[Q] Help, can't access download mode - Samsung Galaxy SL i9003

I have a galaxy s GT-I9003 that is facing a boot loop, i tried factory resetting it but no luck. Then i was going to try to reflash it but the download mode now doesn't load ,when i am holding the volume down + power+home button it shows a black blank screen but nothing and if i remove my fingers it just boots normally shows the samsung logo and keeps rebooting. I tried volume up +power... and volume up + down+power... but nothing seems to work. I would appreciate some help with this issue.
Thanks in advance

Remove the battery. Insert the battery. Now do the steps you are trying.

Is your phone a brand new device? Have you ever mounted a custom rom on it? Because on some new slc device (like mine) download mode is "factory locked" and you have to enable it with adb. Look around for the correct guide.

constant reboot

my galaxy just wont boot anymore i can only see the boot logo and then restart again try to put it into download mode it boots into download mode but after a few seconds it reboot again into a boot loop.i tried to pull out the battery but once i put it back again it opens up and boot even if i didnt press the power button.Anyone encounter this same problem?any help is appreciated
Since the phone boots without pressing the power button it must be a hardware problem but you could try putting it into forced upload mode by pressing the volume up, home button, and power button. Then try flashing a ROM.
Click thanks if I helped.

remove the batt and leave your phone for 1-2 hours and then put it back again n see what happened..
try to get into recovery and wipe data/ cache / delvic-cache .. if its not worked then got to download mode and flash new rom...
It starts if you put the battery in? And won't stay in download mode? Maybe a faulty power button, constantly pressed? Maybe worth checking, opening up our G3 is really easy.
If none of these options work, take it in for repair

Force upload to flash
(Vol^ + home + power button)
(If it works then you are on the easier side)
Start the phone in force upload and then connect the usb through odin
Flash zero fill.tar
Wipe data, cache and dalvik
Reboot in download
Flash another rom.

It reboots after a few seconds in download mode. Would you try flashing in that situation? Serious hardbrick risk that.

You cant flash a rom if the phone isnt in download mode. Odin wont recognise it.
Press thanks if I helped.
'Download mode' (vol DOWN + home + power ) and 'Force Upload mode' (vol UP + home + power ) being two different modes have slightly different capacities.
Mostly when download mode doesn't work, the force upload does work in case of flashing ROM.

But it looks like a hardware problem so all he can do.is replace the power button

Apologies, I did not know that force upload mode even exists! You really got me there... what purpose has this mode?
I know it's OT, short comment or link will satisfy me^^

Nexus 5 stuck in boot loop and cant access boot loader

i flashed the latest nightly of AOKP today and then restored all my apps and data with titanium backup. When the restore was complete it prompted me to reboot my device so i did. ever since then i have been unable to reboot my phone as it is stuck on the start up screen. i then tried to restore from a backup of my other rom and then found out that i couldn't boot into the boot loader as when i held down the power and + volume button the startup would begin and then the phone would turn off. any ideas on how to fix this.
What it's happening is your stuck in a boot loop.
When you are holding power and volume down the phone is only interested in the power button part. Which is why it's powering off.
Just keep the buttons held both power and volume down. When it powers off keep them held and you should come into the bootloader

I have tried that but it just goes tocthe Google screen then turns off again

Not sure if the quote is a typo or not, but it should be power and - volume. You can also try power and both volume buttons, which will take you to the secondary boot loader.

I assumed the op was able to completely power down by just continuing to hold the power button and possibly had the wrong button combo.
What do you mean by start up screen?
You see the screen tells you "Google" and it stays there?

Hi guys.
Sorry for bumping but I have the same issue and for me it wasn't fixed by going in recovery mode. I already tried deleting cash, and even tried getting back to factory settings. But still, when i restart the phone, the same loop keeps occuring.
At first it always just went to 'google' and then rebooted and rebooted. Now it just keeps stuck with the google logo (the 4 colour image).
Could someone help me possibly?
Thanks in advance

Hi Kevin,
Try LG flashtool. Link in my signature. If you have the 32GB version of the american nexus 5 (D820) you can use the converted firmware without any problem. It was tested numerous time.
You can also try to reflash stock google rom in fastboot mode http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701
If you are using LG flashtool and you get error about cant format userdata and/or cache or by checking the flashing log you see timeout errors then your phone have a fauilty emmc. If you are using the fastboot method and you see "remote: flash write failure" text in the CMD window then you have fauilty emmc. Your only option is to rma your phone if bought from google or claim your warranty from LG if your phone is not from Google and you have the receipt of your phone.

