In the lower middle of my screen in a small area my screen is brighter than it usually is. It can only be seen on light backgrounds. Hardware issue?

I noticed when browsing the XDA forum via web browser, that when I tap the screen and hold, there is ever a slight shift in color tones. When I let go the color returns to normal. (I'm sure its on other sites as well that aren't on a white background). Has anyone else noticed this?
You can test by browsing XDA, going into a post, zooming in, and tap and hold around someone's avatar. Usually the icons around the avatar will become more pronounced when tapping, and look at the color of the background.
This might be a normal thing, but would love for someone else to test it and report back on it via their Sensation.
Last thing I want to do is bring this one back and swap.
I noticed it when I was choosing apps from my home screen.

Do you notice it browsing XDA? But not via the XDA app. Tapping and letting go?

i noticed it on the browser too on xda site, not tired any other site. but i think it could be software, maybe hardware but most likely software, anyone else got anything on this?
I just noticed also on the stock News app. White background, but when scrolling background turns just slightly pink. When done scrolling background goes back to white. Could be the app, but would appreciate if anyone could try that as well!
Yeah I noticed it on the xda app

I would upload a pic,but shootme won't work for obvious reasons. Is there any other app I could use that doesn't require root?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
Okay I just downloaded XDA premium and XDA free on both devices and checked many other apps and the browser on both mine and my wifes sensation and here is what I found,I was able to replicate the issue on both phones only in the XDA premium app
And I did NOT find this to be an issue and could NOT replicate it in any app nor the browser and also not in the XDA free app.Cheers

You could use the android sdk but I don't know how to use it.
This is meant for utorrent76

It's not really a sensor.. it's another secret camera so big brother can keep his eye on you

Red light? U mean the notification LED? The accelerometer sensor is deep inside the phone...
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA App
Lol, I really had no idea where the accelerometer is, but the red light im talking about is on the left of the sensation below the light sensor.

ive noticed this too. I bought the phone off a guy on craigslist and a day later its got dust in the glass and the red ir light and wont boot into bootloader without adb or a third party app... maybe the light indicates a refurbished device? or an improper shutdown?
That's the proximity sensor. It uses infrared just like the MT4G's trackpad.

I now know what its for and how it becomes visible
It only happens when you're on a call with the phone on speaker.

Any ideas on how to get the screen on animation from the Neo ? Here is a video of it in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kNd6gsAGIY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
There is always place for a change.

I thought the fading is default Android behaviour, but looks slightly more exaggerated on this due to the camera changing its exposure in response to the screen light.

Hi guys,
Am facing an issue while clicking pics at night. I have uploaded a sample pic and as u see all the lights create an issue. Could someone pls tell what the issue is and why it's caused and how to resolve it?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Wow thats bad.. I'd turn auto ISO off switch to the lower settings and take the photo while shooting video. That should fix it. Its as if the camera is adjusting between the lights and the night sky.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
You might try another phone too. Mine had that issue tpp
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
So is this a hardware issue?

Might sound silly but it really looks like your lens might be dirty. Might want to give that a check just in case.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I don't think so. Here is a pic during day time. Day pics are awesome. It's the night ones
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
It's nothing dude, just the visible souls of the objects that you are photographing.
Hey. Change replace your phone. Odds are there is a scratch on the optic causing the stars. I got that info talking to a buddy of mine who is a professional photographer.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
It may be a dirty or scratched glass. You won't notice it in the daylight as much. The actual lens inside focuses past the glass, but at night that will create a really soft image like yours.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Thnx guys. Going to atnt to have the device replaced. Hope they do it

I find it very annoying that backlight changes constantly, even in the same room, with the same lightning conditions. If I move my hand a bit it changes. I am using Viper and there are tweaks to change backlight, but there's no way to make it work better. I don't know if this is just the way this phone is made.
Also the position of the sensor is very stupid, you can cover it accidentally.
I am never able to notice backlight changes in my iPhone.
Is there any way to make it more gradual, like iPhone?
P.S.Pls don't tell me to set it to manual

May sound stupid but it may be a scratch over the sensor cover or some dust below the cover.

I have tried cleaning the sensor, but problem persists. It depends on the angle I'm holding the phone

If its the angle I think it may be a scratch.. or a dent which causes the cover to cast partial shadow.
Just to confirm, you can try it without the back cover. See if its still giving you trouble.

Well I removed the back cover, but it's the same. Maybe I'm asking too much from my phone. I compare it to my iPhone 4, I'm never able to spot the backlight change with it, don't know how they made it. I just wish it could be a little less noticeable that's all
