I am just another member of this wonderful forum and have received a great many things from the community.
Well as a starting contribution please find the AOSP camera modded to my perfection and also quality.
The file is CWM flashable and will delete your original camera and gallery form your AOSP or AOKP or CM rom.
its specifically for AOSP based Android 4.2.x and works well on any CM10.1 based rom and the alike.
Not for Touchwiz though.
There are two versions--
One without the Photosphere that has the below listed features....
Here is the list of the features -
Revamped with new interface and more options.
HDR mode
Storage Locations - Internal or External
Scene Modes - Auto, Night, Sunset, Party, Dusk-Dawn, Candlelight, Fallcolor, Landscape, Sports, Fireworks, Beach, Portrait, Snow, Back-light and Text
Focus Modes - Auto, Continuous Picture, Continuous Video, Extended, Face Detect, Face Priority, Fixed, Infinity, Macro, Portrait and Hyperfocal
Touch Focus Duration - Infinite, 30s, 20s, 15s, 10s and 5s
ISO modes - Auto, 800, 400, 200, 100 and 50
JPEG Quality - Super, High, Medium and Low
Color Effect - Aqua, Negative, Sepia, Mono and None
Burst Mode - 20 shots, 15 shots, 10 shots, 5 shots and Off
Power Shutter - Ability to take photos with Power Button pressed
Tested on Galaxy Note N7000 and Galaxy S2 with Paranoid Android and CM10.1 nightlies..
and above all credits to the community including Google, CM Team , and others for all the help and support...

YOU CAN FLASH BOTH THE CAMERA mods, the only problem is you'll have 2 Camera apps and also 2 Gallery apps.

will dis work on CM9.1?
no. as stated above it works only with android 4.2.x or above. so it will not work wit cm 9.1 as it is 4.0.x.

no mate as of now I don't have sphere in this as I tested only on my note which actually does not support sphere by way of the aosp code

but it's not work on my CM10 as sony didn't released sources for camera driver, so i can only use camera app from ICS / CM9 on my device..

But this is only a Camera modded with Photosphere.. fully working...
But it breaks the Video Recording,
I tried doing this so many times, but Video Recording force closes....

Is it a software or hardware thing? I mean the noise and shutter delay and video/picture quality. Do you think it can fix via software update in the future? Or we should accept rightnow that the sony advertisment of XL is not true.
I also compared the front facing camera of samsung galaxy s3 mini and Xperia L. The s3 mini has better quality when it comes to low light.
It's a software thing. Many people said that there is a diffrence between quality of photos on dirrent software update's. Defently Sony will fix it.

I am at 1.36 and quality is way better but video recording will go lag on low light

Yup I tried different 3rd party camera apps but they all lag on low light. on .17 this is fixed
Ahh. I will wait for the new update. I hope this camera problem in .17 will be fix. Do you still using .36 fw now?
Is there any app that will correct the noisy images of Xperia L?
My phones has the latest official update but photos are still grainy
Use snap cam. It's much better than the stock one. Just change some settings manually and you're good to go. Also the autofocus work well.

I haven't used cm11 so can't tell. Stock works good for me.
Try adjusting the white balance for different lighting situations. Use ISO 100 or 200 if you are clicking outside with enough lighting.
Also you can try using different saturation and contrast levels till you get a perfect picture. I can't tell you the exact values since these vary with lighting.

Even I tried some but they didn't work for me either. Their working depends on the framework itself and thus they don't work with other devices most of the time.

i'm searching a good app to take some good pics, the google camera has got some annoying bugs for example the focus. What do you use?

Try using Pro Capture, in time I've seen Camera 360 take better shots, but I hate it burst the flash even when I'm not taking pictures.

Stock seems fine to me, used ProCapture before.
Stock just keeps getting better for me.

+1 to snap, simple and lovely app..
Really the only thing I'd like is a burst mode. I like that when taking pics of the kids playing. Otherwise I used very few features of my old sammy cameras so the stock app is fine for me. I don't suppose there's any way to add a burst mode to it - any mods or anything?

Same here. I've purchased quite a few and none beat this combo for IQ. We really are at the mercy of the hardware.
Just got Lollipop, retried FV5, and definitely love its manual iso and exposure time control, as well as raw dng support. Processing the dng files with PS express, I get great results in low light, noticeably better than stock hdr+. You can browse thru the dngs with slingshot and share/ send them to PS express
Camera FV-5 only support PNG (for now), not DNG.
I hace FV5 v2.23, not sure whether it is beta still, but it does support everything I said in full resolution on lollipop nexus5.

This is my first post but i think some one will find it useful. Ukrainian developer going by the username B-S-G has modded the google pixel hdr camera app to work on snapdragon x820-x835 processors.
i have tested this on the leeco tv max x820 and it works perfect.#
but first i had to remove the stock camera via root uninstall system apps (see playstore).
i have attached a link to the camera app below.

Yeah, but all cameras on N ROMs have some sort of quirk for me. Maybe just takes some playing around with. Cam is only in bata, I'm guessing all cams will get better with time/source released....

I loaded onto my phone last night and it works just fine, even slo-mo video. I'm running Resurrection Remix-Nougat 5.8.4-20170813.
I've included a sample HDR+ photo, below, that was taken in relatively low light...

Cool , is it possible for you to have the same photo with hdr+ on and off so we can see how good it is?
Tested on my device, and its fantastic photos, even using flash only.

You're welcome. I was actually somewhat surprised at the difference it made for low light shoots. I'd normally switch to manual for something like that...

Google's hdr+ algorithm was praised a lot ... It seems to be working properly. Any problems with other modes of the camera...?
Can confirm that it crashes on EUI. Should I delete stock camera to make it work or?

i just installed RR just to test google camera and hdr+ ... i was on Crisbal's 26 v5 ...
Video works 1080p, panorama works, i will use alittle bit...
It's not work here (cuoco rom).

Don't think it will work on EUI, only on N-based ROMs.
video sound record is low
Not working on RR 5.8.4 build says every time app/package is corrupted.
Devs have done awsome work porting gcam..!many features are working but not all we need developers who Port these mod specifically for our devices there are many threads for gcam mods but in this we would like if some gives us stable mod for our devices the hardware is awsome but no support from the company (not much)
So I request u Devs please improvise the mods for max Pro m2 with all features working like black rider 555 did for Nokia 7plus..…!

That's works on Stock stable Pie Rom !!
if You get Green photos form the front camera... You just go to settings change front camera pixel 3 xl to nexus 6p.
that's it !!

Photo > advanced > base settings bro.
How do we fix the auto rotation of the panorama? It rotates in such a way the it only allows us to take photos sideways. Not up and down

This works amazing but wer did u get it its not available in arnova page for Google ports every options are working front cam and photobooth...!

Ouch. Other units can take photos in panorama in upwards direction by rotating their devices.
The photosphere cant take decent photos. ? I hope there are ways as our units dont have panorama by default.

? Panorama and photosphere have the same quality. If you want to take panorama pictures upwards just download other camera apps that supports it.

Im sorry but photosphere tends to distort pictures as it wants to make pictures a sphere vs panorama, it makes the pictures flat. Or am i using it wrong? Its technically not as good as taking panorama

Use the 3rd setting on the phto sphere. There are many options to choose. The 3rd one is probably you are looking for.
