Mikrofon not working on calls - HTC Desire S

Hey.
When someone calls me or I call someone, I can hear the other person but they can not hear me. It's same on Viber.
My mikrofon is working because I tried recording audio, video, etc and it all worked perfectly.
I have a HTC Desire S, Custom Rom (Android 4.2.1), CyanogenMod 10.1 Saga-04.
I don't know if I got the important specs but tell me if you need to know something more. So, does anyone know what's wrong?
Regards,
Znipy

You have a really out-dated version of the ROM. Try to update it to newer versions and see if it's fixed.

Thanks for the tip but it worked a couple of days ago so I'm not sure if it's because of the ROM. Although, I'll update and see if it gets fixed.

Be sure to report here, whether it's fixed or not. If it isn't fixed even after that, then, you should flash another kernel, like AndromadusMod to see if that helps. If that doesn't help either, then, I guess it should be some kind of hardware issue.

Okey, I tried several ROM's and some (most of them) didn't even work and on one ROM I couldn't even recive calls. I got tired of that so I'll use the old ROM and stick to messaging.
Thanks for your help!

I think it is safe to eliminate hardware issue as you can record without a glitch, no?
I would suggest trying an "old" rom, say Reaper?
And if you're s-off you could try flashing a "newer" radio to see if it helps to eliminate the problem.
A few easy fix would be to try switching to either 2g only or 3g only, could be a weak signal.
Another way get a earphone with a mic.
Cheers

Slightly odd behavior since WM6 upgrade

Hi all
Upgraded to WM6 on my O2 XDA IQ. No problems with install all went great. SInce then though a few people have sent texts that I have not got. It seems to work some of the time. It isn't a particular network or person as I get some from one person then another day I don't get them.
Plus it keeps making the dinging noise (the one it makes on boot up) all by itself. It plays randomly at different intervals, 10 times in a minute some times and then it can go for hours without playing. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!!
It generates this sound at boot up proces when there is a connection problem of wi-fi module. I solved it by changing in the wlan-ip manager th device
Weird. I mean not getting messages shouldn't be a problem in the phone, right? If you get one, you should be getting them all...

That is what i thought, so I rang O2 and they said must be a phone problem which to be honest i thought that was total BS!
Got rid of the dinging noise thanks to makler1981. The wifi was turning itself on when the phone was switched on. Still not sure why it turns itself on but i now know how to stop the bloody noise!
Cheers!
You need to do this modifications in you system registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TIACXWLN1\Parms]
find there
"HTCDefaultOff"=dword:00000000
change it to
"HTCDefaultOff"=dword:00000001

It was already set to 1. Strange eh? Thanks for the suggestion.... got any more?
I had problems with delayed SMS after a WM6 upgrade as well. More so the ones I sent weren't arriving until hours later, or sometimes not at all.
I do wonder if this maybe was a radio problem, as there are different versions of the radio ROM. See if yours is the most recent (ending in .14 I think).

Sensor lag

Hey guys, I'm experiencing this strange issue. I'm not sure if it's hardware. When somebody's calling me and I answer the call and put my phone to my ear, there's about 3 sec lag until person on the other side can hear me. This used to work fine, it first occured when I started using Sense 3 ROM (not immediatelly), so I thought I should try Saga4D, but problem still persists. I haven't really tried any "nonsense" rom since I need Usb tethering. Is there any way to check or recalibrate this sensor?
Thanks for help!
Ok, it's most likely this issue: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=16230
I think it's time to switch to Windows Phone...
Good to know I am not alone...
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
I think this fixed it: https://market.android.com/details?id=cz.byteworks.cdp

Yep, common 2.3.3 problem.
What ROM are you on?
Did they fix this is 2.3.5?

Hey, thx for all answers. Fix I posted works only every few times. I use Saga4D, It's 2.3.5 Sense 3 ROM. Is there any Sense 3 ROM w/out this issue?

I don't really intend to bother anybody, but I had this problem with two Sense 3 ROMs. Is there any Sense 3 ROM you guys use without call answer delay? Besides official from HTC, I rather wouldn't S-ON my device just to check if I have update available. Thank you!

