Hello guys, I'm a complete newbie and i have an HTC Sensation XE with beats audio Z715e running Android 4.0.3 build 3.33.401.153
and the bootloader info is

I'm assuming this is a stock version. The problem i am facing like many others is the wifi issue. Sometimes it works for a few minutes but then most of the times it just says "turning on" or simply just gives an Error. I still haven't figured out how to solve this. I know there are a lot of guides out there but a difference in the h-boot versions or S-OFF confuses me whether i should continue with a solution.
Any help is appreciated.

Wifi issue is a common problem snapping at many peope.
Did you try to pull out the pins on the back of the phone a bit? I believe disconnection is ushered by those thingies. Try this, if no chance, consider your ROM. What isnit by the way? Settings>about phone>software

Thanx for the suggestion.. i tried pulling out those pins a bit but that didn't work.
running Android 4.0.3 with sense 3.6, software number 3.33.401.153
I'm guessing that's stock.

Alright... that's gonna get a little strange then...
Your device isn't rooted so... if you're an inhabitant of a country that might have gotten wifi regional issues, reset your device while the sim is out. Don't insert it. See if it is flawless, if so, I'd say root your device and install wifix manager app.

go to system->etc->wifi and delete the wpa_supplicant.conf file
but first copy it in your sdcard just in case
see if wifi works after that
if not then flash a different rom from recovery

Assuming you have the TMOUS 4G phone the stock ROM is the 1.50 RUU with TMOUS in the name

but wanted to ask before I procced is any problem that my HTC Sensation 4G T-Mobile is Unlocked and I am using it in Europe (Albania) should I use a different RUU or the original one will be Fine...last question
If you're returning it to STOCK then you use the one it came with. However, if you're not sending it back to TMOUS (which I don't think you are) then you could just flash the EU 1.50.401.1 RUU

I re-installed the stock ROM RUU TMOUS las update...and after the first day start the problem again...the phone after making a call or recieving one powers off...I reinstall the android HD 6.5 with the android 4.0.3 everything from the beginig...the problem restarts coming up after using for the first time the mobile data network or the wifi...mean after recieving packets...and after re-powering on the battery is not the same different % of remaining...
any idea what will be the problem or what I have to do to resolve this one I have
I am going crazy!!!
Sounds like to me u need to send ur phone in cause u might have some serious problems. I mean if it's doing it on stock u got a bad phone

It starts doing it on stock after for the first time I put ICS after I put ICS starts all the problems for the first time was frozeen in boot-loop then I restored it and works fine I update the boot loader and radio and installed ICS then ICS starts great...after 2 day's start's powering-off and after that I put the android HD then Core Droid etc...because I tought that was a software problem and the problem still is happening maybe I did something wrong bhoo don't know...
I will make some other tests and then I will throw it (probably)

Hello,

My sensation 4G has decided to stop working. (HTC start up screen loops) I sent my phone to HTC but they want to take all my money. Phone repair guy says it just needs new software update, but wont do it for me. SO Ive tried flashing ROMs but it seems I dont have the correct ones. Some have CID error, some have MID error. Is this the right thing to do?
I really need to find a ROM that is compatible with my phone. I dont need anything fancy, just one that will let me text people and maybe even make a call. :crying:

Question...Can you enter in recovery...mean try to press the volume down and the power button at the same time (before remove the battery for 10 seconds) ...and check if you device is S-OFF and have any Recovery installed! If you have all of that then you can install a custom ROM with Micro-SSD card...

Yes I installed 4EXT recovery and can get into it. I have tried following some guides to get S-OFF but they always fail. Which S-OFF method should I use?

Hmm it could be your kernel and speaking of kernel whitch one are you using if I where you I would flash a different kernel ordroid has four kernels to choose from it won't hurt to try them

first of all i wanna ask something to i am using htc dev unlocked htc sensation whit costom rom before today i was using 3.6 sense roms and i decided to install a sense 4 rom while i was using wifi whit 3.6 after flash of sense 4 rom i coudnt use it at all one of my friend told me to use smartflash method rom 4tex and fastboot boot.img so i did it whit my correct rom and same kernel image but codnt get it work actualy its seems working it detects my wifi adress i can put my pass and anything but i could not use wifi shows me its connected to my home network but i cant open anything i installed mybe 10 different roms today whit anything i coudnt get wifi worked. even 3.6 sense roms not working at all i stucked whit mobile network :S

Thank you for the link, but I have been to almost every guide for wifi errors including those. I am starting to think this is a hardware error, I have dropped my senny a couple times, but I still need to run an RUU. I hope that fixes it.

Hi,
If you are convinced that it is hardware,then have you tried this:
Take the back off your phone.
Gently lift the gold pins of the antenna just above the camera lens.
See if that helps.

