Kernel panic upload mode means someone screwed something up. It means there was a kernel panic and the device could not finish booting. It isn't something you can remove from the kernel. What is your full model number?

Yes, Possibly you tried to load something that didn't work, or something went wrong with the flash. Do you know what region you are in?
yeah hopefully the folks at samsung fix this asap.

I'm from philippines so it's philippine's firmware I guess when I updated my firmware and got the kernel panic upload mode.
I have just downloaded the latest firmware from sammobile and I'm gonna try that out tomorrow.
Now, I'm using the prerooted version of UK(jamison's work).

There's a custom kernel but I don't have time to test that so I still have the problem. I have my warranty but I rooted my tab so I can't go to any samsung store.

sir levihaler, I went to samsung store yesterday. what they did is "re-programming" not the "hard reset". but still, I have the same problem. when I used to connect on wifi it will hang & again the kernel panic upload mode displays. =(

@trazfer - did you update your stock rom in august? that's the time when i got the kernel panic. I'll try to use the custom kernel. thanks for the link.

Yup I updated it around 3rd wik of august using KIES. But I never encountered kernel panic

Is this Rom at least is less buggy and more smooth for games.. I think at least samsung should listen to the customers opinion and release smoother roms instead of just changing their name and releasing the same lagging roms ..

You can always change recovery.img in the tar file to a custom one. (or delete it)

Flash it via ODIN buddy (just as you would do for any Stock ROM.) But don't do a factory reset after flashing ICS. Rather first flash CWM via ODIN and then flash ardatdat's secure kernel via CWM. Then you can safely do a factory reset in ICS!:good:

Buddy that is not because of bootloader! The UI(most of it) is decided by the launcher you use. For Galaxy R, Samsung has still managed to stick to the old TW launcher that was use in GB. That is the reason you find that the menu style is similar!
If you want a true Stock ICS feeling, try NOVA launcher or APEX launcher from the playstore!

Yes, for Portugal operator TMN.
I just tried to connect my phone with kies to search for official release and now kies needs update.
Hopefully it's for the new flash procedure needed for jellybean (repartitioning).
I am updating kies as we speak and will report after if the update is released officially.
Edit: Sorry guys, Kies says that LL2 (GB) is the latest software.
I remembered that Izap said that MC4 is the RC. I would suggest caution installing this MC8. We don't want any bricked phone.
Are you from Portugal? If not how you expect to update with Kies?

lol. it's an official firmware for i8160. unless u have i8160p, i8160l or whatever there's no more risk involved than usual.

Samsung's naming convention goes like XXAMB1, XXAMB2 ... XXAMB9, XXAMC1, XXAMC2. I would suggest flashing the latest XXAMC2 firmware with Odin. You can find firmwares specific for your device here : http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=GT-I9105
Choose the firmware that contains the region closest to yours, and flash with Odin.

Firmware contains kernel, so yes download the firmware, and make sure to flash according to instructions. It will probably work with you as well with no issues.

Love it. I came from the Note (1), so i couldn't be happier. No plastic what-so-ever. It's quite big though, but i'm used to it now so it's pretty "normal sized" to me now.

Goto samfirmware and download the MI5 room for the region the phone was Orchard in and flash the firmware. .... If that dissent work. .. Try the latest firmware for the region the phone was bought in MJ3 or even newer. ..

Reboot into download mode. If you see a line there that says 'Warranty Bit' then my friend, you are 'ducked' if not... Rejoice!

This is exactly what I have 'INU-N900XXUCMJ7'. Indian one! I will flash it tomorrow just after i do a hard reset. It's 11pm here already...

I got this from my brother during his trip to the Philippines for christmas and it came pre rooted. Is there any way to like install CWM on this so I can make a NANDROID just in case mistakes happen? And is there a way to speed up this slow tablet? I think is single core.
