Sun glare resistant, removable screen protector? - Galaxy S 4 Accessories

I use my phone as a GPS/speedometer on my motorcycle a lot. The way it's mounted keeps the phone under my tinted windscreen during parts of the day.
Other parts of the day, the phone is occasionally hit by direct sunlight.
I hate screen protectors.
Are there any dry screen protectors that can easily be put on/removed over and over, that also reduces sun glare and makes it easier to see the screen in direct sunlight?
I used to have a screen protector a while back that was "okay" in sunlight. But it was a wet application screen protector. I don't want to use a screen protector at any time other than when I'm riding.
Any suggestions?

Anti Glare Screen Protector

Hi, just wondering but do screen protectors which have anti-glare make it possible to view the N1 under direct sunlight? or does it just somewhat aid with it? Also, which screen protector would you recommend that has anti-glare? thx!
boxwave.com they make a great anti glare one.

Somewhat aids it. The "glare" part won't be as harsh on your eyes.
An anti-glare screen protector won't help the visibility in direct sunlight. The problem there is that the amount of light shining on the screen is more than what is being emitted by the OLED display, so the image is swamped, and a screen protector can't do anything about that.
The only thing an anti-glare screen protector will do is to turn the normal sharp, clear images reflected by the bare screen into fuzzier, more diffuse images. If you are bothered by seeing yourself reflected in the screen, for instance, then an anti-glare screen protector will reduce that to the point that you can see that it's a face but probably not identify whose face it is. That makes it easier to ignore the reflections and concentrate on the image on the screen instead. It's not a dramatic effect, but it is helpful (IMHO).

Seido Ultimate vs DC Mugen Matte

First off, my intention for getting a screen protector was to never actually protect the screen, but to reduce finger prints as I have quite oily fingers.
First I tried the Ultimate Screen Protector from Seido.
PRO: Looks like there's no protector on the screen, amazing clarity.
CON: Did NOT help with the finger prints at all. No help in how easily they got ON the screen, or how difficult they are to clean once on.
Then I sent my phone into HTC for repair and they screwed up the screen protector, so I had to take it off.
Now I have on DCMugen's Matte screen protector.
PRO: No fingerprints! For someone with oily fingers this was great.
CON: HUGE reduction in screen quality/clarity. Makes the screen very grainy and small text harder to read.
So now I'm torn, because it seems the clear screen protector doesn't help with fingerprints at all, so I'm constantly wiping it off, but the matte screen protector completely ruins this beautiful screen. I wish there was an intermediate, something which did not reduce fingerprints perhaps as much as the matte screen protector, but closer in clarity to the ultra clear.
thanks for that - i have teh dcmugen clear on my phone right now and its just as bad as the screen without a protector. I have the matte sitting here ready to apply but after reading your post I think i'll hold off - i have enough trouble reading the screen outdoors as it is.
Well, I think the matte one will help with the outdoor visibility very slightly. I mean, overall visibility of the screen. It may be more visible, but the quality of the screen will be much lower.
When you say "its just as bad as the screen without a protector" do you mean in terms of finger prints?
yea finger prints.
the dcmugen matte protecter is amazing outdoors, with that protector and the automatic brightness setting i never have a problem seeing outside, with the clears it was always a pain in the ass, i just put my last dcmugen on the phone, time to order more. Ill never buy my screen protectors from anywhere else
damn I guess I better try out that matte protector after all

Did you try it out? What do you think?
zagg screen protector seems to be the best of both.. no fingerprints and clarity retained.
I have never tried those two brands i have always used Best Skins ever and Gadget Shieldz and they work great. Zagg always costs too much and leaves a orange peel effect on all my devices.
OP, Just use the first screen protector from Seido no sense in ruining that beautiful amoled screen with the other brand just to keep finger prints off and just learn to deal with the finger prints it is a touch screen phone.

Not yet- too busy playing with froyo. will update again if i do
zagg sucks - the feel of the plastic is too sticky for good swiping imo
Any pics of the matte on the phone?
the difference in clarity honestly isnt that great of a difference, the fingerprints and grease that collects on the regular screen protectors affects the clarity more to be honest. Now that its finally always sunny out ive been using a regular clear protector cause i ran out of dcmugens, and i cant see **** on my screen from the glare, i cant wait till the other dcmugens i ordered get here. only down fall is it takes about two weeks to get them in the us since they ship from hong kong

[Q] Anyone applied screen protector after scratching glass?

I continue to have problems with screen protectors. So, considering going bare and then if I get scratches either adding a protector or buying a replacement screen.
Question is have you scratched the glass then added a protector? If so, did it make the scratch totally invisible? Did you use a wet or dry protector?
Yes, I have. I have a lot of scratches on my screen. Only one of them is deep, the others are light, but are really visable when tilting the phone at an angle.
I applied a screen protector and now all of the scratches are not visable, all but the one deep one, and even then it's not as noticeable as before.

i feel bad for your phone bro.
I had a couple of scratches on my MT4G and installed a phantomskinz "wet" application screen protector and the scratches did not show after. Just take your time on installation. Best screen protector IMHO.

Double layered screen protector effective?

Because i found a really cheap screen protector I purchased it.
One the first layer(right on top of the actual screen) I have a screen protector called invisible shield.(its known to be a very good screen guard and its expensive) the screen protector is squishy and thick.
And on the second layer, I have the cheaper screen protector called clear screen protector. Its thin and solid plastic.
Would having two layer of screen protector be more affective protecting the screen from cracking when dropped?

I would say the added screen protector is adding marginal protection at best. Even the first screen protector isn't adding all that much protection against a fall that would impact the screen. The best protection you'll get for the screen a case that raises the edges so that if you were to drop the phone face down, the case would absorb the shock. The screen protectors will do nothing against such a fall.

Best screen protector to prevent fingerprints?

Fingerprints on the screen drive me crazy.
Has anyone come across a solid screen protector that doesn't show smudges? preferrably not matte
I got this anti-glare screen protector and am REALLY pleased with it. It's probably the best matte screen protector I've ever used, and it keeps fingerprints from showing up: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MTGN6EU/
I had a screen protector on for a month and I also couldn't stand the fingerprints. I am going naked for a while and taking my chances. So much easier to keep clean!
