P A C man ALL IN 1
Description
After months of work, the long awaited PACman 4.2 rom is ready for public released. This is still work in progress WIP and there are many missing parts. Though the rom is rock stable for average users. We are working on it daily to fill the missing parts.
Now what is PACman? The idea was to remove the need for a hunt of rom and cure flasholicsm by providing everything xda has in rom development in a single bloat free rock stable rom. This is the FIRST rom of its kind with a hybrid framework consisting on cm10.1, AOKP and AOSPA. What makes PACman unique is this perfect blend of all of these. Be informed PACman is not a "git cherry-pick blahblah yeee i am a dev donatezzz me" rom. It took a LOT of work of thinking behind to merge the frameworks in the right order.

PACman FAQ
PIE FAQ
Q. What is PIE?
A. PIE is a new way to interact with your notifications. It provides easy gesture based interaction with all your system information without taking up valuable screen space. PIE is what you see in this image.
Q. How do I access Pie?
A. Swipe your finger from the pie gravity edge (default is the bottom) toward the center of your screen. While keeping your finger on the screen, drag your finger to the desired button and release to click.
Q. My PIE doesn't look like the ones in the screenshots. I don't see the Clock or notifications.
A. Notifications work either through the status bar or PIE. If the status bar is enabled, PIE reverts to just the softkeys. To enable the full PIE experience, enable Expanded Desktop by going to Settings -> System -> Power Menu -> Expanded Desktop (Status bar hidden). Access the power menu and turn Expanded Desktop on.
Q. How do I change PIE colors?
A. Go to Settings -> Hybrid Properties -> Interface and change the Navigation bar color.
Q. Buttons or keyboard rows near the edge of my screen are nonresponsive.
A. PIE's trigger area overlay is covering the edge of your screen. Change either the Trigger Area or Pie Gravity in Settings -> System -> PIE Settings.
Q. I don't like PIE, how do I turn it off?
A. To disable PIE set Trigger Area to None in Settings -> System -> Pie Settings. Remember to disable Expanded Desktop to turn status bar on again.
ROM FAQ
Q.Do I need to do a full wipe before installing this ROM?
A. Unless coming from a previous version of PACman it is highly recommended to do a full wipe before installing. This includes coming from ParanoidAndroid ROMs.
Q.What do the settings in Hybrid Properties do?
A. ParanoidAndroid has an extensive guide to the settings at this thread: [GUIDE][PARANOIDANDROID] A Complete Compendium on ParanoidPreferences [PA-Settings] Please do not post questions related to PA Settings in this thread, they are not ROM specific and all we'll do is point you to that thread.
Q.How do I turn on the Navigation Bar??
A.To enable the NavBar open Hybrid Properties, swipe the screen to the right to peek through to the menu.
Select Interface, now set your desired NavBar size with the slider.
Q.Something isn't working. What do I do?
A. First, make sure you are running the latest stable version. For i9100 users, try using the latest Dorimax kernel, for i777 users stick with the CM kernel provided. That should solve half the problems. If it persists, backup data using Titanium and do a full wipe reinstall. If the problem persists, report what it is and what triggers it so the dev can duplicate it.
A BIG thank you to IconRunner for putting together the FAQ!! :good:

Experimental Build
PACman 4.3 Alpha build 0 (updated 14/08)
Based on Android 4.3
Upstream from CM10.2
Upstream from PA 3.95
AOKP Milestone 2
Current bugs
Focal doesnt work
Some devices stuck at samsung logo after first reboot (limited to I9100 only)
other than this Let us know
Install instructions
Copy rom and gapps to phone
Reboot to recovery
Wipe system, and factory reset
Flash PAC
Flash Gapps
Reboot to system
Once boot is completed, reboot your phone
If stuck at samsung screen, factory reset again
Reboot and setup your phone
The bug with phone stuck at samsung logo is limited to few devices right now and the cause is not known, before factory reseting to solve this try wiping cache and dalvic cache alone, if this fixes it for you let me know
Note: Android 4.3 based builds are in alpha phase and are still not fully stable so be patient, its good enough to be a daily driver. Help us find the potential bug and help PAC get more stable.

last build have probleme with trebuchet here is fix :good:

OP Updated with this fix

Everything work fine except when to messing around with setting. Pop up blame someone message. Guess it had to do with trebuchet launcher. I did flashed trebuchet fix patch.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda app-developers app

