I'm looking for an alternative for "RingerX VIP" for iPhone to use with my Android device.
On google play I found a lot of programs, but they are limited for phone calls and messages.
I need to customise the ringtone for one specific mail contact.
At home I have some MyFOx home automation system including smoke - and intrusion detection. When the system detects something an alarm goes off and an email is send to my three e-mail accounts.
But when I'm sleeping or in a meeting the phone is muted, so I will not hear that I receive an alerting email from my MyFOx home automation system.
So I want to customise a ringtone (eventually the vibration also) of an email contact so I can give it a specific ringtone, and that i can configure to also ring when the phone is muted.
So if some one knows a program that can do that, or is able to make one, I would appreciate it :good:
nobody ?
Finally found an application which responds on my demands :good:

What is the best, most full featured Phone/Ringtone app out for Windows Mobile in people's opinions?
I'm looking for something that has the features of Lightwav (http://www.toysoft.ca/lightwav.html)
Specifically I'm looking for:
1) The ability to set unique ringtones (MP3) for by either caller ID or phone number (or contact info)
2) Full screen picture caller ID (either JPEG or GIF)
3) Support for Cover Up Sounds (meaning you can make it sound like you are somewhere else (a bar, work, airport, etc., and the caller hears these sounds in the background during the call).
4) The ability to set different things to happen depending on what mode your phone is in (normal, silent, vibrate, etc.) so that if will automatically send to voicemail or send an SMS if you're on silent mode.
5) Announce incoming calls.
Anyway, please let me know what Windows Mobile apps might fit the bill for some or all of this.
Thank you.
Hi,
is there any app available that alows me to schedule a number of operations on my phone?
for example, I can set peak hours for push email on my phone, however this only allows for a single period. When I'm at work, I have my phone on silent as the constant beeping as emails are recieved would be annoying, but then this does mean that I might miss phone calls as I'm not always looking at my phone and don't see it light up. So having two periods of "push" activity would be useful.
Or, how about switching Push off if my phone is on silent. That way when I'm at work and am receiving emails on my PC, the TP isn't using the battery by also receiving emails?
anything like that out there that would let me set almost limitless options? switching other things on/off when the phone profile changes? or scheduling things to happen at more then 1 point in the day?
thanks
have a look at phone alarm (www.pocketmax.net). Allows you to schedule profile changes depending on time, location etc. Can also enable/disable push mail settings, wifi, bluetooth, sound volumes, ring tones, notifications etc for each profile.
You could have it setup so that whilst you are at work, push mail is deactivated, ringtones etc set to a mid level and a standard ring. When leaving work, push mail is enabled together with a change in the ring tone and volumes.
I think it allows you to set up 10 different profiles which can be switched manually, time based, or using location data (cell data or gps). It has a 15 day trial, so have a play andsee if it does what you want.
^^ looks similar to CommMgrPro but I don't think either will work if you're not on a GSM network. Any location based profile changer for CDMA phones? I guess I should really make a seperate thread for this.
Should work fine on non-gsm. If you can't schedule by cell tower id, here are your options:
1. set up a "work" profile. ..choose the items you want to be notified of - or not and how you want to be notified.
2. set the automated switching...that can be done by cell tower, ID, WiFi SSID, time, day or category status. Say you want the phone to ring between noon and one only and silent the rest of the work day...you can make that happen.
Say you don't want your phone to "harvest" e-mails until 5:15 pm - but not on Saturday or Sunday - you can make that happen.
Say you want the phone's alarms and sound to be loud when you drive in the car, but with a bright backlight during daylight driving and a dim backlight during nightime driving...phoneAlarm will do it.
that you manually switch to in the office. You can mute all the calls, alarms, message notifications - or just some. Soft sounds, no sounds vibrate...
My TP2 stopped making any notification of incoming text messages or e-mails. I thought that incoming e-mail/ sms was controlled by the sound control, and that when we turned single volume off, we were setting one volume for ringing and another for system.
