[Q] Periodic system maintenance - Asus Transformer TF700

I was just wondering what regular maintenance can be done to keep that newly flashed ROM feeling. It seems like everyone thinks their tab is so fast after a new ROM install and I wonder how much of this is really due to wiping everything clean and then flashing. If that is the case is there a way to bring it back to this without losing any programs or data?
I am very happy with my setup and I don't want to move forward to the latest ROM just for the sake of it (although CROMI 5.0 is beckoning me pretty hard). If I can keep this one running as good as it did when I first installed that will be perfect for me.
My setup BTW:
CROMI-X 4.6.9
Max V4 RC1
Quadrants ranges between 6200 and 6600 (sometimes I get a low run as well ~5800 but I am not sure why)
Thanks
Jeff

A clean install (factory reset in TWRP) will do that. I do it every 3rd or 4th flash.
If that doesn't do it, a format data will, but that's more restore intensive.
Develop a backup strategy and follow it at all times. Also good if something goes wrong...
Mine is:
backup user apps and data in TiBu
backup custom launcher settings
always have a current nandroid
choose you microSD as backup directory for all of the above
Only have data on the internal SD backed up in Dropbox or on your PC
That allows me to wipe/format data at any point without loosing anything

Thanks for the answer but what I really meant was clean up without re-flashing. I do nandroids regularly (about weekly or so) but I don't use TiBu much. I am looking for something to keep the same ROM I have running as smoothly and fast as possible over time. I understand that your method would get me there as well but I don't want to re-flash if I don't have to.
Thanks again

IMO you are asking how you can run your car without ever changing the oil and never have repairs
There's only one answer: Don't drive it...
Sent from my DROID4 using Tapatalk 2

I don't understand this answer at all. I am asking how to change the oil without having to change the entire engine every time. Periodic maintenance is exactly what I am asking about.
I must not be asking the question correctly. What I am asking is can I do something liken to defrag used to be for windows, or cleaning up temp files, or the registry, or anything else that is done to keep android running smoothly short of re-flashing the entire ROM just to tune it up.
If it still doesn't make sense I will try to ask elsewhere, but I think it is a pretty straight forward question.
Thanks again and sorry for the frustration if I am creating any.

You can try lagfix..

I've never wiped data on my tablet since I first got it (with 9.4.5.22) - everything is running fine. I've run Lagfix once, just to see what it does, and I am using Greenify to keep some apps I don't need from starting on system events.
The Play store app doesn't run particularly well, but everything else is smooth and mostly lag free.

Better yet, schedule LagFix for 30 minutes before Titanium Backup runs and schedule TB to restart afterwards. This will help give that nice crisp feeling you desire.
Before I started doing that, I would just restart every once in a while to get it unlagged

Presumably by the lack of response he is formatting and wiping now to prove me wrong

Sorry Jeff, I didn't mean to frustrate you!
My experience with Windows or Android is, that the longer you run it, the more things gum up. You install, uninstall stuff -and something's always left behind - you have apps installed you completely forgot about even though you never use them (and they keep calling home to update or whatnot...) - the longer you run a system, the slower it gets.
I wish it was as easy to clean the slate in Windows as it is in Android! I don't find re-flashing a rom (and it may well be the same one if you like to) much of a trouble at all!
I'm just now contemplating to go back to my (ancient) Win XP desktop because my Win7 laptop starts behaving like it's on Vista!
On any computing device, IMHO, erasing everything and starting fresh is a necessity dictated by time of use.
Unless you're _that of course. But who knows - maybe he's still on .30 firmware???

"Most unscientific"? I know someone who included placebo build.prop tweaks in his ROM and a Bravia engine that had no effect at all. Let's just say I'm lazy and I try to avoid unneeded work wherever possible.

Right. I am running Linux on my desktop PC. I never had to erase everything. My current OS installation is from 2009, and I only had to reinstall (the first time since 2003) because I switched from 32 to 64 bit.