I'm still using this ROM, and im loving it ^____ _^
Found bug i guess,...
Custom Notification Background can't be change,
~Once i select a photo from the gallery, cropped then saved, nothing happens with the SettingsUI which normally restarts itself after changing the background, it only restart when i try to change the ALPHA, but still nothing happens,
~also if i select a third party explorer to select an image, it force close the settings after i cropped the image then save, it also force close the Built in File manager if i select an image,....
they all came from the Custom Notification Background,
also, i think the DPS manager is messing with me, cause i can't play any music... nor change the ringtone and the notification sounds, media storage always force close....
but after i tried to install a different DPS manager, the audio works perfectly, even the media storage is not force closing anymore,...
More power and more beer :highfive:
Gonna find more bugs for our SL's Road to 4.4

Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

Per-App Settings
This guide will help you setup your phone with new Per-App Settings.
First, all credits associate to Xposed Frameworks and Modules goes to Rovo89 for sharing his work and making it open source for everyone. You guys should all buy him a beer.
Steps to follow:
Install Xposed Frameworks by going in Modules Management>Install/Update
Enable Per-App Settings by going in Modules Management> Modules>Tick Per-App Settings (You should reboot your phone at this point)
Setup your phone : Per-App Settings>Choose your app>Set DPI/Resolution/Tablet UI/Language> Press Save on top
Your app should now display in your preferred settings. If it doesnt, kill the app and restart it or reboot phone.
Contribute to RootBox
Those interested in making wallpapers and bootanimation for RootBox, send an email to [email protected] with the following:
Information
Name
Email
Wallpapers
Attach wallpaper in email
Two sizes are required: HDPI and XHDPI
I'll review them and add the wallpapers in the next release. I will also choose the best one as the default wallpaper for official releases.
Bootanimation
Attach bootanimation or paste download link in the email.
Two sizes are required: HDPI and XHDPI
Wallpaper Resolution
HDPI: 960 x 800
XHDPI: 1440 x 1280
You can also contribute by creating icons for settings. Use proper sizes and always include compatibility for HDPI and XHDPI.
The reason behind this is very simple. I'm always busy and I've neglected the visual aspect of RootBox for a while now. It's time to polish it with new visuals!
How to Build RootBox from Source
Getting started
I will assume that you have some kind of knowledge with Linux and how to use a terminal. I will also assume that you have already setup all the android building requirements. First, you must create your working folder and initialize a repository with RootBox sources. The following steps will guide you in creating this working folder where you will be able to build RootBox.
You should now open a terminal (By default you should be in your home folder: /home/yourusername/)
Step 1: Let's create a folder in your home directory named RootBox. This will be referred as your working folder.
Code:
~$ mkdir RootBox
Step 2: Let's change our directory to the new RootBox folder we just created.
Code:
~$ cd RootBox
Step 3: Now that we are in our working folder (RootBox), we will initialize our RootBox repository by entering the following command:
Code:
~$ repo init -u git://github.com/Root-Box/platform_manifest.git -b jb-mr1
Step 4: It's now time to sync RootBox sources which could vary from a few minutes to a few hours depending on your internet connection.
Code:
~$ repo sync
Building Vanilla RootBox
Now that you have synced the sources, you're ready to build RootBox.
You can run the following build script:
Code:
~$ ./build_rootbox.sh -device- -sync- -thread- -clean-
Device: Choose between the following supported devices: i9100, i9100g, i9300, d2att, d2tmo, mako and grouper.
Sync: Will sync latest RootBox sources before building
Threads: Allows to choose a number of threads for syncing and building operation.
Clean: Will remove the entire out folder and start a clean build. (Use this at your discretion)
Examples:
1) Sync sources and Build RootBox for GT-I9100 with 12 threads
Code:
~$ ./build_rootbox.sh i9100 sync 12
2) Don't sync sources, clean out folder and build RootBox for GT-I9300 with 6 threads
Code:
~$ ./build_rootbox.sh i9300 nosync 6 clean
3) Don't sync sources, clean out folder and build RootBox for SGH-I747 with 4 threads
Code:
~$ ./build_rootbox.sh d2att nosync 4 clean
4) Sync sources, clean out folder and build RootBox for Nexus 4 with 5 threads
Code:
~$ ./build_rootbox.sh mako sync 5 clean
This script will make a signed flashable zip file located in out/target/product/-device-/RootBox-JB-(Device)-Nightly-(Date).zip

