If your SEC_RO is checked skip the following text and go directly to 6.
Now you will see most of the entries are checked. Maybe SEC_RO is not checked and now we fix this, because it is very important.
View attachment 2288761
Iin your MTK Droid Boot & Tools backup folder is a file "nodl_secro.bin". This is the same file like secro.img. it has another name because it comes from ext4 filesystem.
5. Tick the SEC_RO entry and use the nodl_secro.bin from your MTK Droid Boot & Tools backup folder.

i got sukarang9s recovery file (it is for MTK 6589M) and combined it with my boot.img
there are no differences between 6589 and 5689M in hardware. every difference is kernel related.
actually the kernel is not disassembled and there are no errors to expect due big differences.
thanks for your touch implementation.
can you add native support for HD phones? (1280x720 etc.)
would be fine to work without glasses.

Can this be used on Tronsmart TS7 and KVD K7 coz it looks like these are the same phones
just with other logo on it and these two have also 4GB versions?

even if they look like same, i can´t say if they are same.
if your phone has another internal layout or some other parts on motherboard it can brick your device.
do it on your own risk.

md5 mismatch on miui rom :/

sorry guys, there was a little problem on my side with the backup.
i will upload it agian.

yup, it works. pretty much everything works fine, seems smoother, and prettier
as far as problems go, for now, the only thing that bug me is the sound. even after modifying build.prop, it wont apply the sound. also, antutu says 0 on 3D graphics

if you have ca. 12500 - 13000 antutu marks your GPU should have ca 3000 -3100 marks.
we all can not expect huge differences until someone got complete kernel sources and got OC working.

yup, I agree. that part isnt a prob tho, it's just the sound ^^

i´ve found a workaround for ringtones.
install the attached apk. it´s the miui thememanager and home replacement.
after installing run this app.
maybe you will be needed to make an account at xiaomi.
load and set themes icons etc.dirct inside of this app.
tab on mix and you will see different theming options
tick one and you will see local and online
tick local and if the theme manager finds an content yusttick one and it will be set

generally speaking, rom works fine. it boots, and does what it's supposed to. it's charming (that's MIUI ), however that cool style comes at a price. performance-wise, it's a bit slower, due to heavy themeing, animations and other fancy MIUI options. also, battery seems to drain quicker?some options in settings tend to fc. that happens randomly with other apps as well, but not that often. major issues I have encountered are:
can't change sound (that can be fixed by installing MiHome mentioned earlier, however, in my case at least, I can't get notifications on lockscreen after that. another option is simply to rename your desired ringtone to the one miui uses - think thats backroad.ogg. that workaround imo is the best one for now)
data toggle is unable to turn off data. it turns data on, but to turn it off you have to manualy do it in settings
data monitoring app is annoying as hell, does some weird stuff and imo should be removed
micloud account is kinda annoying
what should be added
theming ability (not to theme the launcher, but to theme the entire ui) & xiaomi store
those are some issues which should be adressed, apart from that, rom performs well. however, for now, I think stock + gravitybox is the way to go

This is my port based on the latest MIUI update for Lenovo S820.
It should be fully functional. If you encoutner any bugs, check first if it's MIUI related.
I'll try to fix what and if I can. Keep in mind I'm not a real/pro dev, and I do have limited time at my hands.
ROM is based of the latest 3.10.11 update.
I haven't done any customizing, so it should be as close to the real thing as you can get.
You can try and do some customizing by yourself, or ask for it, I'll see what I can do.
Always do a nandroid backup first! I'm not responsible if you brick your device!
Flash via cwm:
1. Wipe System, Cache, Data, Dalvik
2. Flash Zip & reboot
Gapps aren't included, so you'll have to flash them aswell.

haven't tried it yet but it looks really impressive. Still some thinks I would change and will put back into this rom, because I think it is a little bit TOO slim, but this is everybody's own decision.
looks really nice and will be tested on the weekend.
looks promising.
a couple of questions; you've removed conversations.apk and messaging.apk. what sms app does your rom use?
i can see that you have removed talk.apk. isn't it needed to be on the phone to access the market?
Good job. Thanks for that tutorial on knocking off some cmg. Can you by any chance tell us how to make those boot only files that other mods put up. It really helps to downgrade that way. I will try this once I am back home from work.
cheers
Very clean Rom, at the moment all work for me, market work perfectly, i will test sms and this evening...

Maybe if you dont do a factory reset before installing the rom (rom does a reset before anyways). So if Talk is setup in the first place its required (I'm guessing), but so far without it works fine. Added screenshot above of market with paypal on screen.
Also tiggggr is right, the messaging apps where replaced with a stock MMS app.

If your talking about things like the Android 2.2.1 - 3.4.2-107 TMobile US modified bootloader. No idea, this flashing method I dicuss does not use/make a modified bootloader. Its just removing the Froyo bootloader and system partitions from the sbf.

