I think you can use flash tool I guess(but that's just for Xperia, I heard.)
Anyway, it's not recommended to install custom roms from the PC cause of possible errors in transferring the ROM into the phone.
For example, if the PC experienced a power interruption or any other unlucky event, your phone may become bricked and be stuck
in bootloop FOREVER.

It might certainly be possible...you are talking about your huawei G510-0010 right...Just a quick question...why do you want to do it only through pc? Using cwm is always better as it can help you restore your phone if something goes wrong..

[Q] 2 Important questions before flashing

Before I start I would like to thank you in advance for dedicating your time to help me here (assuming that you did).I couldn't find the answers on the forums even though I searched.
1. Is there any way to backup my 2.2.1 froyo rom along with the kernel and baseband and EVERYTHING to make sure that if I take it back for repairs they can't accuse me of anything?
2. I have P500H and not the normal P500 mentioned in these forums, is there any risk of brick by flashing another rom designed for P500? And if it does work, will all of my cellular connectivity (RIL, calls, sms, 3G) keep working?

1. yes with LGMDP or KDZ, but you need the stock rom that can be found in general LG P500 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1824618
2 read here, it was discussed before http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1830232
the answers are all in this forum, just try to search, read all sticky and FAQ threads and you should find all answers, but if you want to someone confirm you this, you can make a new thread like this just to be sure, cheers

Having used Odin and kdz I can say that KDZ is *RISKY*
It is maybe equivalent to Odin by the reference to the work they both do
And yeah you can create a nandroid backup of froyo

I would not want anything risky (everything is risky, but I prefer to take it to a minimum level ) as this is not my phone. Do you recommend flashing custom recovery through rom manager?

ROM manager has resulted in 100s of bricks (maybe more)
Don't use ROM manager on LGp500
You can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=acr.recovery.installation.utility
Download amonra 3.06 and extract the recovery.IMG
Then use the above app

Yes the app is compatible with froyo
But I had issues with clockworkmod recovery
Download amonra 3.06 recovery for LGP500
It is the most stable recovery for this phone according to me
Here is the file for your convenience

Copy the recovery.IMG extracted from the above file to the phones SD card And use the app I gave

z4root didn't work either, progressed alittle bit, then crashed to the launcher and the app became inaccessible. Tried twice.
EDIT: Superoneclick worked, proceeding now to recovery installation.

I'm sorry to bump this after so long, I just didn't have the courage to flash the recovery (when I got stuck on the fastboot screen I thought that the device is going to the trash can), I have now CWM v5.0.2.0 but I get a message:
E:Bad boot message
"recovery"
Is it safe to proceed? what does this message mean?

Do you recommend the builds from Jenkins site? Are they stable enough to flash? http://jenkins.androidarmv6.org/job/android/393/ This for example?

I don't like *any* of the Jenkins builds as they are pathetically slow for me even on fresh installations
According to me you should either try Oxygen ICS or Rashed97's CM10
Remember the above ROMs are of my personal preference
And if you are inclined to use Jenkins build *try* them

Is rooting safe?

I have rooted all of my Android phones and I'm worried about it. I just don't want my phone to be useless eventually. Is it safe to be rooted? Like will being rooted cause my phone to become useless?

Why would it be useless? The big concerns are making sure you perform root correctly, making sure you get updates here vs. expecting the OTA on a rooted phone, and warranty-related issues (warrany is void once rooted, which is easily detected). Otherwise, you end up with more capability, not less. Shouldn't be a problem...
So rooting phones in the future shouldn't cause a bricked phone?

it should not unless you maybe flash a new app that requires root like flashing fonts have a chance of possible bricks, but if you let them sit at the current rom they are on and becareful with what you download and use you should be fine so i have bricked twice out of my 16+ devices and they are from Flashing the wrong rom.

Before you mess with your device too much, make sure you are comfortable flashing the stock firmware. Some OEMs have a special tool for this or you might have to use something like fastboot. Once you have root, you will probably want to install a custom recovery. Make sure you know how to create and restore a nandroid back up. Most problems can be fixed by restoring a back up and most of the others can be fixed by reflashing the stock firmware.

Custom Recoveries (such as CWM and TWP) can't be installed because of Virgin Mobile locking the bootloader. Sorry :/
I have rooted them which really is all I wanted to do. I just wanted that annoying boot animation off

[Bricked] [help] want to get back to stock rom

I was using spice mi-515
I don't know what to do, my device was showing unknown error in Chinese lang. I tried reinstalling ROM, but ended up breaking my recovery now the device boots till the spice logo,
Can anyone tell me how do I bring it back to life, maybe if I can somehow change my recovery to stock...

Your phone is MTK so you can reinstall the stock firmware using SP-flashtool.
Try this: http://free-mobile-solutions.blogspot.it/2015/09/how-to-flash-spice-mi-515-mtk.html?m=1
I have got it in hard brick now

They time I flash a ROM the device format the /system /data /cache before Even booting up
And now , I can't even see the charge animation, boot logo
One guy said it's hard bricked

If the PC recognize it is recoverable. So search on internet your STOCK FIRMWARE and not a stock ROM or custom ROM
Okay, its sometimes getting recognized and sometimes not.. Hehe
I'll look up for the firmware
Is firmware and ROM are different things?
Sent from my Coolpad 2 Mi-496 using XDA Free mobile app
For firmware I mean the SP flash tool flashable firmware that is different from a ROM. The SP flash tool flashable firmware is the firmware that the manufacturer use in the recovery center.

OK, when is it being recognized and what is it being recognized as?
Is it recognizing it and then not recognizing it even though you haven't disconnected? Is it doing that while connected the whole time?
What are you doing different from when its recognized and when it isn't?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
The thing that is recognized probably is the preloader. If yes you are able to flash the stock firmware with SP flash tool
I have been trying the method which includes soldering "gnd" and "colo/kolo/ckolo"
And my pc still recognize the phone but it recognizes it as "mobistel DA USB VCOM Port (COM16)
and is shown in ports
I think i should be able to re-flash it by forcing it into download mode by soldering points
Thanks for your help, I'm still hoping for this phone to revive