any bugs?
Re: [ROM][4.2.1][AOKP/CM] Unofficial Vanilla RootBox [31/01][v3.6][Per-App-DPI][PIE]
♦ Help-Index ♦
A
Alarm
• How can I disable alarm icon?
You can enable/disable alarm icon in statusbar in Clock > Settings.
You can enable/disable next alarm information on Chronus widget in RootBox Settings > Chronus > Clock and alarm.
B
Battery
• How can I save my battery? (Without flashing anything or undervolt kernel)
You can check all apps/functions which sync in background like GPS, Wlan or Social accounts (If not needed = disable)
Set the Brightness down (Settings > Display > Brightness)
Use dark (best black) theme & wallpaper & lockscreenwallpaper
Bluetooth
• There is a hissing while using bluetooth headset. What can I do?
It doesn’t happen if you using the standard Rom+kernel. So if you flashed another kernel (f.ex. Dori or Siyah) flash the Rom plus GAPPS again.
C
Chronus
• How can I place Chronus on lockscreen?
Look into Lockscreen section below.
• Where do I configure Chronus?
RootBox Settings > Chronus. There you can configure Clock + Weather + Calendar settings. Note that all these settings apply to both homescreen and lockscreen Chronus widget.
• How can I change color of Chronus / Clock widget?
As first, it is important to note, that there are two different widgets with the same digital clock layout:
Digital clock is classic digital clock widget in a new design. It is configured by Settings of the Clock app. There you can beside other settings change color of clock / date / alarm and it will apply to the widget.
Chronus is brand new CM widget combining digital clock in a new design, weather forecast and calendar events. It is configured in RootBox Settings > Chronus where you CANNOT configure its colors ATM. Or you can use theme which changes color of Chronus, e.g. Hue themes by kroz.
• I can't see my Chronus completly on lockscreen!?
Since we are on the Galaxy S2 and hdpi, we need to set DPI to a lower value, to have the complete chronus info plus lockscreen target visible. (Try 220 or lower)
D
DPI
• How can I customize DPI?
There are basically two ways to do so.
Change overall system DPI
You can change overall system DPI by editing build.prop system file. We do not recommend to do that manually.
Use some user-friendly app from Play store, e.g. Texdroider. But remember that you have to use multidpi playstore then to be able to install other apps without problems.
=> The Trebuchet Launcher does NOT support DPI change! Otherwise you will get a lot of FCs!
Change per-app DPI
You can use Per-App Settings integrated into this ROM:
First, all credits associate to Xposed Frameworks and Modules goes to Rovo89 for sharing his work and making it open source for everyone. You guys should all buy him a beer.
Steps to follow:
1) Install Xposed Frameworks by going in Modules Management>Install/Update
2) Enable Per-App Settings by going in Modules Management> Modules>Tick RootBox Per-App Settings (You should reboot your phone at this point)
3) Setup your phone : Per-App Settings>Choose your app>Set DPI/Resolution/Tablet UI/Language> Press Save on top
4) Your app should now display in your preferred settings. If it doesnt, kill the app and restart it or reboot phone.
• My device isn’t supported in playstore after changing DPI
You have to use the MultiDPI-Playstore here from URL="http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4534385"] “MyLifeRocks10”:
=> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839871
Data
• I can't find the Data toggle!?
It's renamed to "signal".
E
Expanded Desktop
• Can I use Expanded desktop on this ROM?
Yes. Enable it in RootBox Settings and switch it on or off in Power menu.
F
FC (any app)
• After update or some system changes (e.g. DPI change), my app XY is ending with FC (Forced Close) repeatidly.
Anytime you have some app ending with FC, try:
Settings > Apps > ALL > XY and click Clear data and try the app again.
Reboot to recovery > advanced > fix permissions > reboot and try the app again.
Reboot to recovery > wipe cache and advanced > wipe dalvik cache + after reboot repeat step 1 and try the app again.
Try FULL WIPE installation of the ROM.
Flashing
• How to flash this ROM?
It depends on your starting position. Here are possible options:
Option 1: Updating RootBox with stable/nightly version without major changes - Without Full Wipe
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition (optional)
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache (optional)
Reboot and you are done!
Option 2: Coming from another ROM or updating RootBox version with major changes or having strange problems - With Full Wipe
Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
Go into recovery mode
DO A FULL WIPE!!! (This won’t effect data of internal or external sd-card)
-- wipe data/ factory reset
-- wipe cahe partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache
-- mount and storage > format data/system/cache
Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- Select RootBox.zip and flash it
Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
Recovery > wipe cache partition
Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
Reboot and you are done!
G
GAPPS
• Do I have to flash GAPPS with ROM?
Yes.
• What version of GAPPS should I download?
Currently you need GAPPS 20121212 for RootBox version >3.2 based on Android 4.2.1. If you for any reason want to install RootBox based on Android 4.1.2, i.e. version 3.2 and lower, install GAPPS 20121011. You can check here for latest GAPPS for different Android versions: http://goo.im/gapps.
Goo.im
• I can’t download files via Goo.im
Latest stable, nightly and Gapps you also can find here: GDrive Hannibal226
L
Lockscreen
• How do I get shortcuts on my lockscreen?
RootBox Settings > Shortcuts.
• How do I put Chronus on my lockscreen instead of standard clock?
You have to drag clock on lockscreen. It will allow you to remove it. Then you can add Chronus or any other widget instead. Note that Chronus has only one setting that applies to homescreen and lockscreen.
• How do I make Chronus show my Weather and Calendar on lockscreen?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Minimize Lockscreen Challenge.
• How do I unlock faster when Minimize Lockscreen Challenge is enabled?
Rom Control > Lockscreen > Enable longpress to unlock.
N
NavBar
• How do I change NavBar Color?
Rom Control > Navigation Bar > Navigation Bar color.
• How do I enable NavBar transparency?
Rom Control>GeneralUI>Statusbar and navigation bar opacity. See this post from descarao81 if you have problems with transparency using Nova or Apex Launcher.
Nightlies
• What is Nightly? Should I flash Nightly or latest Stable version?
There is no major difference. Nightlies are "unofficial" builds that are built almost everyday for everyone to try builds with the latest sources merged to RootBox. For noobs/average user, this is not necessary because they live in a bubble where they feel more comfortable flashing an "official" release than a nightly, but at the end, it all breaks down to just a differentiation of name. So if you don't know what a nightly is, don't flash it and don't bother asking.
P
Pie
• How do I enable Pie?
You activate it via “settings>RootBox settings>Pie controls”
• How make I Pie open faster
Just set ‘quick’ in “settings>RootBox>Pie controls>Pie style”
S
Statusbar
• How do I enable Status Bar transparency?
Rom Control>GeneralUI>Statusbar and navigation bar opacity. See this post from descarao81 if you have problems with transparency using Nova or Apex Launcher.
• What is fast toggle in Status Bar Toggles?
This will allow you to swipe from the right or left side of your statusbar (depending on what you choose) and it will go to your quick settings bypassing any notifications.
• Everytime after reboot I got a “Low Storage” Message!?
It’s a problem which appears when the app ‘Viber’ is installed. Just move ‘Viber’ to sd card.
That for go to “settings>apps>Viber”
U