Ya I have a notion that Stagefright being enabled for player streaming might be the cause. I'm looking into it.
No problem
Ok no problem, only modify the media.stagefright.enable-player=true to false or use this buil.prop
One thanks for me plz

Was uploading the new version already but thanks.
Yup Stagefright being enabled for the youtube player was causing the issue. Flash the new version and should be all set.
coming from pays 3.3
I found pays 3.3 to be laggy when trying to close apps and the network connection quite slow and jumping between 3G and H a lot. I think the network issue is causing the lag.
coming from pays 3.3 on 3.4.2_145-003. I thought I'd wipe and factory reset before installing Lawnchair.zip
This left me with a clean ROM but with no home app and having wiped in clockwork recovery meant no debug for an ADB push. I didn't check for ADB connection but I found that voice commands would run and that allowed the selection of clockwork, so no need to reflash sbf.
Just a note if anyone sees this.
ROM has booted now and looks good, people shouldn't complain about what's missing, nothing's missing if you have ever used Titanium or Appmonster.

Ya the reason for re-flashing the sbf is because other rom's (and mine) do remove apps from the system folder. Something which a factory reset wont fix.
However, because my rom does include all stock system apps; yes this should work but like you said if your missing a Launcher in your system folder it will make it complicated.
Otherwise, glad to here its up and running.
thank you very much for the work. the downgrade method you just included are new to me. As long as i´m working on DefyFroyoSense Beta01 and cant fix the camera flash problem, i think your way to flash Froyo and keep downgradability will fix this issue. BTW you optimized rom is great for those who wanna have a personalized system running. Thanks again and keep it coming.

Ugh had it turned off, go for it now heh.
I really liked the rom, although what i did experience was a some random lagging occurring.. after switching on the screen the device seemed to hang completely then just as i was about to pull the battery it began working again. i hadnt installed any apps and i had followed all steps exactly.
I had to reflash an alternative rom in the end because of the freezing...
I am looking forward to trying new builds - cant think of any features needed really, it would just be nice to know if others had similar issue to me and if there was a fix for it.

CLOCKWORK MOD RECOVERY
THANKS TO RUSSIAN developer - Mr.Arsenev.
I have attached the link to clockworkmod recovery. But, the file is complete Rom. So, you have to download complete Rom files.
Flash through Smartphone flash tool and Good guide is here - http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.in/2012/05/mt6575-flashing-tutorial.html
Remove the recovery file from the downloaded Rom files and replace the attached recovery file. I dont know to separetly to flash the recovery. If anybody know, Please help. So, while flashing only select 'Recovery' and follow the 'bm-smartphone' guide. Your downloaded Rom is not waste, because that is 23.07.2012 build. so you can use also that Rom. But anyway stock rom is best.

1. Ok.. ICS 4.0.6 (modified as 4.0.6) ,custom ROMs are here
http://forum.china-iphone.ru/viewtopic.php?p=659135#p659135
Use google translate in browser. Because page is in Russian.
It is made by Mr.Alexey arsenev, russian developer for Star N8000. He told that it will match exactly to Dapeng A9230+. So I tried, and it exactly matched.. All tweaks are good. Rom is Very fast. "Awesome Beats" in this Rom is Excellent.. No need to buy Beats headphones.. Medium quality earphones are enough.. So, if you want , try.
2. Mr. black_cappucino' s CUSTOM ICS ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36899596&postcount=18
3. GIONEE GN868 ROM (Micromax A90) - Stock ROM works well. has little problems. but we can solve that.
Little problems - we can solve that.
a. no signal - copy 'modem.img' from your stock rom (\system\etc\firmware) into GN868's Rom - same folder and change permissions (rw-r--r--)
b. bluetooth, wifi crashing - copy 'mtk_stp_wmt.ko' from your stock rom (\system\lib\modules) into GN868's Rom - same folder and change permissions (rw-r--r--)
Use your's stock ICS boot.img in the downloaded ROM .
Flash through Recovery.
Done .. Rom will be perfect.
Specialities in this ROM - 1. ICS Onscreen keys. 2. stock launcher with themes..
Link - http://www.romzj.com/index.php?option=com_mobile&task=download&id=4144&from=rom

Use your stock ics 'boot.img' in the downloaded Rom and flash through recovery.

Dear friends,
I solved my problem myself. I got firmware from Russian friends and flashed successfully before 2 days. My only little issue is back camera gives inverted shots. I am searching for rear camera driver. Other than everything is well.
After sending mail to NXG , they sent firmware after 4 days. But that firmware gives error (flash scatter file is invalid) and I cant flash the NXG firmware.

wow, great rom dude,i want to try it..but can you tell me how to back up imei?just in case if i get imei invalid, and what is the lewa twrp??
sorry for my noob,i'm new on this thing..
@Galon123
dude, to back up your imei, your phone must be r00ted. open your root explorer or similiar, go to " /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/ ". You will find a file named "MP0B_001", copy it to your sdcard or maybe pc/laptop for future use. So you can paste it into the same folder, and you get your imei back if in case you traped inside "Invalid Imei" problem.