10.6.1.14.4, I think. Stock ASUS, deodexed, with *very* few tweaks. (one of the tweaks is a that4-oc kernel where the CPU overclocking doesn't work )

Will Asus fix the lag and crashes on TF700T

Im now on 5th day with my TF700T.
So far it have been mixed feelings about it.
I love the keyboard, dont think i can have a tab without a keyboard in the future.
There is also no other tablet out there that have what I want.
The thing that worries me a bit is the lag on the device. Sometimes I must wait several seconds before it responds. And this is not the touch screen, becouse when I just wait, it will do what i wanted. This is not fun when you are sufring a simple webpage.
Will Asus fix this lag in the Jelly Bean 4.1 update?
How about people that have rooted (custom rom) their devices, do they have the same issues?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using XDA Premium HD app
ummm, i dont think anyone on here can answer that question. JB is a google OS update.
Try resetting
Then check the firmware version.
The only delays I see after tapping are when web browsing.
Everything else is snappy as far as snappy can be under Android.
Are you running in the balanced mode?
First thing I did was root mine and freeze all of the useless crap they preinstall. Havent ever had any lag issues.
I'm in the same boat as the OP. Have had the tablet just less then a week. I very surprised at just how poor the performance is on this. Here are some of the issues I'm having:
-If I leave the web browser app for other apps and then come back to it, my web pages reload. It's like the multitasking fail that is present on the HTC EVO 4G LTE or HTC One series only not as pronounced.
-Some Flash heavy websites are so choppy and laggy. Scrolling is very choppy.
-The Netflix app is almost unusable. Scrolling through my queue seems like it's getting about 5 frames per second. Oddly enough, actually watching movies plays perfectly if I can manage to scroll to select the right movie
-Some games, even ones that are promoted through the Tegra Zone are very laggy.
I really want to love this tab. It's so great for me in so many other ways but I can't live with it if this is what I can expect
I'm rooted, not unlocked, stock ROM. I've been running in performance mode. I've tried with and without Nova Launcer. I've removed or frozen everything I dare to using TB. I've looked through this and other forums for tips on improving performance but so far nothing has helped. Do I have a lemon? Are these problems common? Is this what this tab is? Please help, really want to get this thing running like I'm pretty sure it can.
im going to go ahead and assume that asus had a bad batch of tf700t's go out. i had one with the same problem and i returned it, got a new and havent experienced the same problem again. so fast and snappy that jellybean will just make this tablet crazy.
Because of some problems i have with my pad i have decided to factory reset it a week ago.
Since than the experience is sooo much better. Didn't solve my problem though

Not sure what to tell you...
I don't have any really bad slowness.
Kind of sounds like a bad processor or gpu core or other hardware bug like maybe ram errors.
IMO wouldn't say these are common problems.
*Just curious does your serial# on the bottom of the tablet start with a C6 or is it C7?
No problems here, either. I haven't rooted or done anything to mine except install updates and some apps I like - nothing that alters it really. Super happy with mine. Sorry you're having problems, but maybe you should exchange it, as previously suggested.

C6. From Amazon maybe 4 days ago. Is that older or more known to have issues. I'm still well within my return period from Amazon. If C7 is known to be better it would be worth it to me to return it and buy it from a store where I can look at the serial number on the box first. Thanks for the replies... Didn't mean to hijack the thread but it seems the op and I are having the same issue.

The tablet serial number can be found on the box the tablet came in and on the bottom of the tablet itself on a sticker (on the part of the tablet that would go into the dock if you use one).
The only difference between a C6 serial number and a C7 serial number is that one was manufactured in June and one in July (the number after the C is the month it was manufactured in)....

Maybe we should start a new thread and track the serial #s and their defects. Good way to compare range of serials with defects and spot unfixed junk that might be sold as refurbished later
For my limited use, the lag and freezing was driving me nuts. Of course, I've been down this road before with the Prime. Eventually the Prime community found the tweaks and mods to make it fly, and I admit it was part of the fun to experiment and find ways to squeeze more performance and stability from the tablet.
My problems with the Infinity seem to exacerbate when RAM goes below 200k. I can see this from the Cool Tool widget. When I get below this level, the browser is generally unusable. I use a tool called startup cleaner to minimize what launches and tried to keep widgets to a minimum but my RAM seemed to always run low. Based on this same experience with the Prime, I changed the setting in developer options to limit background processes to 2. This does a good job keeping RAM above 400K, and when I do this it runs very well. No lag or ANRs, and everything seems very fluid.
This was an early temp fix with the Prime until other mods caught up, so I don't expect this to be required long term. However, the results are really are dramatic so far and enough to keep me from going the Note 10.1 route.