Nice work buddy!
Feedback: Installation is pretty fast. Loving the RootBox header in CWM and the boot animation!
Features are very good! In storage menu there is a setting in menu key now for choosing USB connection mode.
I haven't found any problems except from those of CM10.1 (though I have tested only the main ones).
PIE control is awesome! Per-app DPI is not as good as that of ParanoidAndroid.
There is no built-in music app. I find this a bit strange.
Attached some screenshots.
Awesome! <3 :victory:

yepp!..
in my first 10 min experience: settings-> rom control -> notification bar shortcuts (may be sth different i just transtlated it) -> active shortcuts : if i select bluetooth, a "very insisting" fc appears. i click ok but it fc again as soon as i touch. -i dont know whether this problem is about cm10 thing
may be a little problem with keyboard while xt9 is active, but i dont prefer to use it so i dont say much about that.
i "love" battery stick and charging animation, have no issues so far and hope it goes like this
i think wi-fi is significatly slow,
cam program sucks.
thanx for all, great rom.

Bugs & PAC FAQ
Bugs
PAPrefs is currently experiencing issues with hdpi devices, this has been reported to the PA team. Check this post for the workaround.
Rom Control option to show/not show the three dot menu doesn't disable the menu.
Some functions of Rom Control do not work, one example is Signal/WiFi custom colours. Rom Control & AOKP are being worked on to bring these items up to date and fully functional.
PACman FAQ
PIE FAQ
A.First, make sure you're running the latest version. Try doing a full wipe(wipe data/factory reset and format system) and reflash the ROM + Gapps. If the problem persists, report what it is and what triggers it so the dev can duplicate it.
A BIG thank you to IconRunner for putting together the FAQ!! :good:

* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
IMPORTANT! READ BEFORE FLASHING THIS RELEASE!
1. This ROM will wipe data due to different partitioning. The device would reboot while flashing and resume again.
2. Once on this ROM, the most effective way of going back to any other ROM would be to repartition from Odin.
3. While converting the filesystem, your efs that has your IMEI is backed up to /emmc/backup/efs. Keep a backup on your PC just in case.
4. Incase if you don't get a network signal, check if your IMEI and Baseband are proper. If not, go back to stock and try again.
5. Do NOT use Odin to flash Modems. Due to different partitions, Odin will screw up your existing MTD setup.

Sorry, this does not work. I have tried it and after first reboot there is no SD card mounted at all :crying: (this is what I mentioned before here and on the other thread). Maybe it's due to the version of the kernel and the mods applied.
If I edit the vold.fstab file by myself it works...
This is a list of the SwapSD versions that I have tried:
SwapSD A5 good for CM10.1 with 3.0.8 kernel (David's ROMs based on the 3.0.8 kernel)
SwapSD A4 good for CM10 with 2.3.65 kernel (like MIUI)
SwapSD 10.1 - does not work with these CM10.1 ROMS (based on David's work on 2.3.65 kernel)
Can in install this Rom without wiping anything but cache dalvik cache and Format system?

But I can't boot anymore...
Edit: I reinstalled the Rom,not a big deal. And it boots.

Please be aware this is an unofficial release.
If you rely on your device as it is your only phone you should thoroughly consider the risks involved when flashing a custom ROM (e.g. total loss of your data!).
If you decide for flashing this rom, then you do it at your own risk and I am not responsible for any resulting damages!
I don't claim responsibility for the code in this ROM, I have only built the ROM for this device.
Credits go to:
