[Q] HELP - Asus Transformer TF700

I just tried to flash Cromi-x 5.0 beta 2. I'm coming from beta1. I did my normal wipe routine in TWRP and installed the rom. It said install was successful, but when I hit reboot, I got a msg saying that my device doesn't appear to be rooted and did I want to install SuperSu. Now all I get is a constant bootloop on the ASUS splash screen. I tried installing my nandroid but it fails. In TWRP I get an error opening ' /data/calibration' and error I/O error. PLEASE HELP. Any suggestions?

You can boot back to TWRP and select Mount. Under Mount, make sure you tick all the check boxes and reinstall cromi 5b2 again. Please report back..

After doing what you said, it got past the asus splash screen and cromix boot animation but the screen was just black. I then booted back into TWRP, and checked the mounts and system was unchecked again. I checked it and then tried to restore one of my nandroids. All is good. Thanks for the advice

I am glad that you got it going. I think it is a bug in the TWRP. One in a while, I have that problem. A way to get around it is to shut down your device completely and use the power button + volume down to boot back into your recovery..

Was this on TWRP 2.6? If yes, flash back to 2.5.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 4

I've seen this once, admittedly a while ago, it seems to be aroma finsihing before it has actually finished installing. Luckily TWRP does a root check and catches it. If you do get this always reinstall the ROM or as said restart then reinstall.

I've been running cromi-x since the beginning and have never had any problems. I finally got my 4.7 nandroid to boot after trying several times to install 5.0b2. Thinking I may have had a bad dl, I re-downloaded it and it installed without any problems. Thanks for all the work u haveput in to make this device fun to use. 5.0b2 is buttery smooth. Imho, this is the best release yet. Something coming your way Friday!!!!!

unroot my tf300

I brought a transformer tf300 a few days ago that was already rooted and unlocked. I can't get adobe flash to work. I tried side loading a few version of adobe but still no success. Google market says my device is not compatible with adobe. I don't think the rooted device really serves me any purpose so I would like to take it back to factory condition. I need some help doing it since I have never rooted a device before.
It is rooted with
aokp-tf300t-build-38.
Android ver 4.0.4.
Kernel 2.6.39.4 g2bf1397-dirty.
Build IMM761.
Thanks for all your help if you can. I will need step by step instructions, and thanks again for the help

Did you unzip the firmware and flash the zip named "US_epad-user-9.4.3.29"?

yes and CWM says install from sd card complete, no errors. I get the intial boot screen with the blue progress bar then I get stuck at the spash screen with the spinning wheel.
Luckily I had a nandroid of my AOKP setup and can go back to that. Ive tried a few times today to return to stock with the same results.

Remember to full wipe before installation including /system and after clear dalvik and cache then fix permissions.
By not wiping /system can cause some data to be left and corrupt stock installation had this happen on my g2x and have seen it on some other threads.

I wiped the cache before I started the install and now when I boot into the usb fastboot my comp flashed a bootloader notification but then nothing else happens. I tried it a second time and I dont even get the notification. Also if I let it boot regular the Asus screen shows when i first boot but then nothing ever comes up just black screen

Aroma semi-bricked my phone?!

I saw that the new CleanROM was using the Aroma installer for both versions of the ROM, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I don't have any experience with Aroma, but it all seemed to be working at first. However, I guess the file may have been corrupt because it just stuck at "Installing ROM" and never finished.. I hit the next button and it said it was finished even though I never got a status update. Stuck at HTC load screen, and will NOT boot into recovery even from the bootloader.
Since I can still load the bootloader, but not recovery, I still have some hope, right?
All I should have to do is run the AT&T RUU, right?

Or push twrp recovery and flash again.
Thanks for the responses -- was able to boot into recovery (CWM)... Not sure why it wouldn't work before.
Now it says it cannot mount the sdcard...
doesn't sound good.
Waiting on RUU to finish downloading, then I'll relock and try that.

You should not use cwm, use twrp, CleanROMs op stated that, try pushing twrp, and flashing before you ruu, it causes issues that hasn't been fixes yet.

This is a known issue with CWM, mount SD simply does not work. Use TWRP like everyone is saying.
Did you try wiping anything in Aroma? Because that is a known issue as well (results in soft bricks). Only wipe in recovery, and use Aroma only for picking the various ROM options (not for wiping anything).
Got it working -- used fastboot to flash TWRP and formatted SD card and now everything is lovely.
I've been flashing CleanROM since the beginning before there was TWRP and never bothered to switch recoveries. I guess I should have read the notes more closely.. oh well, no harm done

cannot use recovery after JB

I can get into recovery but after that then to android with red exclamation or usb fastboot screen or fdr screen cold boot. Once I get to red x andy I can go no further. Tried all combo of button pushes and will not go to blue menu for clear cache partition fdr or re start. I am trying to clean cache . It just sits at Andy then after about 5 Min's tab reboots by itself. Have tried about 6 times same thing happens each time, Any idea what is happening or what I am doing wrong or is recovery clean cache partition gone? Thanks
Other wise JB install went smooth no problems and tab is working well . seems smoother . Also kept root with voodoo.
Same here...
I had this same issuethis once, after update with the same intention, was considering either clear cache or to do a full wipe from that level as opposed to doing it through settings. Almost had a stroke u I saw the animated android with the famous (or rather infamous red triangle) Ended up using the one in Backup and Restore in system settings. Think I will try this again, since this concerns me. Anyone else seeing this? If recovery is broken in JB, we have another wait on out hands. Sigh
ditto, starting to see a trend...
Same here, I've had no luck getting past the initial stock recovery screen. Not good.
When you flash OTA update you lose custom recovery.
i have custom recovery installed on JB but it is useless. nothing wants to mount.

