Notification without vibrate - Sony Smartwatch

Not a big issue, but I have being searching for a way to receive my (text) notification (see message on screen) without it vibrating.
I'm sure vibrating without notification (lighting up the screen) would be a good option too.
If there is something out there that already has this option, please let me know.
If not, I'm sure it would be profitable if a developer whip this up

So... your title is "Notification without vibrate". but in the post, you say "vibrating without notification"??
Only vibrate or only notification, which you want?

Please read before posting. I'm sure that was made very clear.
The subject of a message does not exclusively define the body of that message.

good way
it is good way to do it
but some how hard

Missed call notification

Small annoyence...
Is there anyway to disable the missed call notification when you press "ignore" on a call? So that I don't need to press ignore, then notification left softkey, then dismiss right softkey everytime i ignore a call
It would be useful that way the notification icon would only appear when I acually miss something or get SMS.

I hate that too. I've been trying to mess with all kinds of things to no avail.
No one? /bump
-Oops double post
Or what about something that when "ignore" is pressed the call is forwarded to another number something that you can set up a recording like "please *** k Off" or the rejected number
Same problem.
If You set up some call filter then you have one ring, then reject call if You do not want to answer, then You have notificitaion for rejected call.
this looks like a feature that could and should be included into PhoneAlarm...maybe we should request on their forum
I need help for fix too

message indicator light question??

hi all,
Quick question..... when i receive an sms/mms or email my TP will of course notify me with a sound and pop up message. However when i dont open the message and select dismiss, the notification disappears but the dame center notification light still lights up until i open the message itself... is there anyway to stop this?
By me pressing dismiss, i know there is an unread message so why the flashing light still, i think this is stupid? if i dont click dismiss then yes, i agree the light should notify me there are unread messages .... what if i just dont want to open some messages... then the light will light up forever??
anyone agree and have a fix?
thx
you can set how long you want the light to flash under sounds/notifications I think

yes that is true but doesnt stop my problem when i dismess the notification but not look at the sms.... keeps on flashing like the energizer bunny non stop ....
i think its just life and this cannot be solved.. either u have it on of off and as long as u have sms in ur box, it will keep flashing no matter what... sigh
thanks for the reply friend
The light goes off only after there are no unread messages in your inboxes. Previewing messages from the TouchFlo interface doesn't mark them as read.

Well, it is there to remind you that you still have unread sms. If you really want to remove the notification, just select "Mark as read" instead of "Dismiss". Anyway, WM has a bug whereby even when you select "Mark as read", it is not marked as read. This bug is introduced since WM6.

Actually, previewing the messages from the TouchFlo 3D interface did mark the messages as read. It must fulfil the time out though, it must be displayed for about 3 seconds.

Mine's not grayed out... but my point is that if I press "Dismiss" after I get a sms, the light should NOT flash anymore as I know there is unread messages and I dont want to read it at that time. The light "should" flash if I dont open the sms, or select dismiss or marked as read.... As long as I dont select anything, the light should flash but if I select anything at all, the light should NOT flash..... is my point. WM didn't really think this point through....
ie. Nokia or any other make of phones... when u get a sms, you have a notification... after you dismiss the notification you dont keep getting other notifications (lights or sounds) do you? Of course not because you already know you have unread messages.... only after you receive new messages do the notifications come back.. that maks sense but WM on this front does not.
mine is grayed out- anyone know why?
Mine is greyed out as well, anyone know why?

[Q] Xoom Notifications

Hello everyone. I was wondering if there is a way to enable notifications (specifically those of the led) on the xoom while the screen is on. I know by default they only show up when it is not in use, but i dont know how many times i have missed a gtalk message or an important email because i was watching a movie and forgot to occasionally tap on the clock. There has to be an easier way than constantly checking my notifications to make sure i didnt miss anything. And one last thing, while we are on the topic of notifications; is there a way to do a "clear all" for the notifications?
Thanks,
Ryan

No clear all notifications. Many complaints on that already.
I think the idea was that if the screen is on, you will already see the notifications appear in the lower right bar. But I would also like to see the LED light blink as well. But I kind of feel lucky with what it is because my Samsung Captivate does not even have a notification LED at all and from what I hear, neither does the new Asus Transformer tablet. I am not sure why LED notification lights are so low priority with these devices as I feel it is a must.

New Android user, Notifications Question

I just came from an iPhone 4 and this is my first Android phone (I've used a touchpad with CM9) and I have a fairly simple question which I can't seem to figure out.
When you receive an SMS, or any notification for that matter, the phone will beep or vibrate but the screen remains black.
How can I change the settings to have the screen light up and show the notification I just received like iOS does. I assumed this would just be a standard setting but after searching the phone and internet for about 10 minutes I gave up.
Thank You and sorry for the noobiness. Plz dont kill me I swear im not trolling.

i'm guessing he means without 3rd party apps... in which case, i don't think it's possible - at least until we get custom roms.
that's one thing i really miss about my GSII - that, and BLN. the LED on this HOX is so small, i tend to miss it, even if it's blinking.
So wait, your telling me there's no feature built into ICS that makes any sort of a notification pop up on screen on? That's absolutely ridiculous. What am I supposed to do for push emails? Just listen to the beep and have to go toggle the screen each time I get one to see if its important or not?

you should still get the notifications if your screen is on... i thought you were talking about making SMS and emails light up the display on your screen when the screen is off and you're not using the phone. if you are using the phone, and you get an SMS or email - assuming you are not currently in either of those programs - you should still get a notification.
if you are in fact talking about getting the screen to light up when you receive SMS or email and the screen is off... then yeah, unfortunately, you just have to hear the tone or feel the vibration, and if you miss that, look for the LED. eventually there will be support for making the screen light up, and even BLN (back light notification - where the capacitative keys light up when you receive a SMS or email) - but it's going to take custom kernels for that stuff to happen.

it is kinda bad... for now.
once the bootloaders are unlocked, the real fun will begin, and this stuff will be no problem to implement into custom roms. just gotta be patient for a little bit.