- The original creators of this ROM and its features mentioned above: CarbonDev, CM, SlimTeam, Team PA, Team AOKP, and companions.

- @[email protected] for stabilizing Kernel 3.0.16 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a nice day!
P.S.: You may want to compile it yourself:
Code:

Download ROM with K3:
CarbonRom for bravo unofficial v2.0 - Test release with Kernel 3.0 - 168.28MB
md5 0949746aced316dfcea1e9175cdf752e
Characteristics of v2.0:
1) Added kernel 3.0.16-kitkat-v0.1 (Hell yeah!) -- Big thanks to everyone who was involved into k3 development -- especially Niklas and Thomas!!!
2) Use performance tweaks (enabled KSM and zRAM at 50%)
3) Use same codebase as in carbonrom v1.1
Known issues in v2.0:
- Initially 'Long press home key' does nothing (you have to go to Settings / Carbon Fibers / Buttons and 'Enable custom actions' -> configure home with 'Recents')
- If your battery falsely shows 0% and causes your phone to shut down, then boot into recovery and wipe battery stats when 100% charged
- Trackball wake not working
- Camera preview is sometimes distorted (taking picture works)
- Noticeably higher battery consumption as in older ROM versions
- Everything else should work, if not please let me know
Instructions:
Requirements:
- An hboot with at least 400mb on system. Get it from here: PB99IMG_LP-looback_420_5_12.zip.
- A 1gb - 4gb EXT4 partition on your sdcard. Use this guide to create the partition. Partitions made using other tools (CWM, Minitool Partition Wizard, etc.) will likely cause issues.
- Use this modified 4EXT Touch Recovery ONLY: 4ext-touch-recovery-for-LP-loopbk.zip. Any other recovery version may cause issues.
Installation guide:
1) Backup your current apps incl. their data (use Titanium backup from Appstore)
2) Backup your current ROM from recovery
3) Install the new hboot via PB99 method (find hints on PB99 method below)
4) Boot into recovery and format all partitions except for SD
5) Install the new recovery via PB99 method
6) Boot into recovery
7) Do a full wipe
8) Flash ROM
9) Flash a GApps package of your choice -- my recommendation is the PICO MODULAR PACKAGE with proper DPI play services ~99MB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/paranoid-android/general/gapps-pa-google-apps-roms-t3074801
10) Wipe battery stats -- IMPORTANT: On first boot have the charger plugged in!
11) Boot ROM and let it settle down (3-5 min)
Download ROM with K2.6.38:
CarbonRom for bravo unofficial v1.1 - 167.87MB
md5 d06e0ad83c7932253f014ea716b5cc10
New in v1.1:
1) Sync with CarbonDev on 2015-09-04 (however, the latest code changes by CarbonDev occurred around 17th Nov 2014)
2) Use Data2ext4 (credits walter79)
* This is meant to permanently solve the biggest remaining pain that bravo kk users have: running out of space on /data
* Makes using A2SD scripts from Evervolv obsolete
* Requires a SD-EXT partition on SD card of size between 1GB and 4GB
* Requires a custom hboot which provides sufficient space on /system (e.g. 420-5-12)
3) Added a patch by CM to prevent wakelocks caused by Google Play Services 7.x SystemUpdateService
* This will fix the problem mentioned here: https://jira.cyanogenmod.org/browse/CYAN-6438
4) Added quite a few tweaks and build.prop mods:
* Increase ui responsiveness (credits CM)
* Enable slow blur (credits CM)
* Media profiles: use m4v to gain performance improvements (credits walter79)
* Improved incoming call response time (if screen is turned off the call appears now after ~3 seconds) (credits walter79 and pixelfreak)
Known issues in v1.1:
- Initially 'Long press home key' does nothing (you have to go to Settings / Carbon Fibers / Buttons and 'Enable custom actions' -> configure home with 'Recents')
- If your battery falsely shows 0% and causes your phone to shut down, then boot into recovery and wipe battery stats when 100% charged
Instructions:

