t869 roms? - Samsung Galaxy Tab Plus

Hello all.
I just recently picked up a t869 at a good price and have it rooted.
Can I use p;6100 roms and have everything work the same like the ir and what not?
Not really using cellular at the moment but would like that to work too.
Any input would be appreciated.

u cant flash p6200 n p6210 roms, go check development forum n check roms, 4sure u can flash pac man pa 3.68 n cm 10 cm 10.1.

I got mine (t869) around month ago. I did flash stock ICS and everything works fine, just beware of the "brick bug" in ICS. I run the "got brick bug" app and shows that my tab do have brick bug. As long as you have the CM 6.0+ recovery, you will not be affected. Unfortunately, no JB for us at present time. Few of those CM10 roms, but buggy as hell. I love that IR in it. I got it working with my tv, but playing a joke my get you hurt. I event sent e-mail to Samsung president, asking for upgrade, but no luck. According to Samsung, t-mob is not willing to update the device. 600 series will not work. I am looking into some international roms and see if some my work.

[Q] ICS ROM for Samsung Galaxy S

Hi Forum
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000 which is out of warranty. As is known to most, Samsung is most likely not going to come out with an ICS upgrade to this model.
I live in India and travel frequently to the UK, and am therefore looking for a stable ICS ROM that will work on my phone and render the phone usable in India and the UK. I did try with a Cynogen Mod 9 ROM for the i9000 which worked in the UK, but the moment I landed in India, the SIM refused to register with the GSM network in India. My IMEI number also changed when I flashed my phone with this ROM.
Currently, my phone was brought back to a working condition with a Samsung Android 2.1 ROM, but this ROM is really bad and makes my phone freeze frequently.
I am looking forward to some advice from the XDA Forum members to point me to a stable ICS ROM that I can download and flash my phone with, so that the phone works in India.

There are no stable ICS roms for GS2 yet (at least from Cyanogenmod) but they have a gingerbread one (which is better than the 2.1 you have ;P )
Here: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=galaxys2
Anyway, I suggest you stay out of ICS until they make a stable ROM. Port only if you can help develop it
Thanks For the reply. However, I am looking for an update for the Galaxy S. I do not have an S2. My Galaxy S has been sparingly used and I think it has at least a year left in it.

Ooooops I'm really sorry about that. here's the link for the stable CM7 build for the Galax S:
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=galaxysmtd
I suggest you use this for the mean time while waiting for the ICS Cyanogen
I would prefer that you use the rom from team icssgs RC4.2 (4.0.3)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398223
I had cyanogen mod 7 installed but was not very happy with it.
So try it out.
Faryaab is also doing a good job. You should check this out : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1628028
I tried ICS Custom Rom from Darky. It worked fine to my SGS1 without any problem. You can try it.
But I already changed to the latest one Jellybean Custom Rom from C-Rom Bean. I find this better in terms of graphics and Google applications.

can you update the OS on an unlocked skyrocket? (& Q about bluetooth)

I'm considering getting the skyrocket or the gnex. I've used the gs2 epic 4g a bunch and like Samsung's style and the look of the gs2...I'm going to use this on straight talk, so I'm wondering, how would you upgrade from gingerbread to ice cream sandwich or Ics to jb without using roms? Is it with the kies software? The skyrocket will get JB officially, right? I thought I saw an announcement about it and other devices including the gs3 getting jb before 2013.
Also, until you get the official Ics (or some other rom) are the Bluetooth protocols messed up making it difficult or impossible to use bt contollers like ps3 or wiimotes without flashing another rom or patch? I know on my gf's gs2 with Ics (all stock) wiimotes work great. Thanks for the help.

okay lets make sure im ont the right page currently your on S.T. and you wanna upgrade from GB to ICS and them possibly JB sound okay lets get on with it.
first off you can upgrade your service from GB to ICS using the Kies software however there are flashables such as Mohans Stock ICS check in the thread. However your will have to set back up your phone to run S.T. again because each update will change the setting to the Most up to date ATT/Rogers Data. next you run the possible risk that the new radio installed on the from the ICS will not work with you using a new one for S.T. ( now this is more of a maybe i dont have S.T> so dont kow exactly how there radios work) next you have to redo the APN in order to get data and MMS properly.
as far as JB there as been word and flutter but ive heard from several sources yes and others No so until further notice im gonna yes with a ?!
but most likely in order to get JB you will have to update thru KIES if not then someone Amazing DEV will make a flashable but you will still have to set the phone back up to S.T.
as far a BT goes i personally use my wiimotes for my emulators and there always work without issues dont have a PS3 so i cant speak on that one
Interesting, so if it was an unlocked at&t skyrocket set up with a straight talk sim, the system could lock me back out and reverting the phone to only work with at&t again? If thats the case that would be something very important to consider in the gs2 vs gnex choice for me.
I will end up rooting my device and probably end up flashing various roms after I learn about them more and understand what I am doing, but starting out with an optimized and current OS is what I'd like first. I guess even though I like the look and feel of the s2 the easier use on prepaid service with a gnex may benefit me greater. I don't know how I'll feel about fhe gnex soft keys on the screen and on a tv using hdmi. Thanks for the info.
And I saw an article about 2 weeks ago where Samsung said the s2 and s3 along with a few other phones and a couple tablets but none of the galaxy players would get jb before 2013.
You don't need to root the skyrocket to flash custom ROMs, all u need to do is flash cwm or twrp with Odin then flash custom roms