Loop boot without a root. Help needed.

Suddenly my phone (z710e) jumped into a loop boot.
It's not rooted, no custom stuff, no custom bootloader.
It loads fine, but after 1-2 seconds reboots.
I've already tried to unbrick it with no result, computer can't see my phone.
Help with an advice or a link or anything useful will be great!
Thanks!

If i remember correctly you can wipe cache from the stock recovery. Boot into hboot by holding down volume down and power. Use the volume buttons to highlight recovery and press power. Then you will see a little android or a red exclamation in a triangle. Press the volume buttons and power until options appear on the screen. If it gives you wipe cache, them wipe it. Other wipe options may/will remove your personal data so use caution and know the risks

Okay, remove your battery then replace after 10 seconds. Then hold volume down first, then while volume down is still depressed begin holding power as well. If you see the htc splash screen then it has failed. Battery pull and try again. Have you ever used adb on this device?

Edit: removed incorrect data.

it doesn't matter if you have fastboot enabled
you can still have access to the bootloader when removing battery and putting it back

I've tried to remove battery and reboot before, nothing changed.
adb - no, did not used
Solution was - to disassemble it and assemble... After that phone booted normally. :victory:
Thank you all for your replies!

Bootloop, no Recovery, no Download

Hello,
sorry that I have to bother you with this.
I had a S6 (G920F) with Maniacx Ressurection Remix Unofficial OREO 6.10 , with Magisk 7.10 and TWRP 3.2.1 running.
Because of a problem with calls, I flashed a .zip that fixed the problem before (it's CallAudioFix.zip in that thread – can't find it right now, but I can look for it later if it's any help). That sent my phone into a bootloop.
My problem is that I can't boot into Recovery or Download mode. Windows (in a VirtualBox) finds a SAMSUNG_Android device per USB, but ODIN can't find it (doesn't show anything under ID:COM). ADB in my terminal finds the phone, but it shows it as unauthorized, so I can't use it, either.
I appreciate any help – thanks in advance!
Try pressing all botton after screen turn off press recovery combo botton fast or download mode combe ,that worked for me once when i downgraded without wiping data

Thanks for your tip, didn't work for me, sadly. If I press and hold the combination for the recovery, I get back into my bootloop. If I press the combination for download mode, nothing happens until I hold it for too long and trigger the battery disconnect (volume down + power).

I'll rather avoid trying to remove the battery for that.
If I hold all buttons, I can only get the "Samsung S6" screen to flash for a second before it goes off and on again (tried for a minute as you suggested).
I tried holding the combos before the kernel screen, directly at it and holding it for a minute, but it only sends me back to the bootloop. Also, I don't get any text on the kernel screen.
Guess I have to keep trying around for a bit...
Try after that flash appears for second to press combo fast i remember that worked for me at same state of bootloop

No luck so far with that approach yet. :/ But thanks again for the suggestion.

Samsung Galaxy a40 stuck on "powered by android" screen

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy A40 and yesterday I tried to flash LineageOS (I already have experience flashing gsi's), but when i rebooted the system, it just stuck on the "Powered by Android" screen.
It's not even rebooting, it just stays on that screen until the battery dies. So I've tried to let the battery drain and then booting into download mode after charging it a bit by pressing Vol Up + Vol Down and then plugging it into pc, but for some reason it just won't boot into download mode. What can I do now without having to risk booting into that screen and having to wait another full day again?
Hi,
You probably have to flash the latest firmware for your device.
If the phone freeze on the powered by android screen you can press and hold volume down + power and the phone will force reboot.
To reach download mode you can try this :
Turn off the device
Press and hold Volume UP key + Power Key for a while
Release all key when Samsung logo appears then you will see Android System Recovery
Select Reboot to Bootloader
Use Power key to Confirm

The easiest step is the keys but look like it doesnt work for you.
You should try to boot with different key combination get past the bootscreen, otherwise i suggest you to got to a repair center if you can't