Flash a recovery or hboot via PB99 method:
1) Ensure the integrity of the downloaded image by checking against the md5
2) Copy the zip file to the root of your SD card and rename it into PB99IMG.zip
3) Reboot into bootloader
4) After a few seconds boot loader will search the file and ask you to apply the update
5) Press vol up for yes and then it will ask you to reboot
6) Again press vol up for yes
7) Now hold vol down to re-enter recovery
8) Format all partitions except SD card
9) Before flashing a rom or sth else reboot the recovery to allow the changes to become effective

Guys, if you read this piece of information about qualcomm-optimized kitkat dalvik and bionic libraries, one conclusion is that it is not recommended to replace the bionic libs of a CM based rom because CM's bionic libs are advanced.. and actually this rom has been compiled with CM's bionic libs. Please correct me if I am wrong..
In my point of view, there is one option left for the next release -- to use qc-optmized kk dalvik.
Do you want me to give this a try?
I would love to know if this will make any difference. :cyclops:
does it include google phone like Chromiums beanstalk? I mean phone app which can lookup for phone numbers directly from internet?

Assuming that you are talking about the kitkat phone app -- YES.

in fact I meant nexus 5 phone app, AOSP doesn't have internet lookup capability or at least evervolv's hasn't but it also has search bar for local search...
your CM11 also doesn't have internet searching capability, maybe you should add it for CM11... anyway, i will try carbon tomorrow, thanks!
Nice ROM. Stable and looks good. Speed is the only thing to do.
Bugs:
Google keyboard fc with gestures.
Video playbacks are not flounce enough

Bug found.
Settings>Carbon>Lockscreen>General>enable Slider torch (Double-tap and hold the slider to start torch)
In the lockscreen, double tap the lock ring and hold to turn it on, but double tapping lock ring puts the phone back to sleep
In notification tiles, I can't add a torch toggle.
Does anyone know any other way to quickly toggle on/off the torch?

