st/57LS This is only the ROM (system) without Boot.img - DONT'FLASH WITHOUT BOOT.IMG
Download Link for Boot.img http://d-h.st/nTaM

Download TWRP Recovery by SevenMaxs : http://d-h.st/M3ep
To install recovery exstract frm the zip the file recovery.img and put it on the sdcard.
Then connect to the tablet with adb:
Code:
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p25
Reboot into recovery VOL+ AND POWER

The cameras are hard to fix. They are used in different way by nexus7 and me302kl... I'm working hard on it...
In next release i'll fix the external SD. In my test it works ! Nexus 7 does not have an external_sd so i had to modify kernel, initrd and framework to make sd working...
Have a nice day...
cool
Thanks for this will be giving it a try this weekend.
Boot Img Updated ! link at 1st post.
Fix Cameras
Fix Sdcard
You have to replace framework-res.apk to make extSD working.
1) Download framework-res.apk from the link at 1st post
2) Copy it on sdcard (internal)
3) open a terminal emulator or ADB shell ant type :
Code:
[B]su
mount -o rw,remount /system
cd /system/framework
rm framework-res.apk
cp /sdcard/framework-res.apk ./
chmod 644 framework-res.apk
reboot[/B]

I think I need some help.
Currently I have CM 11 installed and I'm trying to install CM 12.1.
I follow instruction step by step, but all I get is endless reboot into black screen right after asus logo.
I still can access TWRP recovery by holding vol+ so I restored CM 11 for now.
What can possibly cause this issue? I can provide TWRP log if this may help, but I'm not sure how to attach file here.
Thank you for all your hard work and sorry for bothering and being such a noob.

Make sure that you have done all the Wipes (cahe, dalvik cache, data without data/media). Follow the istructions. If you like provide logs. After bootloop, in recovery "/proc/last_kmsg" log will be interesting. Also TWRP log.

Yeah, I double-checked all steps, did I miss anything?
1. Wipe dalvik cache, cache and data without data/media
2. Install cm-12.1-test.zip
3. Backup system partition
4. Advanced wipe - wipe system partition
5. Restore system backup
6. Flash GApps (Open GApps stock 5.1)
7. Install Boot.img (ME302KL_LP_READY.zip)
Would you mind if I send you logs in private message?
Any feedback?

Root
How to get ROOT now?
Which G-apps do you think is better for the ME302KL tablet?
I'd use "Open GApps arm 5.1 Stock" (arm 32).
Do you think that's good?
feedback
Followed all steps.
Booting took long long time with the ASUS logo flashing up time to time.
After some minutes lollipop robot came out, after a long while more appear the sign "Android starting - Applications....." and after 5 min. the tablet was ready.
Did the patch for external SD card and rebooted.
Took (again) very long time in rebooting but in the end everything seemed to work correctly.
The only problem is that the app "Premium Play" doesn't work because it see the devices as rooted. But it isn't.... or is it?( rooted, I mean)
The other thing is the time for booting but I think we can stand it.
Thank you very very much for your work, we all appreciate it very much.

Sorry I can't go on testing because an old problem of my tablet jump out again : touchscreen stop working.
I tried everything but nothing really worked the only thing that keep the problem more stable is the kernel inside the sevenmaxs patch :ME302KL_Boot-jb-14.09.25-Perun_by_SevenMaxs.zip.
So I have to go back to it.
Good luck for your fabulous work

Actually CyanogenMod is a native rooted firmware.
Go in setting and find "root"
Everything is working - both cameras and extsdcard!
Many thanks for your job!!! :good::good::good:
But framework-res change through Root explorer.
Guys, don't forget activated superuser in settings of CM before mounting exsdcard.
First post updated with the link [http://www107.zippyshare.com/v/mrjjcDYf/file.htmlmg]
It is the boot.img with FastCharge.

BUG (?): If you have a lockscreen enabled, and then if you backup this ROM and the Data partition using R2X2 Recovery and then restore it, the phone will refuse to accept your passcode and deny access. Even if you reset the passcode, you'll never be able to unlock the lockscreen. Remove your lockscreen passcode before backup, otherwise you'll be permanently locked out of your own data.

Also, after 3 clean installations, I can confirm that the root warning notification fix does not work on this ROM by the given method. Could not flash the Riru zip.
Update: The notification fix works. I had to flash Magisk 17.1 seperately. But somehow, R2X2 Recovery kept losing grasp of /system, so the flash kept failing. I had to unmount and remount /system manually before flashing Magisk. If you face the same problem, try this.

Ofcourse if you try backup any rom with locked password , it will have password after restore for sure !!!! don't u know ????
Just reset the data or don't create backup of data
I don't get it why you highlighting such things with red words without having proper knowledge about it
And about red root notification , reset data again and flash magisk as mentioned in post and flash riru and ed exposed , it will work for sure
As its working for me and 99% people out there in my group !
Bro, why are you sending so many exclamation marks? I'm not shouting. Chill, man.

I do. It's just that in case of my previous phones, they accepted the correct password after restoration. ColorOS/LiteOS does not accept the password. Maybe this problem is unique to ColorOS. You know better than I do, obviously.

I wiped data and flashed LITE APPS.zip again, 3 times. Didn't work.
Should I erase internal storage, too? I'll try it if you tell me to.
I also tried flashing Magisk 17.1 seperately, but it fails to mount /system in recovery.

Update: I've finally solved the problem. Thanks for your patience and attempts to help. But even though I reset my data 5 times and tried, it didn't work.
I did something else.
I tried to flash Magisk seperately, like you said. It kept failing because R2X2 Recovery kept saying "! Cannot mount /system".
I had already wiped the system and reinstalled LiteOS twice. Didn't help. Same problem.
So, a while ago, I manually unmounted and remounted /system in R2X2 Recovery 3-4 times. Then I tried flashing the Magisk zip, it worked. I didn't need to reset data.
After rebooting, I had to I was finally able to flash the Riru module in Magisk and follow your method.
Maybe R2X2 Recovery has a small bug? I had to manually unmount and remount system to get things working.
Anyway, thanks for all these amazing works, man. The red notification is finally gone.
Im already chill bro but you shouldn't send any confirmation that its not working on my rom , even though it works alright that's what im trying to tell you
Im happy your issue gotta solved enjoy .
So far I've 2 problems with the Magisk.
# Magisk that comes with the installation (LITE APPS) doesn't successfully install Riru module and that's why the red blinking is still there.
# If I flash latest Magisk (19.2/3), it is able to install riru and other modules successfully but the Magisk is installed as "Core Only Mode" and you can never change that. That mode disables the modules and there comes the blinking issue.
I've tried to solve this multiple times and in many ways (re-flash,mounting etc.) but failed. What should I do now ?

# When I use USB Tethering, sometimes (I've noticed 3 times, not everytime) my phone's apps are automatically closed and then after 2/3 seconds, showing a black screen, it comes back to normal (like it was forced closed).

Any suggestions ? Thanks.