Um, you had to do the same thing with an iPhone. If you missed the initial screen turn on you had to do exactly that. Toggle the screen. Before iOS 5 it was even worse. So calm down and explore your HOX. While you will have to toggle your screen, to make up for it you can customize your lockscreen to quickly allow you to see certain notifications.
If you go to settings -> personalize -> lock screen style and select productivity you'll be able to keep track of your notifications extremely easily.
Otherwise yeah, an easily installed, non-invasive app can quickly fix your problem. If a text makeover isn't what you want check out an app called SMS Flash. It's my favorite least intrusive UI notification pop up. You can't reply from it like you could from SMS Popup or Go SMS Pro pop up notifications, but it does show you them and is slightly customizable.
If you go into the messaging app, then go to settings > notifications. There is an option called notification preview. This will turn on the screen and show you a preview of the SMS you just received.
Also under Personalize > Lockscreen, then select the second option called productivity. This will list all of your active notifications on the screen similar to iOS.
You can also access the notification tray from the lockscreen, provided you don't have any sort of security on (PIN, Pass, Etc).
I also think you're being a bit nit picky about not having the screen light up for every notification. That is just as easy to miss as anything else. You have to be looking at the phone to see that. If I'm working on the computer the sound of a tone or vibrate is much more likely to get my attention. You turn the screen on to check the notification when you're ready... I don't really see a problem. Turning the screen on for anything other than incoming calls/texts seems like a waste of battery to me.
Android is a bit different in that the options aren't centralized. Options for notifications are within each app itself. Some apps (like Facebook app Friendcaster) may include optional popup notifications.

pretty sure that SMS option won't make your screen light up when you receive texts... all it does is place the notification in a square in the middle of your lockscreen, so that when you hit the power button to unlock your phone, you see that square on your lockscreen, rather than having to look for the little icon in the upper left corner of your notification bar.
You get a notification up top....fyi you can pull down the notification bar down and check whatever on the lock screen. You don't actually have to unlock this phone to access notification bar. Love it. My infuse was not the same.

i actually prefer it NOT to be built in to the OS....i have this thing called CHOICE here in the Android world....and I choose NOT to have that feature baked in....i dont want my screen coming on at all, unless i tell it to.....i fail to see how having a third party app that handles this, a bad mark
Handcent SMS is a really good messaging app (better than default IMO). It has a setting that turns the screen on when a message is received. I'm not sure about email because I have never bothered to look for an alternative.
@Pirateghost What if you still had the CHOICE to install a 3rd party app that kept your screen off? Everyone has different preferences, and the OP is upset it isn't available in the stock app. Seems reasonable to me.

Although it would be nice to make your own custom lockscreen style, that has like the weather and productivity combined

Agreed.
Secondly, unless the phone is directly in front of you at all times and you're able to see the screen light up right then and there, then I don't see a difference. If the phone is in your pocket and the screen lights up but you failed to hear the notification, you're still screwed.

Won't get a notification and/or vibration when I get a message

It has been like this for awhile, but it hasn't really been bothering me I guess until now I realized the importance of it, which I should of done this long ago cause it's been like this for a couple of months. Notifications are on, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
So, with notiication, do you mean just the sound and vibration? Or also the message in the upper tray?
It's not much information. So here are some possibilities:
- you have installed a skin and have not selected any sounds.
- in the accessability men you have set: play no sounds/feedback at all (it's for deaf people)
- You have some kind of do not disturb mode on, without the notification in the tray saying so.
- You have backgrond syncing of, and now apps only sync when you use them. So you get no notification.
- sound settings and vibration settings are off (not likely of course)
- the phone is instructed to play notifications to another device (watch or some other bluetooth device)
- your phone is not working properly. Try to restore to factory default and see if it is something in the software, or hardware. If not working after reset, ==> waranty
EDIT: in the title you say: when I get a message. you mean text message? NOtification sounds can be changed. Sms messages can have their own sounds en settings. It's in the sound menu.

Alright this may help or not, but let's say you message me thru the default standard messaging thru the phone. Usually, the recipient would get a notification of that message, shortly after being sent depending on the area's signal. I, however do not get a notification, vibration, ring, I do not get anything that notifies me in any way that I got that message, so I could being doing whatever on my phone, receive an important message about work or something, and never know about it. However I do have Smart Launcher and the messaging icon does have notification numbers to the top left of it, but that doesn't help really.

Where did you check if notifications were enabled. In settings AND in the app itself? you can also try to clear cache and storage of the app.
Ok I'm dumb notifications were on when I went thru messaging, but when I went thru the application manager they weren't on. Honestly don't remember how that'd happened, but thanks for the help bro.