If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

FAQ
The Music app crashes every time I open it
There seems to be something causing corruption in the Media album art database. Clearing the data of the "Media Storage" application and rebooting should fix it.
To clear data, go to: Settings -> Apps -> All -> Media Storage -> Clear Data. Then reboot.
Login with Google does not work in some apps
Sometimes, on a fresh wipe, the phone language will be set to an invalid language. Changing it to a valid one from Settings should fix the issue.
Battery Statistics shows that Wi-Fi is always on even though I've turned it off.
If you are using "scanning always available" in Advanced Wi-Fi Settings, then Wi-Fi will always be on to scan for available network to aid location discovery.
After installing, my storage was reduced from 8 GB to 4 GB
You only have 4 GB for user data in the first place. The other 4 GB is used by system files. This is the same with stock as well. However, stock might have displayed it as "8 GB with 4 GB used by system files", but AOSP-based ROMs will only display the space available for user data.
Can you include S-Note/S-Planner/MultiWindow/Insert Samsung App Here?
No. This is an AOSP ROM and cannot have TouchWiz applications.
Can you add Feature X to the stock ROM?
No. I don't work on stock ROMs.
What kernel does this ROM use?
A slightly modified version of the stock kernel, the source code is linked above.
I've heard that Broadcom doesn't release source, how can you make this ROM?
Contrary to the popular belief, userspace driver source code is not always required to make an AOSP-based ROM as long as the proprietary binaries shipped with the device does not modify the API too heavily (or is from a very different version of Android). Instead of modifying the source code of the drivers, the Android source code was adapted to be able to use the proprietary binaries.
Can contacts be saved to phone/SIM?
No. It is not supported in AOSP-based ROMs.
Can I send files over Wi-Fi Direct?
Yes, but you must use third-party applications. The implementation provided on Samsung ROMs is not an open standard. AOSP/CM does not provide a native way to send files over Wi-Fi Direct.
Can I mirror your ROM?
You're free to, but I will not list it in main post.
REPORTING BUGS
You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread.
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Hi everybody, thanks you to have brought into us this fantastic fw,
I just installed it in my 9105p and seems everything fine and smooth, or almost...the flashlight goes on and when you switch it off the system reboots.
I will keep reporting weird things, either that you like it or not

Turbo ROM is a custom Android ROM based on the latest Android Marshmallow (6.0.1_r22). Sourced from a straight AOSP/CAF base, the ROM is now extremely feature rich and has lots of customization options. My ( @Yoshi_Guy) goal with this ROM is to create a ROM with as many customization options and possible while still being stable. In addition, the ROM uses RRO/Layers for theming with full DayNight support. SuperSU is pre-installed along with ViPER4Android.

Awesome! going to try it out today! Been having trouble finding a ROM and Gapps combo that wont FC on me since I unlocked bootloader and rooted
Nice to see a new project here, will give it a try later tonight and report back.
Always good to see another ROM for Flo....
Many thanks.
ROM is very clean. I like it. However, im still plagued by Play Services FC repeatedly. How did you get it to work?

It's easy finding ROMs that run perfectly for flo. If you consistently have issues with numerous roms, the source of the issue is either the gapps you're using or the way you're installing the rom and gapps. Check the gapps package you're using, any packages for flo should be ARM, as opposed to ARM64 and x86.

1. Reboot to recovery.
2. Wipe caches, /system, and /data.
3. Install ROM and gapps.
4. Reboot system.
FWIW, I used slim gapps, the zero version. I occasionally use banks, but have my own reasons for situations where I choose one over the other.

ROM is running well, really liking turbo so far, lots of solid slim elements, and a robust array of nice customization options. Also, the black is boss.

Never had a Google Play Services fc in my life on flo. I would HIGHLY suggest using the BaNkS GApps, as they are the ones I use.
Great to see another Flo rom that uses layers theming.
@Yoshi_Guy
I've noticed there are two versions on afh. Is any difference between the two?
Thanks.
Great ROM BTW...no issues at all so far.

I didn't know there were two versions, one might be from the previous account I was using. Just use the one from this thread's link and you should be good. Thanks by the way. ?

That's fine, I used MZO's account temporarily to host builds. He is our bacon maintainer.
Great rom! I've been looking for a new DD for my tab and I believe I've found it. Keep up the great work!
Sent from my SM-N920T using XDA-Developers mobile app
Install and first boot very slooow!
I did a clean install wiping cache, data, dalvic and system with TWRP 3.0.0.0 installing ROM first then Gapps - used ARM 6.0 Pico. In both instances the install took about 5+ times longer to install than all previous ROMs I have tried. I would say somewhere in the region of half an hour+! However once installed and settled the ROM runs very smoothly and no glitches so far.
Thank you Yoshi

The long flash is a known issue on TWRP 3.0 for flo. 3.0.1.0 is out, but the image appears to be too large for flo's recovery partition. Use the official or multirom TWRP builds prior to 3.0 if the installation delay on TWRP 3.0 is an issue for you.
So I'm coming from 5.1.1 pure nexus, the rom and gapps flashed fine. But when I try to reboot from recovery to boot up, it just gets stuck on the boot animation. Any advice? Flo rooted and unlocked. Tried twrp 2.8 and 3.0 same result

A clean wipe/flash is necessary, especially in moving from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1...
Otherwise, check the md5 hashes of the files you used.
Best option, if you still can't get it booted, is to post a recovery log.