That's a good tweak, and one I hadn't tried before, so thanks!
If you're unlocked, I would advise you to run...don't walk, and flash TWRP recovery and then the Zeus rom v 4.0. This is a totally different machine on that rom.
There is also the trick of turning off animations in Developer Options or set the scale to .5. That helps with smoothness, too.
My advice is not to exchange over simple lagginess if all other hardware issue are ok. There is so much more that can and will be done on the software side, but if you exchange, what if you get a tab with a major hw problem?

I'm waiting for JB. I typically do the custom ROM thing with my Android devices but on the TF, I don't like the fact that unlocking voids the warranty. Given ASUS recent history with Android tablets and the weak development scene, it strikes me as not worth the risk at this time. Root is sufficient for me right now.
I will probably unlock it next year after the warranty is up.
unlock when you have a need or desire, ie reason, to. Basically, have a reason to flash to something. Otherwise, root will be sufficient.
That's basically me right now.

The couple things I have done in the past with root.
1. Browser2Ram
Improves browser performance. This is as simple as installing the browser2ram.apk and reboot, then simply give superuser access. I use boat browser and to be honest, not sure if I gain much performance on it, but feels a bit faster.
Here is the thread: http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...5-fix-browser-not-responding-browser2ram.html
2. Build.prop editing
I have done this in the past with my old two units. I felt things got a bit faster. Though uncertain if related, but after the build.prop editing I had couple episodes of random reboot, which I had never experienced. So my current unit, I have not changed build.prop and have not had any random reboot.
But if you are interested, this is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1758160
3. Volume
If you feel the volume out put is weak even at max, you can download applications that allow to boost volume beyond the maximum. I personally haven't done this.

Further, using Titanium backup you can create and restore backups of all your apps and system data. Moving apps to be system apps so they work better. Ie maybe it was a bug but if you use the beautiful widgets weather (asus weather is waayy to big) and click one click clean it wont open on next click. pushing to system fixed it.
If you like gaming check out gameCIH the app. (Look for it in the browser, I don't wanna link and get in some sorta trouble) This app once you know how to use it allows you to cheat on games lol. Some games when they update are designed to trick the app so if you backup with Titanium use cheats then back up again go into the market and select update it usually pulls over. ie Heroes Call money for example

Why root? First Titanium Backup. Two, BusyBox.
These things or using ADB or Android's SKU, you can remove bloatware or other ware you don't want. Currently, i would suggest just freezing them unless you know how to pull or add with ADB incase you need to factor reset because it may case problem if you do a factory reset.
After that, it's more what you're into. I like Sixaxis Controller. It's a really good app to let you use a PS3 controller with some games. Great with emulators. It also lets you map out touch controls. On a side note, Wiimote works well too, but it's uses a Wiimote and doesn't requite root, but not touch control mapping for games not programmed for a controller.
If you like to get apps not available in the US such as BBC iPlayer or NFL Game Pass, MarketEnabler. You can also use to this to get apps that are specific to carriers
RootKeeper is another good one. This will let you play Google Play movies since they don't, usually, play on rooted devices.
Screencast is an excellent screen capture and screen recorder.
Rooting itself unlocks a lot. Just depends on how you like play. Unlocking, that's for the bootloader and recovery, which would be specific for nandroid backups and flashing. Thus, were talking custom firmware, kernals and some custom scripts (these is usually where unlocking features that are build in, but not turned on for some reason). As of yet, the TF700T is very limited in these things.
Unlock... THEN ask what it's good for... THAT's the noob way!
Dude, you are doing it bass akwards. You rooted, and now are looking to see what you can do, then you want to unlock, "just because" I had the Prime for 7 months before I unlocked it and only did it then because I was backed into a corner, with Asus refusing to provide fixes anyone (we went 3 months with no updates, and then they pushed out the worst update of any they had ever provided.) THAT was when I unlocked, and 3 weeks later I regretted it. there was only a couple of ROMS (the ONLY reason to unlock if for a custom rom install) and they were all, just okay, nothing spectacular. Biggest mistake I made on the Prime. Granted there are ALREADY more roms out for Infinity, but the grass AIN'T always greener. I suggest you read THE ENTIRE THREAD for EVERY custom ROM for this device (or at least the ones you think sound worthwhile) THEN, after seeing all the BS those folks are going through (or all the joy they are having... there are ALWAYS pluses and minuses) you can decide to unlock or not. remember YOU CAN unroot. Unlocking is a one way street, and if you go into a bad neighborhood, here is no return trip.
Why people are always in a rush to root and unlock, without even knowing why they are doing these things is always a mystery to me. You are exactly the type of user that ends up crying in these forums how you briked your device. SLOW THE HELL DOWN. There is no magic bullet to make your tablet perfect. Time, and reason and logic and LEARNING are what will make you tablet perfect.
EDIT... Oh yeah, do you realize that if you unlock you won't BE GETTING JELLY BEAN? No from Asus, and not OTA. You will have to wait for a developer to pull it and make it flash-able for your unlocked tablet. Unlocked means no OTA updates again. EVER. Not that the developers aren't awesome, they are, but you will have burned your Asus bridge once and for all. Still "on the verge" of unlocking? Listen, I am sorry to be harsh, but the way you want to unlock is just wrong on so manly levels, if I saved you from yourself, you may be glad later. Don't forget, sine you are rooted, if you want to KEEP root, get Voodoo OTA Root Keeper (on Play Store) - and you have to run it BEFORE applying an OTA - not after if you want to keep root through an OTA update.
I'm sorry, but I tend to disagree with the above poster in most respects. The difference between stock ICS on the TF700 and Zeus 4.0 ROM on the TF700 is reason enough to unlock your device. Regarding voiding the Asus warranty - so what - from what I've read about their warranty service, it's almost useless anyway! My recommendation to anyone who unlocks their device is to get a SqureTrade warranty instead of dealing with Asus' piss-poor warranty service. This way you are covered with warranty and get the advantages of being unlocked. For the $80 (with coupon) for a 2 year standard + accidental damage warranty, you simply can't go wrong - it gives you complete peace of mind.
That being said, I do agree that you need to be careful and make sure you understand what you are doing before you unlock. But, it's not hard or complicated to unlock or flash custom ROMs - just read up and ask questions first if you are not sure of something and you'll be fine.
Regarding not getting Jelly Bean via OTA - it's not a big deal at all - there will be flashable JB-based ROMs within a day or two of JB being released (if not sooner).

