[Q] Galaxy tab 7.0" tablet UI? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
This has been probably asked several times, but I have searched here and there and couldn't find a working solution.. I'm trying to get my Galaxy tab 2 running rooted jelly bean 4.2.2 by sungsonic to tablet UI mode.
However it seems that the Xposed tabletUI mod is not working with the 4.2.2 jelly bean, neither is editing density in the build.prop
Any ideas?

The only ROM with a working version of tablet UI is Paranoid Android and other variants of it. Since Sungsonic is based off of the stock ROM, I doubt you will be able to force it to that UI.

my p3113 flashed CM 10.1 with a tabletUI patch which found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2154075
it works fine.

[Q] Want suggestions for Custom ROM for Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113 (wifi)

Hi, Newbie here.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 model GT-P5113 wifi only tablet. Runs original out of box Samsung OEM ICS 4.0.4, rooted, with CWM Recovery v6.0.1.2.
I'd like to install a custom Jelly Bean ROM. I'd like one where everything works: GPS, camera, google apps, wifi, bluetooth, etc. I really don't know where to start or what to look for or even what to ask for when it comes to picking out a custom ROM. Suggestions and links are very appreciated!
Also, can I somehow somewhere get just plain AOSP Jelly Bean 4.1 ROM and install it?
Thanks.

Error when updating samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 to jelly bean

Hello xda-developers!
Well here is my situation. I just got my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 about 1 week ago (Southern California, USA) and the first thing I did was root the device so that I could enable all features and do things like install linux/busybox.
Okay so just the other day i was looking at my notifications and it said that there was a software update. I figured that this was probably samsung's official jelly bean and i was excited to update so I downloaded the software it was around 330MB's. After the download it asked me if i wanted to install now or install later and i choose now and afterwards the device rebooted and it booted into CMW-Recovery and i got this error.
E:failed to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Now i heard that i am getting this error because this "software update" is not "officially" signed by Samsung. I don't know if that is true or not...
So i have a couple of questions...
One, is this update for jelly bean?
Two, how can i go about updating to jelly bean?
Three. is my rooted status blocking this update?
Four, is it possible to root the device after the jelly bean update?
If anyone can assist me with this error that I am getting I would really really appreciate it. I am not sure where to go from here.
I thank you all for your time and assistance.

which option do you guys/gals think is better?
Okay so i have been doing a bit of research on this forum and what I have learned is that since I rooted my galaxy tab 2 10.1 which is running Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4 ICS) that I can not update Samsung's official jelly bean update.
Is this true?
If it is true...it seems I have a few options.
One of the options that I have is that I can install a custom Jelly Bean Rom using Clock Work Mod Recovery or Samsung Kies. However, I am not sure which rom to use, and I have heard that using a custom rom you can run into issues when upgrading the Samsung Galaxy tab 2 10.1 to Jelly Bean, one of the issues being that "sound" will not work. Is this true?
Okay second thing that I am wondering is do you think if i booted into Clock Work Mod Recovery and choose the option to restore my galaxy tab
to stock firmware (a factory reset) then could i use the software update option to upgrade to Samsung's official Jelly Bean update and then root it after my tablet has been updated to Jelly Bean?
Which option do you think would be better?
Also can anyone possibly provide a tutorial on how to upgrade jelly bean with the samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 model GT-P5113 so that I can take
a look, I am not sure how to update it.
I would love to find a tutorial for using either CWM or Samsung Kies.
I thank you all for your time and help...

Well after careful consideration i decided that my best option was to download Android Jelly Bean version 4.2.1 from Cyanogenmod nightly builds and i was able to flash the custom JB rom and flash Google apps. I decided to go this route so that I could get the excellent Jelly Bean update and I also get to keep my tablet rooted and not have to root it all over again.
Here is an excellent guide on how to install the Jelly Bean update version 4.2.1
http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.php/CyanogenMod10.1:GT-P5110:How_to_install
It was quite easy to install and I have been using JB for about 1 day now and I don't have any complaints. The nightly build is working quite well for me...
That tutorial says its for the samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 GT-p5110 but i have the model GT-P5113 and it the install guide still worked without any issues.
If anyone has any questions about updating to this version of Jelly Bean or needs any help with the installation process i would be more than happy to help out...
Thanks to all who responded...

[Q] horizontal calibration / auto rotation JB 4.1.2

Hello,
I have a SGS2 I9100G I installed the ROM superNexus 2.0 (android 4.2.2) I noticed that there is a problem of auto screen rotation. So I flashed the STOCK ROM samsung (4.1.2) with ODIN. But I noticed that the problem persists even with the STOCK ROM (before that I installed supernexus I was on the STOCK ROM and no problem).
I run a game (car racing) and the car is always inclined . Brief apparently it is a problem of horizontal calibration but unfortunately this option was removed in jelly bean 4.1.2
can it be reactivated in JB 4.1.2 ??
or can I do the calibration differently?
there are those that have had the same problem and did a downgrade to 2.3.6 Jinger bread -> calibrate and then they returned to JB 4.1.2
But I do not know how to downgrade then upgrade.
I need your help please. My GS2 is too bad like that

I believe you're confused. Stock ROM for this device has Touchwiz installed. Maybe you mean an AOSP-based ROM (pure Android). As far as I know that doesn't exists.
Yeah I actually meant an original ROM Like Cyanogen or AOKP which have no touchwiz, htcsense, nova launcher installed.
No stratos, It is only Samsung FW I tried installing it through Samsung kies but what it did is only factory reset my phone, reinstall bloatware, etc and nothing more. It did not remove touchwiz. I want classic android touch like LG or Google nexus.
After searching a while I found this one :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-core/general/mod-galaxy-core-2-g355h-stock-rom-t3031234
I will try flashing this rom in my core 2 and let you know.
Thanks for the help guys but I think I need to search more

From what I'm finding, or rather, what I'm not finding... There isn't and never was a lollipop custom ROM or any other ROM for your device. The links you found about updating to lollipop aren't "dead", they are fake because lollipop never existed for this device. I think there may have been a CyanogenMod 10.1 custom ROM but that is a Jelly Bean ROM, you already have Jelly Bean.
