Your best kernels with slimbean? - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm about to sell on my nexus S and was playing around with cm 10.1. It was good but lacked the cool features of slimbean, especially the option for softkeys. Decided to flash it and now I really, really like the rom.
Now before I sell it on, which I am now delaying a bit thanks to the wicked features of the ROM (!), what kernels do you recommend for decent performance and best battery life whilst using slim bean build 8? I have read good things bout marmite kernel so far but I suppose there are kernels out there with better battery life. Thanks.

Marmite the non-CM version case Slim bean is based on AOSP not CM (Slim vas based on CM with jellyBean 4.1), Devil kernel is CM based so it will work only with Slim based on JB 4.1, if you want Slim 4.2.2 oe 4.3 then Marmite

[Q] [ROM] Slim Jelly VS Rasbean Jelly

Hi guys!
I have Rasbean Jelly at the moment, but I'm thinking of changing to Slim Jelly because of the additional options it offers. I'm kind of pleased with the smoothness of Rasbean though, did anyone already test both of them? Wich one is better in your opinion, in smoothness and battery life.
Thanks!
Mathorlaz
Well, I ended up changing to Slim Jelly, and it's without a doubt the fastest ROM I've had in my NS. The extra RAM available is all it takes to make the device fluid, even with a some open apps. I don't know about the battery yet, but It seems to me that I'm not going to need to change ROM's anymore. Keep in mind that Rasbean Jelly is a very fast ROM, but I'm way more pleased with Slim Jelly.
Hope this helps anyone who was having the same doubts I was!
Cheers

Cyanogenmod 10.1 "Nightlies" performance over other custom ROMs?

HELLO
I have been thinking about installing the new 4.2.1 and therefor i guess its gonna be CM10. But i am very interested in performance, so my question is if its a fast or a slow ROM. Im currently using CleanROM, pretty happy with it so far
CM10.1 on my s2 is pretty fast and very stable.. very good battery life. Also, Samsung is being very stingy with their sources for Jellybean unlike Asus, so I would imagine that 4.2.1 would be pretty slick on our tablet.

Most Stable AOSP Based ROM.

I just won an One X on ebay.. had a bit too much beer during the SB and went bid crazy. Was it a good choice? That's neither here nor there. I won it, and its been shipped.
I may turn around and flip this... I'm coming from a Verizon Galaxy Nexus and the Camera/Screen is what I love about the One X from the start. But I'm not going from 4.2 to 4.0. I need at least 4.1
Are there any near-stock 4.1 or 4.2 ROMs that are fairly stable? I assume not many, and if that's the case, I'd settle for CM 10. Looks like there is a weekly CM10 -- I really don't want a ROM that requires constant maintenance... is this pretty stable? I can't see many bugs from searching but want to double check...

There are a few that are really stable. Not to start a pissing match and all devs/roms are great, but my personal favorite is dirty ROM.. Its fast as hell and stable. Its 4.1.2, but sprinkled with 4.2 elements. If your phone ships with firmware version 2.20, you'll be SOL with photosphere..
I can guarantee you 4.1.2 aosp ROM on the OneX with blow the pants off of a Gnex 4.2

i dunno man my buddy has a gnex 4.2 and its pretty nice. i personally use paranoid android 2.54 with rohans b5 kernel in tablet mode underclocked to 1.2ghz blazing fast. i think battery on the one x beats the gnex though.

Tell me more about AOSP ROM. How AOSP is it? More barebones the better to me!
And I prefer 4.1 over 4.2 on my Nexus.... Photosphere? meh.
I like cm10 and jellybam 4.1.0 or 4.0.0
So nice to see there are options... I'm on the AT&T XL version (probably gonna use Straight Talk).
So basically, it sounds like these aren't buggy AOSP-based ROMS. That's what I was hoping for!
The android 4.2 roms would be buggy

All the 4.1.2 ROMs are pretty solid in my opinion. They're really fast and smooth on the OneX. You'll enjoy, I'm positive

[Q] Best kernel for CM 10.1 Stable?

I'm about to pass on my beloved Nexus S to my best friend complete with cm 10.1. He asked me if I could optimize the phone so whilst performing good enough, has the best battery life available. He's already going to buy a new battery for it. However I know kernels too can dramatically enhance the runtime of the phone.
So, with that in mind, what is the best, stable, kernel for the Nexus S, that is also compatible with CM 10.1 stable?
I tried a few kernels in the past but always settled for stock cm, even though I understand more battery optimized kernels are out there.
Thanks for reading.
I used Mathkid's Matrix v.25 kernel. I love the voodoo colors and sound.

you cant really ask that, as there is no answer, really. every single person looks for differing features and abilities. whats great for you could be very terrible for me. same with performance and battery, we all use our device differently. if you want an answer based on truth, then i would try both roms for several days, then decide which one i liked most.