Just keep in mind that you can only get the SquareTrade warranty for up to 90 days after purchasing the tablet (30 days if purchased on Ebay).

With Best Buy (or any retail store) you have 90 days from the date of purchase - so you have *approximately* until October 21st....

I prefer to only root usually if I.can but Zeus is exponentially better than even a system-tuner-tweaked stock. I got constant crashes on stock and I/o problems were rampant. Voided my warranty but I can just flip it on eBay or send it in anyways if push comes to shove.

[Q] Should I buy an Infinity or should I wait?

Long term lurker here, first time posting.
I want a tablet for school but not necessarily to write notes on it and such. I want to read my textbooks on the tablet or do homework problems from the PDF textbooks. I also want a tablet that I can have fun with during my downtime.
I remember watching the Prime to see if it would ever get fixed. I know the GPS on that didn't work and the wifi would drop off. I don't really plan on using the GPS feature on the Infinity but I'll end up relying on the wifi a lot. Is the wifi feature fixed with one of the updates?
I know some about android since I rooted my old EVO and I flashed ROMs constantly. I wouldn't mind doing that with the Infinity since what I've read is the CleanROM+Data2SD+a kernel makes this tablet pretty snappy.
I've read that in order to flash a rom, one has to get the boot loader unlocked and that voids the warranty. How long should I wait for physical problems to arise from the tablet?
What kind of problems have you had with your tablet?
Got my tablet this summer ..only problem i have with it is the squeaky sound it makes when i squeeze it. Other than that the tablet is smooth ! I saved 100s of dollars on textbooks. I dowloaded pdf versions and put then on my tab. I love this thing wouldn't trade it for anything. Except maybe a surface pro

I would definitely get it if you are using it for school. I am currently a graduate student at umiami and use this everyday for class. Lol I'm actually in lecture right now responding to this post.

That said, I still recommend a laptop for you. I'm a technodude. I feel technology differently than most people. To me, the infinity serves its purpose well. But if you want to be absolutely safe, you should get a laptop. It's proven technology for most people.

