Right so yesterday i was browsing the internet on my phone then when typing typing lagged up like it does sometimes then the whole phone didnt respond to anything. so i waited for a whole 10 mins then took the battery out so i put back in... powered in and bam it says please set up your sony and i thought.. what! So then i looked in the app drawer and all it was was stock apps and none of my 100 + apps i had before. Now heres the wierd thing my phone had and still has the same space before they have dissapeared so that left me confused. The most confusing thing was that the phone had downgraded so i had an update from sony ready which i already had before.. I'm completely stuck here
VERY IMPORTNANT INFO:
Yes my phone is rooted but still with stock rom and all
My internal storage is actually my sd card storage
my external storage is my internal phone storage
- This is because i edited the vold.fstab
So any app i had downloaded to the internal storage ( MY SD CARD)
Ive tried many things and i want other peoples help. The apps must be hidden or something cause the storage in settings still has the same before
any more details you need from me let me know. My phone now feels like a brand new phone (bad) from just restarting it.
I really hope this can be resolved!
Thanks - Matt

hmmm
My opinion...i think u have some kind of short circuits on ur plate(especially if u drooped him)causing hard reset and erasing everything, because this doesnt sound like software problem, and ive had experience to meet with that, and the best solution is if u have waranty,go to the nearest service.Im 100 % sure, that the problem is in plate.

Hello people.
What's my problem:
I own a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini St15i and today when i plugged it in my USB it said there was a new software update. I have accepted it and it passed without any problems. BUT after i turned my phone on and my friend sent me a SMS msg it wasnt stored on my messages anymore, there is just last message before u updated my phone. I checked if i have memory, coz i thought i was out of it, but there was 98 MB left on phone memory still. Then i asked my brother to send me SMS to check if it is working with him, but still it was same problem, message wasn't stored -_-
I triend turning off my phone, then turn on, removing battery, but nothing sloved that bug, and that happend just after i updated it, so it's some software bug. My brother has same phone as me but he didnt have any problems after update tho, and he got his update 15 days ago, and i got it today, i dunno why i had to wait that much for my update. Anyway i plugged USB on my phone and went in Sony Ericsson PC Companion and click "Repair" software. It said all contacts, msgs, and some more things will be "overwriten", then i went in settings to move all my applications to SD card coz i thought i could will still have them on my phone after Repair, coz it's memory card, not phone memory.
After it "repaired" the software i lost EVERYTHING, ALL applications even after i moved them to my SD card, and now when i browse my memory card i dont see where that applications are, i checked all folders but there are none of them! And what's weird it says that i have only 140 MB free on my card, even if it is 2 GB of total memory, and when i select all files on it it says total used space is 750 MB, so where is the rest of the space (it should be: 2 GB - 750 MB = around 1,25 GB, but it says i only have 140 MB free -_-)? I guess it is in backuped apps but i cant find them, anywhere. I thought they will still be there after repair coz it said only files from phone memory will be "overwriten"
SMS is working like it should now tho.
Any help please? I will destroy it, im totaly mad now coz i guess i have to install all applications again.
My phone isnt rooted btw.
Kind regards!
This phone has a hardware problem with SD cards. I tried to go to the store.
You can try going to the store and getting it replaced, or see if they have any solutions.
Although I don't have the same phone as you, whenever I flash a new rom/update, I take out my external SD card ... just incase, and if I have the time, I'll even throw a backup on my computer ... just incase.
Better safe that sorry.
Hope that helps.
Hi guys.
I'm having an issue on my XL.
This happens every time I transfer an app to internal(via settings->apps) or on SD(titanium backup, clean master).
After a reboot, it doesn't immediately show up in the app drawer. Eventually, after 6-10 seconds it does shows up at the end of the drawer.
Its very annoying...
Any help or suggestions REALLY appreciated
Notes: 4.2.2, BL Unlocked, rooted, tried re-flashing all stock FWs and pre-alpha CM but nothing worked :crying:
Also sorry if I missed something, its late and I'm starting to hear some wierd conversations in my head...

This is quite normal. You have sent a file/app to SD card and it is not immediately available when system loads. After system loads, it starts to read SD card and then you see your apps.
Even If you use a faster sdcard like class 10, you might see improvement but there will be always a delay.
Further, the more apps you have on your phone, the more time it will take to read your SD card.
How often you restart your phone ? I hardly restart it in months.

Well I restart it quite often lately...
I'm aware that forcing transfer to SD is risky, but as I said, this doesn't happen only if I transfer an app to SD, but also to internal memory. And that didn't happen before.
For an example, I flash a generic ftf, turn on the phone, reboot and transfer Office Suite to interal memory.
Also, I use a class 10 Kingston 32 gb.

