I've been trying to find a good fast ROM that is stable. I haven't been changing roms as much as i've with the Galaxy S2, mainly because these ones are a lot faster and stabler from stock.
I was wondering if you guys have a good recommendation for a Google Edition Rom as they have perfect stability and every app runs fine.
I've tried various 4.3 roms and 4.22 roms but they all use more battery than stock 4.2.2. Before that i flashed the stock 4.22 from google and it had perfect battery life but it lagged.
Any good recommendations that you guys use?

Hi all,
i'm new to this whole ROM and Flashing thing so sry for maybe stupid questions.
ATM my Sensation works with the stock ROM and no Mods but i sometimes got serious performance probs like laggs in closing or opening apps or go through the app list or mails.
I thought that probably a custom ROM could solve this problems cause most guys tell me they got a better performance with a custom ROM and a better battery life.
Most intersting ROM to me is Insert Coin atm but i read there could be issues with Exchange-Servers for Mail.
Maybe anyone could give me an advice if a custom ROM is a good idea or not.
Btw i am a noob in the ROM / Flash thing but im working in the IT business so i think i am not a noob in this at all and should learn fast! ;o)
i don't use exchange mail, but i recently rooted and installed insertcoin and it in indeed faster...i also used insertcoin on my desire and I've always enjoyed his roms
if you don't like it you can always go back to stock
On custom ROM you can do more than on stock. Generaly performance, battery life increase with custom.
There are more users of custom ROMS so support is better on this forum. Life is too short to use stock ROM
Hello, I'm new to kernels and know not much about them except you can flash them like roms but, exactly where can I find a place with the most reliable kernels and if so, which one would be the best in terms of giving me the greatest/fastest performance? & also another different kernel that offers great performance as well as great battery life? (Running CM 10.1 stable on GS3, T-999)

Actually no one can give you an apt answer rather than yourself for which is the best. You may have to try yourself to know which is the best kernel, just like your try ROMs. Go to your device forum, pick up the most active kernel threads, read comments and feedbacks from members in the thread and you can try after getting an initial idea about the same.

I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules. I was just wondering what everyone else prefers on their Note 3... Stock ROM with Xposed, or a custom ROM?
I have been using Slimkat on my Note 3 since I bought it. This week I might try out the stock ROM with Xposed to compare.

I prefer Stock ROM with Xposed.
I understand why others love custom ROM but I don't need it

yes also
Same here, mostly running alexandr's ROM with lean kernel. Works wonders. But I can't understand why people buy this phone and flash aosp roms that turn the spen into a simple stick.
one of android best features to me ... is having a custom rom
but lately they all feel like stock with exposed enabled .... im still searching for a good rom to use everyday
rooted X-Note 3 knox 0X0
Stock rom with xpose especially Wanamp:good:
Tested lots of ROMs, if not all, that are available for the Nope 3. AOSP, TW based...
Best look, performance & speed - AOSP cannot be beaten here. And even if some FCs happened until I setup an AOSP, after that there's no hiccups, even on nightlies. Fire up ART runtime, and the speed gets to disgusting levels, but it's like a car, the faster you go, the more likely the crash.
Pure stock TW is ugly as hell, but coming from Samsung themselves, it's stable and everything works. And there ARE people who use the S-Pen every day. o.o
Also, it's probably the fact that I can't properly set up the kernel on AOSP, because the ugly slow TW gets me more battery life than AOSP. And I go tinkering with the kernel, and USB stops working, FCs, and other s**t. :/ I need to learn more on the topic, probably...
Currently, using Audax ROM with stock kernel.
make my own custom since i don't really use some of the function avail on other custom.
i vote for custom rom
when i am in stock note 3 the ported s5 apps doesnt work thats why i chose s5 ported roms as the note 3 dont get s5 apps or even the s5 uI samsung fault they dont care about there fans new phone produce throw your phone away cause you well get worse update - as i know 4.3 was better than 4.4.2 / 1-call record working without root - 2- camera performance better - 3- white keyboard - 4-not draining battery fast and ... a lot of things i may forget it dont forget the last update which introduce knox 2.0 which make towel-root useless - so tell me reasons not be in custom rom or you just stock with useless phone / i just losing faith with samsung update cause i know every update are getting even worse
I like using stock-based custom ROM with Xposed.

Thank you for the subject.
Personally, I prefer Stock because it's official and custom rom does not give you a big advantage over the original with Xposed, except with the custom I can not activate screen mirroring.

Me too!
Hi guys, I use Android 5.0.1 stock version on my phone, but it uses too much space.
I want to flash a new custom rom, which is lighter, and better than this. I used CyanogenMod but it only has nightly version, and it was not really stable(it still has camera, snapchat, on call problems).
So I am asking if you can suggest me a stable, lightweight and nicely designed(like touchwiz or cm) ROM.
thank you for your time.

You're not the first person to make this mistake, but this is the wrong forum. This forum is for the Galaxy S 4G, a first generation Galaxy S device that was released in 2010. The forum you're looking for is located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/.
There,, you'll find many, many different opinions on what ROM/kernel combination is best, search and read through the threads. Also, since its a Exynos-based device, Custom ROMs are very difficult to make and most will have at least some bugs.
Hi all,
I know this question was asked a lot of times but I was away from this community for a lot of time so I need some info.
I'm using Back-to-Note v13.1 and Arter kernel last version.
I'd like to update my device but I'm not sure what rom+kernel combo to flash.
I need stability and a really good battery life, extreme performance is not my main goal since normal one is enough.
Thanks a lot!
Stock ROM.... when do you people finally understand. If you need root, just change the kernel and stay on stock ROM. The stock ROM is the fastest and smoothest with highest battery life.
I can understand and accept your point of view but a well developed Custom ROM is way better than Stock ROM.
Right now, the only stock one I'm interested to is the official MM release!