My brother bought a Sensation, the guy who had it had done everything but S-CID, so I S-CID. The guy had ICS Revo HD, he loaded GB Revo HD. I went back to ICS, but I don't have radio or wifi. I tried a few roms like stock Revo HD but nothing. I tried a few kernels but nothing. I know its something simple.
Pretty sure all I have to do is install RUU ICS and it will fix the issue (correct me if I am wrong). But I have to wait 2-3 hours to finish downloading RUU ICS, is there a faster way I can fix this issue?

Nah don't waste your time with the RUU... Just flash the 3.32 firmware for ICS. That's all you need.

How do I report the thread?
I did some digging and found the following.

I downloaded the first link for Tmobil 3.32, installed it, same issue.
Do I also download and install Others 1 and Others 2?
I installed the latest RUU and I still have no Radio or Wifi.
Do I need to install something else?
I installed GB RUU, I had no radio or wifi. I then allowed GB to upgrade to ICS, still no Radio or Wifi. I installed the 3.32 firmware, still no radio or wifi!

I´ve tried nearly every Rom/Radio/Kernel Combination.
Even testet a few JB Roms and RUU.
Since my Sensa XE made an update to ICS 2 Month ago
there is no chance to get WIFI work again.
With JB it worked fine.
Same with BT.
I´ve unlocked with HTC Dev and Revolutionary S-OFF.
Still hoping for a Fix or Help.

The only thing I have not tried is a RUU that has ICS. I found RUU with GB, but I recent;y found one that is ICS. Before I found the ICS RUU, I downloaded the GB RUU, installed it, and allowed it to update to ICS, but that did not fix my issue. I'm hoping that if I flash it in fastboot, might just fix it.
If it does I'll let you know! It's a slow download! 3 hours!
I also have testet with ICS RUU (RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.105_R_Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M_release_251961_signed)
but no sucsess for me.

This doesn't make any sense... It did not work! I had Hboot 1.27.0000 and radio 11.23.35.04.07_m7 after installing stock RUU and it is still not working.
What are we missing?
I started over, installed the latest Revolution HD with custom kernel, same issue. I also updated to hboot 1.27.1100.

Check the pins(lift the pins a bit) on the back of phone just above camera lens.. Also check the corresponding antennas present on back cover

Antennas look fine, raised them up a little, no change. Seems like a kernel issue though. Did my brother buy a defective phone? He spent 250 on it ;/
Any other ideas I can try?

Just wonder if it says "Error" then you are trying to turn it on?
I've got the same problem on my device after OTA update. Solved it by flashing corresponding radio + kernel.

I've tried a few radios and nothing worked. Even back to stock GB and ICS, which have the original radios, same issues.
What radio did you use?
I'm seeing more and more Wifi issue threads. Does no Dev have a fix for this issue?
I tried the above fix, the above fix is only for the phones that don't have Revolution hboot, I tried it anyways, same issue.
BUT I found out that if I disable Data, and then turn on Wifi, it works, sometimes for a few seconds other times permanently. Other times as soon as I turn on Data, Wifi goes out. Tethering seems to suffer from the same issue too. So far its happened on Revolution HD on all kernels and Energy rom. Viper didn't work but then again I did not disable data. Going to try tomorrow. I would try Cynogen but its missing Google Play app ;/
I've flashed kernels and latest firmware in fastboot, same issue. I've enabled smart flash in 4xt, same issue.
I don't know what to make of this. I'm installing ICS RUU, going back to stock, even though stock has the same issue, going to see what I can do.
Is this just a poorly design phone? Did my brother just waste 250 bucks? Also, 4g is TERRIBLY SLOW! I'm assuming its

How can I go back to a previous version or is there any other solution.

which rom and kernel u r using? try bricked 1.36 . possibly it will solve ur wifi issue.
So kernel version is 3.0.16
Build number 3.33.401.6
Android version 4.0.3
The HTC support told me to do a hard reset but I am sure it will not sort out the issue.
And btw I do not know how to install new ROMs which is what is holding me to downgrade the version.

so u r fully stock? unlocked bootloader and s off? if yes thn try to install custom roms like ARHD or Blitz 2.0 they both r awesome. and u can find details in thr forum how to install.

If you never touched your device your NOT s off you ARE s on. Completely stock is s on. If your looking for the correct guide find out your boot version which is likely 1:27... To check this pull battery put battery back in press power and volume down at the same time this will give you your information and then choose your guide from your boot version . Hope this helps.

I'll be honest and say that I will find the easy way out and buy a repeater so that I bypass my router since then hopefully I would easily get a DHCP ip from the repeater rather than from the router since the router does not give an IP to the phone.
I would still solve the problem like this. I tried to contact HTC but they are really crap....

