Hello guys,
So the new UT1 firmware was released a few days ago on the UT1 forum.
So as normal there is no release notes with the new firmware. so I was wondering if anyone has installed it yet? I'm interested to know if the new firmware has the audio passthrough option, like it shows in the printed user guide I got with the device. I've not installed the new firmware yet.
As you can see in this 3 part video review (1 setup, 2 XBMC & XMplayback, 3 Gaming), You can see the options menu on the review unit they play the hardware XBMC video playback, but no audio passthrough option. XBMC is decoding the audio DTS included onboard and passing it out of the HDMi or the SPDIFF.

Confirmed DTS/AC3 passthrough is working!
Hi,
I have installed the latest version of the Ut1 firmware and can confirm that passthrough is working, but only with the build in mediaplayer of the Ugoos Ut1.
XBMC still doesn't recognize the UT1 Passthrough driver, so the message under XBMC soundsettings is: "No Devices Found"
Is it possible for the XBMC developers to make it work?
It's because I like XBMC in combination with the possibility to stream subtitles along with Icefilms/1channel/muchmovies etc.. etc...
I know there are other ways to stream movies from within XBMC to external players, such as MXPlayer, VLC etc.. but that is not what we want.
Best way is to find a way that XBMC recognize the used drivers from the UT1, and I realy hope the XBMC developers can help us!
NOTE: I have chosen under soundsettings of the UT1 for output device the : RK29_RK1000 PASSTHROUGH

Hello DrPaultje,
Thanks for letting me know the Pass through has been enabled. I had this sneaking suspicion they would activate it when I saw it available in the manual. OK it was more of a hope
Away from home right now so won't be able to check it out for a week. Did you test XMPlayer? As that lets you change sound devices in the options menu.

does it possible?

is it possible to make it work on the tf101?
There is already one thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1261074
Theoretically it is possible, we jusd need the drivers and kernel modules
As davebugyi already mentioned, I guess this depends on availability of drivers and kernel modules.
At home, I have my tablet connected through wifi to my Windows 7 mediacenter PC running Media Portal TV-server software with an USB Anysee digital-TV tuner with DVB-T card (Dutch Digitenne, Standard resolution), also capable of DVB-C. Through the aMPdroid app I'm able to stream Live-TV, switch channels, watch EPG, record and watch recorded broadcasts on my ASUS, stream other audio/video content, some remote-control functionality to control Media Portal software on my PC, et cetera. You need BS Player Lite with the ARM7 plugin (and aMPdroid) on your tablet to be able to watch these streams. The video quality is quite good, but aMPdroid needs some development. The best thing is, I can watch a certain channel on my TV-setup and simultaneously record or watch another channel on my tablet using a single TV tuner!

If some apps say incompatible on Google play you can try to install them manually.
Search Google for the app APK eg.facebook 1.x.x apk
as for the accelerometer not working that might be a hardware problem. can you still rotate the screen?
I was looking to get this tablet, is it any good?

You need to download the XML files for the C91 Upgrade.
It's on SlateDroid - I'm still a new user so I can't post links.

This tablet is execellent for the price. The manufacturer is really serious about developments. You can visit their site zenithink.com and download the latest version of ICS designed for Zenithink tablets. They keep updatating all the time.
Zenithink C91
I just bought the Zenithink C51 (The 7 Inch Tab) and it was great except for what you just mentioned. Although it had that problem, I went and got the Zenithink C91(The 10 inch Tab). The 10 inch tab had the same problem. What I believe happened was, the tab didn't originally come with ICS so when they loaded they left out certain files. What you need to do is side load the app or find out what files are missing and load them into the tab. If your tab isn't rooted then you will need to root your tab first and then fix your issue. Hers a link on how to root your tab but pay attention. IT'S FOR ROOTING THIS TAB THATS NOT RUNNING ISC. Hopefully that helps
Anyone has impressions or feedback from this one? Seems very good from specs.

to the H.264 format, or codec under the MX Player. Although the video then you can open but not decent watch. That is, it does not really work!

With "do not look decent," you probably mean the falter of a film. But that is too slow on the wireless transmission. If you are an H.264 video format, for example, an external hard drive or from the micro SD card look it should work without problems

Cool thing ... can you really time to test whether there is root access? Thinking straight at sixaxis for ps3 controller to pair and configure ... then the problem would be solved with games. Or it works with the house also own app?

Hi all,
I'm looking for help in identifying the exact hardware of my android TV box. It was sold to me as a CS918, but it has working Bluetooth so I'm told that means its NOT a CS918.
It came with Android 4.2.2 on it, but seems to be handicapped to 720p video and all I can get out of it is stereo audio (on SPDIF). From reading various posts it seems this is a kernel issue, so I am after a custom ROM, but need to know what the hardware is before re-flashing the device.
It came preinstalled with Beyond XBMC and I have also tried official XBMC V13 (Gotham) and found both refuse to configure for anything other than 720p. The confusing thing is that the TV is reporting a 1080p signal on the HDMI.
I have attached (or tried to) an image of the PCB in hope this helps identify the hardware.
In summary, can anyone tell me what ROM will work on this device giving me 1080 and surround sound from it when I run XBMC or a variant?
Thanks
Hi Guys,
I'm looking to buy one of the android tv boxes to run as a mythtv kodi frontend in the bedroom.
One of my main priorities was something that had an active developer community and decent roms were available for it. Having looked, it seems most boxes do not even have oem roms available for them as far as i can tell.
I had basically decided on one of the s812 based boxes as they seem to offer 4k and H265 which whilst not important now, may be in the future.
So can anyone recommend a box to me?
TIA Chris