I kept root with OTA Root Keeper. So I was able to reflash TWRP from Goomanager. But anyway it cannot mount either the internal storage nor the microSD card. There seems to be no working recovery for JB, yet.

I like a few others was stuck at the infamous red triangle with no way to get into TWRP. Lost custom recovery. Did the above mentioned in fastboot and was able to flash CWM and then was able to flash Supersu via CWM. Got me out of a jam, unfortunately missed the opportunity to NVFLASH on .26, had already upgaded to .30

[Q] Newbee: CleanRom 3.4.7 does not boot

Hello,
yesterday i tried to flash a custom rom for the first time (the CleanRom 3.4.7. DEODEX) on my TF700.
I followed an instruction video that i found in the rom thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049274), using the adp tool and twrp 2.5 and everything seemed to work fine.
But although the Installation wizzard says that installation has been successful, the Pad hangs on the boot animation.
I tried to install the rom with different settings such as different boot animations or other kernel, but the problem persists.
Any idea what i am doing wrong?
Thank you very much!

I'd almost take you on for a dollar or two you haven't updated your bootloader. I'll split with Tylor. I'm a reasonable guy.
EDIT: first post from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049274
says: "...The latest JB Bootloader is necessary before flashing this and is available in Post 2."
which (obviously) is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2049274
Friendly advice, not a poke: do read up carefully BEFORE flashing anything. A few folks have run into severe bricking issues by not reading carefully enough. A few hundreds bucks to solve a few minutes of impatience (we all know the feeling) does hurt. Tremendously.
Thanks for your tips! I thought that the installation video shows all steps, but i assume i was wrong.
I found the 2nd post and downloaded the 10.4.4.25 WW (Germany) Jelly Bean Bootloader.
How can i now install that bootloader? I am afraid i brick my device if i use just a random instruction, because i already messed the sequence.
Can anybody help me?
Thank you very much!
Robout
through twrp just like the ROM, after doing the bootloader you will have to do the ROM again
wow! That was a fast reply. Unfortunately i still need to post a question (but i am pretty confident that this will be the last )
How can i get the bootloader file to the Transformer? When i conncect the pad to my laptop i can not see it. Even if i boot into the twrp it still does not show up. I also tried the "mount" button but there i can just check/uncheck the boxes for "system" "cache" and "data" and nothing happens when i do that...

I have seen that before. If you are on the JB 4.2 bootloader version 10.6.1.14.4, flash CROMi-X (latest version is 4.5), not CROMi 3.4.7. Look for the thread here on XDA.
I don't know why, but for people coming from stock, the 4.2 bootloader doesn't seem to play nice with CROMi.....

I tried that too. Again the same s***t happens again. The system is stuck in the boot animation.
I updated th bootloader to 10.6.1.14.4 WW, did a wipe and afterwards installed the CROMi-X 4.5 Version as it is described in the instruction and again did a wipe. But still it does not work. I also tried to boot without micro SD but that does not make a difference.
For some reasons it is also not possible to shut down the tablet. If i keep the power down button pressed down, the tablet shuts down, but immediately reboots (until the battery is empty or i enter the TWRP).
Any further ideas? i am really kind of desperate right now

Make sure you flash the boot loader file, reboot, wait for the blue bar to load all the way (takes about a minute) device will reboot itself, at this point if it sticks on the animation, force reboot to twrp, flash ROM and reboot.
What happens?

[Q] Can't Get Rom to Boot

I was able to get my wife's phone unlocked over the weekend. I threw twrp 2.5.0.0 on there and tried to flash cleanrom. The phone was on the newest bootloader, so I tried flashing the boot.img in fastboot. It just stays on the boot screen forever. I found that there may be issues with newer twrp versions so I tried installing 3 different older version of twrp and all were unresponsive to touch. I could press power once and the twrp lock screen would come up, but that was it. I put 2.5.0.0 back on and it became usable again. Unfortunately I'm not S-Off yet because it says you have to be rooted and my plan was to put CleanRom on and then S-Off. I've verified the MD5 of the ROM zip on the phone. When I am going through the rom install though, and I go through all the options and it starts to install, it literally takes a tenth of a second and says successful. Then when I go to reboot to bootloader, it asks me if i'm sure since i don't have an OS installed. I figured that's just because I haven't flashed the boot img yet, but I am used to rom installs taking a couple seconds on my One XL. I've tried installing the boot.img with Hasoon's all-in-one and it says successful. I've tried installing the bulletproof kernel both via zip format and the boot img and still nothing boots up. What else can I try guys? The wife goes out of town tomorrow morning and needs a working phone. Thanks for your help.
edit: i found the log of the cleanrom install which appears to show the install failing.

I've narrowed down the issue to the install of CleanROM failing. This may be to twrp 2.5.0.0 but as I've said, earlier versions such as 2.3.3.0 aren't responding to touch for some reason. I don't think 2.5.0.0 is my problem though. I can see it if it didn't wipe properly, but the install is failing due to I/O errors.
But yes, I have tried flashing boot.img. twrp tells me I don't have an os when I try to reboot though, so that's the issue.
Try going to the advanced tab and fix permissions.
Sorry for slow responses, I've got to wait 5 minutes in between posts.

Fix permissions won't work without a rom installed. It fails. And from what I understand anyways, fixing permissions is mostly for apps anyways.
Problem solved. Everyone make sure to use TWRP 2.3.3.1 and only that exact version. Older has touchscreen problems and newer has install issues. Man, this stuff can be frustrating at times.
That's not exactly true. Older versions work just fine, I'm using version 2.2 and it has never failed me.
Older versions aren't working for you because you have a newer touchscreen firmware, you would need to downgrade your touchscreen firmware in order to have touch response. For the same reason, you would not be able to run aosp roms until downgrading. Just thought I'd clear that up.