Same problem here with HTC Sensation XL. The latest update has broken the wifi function with static IP enabled. The device can communicate with the router, but apparently cannot resolve the DNS. Consequently, no web pages open. With dynamic IP there is no problem, but for various reasons my home network has static IPs and I cannot change them to dynamic.
I tried a factory reset of the device, but, expectedly, to na avail. Just waisted my time to restore the programs and settings to what they were before the reset

Flashing custom kernel will NOT solve the issue because no custom kernel work properly with 3.33 base because htc bundled new kernel version but have not yet dropped the source for the updated kernel
I'm rooted, s-off with 1.27 and my WiFi won't even turn on now

See this thread for RADIO/RIL as you can always flash different RADIO and RIL even with changed FW but read the guides and check the MD5 sums!

Make sure you are UNLOCKED and S OFF to flash RADIO! RIL is flashed through recovery!

For whatever reason your phone didnt flash the firmware.zip so extract firmware.zip from OTA zip and rename firmware.zip to PG58IMG.zip then put this file on the root of sd card and boot into bootloader, then follow onscreen instructions to flash the new firmware.
The ota includes a new kernel so the wifi and other modules are different and because your phone didnt flash the firmware you have a module/kernel version mismatch so no wifi

After I updated to the 3.33 TMOUS firmware, just as this thread was brought up, I no longer have a steady wifi connection and it keeps freezing. I downgraded my firmware version back to 3.32 TMOUS, matched the 11.69 radio with the proper RIL and I'm STILL having the same problem with wifi. I've reverted back to several different "stable" roms that I keep and no matter what, wifi is broken. I've even tried several different kernels and it's still broken. I've tried the wifi fix app and it didn't help. What's going on here? Did upgrading to the 3.33 firmware permanently screw up the wifi on the phone because it's not working like it used to no matter what rom/kernel/firmware/radio/RIL combo I try anymore. WTF???
try lifting the golden pins on the top of the phone next to the camera, lift them very little and carefully cause they might break that help a lot of us on arhd when we had that problem also make sure they are clean since they might get dirty while taking out the cover many times for the battery reset

I have downloaded the full RUU of 3.33.401.6 but i'm a bit unsure if this will give me any wifi problems.
I there anyone who has a succesfull update with this Ruu?
I now have 3.32/s-off/rooted

Hi, I have the same questions, but found messages about a new HBOOT (1.29) version included in the RUU version. So be carefull before updating.

Lol, why does he need to be careful just because a new hboot version is bundled in the XE RUU? he wont loose S-OFF if thats what your thinking.
Also flashing RUU shouldnt give wifi problems, but if it does and you are S-OFF then you can simply download and run the 3.32.401.x RUU

I'm using sensation xe ICS (S-OFF, custom recovery 4ext)
I believe that my phone is having hardware issue that I'm thinking to send it back for repair.
It happened 1 day ago that my phone freezes 4 times in 1 days (It was completely fine since I flashed to ICS). My wifi starts unable to switch on with 'Turning Wi-Fi on' appears but nothing happens. I tried to do factory reset but doesn't help. I searched some threads that they say it might be hardware problem.
I am trying to follow the instruction from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300 (I'm not sure if this method is fine for my phone) to S-ON my phone so that I can get my warranty back. But I am stuck trying to reflash a official rom that my pc cannot detect my phone.
Can anyone help me with this please? Or is there any other way I can get back warranty?

hi mate i guess that problem is due to the rom,why dont you try to flash the rom to any stable one like ELEGANTIA or ARHD or any other stable rom and chk that this problem is still there or its gone.....
and now reverting your mobile back to S-ON is risky and once i tried it earlier and got my mob fully bricked.. but i managed to send back the bricked mob and get a replacement but i don't recommend it..

Yes, I'm not sure what I did is right.
I was trying to flash my phone using RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.32.401.105_R_Radio_11.69.3504.00U_11.22.3504.07_M_release_251961_signed.exe through pc. But the installer says that unable to detect my phone and please make sure my phone is connected to pc using usb. But my phone already connected in charge only mode.
Something more to add.
I just remembered that I accepted an update few days ago (alert pop up in phone). and my ICS is now 3.33 not 3.32.
I am trying to flash my phone back to 3.32 to see if problem still exists. But I am not sure how I can flash through sd card, my hboot now is 1.27, I have seen somewhere says that 1.27 is different
you are SOFF so you can RUN any RUU
i guess you got error 155
the problem here is you need to connect the phone in bootloader/fastboot to pc ..before running RUU
this should resolve your problem