As in flashing roms or is it stock? Do you have any physical problems (pixels are messed up, casing is falling apart, etc)?
I use mine for Uni. It doesn't fully cover everything I need it to do, but that's just because it can't run the adobe CS5/6 package. (PS touch is all fun and well, but highly under-qualified for a graphic designer.)
For documents, reading, internet and entertainment, it's excellent. The massive storage and keyboard are a definite plus. I have two 32gb MicroSD's, one in the tab and one in an adapter in the dock, so I can exchange them when I need something from the 2nd one without connecting the dock.
I'm one of the lucky ones in this board, as mine's flawless.

Why is chrome browser so slow on TF700?

Should my nexus 7 tablet be blowing it out of the water? Everything is much smoother om nexus 7 tablet then the infinity like butter compared to molasas? What's the deal
Because of poor i/o flash used in the tablet. Search this forum for the i/o thread(s) to get more of an idea.
A workaround is to use Browser2Ram, but the disadvantage is that you lose settings on a reboot. But it has been shown to be highly effective in speeding up browsing processes.

Wow really that's unbelievable I would have thought Asus would get the next tablet right after the borked the prime so hard. I guess it was a mistake giving them a second chance this is unacceptable.
For me, this is my first tablet period. I didn't have that experience to fall back on.
Still, though, overall, the tablet is nice. I just try to avoid browsing as much as possible. Not too had since I have a BIONIC on 4G lol

FYI - there is a newer version of Browser2RAM floating around that doesn't lose any settings on reboot... With Browser2RAM installed, the stock browser absolutely flies on the TF700. Also, make sure to go into the Debug settings in the stock browser and set the "Enable CPU upload path" - it also increases the speed of the stock browser.
I must say, after doing these 2 things, the stock browser is the fastest browser that I've ever experienced on any tablet - period.
Between the "CleanROM Inheritance" ROM and Browser2RAM, the TF700 is very fast - no complaints at all.

The latest update of browser2ram should addressed the "lose settings on a reboot" and it also suppose to work with Chrome also. Give it a try.

In a perfect world, you are correct. But, as we all know, it's not a perfect world!
The "whole point" is that there simply is not another device on the market that can do what the TF700 can do (combining an awesome tablet with an awesome keyboard dock). Rooting and installing a custom ROM on the device is not hard and results in the best damn device that money can buy right now... It all depends on what you want to do - personally, I (and most other XDA users) would root and unlock ANY device we buy anyway, so for most XDA users, it's a moot point. Obviously, you are not that type of user...
If you don't need a keyboard dock, there are other (possibly better) options out there for you. Although, I must ask - if you are not interested in rooting and unlocking your device, why are you even on XDA to begin with? After all, that's what the XDA community is all about...
Any device that you buy is going to have some shortcomings - it's up to you to decide which device fits your needs the best. But, like I said, you simply won't find another device that can do what the TF700 can.

I just wanted a bigger screen then the Nexus 7 to remote into my Desktop and be able to browse a pennyauction site Quibids. I am just saying its sad my Nexus 7 $249.99 does it better then a $699 Infinity I came here for answers and got it. Its sad that they would release a product with a I/O issue with junk flash that is all.
using a microSD
So I had picked up a few inexpensive sandisk microsd cards from amazon, 32GB and rated class 10. I did some quick symlinks of chrome's cache directory as well as flipboard's cache and databases directories to the microSD, and it's a world of difference. The apps are actually responsive and usable whereas before I wanted to throw my tablet through the wall. Once I'm back from my vacation I'll have to take a long look at moving more of the system to the external sdcard, and using a more native filesystem.

I have root, but is still locked.
Which programs did you use? What file system is the MicroSD formatted to? Which program did you format it with?

This is purely a proof of concept to see if it would work. I used terminal IDE, but you could use something like adb shell, dropbear sshd or android terminal emulator to get a shell prompt. I also did nothing special with the SDcard, using the regular FAT format for the purposes of this exercise to prove to myself that I should strongly consider the data2sd solution.
1. Make sure the processes aren't running. Usually after a fresh reboot and without starting any other processes so they don't get cached.
2. Identify which directories I wanted to shift over to the external SD card. I know the directories are in /data/data/<APPSTRING>, so just need to find them. Chrome is com.android.chrome, and I don't recall what flipboard is off the top of my head. Once inside those app directories, I figured that cache was likely culprit for Chrome from looking at the browser2ram code on github. When I checked flipboard I saw both a cache and databases directory which likely contained sqlite files.
3. Create the corresponding directories on the SDcard in the /Removable/MicroSD/data/<APPSTRING>/cache (or databases for flipboard).
4. Rename the original from /data/data/<APPSTRING>/cache to cache1, then created a symlink with 'ln -s' to the newly created external directory.
5. Copy via 'cp -r' (recursive) all the files from the original to the symlink. Start the apps and see if there's a noticable difference.
This isn't a permanent solution, but I just wanted to confirm for myself whether it would improve the application experience, and justify the time expense for making my external SD card permanently part of the OS via data2sd.
I could create a shell script that you could run as root if you're interested, but only have tablet access right now (on vacation).
Curious, I just bought the TF700 yesterday, it has 2 browsers on it, right? Does this effect both browsers?