Silly me, I thought that System was e-mail and SMS message. But it looks like it is only things like low battery. Am I correct?
Where the heck is the control for e-mail volume. Also, I am trying to make distinctive rings for some individual e-mails. I have been able to go into an individual contact, edit contact, and then go to ringtones. But will that give me an individual ringtone when they call, or can I also get an individual alert when they text or e-mail me.
Then net of my problem now is that e-mail reception is silent. Then when I get the sound back I want to know if it is possible to get individual alerts.
Thanks.
Settings>Sound>Advanced>
make sure Events and Program Notifications are checked.. and go into Notofications and go through the pull down menu and make sure new email and new txt and new mms have sounds selected and checked "play sound"
Thanks. I did not make it deep enough into Notifications.

I know there are a number of profile-type applications but as far as I know these apps set profiles that change the alerts/vibrate options only for the default Android system-wide phone or notification ringtones.
I'm looking for an application that can change the alert tones for all my individual email accounts in the gmail app, google voice, the default email app, and the phone ringtone as well. Does any such application exist? At work, I've been leaving my phone on vibrate but I often don't feel the alerts and I can't differentiate b/t the type of alerts as they are all the same. I'm hoping to have a "work" profile that uses generic pager-type sounds so that I can hear the alerts as well as be able to differentiate what type they are--ie. which email accounts are getting new email or text messages which I'm more apt to respond to quickly. This work profile is separate from my usual alert sounds, which are musical in nature and not necessary professional or fitting in this environment whereas pager tones are much more common place in my place. I don't mind manually switching profiles, the application just needs to be able to change all of them at once via some type of widget.
Thanks!
I don't believe you can get quite as specific as individual email accounts, but you can set the notification sounds to be different for each of the apps (i.e. email vs gmail vs voice vs SMS). For instance, in both Voice and GMail apps, when you go into Settings, there is an option to "Select Ringtone" in the section for Notifications settings. There should be something similar in whichever SMS app you use (even the stock messaging app, IIRC) and possibly the EMail app (I only use GMail so can't say for sure, but I would imagine so)...
you can actually change the alert tone for each individual gmail account via the settings menu when you enter each account's inbox. regardless, i already know how to do this. what i want to know is if there is a profile program that can change ALL of these settings in one fell swoop that way i can change from a work setting to a normal setting via some sort of widget.
Edit: Just saw the note: No commercial apps allowed Okay so if an admin wants to delete this thread, dunno if you count a hobbiest selling an app for under $3 and providing a nice full featured free version as well as "commercial" but that's your call not mine. I certainly don't mean to offend.
I played around with various call block / night clocks and didn't find anything to do exactly what I wanted so I wrote CallShield. You can download the Lite version that allows you to specify three blocked callers and three important callers, and purchase an unlock license for unlimited for $2.99.
It couples a ring overrider for important calls, a call blocker for calls with blocked callerid or in a block list, and a bedside clock that mutes the phone but allows important callers and texts through. Great for IT staff on call who don't want to be disturbed by anyone but work.
From the description:
Ever wished you could turn off your ringer but still let your loved ones reach you? That's what CallShield does. Maintain a list of "Important" or "Blocked" callers and CallShield will manage your ringer for you.
When your ringer is in vibrate or silent mode and an important person calls or sends you a text it will automatically activate the ringer to notify you of the event, and then revert back to the mode it was previously.
Want any of your friends to be able to text you important things without adding them all to the important list? Just tell them to add an exclamation mark to the text (that's the default.) You can customize the special code to whatever you want and optionally allow those text messages to override your ringer and ring through.
In addition, CallShield includes a bedside clock with sleep mode. Activate sleep mode and your ringer is silenced, but you can optionally allow important calls and texts to override it. This feature is great for anyone who is on call at night but doesn't want bothered by anyone else.
If you place CallShield in sleep mode, as soon as you answer an important call or exit the screen by touch it automatically disables sleep mode so you can't accidentally go through the day with your ringer off.
It's CallShield in the Android Market or at http://www.humanoidapps.com/callshield
