[Q] Strange bluetooth problem - General Questions and Answers

HTC My touch 4g approx 3mos old
T mobile
Plantronics voyager pro hd
When I bought this phone, I had a plantronics pro earpiece and everything worked fine. One day it stopped working so I bought the voyager pro hd.
I linked it to the phone. I can hear the beep when the call button is pressed, but when the call hooks up l can't hear anything, and the person on the other end can't hear me. I linked it to two other phones, one a pantech crossover and the other a 4g slide. It worked fine on both phones. I tried several things before deciding to do a master reset. That didn't help. I should mention that I can hear slacker radio through the earpiece and I can hear ringtones while sampling them from the ringtone folder. It appears that it works for everything but the phone calls. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Interference with bluetooth voice calls

I always use my bluetooth headset when talking to family and friends(due to the length of time, hate holding phone). Since, I switched from my nexus one people have griped about the interference/noise they hear when I'm on my bluetooth headset. It is not my BT headset as I've tried a few(motorola S305, and two smaller bluetooth earpieces), all of which exhibit the noise. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem ?
Running the Galaxy S I9000 ROM rooted.
Everyone complains about hearing me whenever I try to use a headset. Seems like the stack sucks or the radio is terrible.
Got the same problem. My bluetooth calls are loud and clear on my side, but everyone on the other side complains about static noice and I sound very distant.
I tried the original ATT rom (stock unrooted) and the most current 2.1 that is available for download. No difference.
Any ideas what to try to remedy this?
I haven't noticed anything like this on my Motorola S9-HD headset.
I have noticed sometimes it will cut the music every once in a while, whereas my iPhone never did.

This is a known issue with the I9000 ROM... Bluetooth doesn't work well for some...
I'm running the stock rom... is that the I9000 rom?
None of my friends have mentioned such a problem when i've called them, although I've only made bluetooth calls a couple of times (including on the bus and at home).
Using after-market Nokia BH-503s.
I'm definately seeing the same problem on the stock rom. Not as bad as athe I9000 ROM but still bad enough for them to complain. Seems like it's made worse by the different roms/kernels we've been flashing but there's definately a problem.

I'm seeing similar symptoms, except my music cuts out every 30 seconds or so. My setup is a Kensington iPhone adapter connected through aux input in my car with an Anycom FIPO on the iPhone adapter (it converts the iPhone/iPod adapter into a bluetooth receiver). I then stream from my Captivate to the adapter and it works fine except that it cuts out every 30 seconds. Did you ever figure out how to fix it?
UPDATE: Just wanted to add that I figured out what was causing my problem: having Wifi turned on. Once I turned it off, my bluetooth streaming worked beautifully, with no hiccups.
Still have a problem with this. Stopped using my BT headset completely... sucks having this thing stuck to my head for calls.
I have encountered several problems:
Party can not hear me at all; though I can hear fine.
Party hears tinny sound to my voice.
Headset disconnects while playing music.
Using a Motorokr S9-HD. Works fine with Samsung A-737.
I too have the static problem. This phone sounds wonderful on my end, but everyone complains that that can't hear me! This is so far the only complaint I have.... I hope someone will have a fix, or come up with something.
I have this problem too !

I only tried my Apple inear buds for music/podcast and unlike with the Samsung SGS, it worked just fine. Mind you, didn't try for actual calls tho. What doesn't work with it?

Darn. I found out that the sony MDR-EX38iP are only partially compatible. Not sure about it's mic, but the volume controls don't seem to do anything.
I'll be testing Wal-Mart's no hassle return policy in the morning.
I'm having some trouble finding a hands free solution that's got music, and volume controls, a mic and stereo in earbuds. Anybody know of such an animal?
There's two other's that I've yet to try: the Skullcandy Titan headset, and the one's from JVC with the marshmallow earbuds.
The headset earphones that came with my DZ are better than the ones that came with my Dream, at least they stay in my ears, but I sure miss having volume controls as part of the remote.
walmart took them back, plus i tried and returned the scosche tapline headset because it didn't work either. well, at least the volume controls didn't work.
Has anyone got the SonyEricsson MH-810 Stereo Headset for Xperia? these might work since they're made for the android platform, not iOS.
Might be an app
I had trouble getting a headset with a mic to work at first. I thought the jack might be defective, but regular earbuds worked. I also noticed that it detected if I had a headset with or without a microphone. (the icon on top would change)
Then my husband told me he saw on some forum, that there's a known problem with headphones with a mics, if you have another music app installed other then the native one.
I had previously installed Winamp, so I uninstalled it and now both the HTC & the Apple headset with mic work fine.
Might be worth it to give it a try, if you have a another music player installed.

so @Milady_Odessa, with your apple headset, you can:
*answer & initiate calls
*change volume up and down
can you be more specific regarding which apple headset you are using, or possibly a picture?
Sorry I should have specified, it's the regular earbud/mic combo that came with the iPhone. It essentially does the same thing as the headset that came with my Z phone.
It can answer & adjust volume, turn on your media player. It can't initiate calls, but it can dial/call back the last number that called you by double-clicking on the middle button.

Thanks for elaborating, and the picture! hmmm, still not idea.
I would like to have the same functionality I have with the headset that I got for my Dream.
I thinking of getting a set of sony ericsson mh810 off ebay for about thirty dollars, but I would like to confirm that that the voice dialer / search feature works first.