Is there a 4.0 Stock International ROM or Firmware

My boss gave me his galaxy s2 skyrocket to flash
i was originally running JB 4.1 on a custom rom, but i tried like 2 roms and they were to buggy for him and not stable
so since i couldnt find a really stable JB 4.1
hes asked to see if i can find the 4.0 Firmware of this phone but for the INTERNATIONAL version
I wasn't even aware the Skyrocket had a international version
What do you guys think
?
Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE comes in:
ATT: SGH-i727
T-Mobile: SGH-T898
Rogers: SGH-i727R
International: GT-I9210/T
ATT & Rogers are easily interchangable, the Hercules (SGH-T898) may need a little tweaking to get it working right but not too sure on the international version, I've heard people flashing the international version with CM9 for the SR but haven't heard of anyone flashing the International version of ICS to the SR.
The hardware is identical with only difference being the CPU Model# which is the same CPU they used on the T-Mobile version (APQ8060) vs (MSM8260).
Really its best to flash only the ROMs that are made for your phone but if the hardware is similar you can probably do it but I don't see why you want to.
If he wants he can use AT&T stock, CM9 or a custom ROM.
Does he want something from the international version of ICS?
Remember using a different ROM for a different phone you will need to have a different Modem and may have a chance to brick so only do at your own risk.

He wants international so he can get be able to Text in Chinese etc etc
When I upgraded him to 4.1 the Chinese stuff was all good to goo
Had issues getting it to work on 4.0, the text would come out in Chinese, but the receiver would get a bunch of symbols, like i said upgrading to 4.1 fixed this, i think 4.1 and more languages or something
Thats why he wants international, he travels a lot as well so its convenient.

I've flashed several phones with several roms, I have my own Galaxy S3 running perfect on a AOKP rom
When i flashed my bosses phone I did the usual, wipe data/ dalvik / factory reset / flash rom
First ROM i used was Superlite, phone would go black and would require force shut off, this would happen randomly during idle or something or overnight
So i switched to SKYJB 5.0
no more screen hanging up black but got screen flickering issues, so i went into dev options and checked the H/W option..
as of now he took the phone back since he said that was the real issue.
Which rom would you recommend that runs very stable?
things have changed, like i said all new cm10 are stable, well mine is which is superlite v7.0, but that one has no chinese support, but superheavy does, cm10 is 4.1
as for international, he just has to worry about the radio and apns
So which CM10 would you suggest? specifically

not a good question to ask on this forum, "which is best", read the individual rom threads and see which ones would suit your/his needs, but since i only use my rom, then superheavy should fulfill his needs, its posted on my sig for superlite

I'm about to flash your Superheavy rom. I believe i might be on a custom kernel, could you point me a stock kernel or kernal that runs great on your rom? Thanks

CyanogenMod 10.1 Discussion

Figured I would start a thread for us Canadian I337 S4 owners, since our devices come bootloader unlocked and we are able to load the experimental ROMs at this time.
So far, I've rooted and loaded CWM Touch recovery via ROM Manager. About to install CM now and give it a spin. I'll be back with my findings after a bit of playing around.

I would be curious to know if the ghosting and black crush issues are the same on CM10 as on the stock since some people say it's a software issue while others contend it's the screen itself. Also, I'm pretty jealous that you Canadian SIV owners get to try this stuff out already.

No ghosting here! And man, I forgot how fast and smooth AOSP is. Can't wait until this thing hits stable status.
Wifi doesn't work on mine. Also, hangs during GAPPS 'Welcome' process, using goo.im's 10.1 gapps.

Anyone experiencing Wifi issues after upgrading to last nights nightly build on the Samsung Galaxy S4 on ATT? May have to revert to 20130610 or 09...

[Q] simple question needing a simple answer.

When android rolls out with 4.3, will users with the galaxy tab 2 10.1 still be supported as far as development with custom ROMs goes? Without making anyone mad here I'm going to ask another way... Will I ever see android 4.3 on a tablet I purchased a little over a month ago? It is keeping me up all night searching for answers and I'm at my ropes end.
Thanks for reading.
P.s I should have sprung the extra hunskie for the note 2 huh?

The custom roms will always be there...if the hardware will allow it we'll get the update here...I've seen many older devices getting jelly bean although they were officialy left on gingerbread or even froyo

Yeah, even the boost zte warp now has a buggy jellybean, and Ly-f1 clones (cheap alwinner tabs) were getting jellybean ROMs very shortly after the source was released, so i agree the prospects look good.

i already have 4.2 based ROMs for my RazrM, and it's still on 4.1.2. If there's an update pushed for the Tab, it will be developed and released in custom ROMs. If the OTA isn't pushed to the Tab, I can almost guarantee there will still be aftermarket ROMs based off 4.3 or 5.0 or whatever comes out next. Truthfully, I don't know why you are losing sleep over this.
