we need insecure kernel ? any one know where get it ?

The first site you linked is crap. All they did is get articles of the S2 and change that term for R.
However, I am cooperating with another person to build an insecure kernel for this device (well, to be fair, he is doing all of the work. I am only providing the info that he needs of the phone and trying out his theories). The thing is that we hope that in a near future we will be able to root the Galaxy R with the file we are making and an app called S2 Root, which allready supports our phone.

Just found that Samfirmware made a firmware 4 the asian version of Samsung Galaxy Z/R....
The Z/R is called Samsung W GT-I9103 @samfirmware's site
But things r starting to happen with our beloved giz.....(mo)

I bought my R two days ago, and I started to worry that...there was practically no information about our device even on official samsung website. I even sent an email to them and asked how it was possible that they sold phones and there wasn't any single picture on their homepage.
I hope they'll root it fast, and we'll get some nice custom roms soon!

Yes.
Kies can not connect to the phone.
I expect that you need firmware with Odin.
But there is no firmware file and instructions.

I'm afraid that there are only asian roms on sammobile.com now.

I dont understand that why samsung is not updating our phone to ICS. Definitely our phone has sufficient ram (478 mb) than galaxy S (just 384 mb). Also samsung galaxy S is more than 18 months old. As compared to that our phone is new.
I think we will definitely get partly ICS update (not fully ICS update).

You forgot that our phone have official name Samsung Galaxy S scLCD. I mean that you don't know what phones from series Galaxy S will receive ICS. But I have very small hope that our phone will receive it. But remember: our phone received official 2.3.6 faster than i9000

i dont think so anything luck in this. We deserve 2.3.6 update & now also ICS. We are new in market & also hardware n ram is better as compared to too old galaxy S phone. If u look for 18 month update rule of google then therotically galaxy S should not recieve update now. But still its getting update. Then why not we...?

Samsung announced that there were several devices other than the S3 (their latest) that will get Jelly Bean update.

It was announced by Samsung that these devices will also get official jelly bean. As for if our devices will officially get it we don't know. Our phone is considered Galaxy S II LTE but we dont know yet as our phone is also labeled Skyrocket and there is also an international version labeled Galaxy S II LTE. But if the original Galaxy S II will get it there is a good chance we will also get it but that all depends on Samsung -> ATT.
On the better side we are on the list on CM10 M2 that were released yesterday and so far 4.1.2 has been really good, may have minor kinks here and there but so far its good for a daily driver. So if you want to test drive Jelly Bean you can try out the various builds in the developmental forums. There is the CM10 and AOKP then theres various customized ROMs by other users where they tweak it even more for a better jelly bean experience. :good:

I have heard sometime in Q4, which means any time before the end of the year. That said, CM10 has official nightlies for our phone and AOKP has what should be considered an official build as well. Both work well, as do any of the many builds out there based on those.

The i9210 is the international version and labelled officially as Galaxy S2 LTE the specs are really similar to the skyrocket but not exactly the same for example CPU is the same maker and speed but slight different model. The size of the phone is slightly different and they have the international design for button placement (2 touch buttons one home button in the center which they made standard with the S3 rather than having different designs) so we may or may not get it officially but I wouldn't fret too much about it as we already have a working build.

Were you looking for JellyBean or were you looking for TouchWiz? As many have mentioned, the SkyRocket already has an official CM10 ( JellyBean).
I think you might be asking for an official TouchWiz JellyBean ROM. I would hope to see Samsung leaks for a TWJB ROM soon.
No official word for our device yet.

I think he meant official Samsung ROM, not CM10. I'm to looking forward to get JB official ROM if it's ever coming out.
I love NFC so having a custom ROM wont do it for me, if NFC is available on one of the custom JB ROM ill give it a try.

NFC is a hardware function. Every ROM I've tried has it built in, as long as the hardware supports it.
I can confirm that it works on SlimBean. I transferred several pictures to my mom's S3 via NFC.

My guess would be never since it's a low end device which was announced in July 2012 (at least according to GSMarena). Try finding a JB ROM for your phone if you're desperate for an update (which shouldn't be too hard at all, seeing as you're on XDA).

Doesn't matter chances are you won't get it. Unless you've read a previous announcement about it your device will most likely not live to see the day it gets JB

Pff, their main Tablet hasn't even gotten JB yet outside of a select few. Let alone a low end phone. Samsung is notorious for terrible support to devices older than half a year.

The price of S Duos has been going down steadily. Currently, it costs Rs. 9699 on flipkart. Samsung probably wont spent anymore on upgrading a low end device.

emm im noob on xda but i know how to flash a rom and many other stuff..i was just wondering if theres anyway galaxy s2 get 4.2.2 jelly bean of galaxy s4..anyone can port it..ive seen snapdragon s2 but i didnt like it...thx

One day it might get a rim which looks like the S4 rom but most of the functionality will be missing.