What about the volume control at the point where the cord splits?
John
I bought the HTC HS U350. This allows you to plug in your own earphones in to the mic piece. So far it works great but i do miss having controls for skipping music and also volume. I guess it will do until i find something better
I have the G2 with the Desire Z ROM and the iPhone headset that came with my 2G iPhone and the replacement one I bought about a year after are both working. After plugging them in I see a headset icon, and I tested using the Voice Recorder app and on a phone call, mic was working fine. As far as I know nothing was touched on the ROM from the shipped other than pre-rooted things like busybox, superuser, etc.
I've just tested Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket headset which is designed to work specially with iPhone - music sounds good, stop-play button works (with 1 second lag though), calls are good as well - mic works fine, you can answer and stop the call by pressing the button on the remote.
I tested with Desire Z and Desire.
I was hoping to get Klipsch S4i to use as headset, hopefully they will work with Desire Z

Anyone tried Griffin Smarttalk mic adaptor?
Hi,
Has anyone tried the Griffin Smarttalk adapter?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-Sma...LBEG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1291378019&sr=8-2
I'm particularly interested to see if the skip functionality works with HTC's music player?
Thanks,
Ash
Hi all
Anyone thought of using Sony mw600?
I only had this little marvel for 3 days (fone only 10 days) and I dare say it works beautiful.
It takes/makes calls without a glitch. It even displays the callers number ( didn't manage to make it display contact name yet, though)
Also it controls nicely my poweramp app, does prev/next, play/pause, and volume. It's got in ear detachable headphones, and it uses same microusb interface for charging as our lovely phones
All of this for around £30 of eBay!
It's not bad, is it?

[Q] Bluetooth with Car Stereo, no Audio

Hey guys I have a problem with my HTC one X. I have e-mailed HTC and they are asking a million and one questions about my car. Thought I would pop a message here to see if anyone can help. If it helps im uk based with stock software locked to orange but tried with my gf who has unbranded hox. works with an htc desire. HTC said could be a compatibility issue which is a load of poo.
My HTC ONE X pairs with my vauxhall corsa 61 plate standard bluetooth car stero and I can scroll through the phone book and answer/make a call but cannot get any audio through the speakers. it pairs under the name UHP. I can select that on the phone for the audio output but still it plays though the phone speaker.
I have heard alot around issues playing songs through bluetooth but this isnt a function of my standard bluetooth stereo.
anyone have any ideas or experiancing similar?
try turning Media volume up? eveyrtime i disconnect my BT or take out headphones, my ATT one x automatically drops the media volume all the way down. then i have to turn it up again.
My BT has been working (almost) flawlessly with my 2012 Honda Civic. Occasionally it will disconnect for about a second, then reconnect. Otherwise, calls and BT audio work fine.
Sounds to me like you have the international one x. Not the lte variant this forum is for. Your question might be better suited for the right forum for your device.

This forum is for the US and Canada version of the One X, which has a different SoC (chipset) from the UK version. Not sure if the issue would be duplicated on our version. You might get better response on the proper forum:

Bluetooth problem with the Nexus 5

Every time I connect my Plantronics Voyager Pro HD and I'm in a conversation over the phone I hear this cracklin sound from my Bluetooth! Is anyone else having this issue? I've swithched out for a new Voyager and the problem still resides!
I think it's an android problem and not the phone ive been having Bluetooth problems since JB

I'm having the same problems with my Plantronics M100. The signal has more static than usual. Put it back on my Nexus 4, works fine. Maybe someone tested with a low-grade Bluetooth piece, since it's less evident on my crappy old Motorola H620 (though it always sounded crappy anyway).
Might be a Bluetooth stack problem. Might be a hardware thing. Hard to say at this point.
bump
Do you have other active Bluetooth devices? I see this when I have multiple connected devices and when I disable all but one at a time it works.

Works fine for my "old" Jabra 135 or Moto H350, rooted stock 4.4.2 rom & kernel.

The same problem here. I have brand new Voyager Pro HD. With Nexus 5 I hear crackling & static however my caller hears me very well without crackling & static. I keep phone on my desk or in my packet same think.
I paired this headset with Nexus 4 and it works perfect, it seems like only Nexus 5 has some issue with this headset.
I noticed issue with Nexus 5 stock MusicFX, whether bluetooth to device or general usage. It seems to have come from that I believe. I am on Cataclysm and run Viper FX audio files, no crackling at all any more (using high or super audio drivers). I think the issue resides in the default android sound production and that is being sent via the bluetooth. Running 4.4.2.
Cant say ive had any issues, but there do seem to be reoccuring ones for many
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
same issue here with my Stock Nexus 5 4.4.2 and Plantronics Voyager UC2 latest firmware.
Definitely looks like an issue on the phone side as it worked no problem with the Old Desire X and my PC.
Would rooting / replacing the Kernel affect the bluetooth?
I did want to keep this phone as stock as possible this time.. (famous last words)

HTC A9 Low in call volume with Bluetooth earphones?

I have had my HTC A9 for nearly 2 years now. I have been very happy with the phone. I have had it rooted and using the stock ROM, but rooted so I can use the Native Hotspot. The unit works well, other than a diminishing battery life.
I recently bought a new pair of Jaybird headphones. I had the BlueBuds, and now switched to the Jaybird Freedom. I really like this pair of headphones, however I seem to have a new issue with it. It appears that the in call volume maxes out much quieter than my old set. The ending "beep" when a call is ended is perfectly loud as is all music playback. Just the call volume itself. I have tried the headphones on other phones and it works fine with them. This issue seems to only be with my A9, and only when in a call. as I said it works fine for music. ANyone have any suggestions on how I might resolve this?