[Q] i5800 Heaphone Issue

Hi,
I have been having a problem lately with the headphone port on my phone.I don't use it at all for anything but for some reason, my phone randomly says that there are headphones plugged into my phone. This stops me from being able to hear sounds out of the speaker so i miss phone calls and texts. I also can't hear voices when I phone someone.
I am currently using the latest version of the "CyanogenMod (CM7)" port on my phone. Was wondering if anyone else was having this problem.
Sorry if it has already been posted, I have searched and couldn't find anything.

I have never seen anyone report this problem nor have i had it myself. I think it is a hardware problem so try sticking something in there if you want to experiment yourself or take it to a repair shop.
I have tried that before and it didn't help unfortunately. I did again just to check and it didn't help.
If I re-boot the phone it stops doing it but only for a short time.
I plugged some headphones in after the re-boot and they didn't show.
Maybe there has been something spilt on it and no one told me
Thank you for your help

Try flashing another ROM, preferably a Froyo ROM and see if it works then because it seems the problems stops for a while then appears. Hopefully that works.

Auto rotation problem in custom ics rom

Hi guys
Last night I installed the fallout rom on my desire s and it's all done.
I'm facing a problem, that is even when I disable auto-rotate from display settings, it still keeps rotating the phone. (In settings menu, and everywhere else unless I disable auto rotate in some app but most don't even have the auto rotate setting and follow the default settings, which is set to disable but is still on for some reason)
Basically I want to disable auto rotate permanently. I do not ever need it.
Any idea how to do this? There must be a way. This is really a deal breaker for me for this rom and it's the first custom rom i've installed on my phone.
This bug is known about Fallout. There is no fix.
You can try a newer Sense 4 ROM (like Nik Project X)

Not making a lot of sense there.
I understand ROM loyalty and am convinced that fallout is a great ROM and one which I want to stick with. However, your experience of never having had a certain problem does not mean that you can say it doesn't exist.

2 ppl are flashing the same rom, but only 1 is experiencing the problem, where do u think the problem lies.
Rom dev are not able to fix the problem if they are not experiencing it.

You may have a point but it isn't valid in this case as the problem started two months after the installation.
Actually I lean to the feeling that this is not a problem with the ROM but I'm finding it interesting that I have now found several people mentioning this problem associated with this ROM - so I'm now seeking clarification, which is not really helped by apparently automatic denial that a problem exists by people who have no knowledge of it.

My desire s with stock rom is experiencing some issue, i called htc up, tech told me to do a factory reset, hey that solve the problem, but wait, i dont think that should be the solution, ROLL OUT ANOTHER OTA!!!
Same case here, just do a fresh clean install, with backup apps and data. If after 2 months it happen again, then come back and report. Or you expecting fallout v6, which in my case i dont mind :victory: in xda new roms are always welcome.
The dev or someone with expertise needs to experience the issue for you to have clarification, if non are having u only get assumptions from people who are not knowledgeable enuf.

So following your advice I did a totally clean install and the problem was still with me - so I figured it was a problem with the phone. Just to be sure I installed a different ROM and the problem was gone. That suggests to me, regretably, that it is problem with this ROM. Why it should happen to some people and not others is a bit of a mystery.
I felt it was both arrogant and ignorant of me to give feedback with a diiferent Rom on my phone, so I decided to flash fallout before making a reply since I had the zip on my pc. Never like going back to older roms, always going for the newer ones.
And result is, rotation works. No issue here. On and it rotates, with the phone still tilted I off and it went back to vertical without me tilting it back.
Sad that this Rom is having issue with your phone.

It's running CM13 CAF, and yes the mic works fine ,I tried to record it worked fine without any issue ,only the speakerphone didn't work
Try to reproduce the issue using a stock ROM. If there are no problems, at least you know it is software-related.

Hmm, sounds like it could be a hardware issue since you have tried two different ROMs with the same result.
Was the phone ever dropped or bumped? Possible loose connection?