If it's IO contention with cache write access to the internal memory, then yes it will affect both browsers since their cache is on the same data device. The browser2ram program will link the cache directory for both applications (native browser and chrome) to the tmpfs.

[Q] Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 - Very slow - Please help

Hey
I just won a Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 White 32gb last week, i've been playing around with it a bit and i've found that it is incredibly slow, slower than my ASUS Transformer TF300T. And i was expecting a monster of a machine with the specifications in the Note Pro.
There are delays in just navigating the menu, sliding down the menu thing from the top. Typing on the keyboard, i can write on word and keep writing and it freezes and then my last word pop up (sorry for bad explaining, hopefully you understand). Scrolling up and down on a website in Chrome, it can just freeze for a few secs. Opening some apps from me tapping the app to it opening can be delayed like 6-8 seconds or something. Also have slow problems when i'm using Perfect Viewer for reading comics, flipping a page can sometimes delay for seconds.
Never had any of these issues on my ASUS Transformers TF300T
Also have some issues with the pen when playing around in the Sketchbook Galaxy app, if i lift the pen away from the screen and then put it back, it doesnt identify the pen close to fast, it takes a long while.
I would be more pissed if i payed for it, still pretty bummed though even if i won it.
I will be super grateful for any help i can get
I made a video, but i cant link it here, maybe i can link it in a PM if somebody wants to help?
Hi, I have the same device and it screams, no delays at all...
What I have done from the start is install a new launcher, in my case Holo HD, to get rid of Touchwiz which supposedly consumes a lot of resources...
I suggest you give that a try...

No delays here either. All stock. Maybe something is downloading to cause that slowness. Look in upper left corner for moving arrows. If you see one moving then something is downloading and you can see what that is by swiping from the top of the screen.

Can't think of anything else, maybe you do have a hardware issue.
As a last resort you could perform a factory reset to see if that cures the responsiveness issues...

This guide should be all you need. http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...ide-samsung-how-flash-stock-rom-via-odin.html
You can download the firmware files at http://www.sammobile.com/firmware and enter SM-P900 in the search box. The file you want depends on your region. If from USA, then Cellular South is the one you want.
Please ask for assistance if you have more questions.

Should all the files be deleted after this re-flashing is done? If so, then i must have done it wrong, all my apps and everything is still there and it is still slow. I followed the guide and got the "PASS" in Odin.

Here's a video showing some of the slow issues i'm talking about
EDIT:
Has anyone heard of this problem with the Galaxy Note 12.2? Slow as f*** right out of the box? So infuriating
Seems like a collection of issues. First thing I'd do is get rid of the task killer application. IMO kit kat manages memory just fine. A better way to go is to use greenify to keep less frequently used applications hibernated so that frequently used ones will be cached. When I set up my devices after rooting I'll freeze things I'll never use and then I'll watch a system monitor application for things that load in the background. Anything that loads in the background that I don't want to use frequently (and don't need to keep alive for notifications) I'll consider for greenifying.
For the perfect viewer issue, where are the files? Is that memory latency? Kind of seems like it. Agree though, usually should run better than that.
I have to admit the first thing I thought was that perhaps you have a big SD card installed with a lot of media and the media server process is running and showing things down.
IMO in general out of the box these things are laggy but with some tweaks things improve a lot. The lag is subjective, some aren't bothered by it but for those of us who are it's a big nuisance.

The issues im having were present right out of the box, i installed the task killer to see if that would help, i dont have the task killer application anymore after i reset it again - still the same problems.
Is Android 4.4.2 the latest version available for Galaxy Note Pro 12.2?
Only other thing that could be the problem is hardware i suppose, but what kind of problem? that would make the device soooo slow.
You still need to do a factory reset after you reflash the stock rom with Odin.
