Hi, can anyone watch flash videos on either opera or internet explorer? My youtube app works fine but i can't seem to view youtube videos through the browser itself.
Thanks
I've installed flash player 7 for ppc and it works. But not everywhere and in IE only. Some videos don't support this version.
open your browser in your d2, go to : m.skyfire.com....download, install and enjoy
greetz, Werner
It can't create connection, when I'm on wifi. Do you know why ? Thanks

The newest version of flash lite for WM5/6 is Flash Lite 3.1 (same for Symbian). You can download it from: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/distributableplayer.html
Look for: "Download the Developer edition for Windows Mobile 6 Professional (ZIP, 928 KB)", on the bottom of page.
It working very well in Opera Mobile, even playing flash movie.
Flash video
Why don't you try to write: m.youtube.com instead then www.youtube.com you will see that the streaming media will open and play your video. Very simple. take care
Playing videos and browser
The best browser on the planet to play any video is SkyFire...I open even Rainews24...is better then Opera then you can try with Iris browser is very fast or Bolt or NetFront or Mach 5 accelerator is very fast too, they are all very good browsers....Unfortunately Microsoft cracked down on DeepFish that one was very good....But don't to worry soon or later Flash 10 will go out on the market the thing is The Market don't want stop the selling of IPhone....and Iphone is not ready yet for Flash 10...all Windows Mobile are ready
Can you image Flash 10 on Windows Mobile this month? Apple businessmen will kill them self...Iphone is simply not compatible.

Maby it is good browser but not for VGA and WVGA units. Until they not switch their servers for resolution different than QVGA it will not be the best browser.
this does not work on my diamond2
For Opera Mobile you simply need a DLL file and add an extra line into opera.ini/opera1.ini!
I've attached the DLL for you! Just remove the ".zip" after downloading the file for proper usage!
Copy the DLL file to \Windows\Opera9\plugins (if the folder doesn't exsist, create it) and add this into your opera.ini/opera1.ini in the "User Prefs" section:
Code:
NS Plugin Path=\Windows\Opera9\plugins\NPFL3ppc.dll

You mean we have to first install Flash Lite 3.1 and then go through this procedure? Or we do it directly, without installing Flash Lite at all?
Can anyone with Opera Mobile and flash installed visit www.letour.fr and tell me whether it works for him/her? My Opera always crashes.

I've installed flash player and flash lite and opera didn't crash on that site, however I can't see flash videos, yellow area is there only.
I tried all the solutions suggested in this forum, but no luck with my Flash in Opera... Too bad...

FlashLite 3.1 must be installed, I think! In most of my ROMs is Adobe Flash in the SYS part so I think yes, it must be installed!
I tried it with Opera installled... No luck!
IE mobile 5 + FlashLite3.1 Can play flashvideo, IE mobile 6 can't
Hi,
I am trying to get the ActiveX plugin for the Windows Media Player to work in PocketIE, or rather Internet Explorer Mobile on an O2 XDA Orbit 2 (Windows Mobile 6). The objective is to play a wma file from a URL, but using javascript to control the player, which will sit in a display:none; styled div.
I dont want to post walls of code, so I have setup this simple page to illustrate and test it:
http://lukas.xcomms.ie/cblproof/Default.aspx
I am able to display this fine in PocketIE, and I am able to play the audio file, just as in the desktop browser. However, with the new version of this plugin (i.e. using classid "clsid:6BF52A52-394A-11D3-B153-00C04F79FAA6" instead of the old "CLSID:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95"), I am no longer able to use the javascript calls for .Play() and .Stop() on the player object.
When I switch the code back to use the old plugin, I can successfully use javascript to control the player in the desktop version of IE, but since the plugin is not installed on the WinMo6 device, I cannot bring the page to load the player in PocketIE.
Has anyone come across this before, or is there any reference documentation for the new ActiveX plugin, similar to the old Windows Media Player for PocketPC SDK that Microsoft had for PocketPC 2002 way back when?
Any input here would be much appreciated, I have trawled this forum and the internet for two days now, but unfortunately information is very sparse. I am stuck with PocketIE because of other requirements for the project, so switching to Opera or SkiFire is not an option I am afraid.
Thank you very much in advance for any pointers!
Mike
Other options
Hi again,
since no-one seem to have an idea to circumvent this particular challenge, can anyone suggest an alternative? I would be willing to skin the plugin, or use any other means of controlling audio in a web page through JavaScript.
I hate the fact that we have to work with Pocket IE on this, but at least it means that whatever solution we go for will need to work only on this platform and not across a variety of handsets / browsers.
Very grateful for any thoughts, opinions, advice,
Thanks again!
Mike
The dvr we are using will download a java runtime plugin on firefox, IE, not chrome, and only from a PC. When I try it from a phone it does not attempt to load a plugin, nor prompt for it.
When trying it on the phone, it allows login, then shows the camera console, but no video.
Any ideas?
If it is Network Cam, u can go to market and download IPCAM free version to try it first.
It's work for me with Panasonic Net CAM.
Not sure if it is a netcam. On the download page there is a download app button, the app does not work on the phone, but it is named AV732E.exe
If the app you are speaking of will work I am on it.
Hi everyone,
I have a problem. I have a Palm Treo Pro 850w phone, which is quite old. It runs with Windows Mobile Professional 6.1.0. The problem that I have is that I can't find any web browser that can fully support adobe flash.
I have Opera Mobile 10 which has a flash plug-in called flash lite. It works partially and is only able to play Youtube videos. I have tried other programs such Skyfire 1.5, Bolt 1.5, Mach 5, but none of which work. I read online that Adobe has actually stopped producing adobe flash programs for smart phones.
I would like to know if there any ways that I can actually stream flash files online without using adobe flash. I also read that smartphones are now moving towards using HTML5. How does this work?
Please help.
Thanks.
I recently checked the adobe flash page and it now shows on the Linux section, the PPAPI version of flash player.
In this situation,I think it should be VERY possible to make PPAPI Flash Player available to Android since it can utilize the dual/quad cores to increase the performance and make the sandboxed environment run smoother, and thus achieve better performance than the extremely outdated Android flash player.
(Adobe AIR sucks because of no browser integration and no Actionscript 2 support)
This would also make flash player content accessible in Chrome for Android and other Chromium based browsers.
Otherwise, maybe someone can talk Chromium devs into getting PPAPI flash player working on Android in a custom build such as the CAF build designed to be optimized for Qualcomm Snapdragon devices.
They done it with Linux after all this time, why not release PPAPI flash player for Android as well?
Chromium can be built with plugin access on Android?
BUMP
Has anyone made a custom Chromium build apk with the plugins enabled flag?
Its been possible since 2013 apparently. :silly:
It would be the solution for ShieldTV being ruined yet again by trashing Flash Player access by causing apps to crash upon attempting to load any Flash/swf content.
Better, yet a stand-alone flash player that somehow uses the ppapi plugin to allow playing offline content with ease.
I was given a couple of links by someone form here before...
https://groups.google.com/a/chromium.org/forum/#!topic/chromium-dev/uQ3m8M-Yzvw
https://www.chromium.org/developers/gyp-environment-variables
Also some details were mentioned too.
I just learn that if you compile chromium yourself for android with enable_plugins=1
you will get PPAPI plugins enabled.

enable_plugins=1
I'm not tech savvy with building and compiling stuff so I hope someone can help by making a custom Chromium build available for easier Flash Player access with a safer touch via its sandboxing function.
