[Guide] Adding Call button to Contacts and Logs - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Themes and Apps

Hello xda people,,
I was playing with my brother GT-N8000 csc features when I discovered this cool feature, so I tried it on my GT-N7000 and it works perfectly; so I thought to share it with you dudes.

This is not a huge mod, and anybody can do it easily.
How:
In your phone, go to /system/csc folder and open others.xml or feature.xml (depending on your firmware) and add this line anywhere after <FeatureSet> and before </FeatureSet>
Code:
<CscFeature_Contact_EnableCallButtonInList>TRUE</CscFeature_Contact_EnableCallButtonInList>
If you already had that line, just change FALSE to TRUE
Reboot the phone and enjoy this new feature.
Note: Any ROM developer can use this mod WITHOUT asking for permission.

Thank you very much! It is working perfectly on my Samsung Note 4 (SM-N910F). I updated feature.xml file. Also it is possible to open other features: add record button to dealer, customize the standard Samsung keyboard, etc.

Any idea for galaxy s5 is working just in call logs not in contact list ?

I would like to share with you the mod I made to have ScreenShoot option in power menu; also I made another mod to cancel the 4-way reboot menu and to have Recovery mode and Download mode directly in front of power menu (more practical if you asked me )

All mods are flashable by cwm.
For both mods I used ThaiDai framework-res.apk file with multi-language support, So they should work with any GT-N7000 JB release (XXLSZ, DDLSC, JPLSB, DXLSE... etc)

Search on xda. There is a tutorial already on how to do it. Then you could decompile both framework, and android policy and see what has changed.

I get it to work :laugh:
just added one png in framework-res
and added one line in strings
and used my framework-res.apk and the ohter two files of this mod and flashed it via cwm
so, thanks again for this great mod :good:

The extended Power Menu doesn't work on ChippyNote (200mb) Rom.

HOW TO GET NFC ICON ON STATUS BAR​
Requirements
1. Root Explorer or any root file apk. I did mine with Root Browser
2. Have Knowledge.​
1. Go to System folder
2. CSC folder.
3. Open Feature.xml or Other.xml depending on your S4
4. Add this in under <!-- NFC -->

5. Save and reboot. Make sure you have NFC turn on

I only seen 2 types of NFC icons on i9500 when I decompile sec settings.
The icons are there but with CSC/feature.xml is pretty much telling the system what to do. That N icon is set to ATT that is why it shows only with that line

I don't know which FW version you've explored, but in MH1 version NFC icons (and NFC CSC code parser) are in NfcNci.apk
I went with 3rd type as more compatible with other icons. First two are too big IMHO.

Finding Csc folder
Hi gypsy214 i cant find csc folder with root browser any idea why im using odex preroot BMG1 rom even i try with root explorer but didnt found some help would be great

Some users have reported on being on a rom that does not have feature.xml. If you are one of these you may try adding the code to /system/csc/others.xml (same directory)." but even i try modified others.xml with file explorer adding these lines says cant save the changes so i think the problem its because im using preroot and not full root but im a noob so maybe some member can advise about this

Right forgot to mention here in the US is on Feature.xml in Canada as well as internation is on Other.xml

This Mod was made for N7100 but seems it working on s4 i9505 deodex rom as Reported/Tested by @gashishpetim
Please try to flash this file on our Deodexed devices and confirm its working or now.
If its working on any other Rom please report it

Using any root explorer ,
Delete the old files from :
System/priv-app
They are named :

Reboot and enjoy
DON'T FORGET TO DISABLE " APP SETTINGS " FROM XPOSED INSTALLER :good

wow.... tested on my s4 and it works fine, i'm on samy delux rom I ........ i used root xplorer, did a buckup of SecContacts_OSup.apk and SecPhone.apk.... copy & paste .... give right permissions and rebooted...... and guess what??? i have the rec call button too.... WOW :laugh::laugh::laugh: here it is a screenshot:

Hi guys, this is a very easy guide on how to enable the hidden setting option called “App Ops”, which is included since Jelly Bean. It’s also possible to enable the S5 “download booster” mode.
NOTE:
To enable "download booster" and make it work, I want to make perfectly clear that this is only
an option that I found out on how to let it in settings. If it doesn't work on our device (it seems to me it doesn't),
use only the "APP OPS" option, which works very well.
If any member can make clear about how download booster works, it'd be great to create a PORT (new thread) in order
to enjoy an excellent tool like this one.
How to make
1 - Take SecSettings.apk located in \system\priv-app and decompile it (before decompiling it you must install the dependencies framework-res.apk and twframework-res.apk)
2 - Go into res\xml\management_headers.xml
3 - Search for:
PHP:
<header android:icon="@drawable/ic_setting_launch_apps" android:id="@id/launch_application_settings" android:title="@string/launch_application_settings" android:fragment="com.android.settings.LaunchApplication" />
4 - And add those lines right below the lines mentioned above.:
ENABLE APP OPS

ENABLE DOWNLOAD BOOSTER

5 - If you desire to change the icons, you’ll have to add your own icons with the same name to the folder: res\drawable-sw360dp-xxhdpi (ic_settings_applicationpermissions.png and ic_settings_smart_bonding.png)

This has been implemented since the JB and is a native of Android, Samsung is not part of this process.

i don't think it will work in odex ROM but you can download again and try it
please let us know if it works or not

-If you use S5 SecSettings, you can change the view cover background with your gallery picture.
-Original S5 view cover has camera shortcut but it's not working so replaced by action memo.
-To show Pedometer step counter also on view cover, you need to mod S5 SecSettings to show the menu in accessories tab with s5 smali related sviewcover

i Have S5 settings i use OzcanRom
it's show me just music option and if i try touch it's stuck

Just one request.. I have the bigger window s4 s -view cover (Same window size as that of s5)
But the touch area is only limited to the s-4 window size..
Can you please check if its possible to expand that area to full s5 size?

I reproduced with pure s4 stock rom. It seems that we need additional s5 apps such as gallery/music player to work s5 sviewcover. So now I checking which app should be installed together.
Plz let me know what s5 apps below is not installed on your phone.