I am sorry to disappoint you but it has always been there for me when I had many apps/more than 50% full internal or SD memory in all phones I used EXCEPT Nexus devices. (It only has one memory. Not two or three )
The phone reads internal memory and SD card the same way, you can think of both as two SD cards. One which is removable and other not.
Try clearing dalvik cache. It might help but chances are slim.
Here what you do , restart your phone and do something else for a bit like a glass of water, or check what's in fridge to eat

Hahaha thanks for your adivce
Yeah, tried cleaning dalvik cache... surprise, surprise, it didn't work.
But hey, it's nothing fatal. All of my apps fit in phone memory.
Still, thanks for clearing it up for me.
Hey guys. I'm facing a problem with my 4 day old xperia e3. The problem is:
I downloaded a lot of apps from google play and since the phone has low in internal memory, i moved most of the apps to my external sd card and life went on and I brought an usb otg cable and I connected my pendrive (scanned-no virus) to my phone and i finished watching a movie and i tapped on the remove usb safely option and a dialogue box popped up saying "applications installed on the storage may not work after removal" or something and since i havent moved any of my application to my pendrive and as it was in my external sd card. I removed my pendrive and almost immediately, i get crash pop ups of apps that I moved into my sd card! and i tried reconnecting the pendrive but it was no good. and i had to re download all of those apps and keep them in the phone memory.
Please help me. How to solve this issue.

I checked for update but I was already on android 4.4.2 and I did try restarting but still it isn't working. I've given the phone to service center, hoping to get it replaced, they said that they had to do a thorough checkup on the phone but thanks anyway for taking the time to help me.

I hope you get your problem solved by service center.
Well first of all hi to all, and thanks for taking the time of reviewing this,
I cant seem to find an answer anywhere so literally any information on the subject would be apreciated.
I own a ntt docomo fujitsu arrow s, The phone has been working flawlessly for so long
so much that i just never consider even doing a backup, now im literally facing hell
Well ill try to explain my problem also keep in mind im not really good with android, but i fix pcs so i get some stuff.
Okay ill start, one day my phone was working as ussualy and i went to the gallery as always and i had the external storage not available message,
so then i went to storage and it reflected that my internal storage was 0.0g.
So the thing is, apparently my data is still there, my apps are there, my wallpaper didnt switched, just like my ringtones, also if i go to
clean master and in settings-apps my apps and the storage i had before the incident was exact, as in i had 18g of used memory and it still reflects me that,
but certain apps like file explorer dont show anything , i literally dont have anything in my storage, idk what to think of this.
Also ill post some extra information because if anyone have any info i guess you will need more info from my side.
If i connect the phone to usb storage , it reflects me my internal storage is at 0.0g and nothing is inside.
Ive never rooted and never even tried.
I didnt install anything lately that may cause a hardware change.
The phone didnt fall, didnt got wet.
i think the sd card was in the internal storage, as an emulation, i thik idk much about that. (but i never used one, just the internal storage)
If i try to mount an sd it just doesnt happens the only thing i can do sd wise is erase all data in the sd
So basically now idk what to do, i wish i could keep my stuff, idk its still there, i guess the term for this is my storage unmounted, so using adb to mount it back would work?
idk i also did the putting it in tmp and disconecting it and nothing im literally going insane and have slept like 2 hours per day, so thanks for taking your time to atleast review my problem
also sorry for the bad formatting, english isnt my native language.

Hello!
Well, about a month ago i've bought a brand new moto g 2015 8gb/1gb and all went well untill i flashed the external SD card to internal memory and moved the data to it, then my nightmare begun *evil/dreamy music plays*
- the home button do answer when i tap it but there is no function on it
- notifications are not displayed at all...
- moto screen not working
- lockscreen not working
- battery charge speed decreased considerably
- cant reach to quick settings
- factory reset button locked (gray letters, cant tap it)
- moto gestures not gorking
- the phone get really overheated while charging
- some other functiones are locked (same as factory reset)
As it was a brand new phone, i sent it to motorola so they would provably fix it... and they did..... Once i get back to my home with my phone working at 100%, flashed the SD card as internal memory before installing any app on it, so guess what! SAME PROBLEM ALL OVER AGAIN
hopefully i've downloaded an app so i could factory reset and it worked. my question is (if any one know) why is it happening??? now i cant flash sd card as internal memory coz im afraid it will break my phone all over again...
ANY GUESS?????'
If it happened with two different devices and the same SD card, I'd say the issue is the SD card. Just a hunch.
Nope

I wouldn't say that SD cards are a "one solves all" subject. Wouldn't surprise me if Android just didn't like the SD card you have as internal for some odd reason. Maybe you could keep it as a backup and buy a newer card unless the one you have right now is already new. If that's the case, I would just return it.
Needs to be UHS or better to work as internal reliably. I tried an 85Mb/s card and it still failed after a short time. Not sure that was all card speed, though. I think Mm also has issues setting default permissions.
