I found an APK from an Optimus G ROM. It has a nice LG UI but it doesn't function. I only get stuff like "Mock: RADIO_ON" which means it is just emulating things for the UI to work. I tried it using it defcomg's FM Radio files, but no success. If someone here can get this to work, I would really appreciate it. I love using radios, it's my way for finding new music. But my OCD is reacting too much on defcomg's radio UI.
Also, scanning only goes per 0.5 MHz and I don't know which libs are required for it to work so I wasn't able to make it work.
Installation:

dont think it will ever work sorry;
at disassembling it don't have any TI (Texas instruments chip from p920) chipset files only broadcom qtc mtk and the 'mock'
also seams it needs a lib called fmjni.so

Thanks for the reply, I didn't find any fmjni.so in the Optimus G ROM, I'll try the L9 P760 since it has the same chip as the P920. I might find something the same as the Optimus G, but hopefully I get something different this time. Downloading an L9 Rom now.

Apparently, I'm not a themer, nor a developer. If you're looking for a themer, try asking OptimusRS. His rom JellyCream is heavily themed.

Hey, I'm no graphic designer but I am capable of imitating a UI of another software, the thing is, I don't how APK modding works. But in order to get a similar UI on the other app, you just import the graphics from the LG Radio app, do minor tweaking so it matches the other APK's graphic files and insert it in that APK. That was not graphic designing, it's just theming as it doesn't involve creating a new design. Graphic designing involves creating a new one. Theming is just using a design that already exists on something else.

GB Radio have the Same UI. But it not work on ICS.
Also Galaxy s2 I9100G Have TI OMAP 4430 Chip maybe I9100G FM Radio well Work On Our P920 maybe.....

Come on at less we have a working FM Radio from U
We dont need any other Radio Just Change The UI and it well be Best Radio app
We need change Ui and icons etc.. and add more languages.

ok you need java SE installed on your pc. http://code.google.com/p/android-apktool/ get the latest version of apktool, pull your rom's com.htc.resources.apk and framework-res.apk (they besides in /system/framework/) and hook them with "apktool if ..." then "apktool d HtcWeather3DWidget.apk" will "de-compile" everything in folder named "HtcWeather3DWidget", edit what you need and re-build it with "apktool b ..", re-sign (a not so bad howto how to do it: http://androidforums.com/developer-101/8665-how-signing-roms.html) and push to your phone.

both mdj's v21 and latest lee's kernel supports 2way call recording, you have to install the latest skvalex' call recorder apk (have a look here).

Only issue I've found so far is 2 things ..
Local for English (United States) - fixed using MoreLocale2
GPS conf was set to Asia - fixed using FasterFix (needed North-America)
Other than that .. VERY NICE

Grabbed "TB-Kernel-MDJ-V21-26may" .. flashing now.
Installed SetCPU .. set @ 1516 max 768 min - OnDemand .. now let see how this runs

FYI, I still had the "tinny" audio issue on my Inspire. Original audio fix cleared it up though.
It's real strange. Every Desire HD based rom has given me the audio issue when it is supposed to be built in. I'm wondering if it is something to do with my phone.
This is a guide to port rom..........
lots of people ask... how do you port roms... so here you go... I hope now the thread is started the people posting can help each other .
here is all the basics on getting a bootable miui rom for beginners.. first download the formels newest release.
then download a stable gingerbread 2.3.3 version that is compatible with the files. ( I always use the great z and j for sources).
the next step is to get the formels rom ready by deleting the boot image and the data folder. Next step is to go to the etc folder and delete firmware folder... also delete ap2sd init script from the init folder)
then go to lib folder and delete hw and modules.
now it is time to add files. I know the miui files pretty good now so the list has shortened greatly.
now use your stable gb rom source to replace the folders I had you delet above
you may have to change other files depending on the rom i.e. bluetooth/dhcpd and others.

Hi guys, our sl and moto defy has same hardware except resolution. Any one know if it is possible to alter the cyanogen mod code of defy to make it work on our device. Clock work mod is already ported to our device. So i think it is possible.

Hi All,
I have modified this Boot animation for I9003 using files from one for SII. This is animation of PC booting also there is a audio file of booting.
This should work on all stock GB version but you need to be rooted. I have tested is for XXKPH
Follow the steps given below to use this animation.
1) Attached Zip file includs "CustomBoot.zip" which has 2 files in it.
bootanimation
samsungani
Copy these two files to "/system/bin" with Root Explorer Or ADB or File expert. These files must be Executable.
ie. Permission should be executable
rwx
r_x
r_x
(r=read, w=write, x= executable)
2) Copy the file "sanim.zip" to "/system/media"
3) Copy the file "PowerOn.wav" to "/system/etc"

processor is just the cpu whereas chipset(ti omap3630) contains cpu,gpu and other things

Guys, don't get carried away by what you see on screen. The info you see is played from images, which is loaded into your custom boot animation. Its not real time info of the files being loaded from your mobile while booting..... That's not possible here. Its possible on pc.

That's true, These are just images (aprox 150 files) running at 30 images per second.
There are two bootanimations available on Android Market made by Chainfire which gives you actual log of boot. dont know exact names right now, But these give scroll of Dmsg and LogCat command at boot. Search for Chainfire in market and you can easily find it.

Can you check if system Volume is off or too low to hear.

is there ANY way of installing the new version next to old one without overwritting it?
i need to use both versions at the same time.

yes u can change the main activity name in smali form....apktools will help you
..decompile apk
..change activity folder's name
..change activity paths in all smali files
..rebuild apk
..sign
.. install

So, I got as far as..... decompiling the app
I am not completely across with programming but I have no clue what I should do next Well... I've never played in programming for android and haven't played in modding or any stuff like that.
SO, Can you guide me what I should do next?
What is activity folder name and where is it stored?
Which entries in smali files are activity paths?
I'll understand if you won't help anymore as it may be too much to go through... honestly, no worries...

I'm trying to do the same thing. With real racing 3. I have an older version that I like a lot for its particular features, plus the latest Ferrari updated version.
I want to have both on my phone. Any way? Also, they have the same exact com.r3 folders, can the modified apk use different data folders?

Source : DDLSC System Dump (deodex)
Download apk, place in system/app set permission r-w-rr ..reboot .. enjoy .
[ If you have FmRadio.odex..then delete it...]

If you are on CM rom.., then why are you asking for"stock" FmRadio.apk .. ?
My friend, i need any app can work with CM without problems and nice fm reciver.
No radio app is presently available if you leave the stock ROM and flash any custom ROM... Except for Spirit FM.So,let's live with the bad quality of audio of spirit FM.

I Just wanted to know, what actually makes the apk to be so unique to be used only in TW based rom alone? I guess its not an proprietary for Samsung and all it requires is to have a fm receiver to be available in the phone and if it presents shouldn't it be easier to get this worked as intended?

You kind of answered your own question. The Touch(my)Wizz framework had proprietary functions that are required for the app to function. Cyanogen(ital) Mod doesn't incorporate such proprietary functions, therefore the app won't run. Further, no one (that I know of) has been able to code an app that uses the FM hardware interface itself, so third party apps like Spirit FM are the alternative.