First of all tkank you for the development of this awsome rom. I don´t know if what I´m asking is possible, but why don´t you contact JDStar, who has developed another multilanguage lewa rom and ask him for permissions to add the tranaslations to your rom? This is the link to his rom:

CMW recovery flashed but no go
Hi there,
I tried to get into the newly flashed CWMR but somehow I've failed. What I've done is use mobileuncle tools to get into CWM 5 and from there flash the zipfile I've downloaded from the sources. Now the CWM app does boot into recovery but I get this little android figure with a ! from it's belly. Not good I suppose.
I'd realy like to try out this rom but without working recovery I'm a bit scared I'm going to brick the thing....
Could you please advise??
Greetings,
Andreas
i use gthrill for a couple of days and the only problem i have is that when i open the wifi after some time the signal in one of my two sim drop....
i have it in all roms i try...
Installed last night.
Looks nice, work fine, stable. Well done
I have only one issue.
USB won't work.
When Jiayu is connected to PC, USB storage is not recognised. Any solution for this?

Drivers are ok. Tried every single port. Worked fine 2 days ago - Jiayu was with ICS 4.0.4.
Not recognised as a mass storage.

Didn't work. Got it working using the dd method (way easier if you ask me ).
Now, I've installed CWM 5.5.0.4 in /dev/recovery but when trying to flash the zip file for the LewaOS rom it gives me 'cannot open file'. Is that because I need the newer version of CWM mentioned in the opening post? Or just something else? Perhaps because there's 'spaces' in the filename? I'll let you know if I find something out there !
** Update **
I downloaded the correct rom but still no go It just doesn't want to install the rom...

Hi
Reflashed again.
Everything is fine.
I think is slower than original ICS 4.0.4 ROM, but stable and good.
Keep up good work!
***Update:***
Battery life much improved, at least 15-20%
I found this ROM very good so far.
There's only small issue with some mobile web sites. Some of the links cannot be open.
I've installed Opera browser in addition but is exactly the same so
I'm not sure: maybe there is a problem in ROM or badly written mobile web sites.
Thanks a lot

Tanks man, Nice to see at least 1 ROM for this phone on xda.
I already have the 0520 official ROM, but I'm going to try yours
Sent from my iOCEAN X7 using xda app-developers app
EDIT:
I'm back to the official 0520 ROM. Your ROM made my phone stuck at random times for about 20 seconds.
When I receive this phone somewhere next month I think I will flash your ROM very soon. That Chinese crap doesn't need to be on my phone
Thx dude finally a rom for our iocean
...Really thanks mate...iOCEAN X7 owners need developers for setting up this promising phone!....
Any possibility to solve this in some way? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2298000

That's strange:/ my camera is working well... What version of my rom did You install? And what original FW version was initially installed on Your cell?
Wysyłane z mojego iOCEAN X7 za pomocą Tapatalk 2
First thing after I flash your rom was test GPS, but unfortunately still not working..
Don't know how were You testing GPS, but everythings working on my phone :/
First of all - Stop GPS in Settngs and edit gps.conf file and replace NTP servers to ones matching Your country - http://www.pool.ntp.org
Next, download GPS Test app from Market and clear current A-GPS configuration. Reboot Your phone, start GPS andf go to its configuration in Settings.
Enable EPO and download lates data, enable A-GPS and use 'Nokia' servers instead of 'Google'.
Now start GPS Test app and go outside for a few minutes - satellites should appear in a while

MaximumROM for providing the ported Custom ROMs.
@AndroidXDA for the latest SP Flash Tool.
Getting Started
USE AT OWN RISK! I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR BRICKS THAT MIGHT OCCUR UPON FLASHING. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!!.
Before doing any flashing with your Acer Liquid Z500 you'll need to Root your device and flash a custom recovery. This is mandatory for flashing Custom Roms and making Backups.
Rooting may void your warranty, though this is localized and may not apply for your area/country. Here, in The Netherlands, rooting your android phone has been approved legal by the government, thus keeping your warranty if you need to return your device to the manufacturer.
This does NOT apply for flashing Custom Recovery's, therefore you need to flash back to the stock recovery.
Rooting:
First we want to Root our phone. We need KingoRoot for that. You can find it in my attachment in the post above. I haven't used the Android version, so i´ll only guide you through the windows version of KingoRoot.
People without a PC can try the provided KingoRoot_Android.zip, but i cannot guarantee it will work as i haven't tested it myself.
01) Go to your device settings and select 'Device Info'. Scroll down and tap the 'Build Number' 5x until you've unlocked 'Developer Options' displayed in a toast.
02) Go to 'Settings/Developer Options' and check 'USB Debugging Enabled' you are now ready to receive additional usb drivers and adb has full access to change files.
03) Connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable and wait until it's finished installing drivers.
03) Download and install KingoRoot for windows .
04) Run KingoRoot, the program itself is pretty self explanatory. Just click 'ROOT' and wait until the program has finished flashing. It will reboot your device automaticly on success and superuser app called 'KingUser' will be installed with it. If you don't like it you can try SuperUser or SuperSU from the playstore. (Make sure you've granted them SU_Access with KingUser before you remove KingUser)
05) You are now ready to flash a Custom Recovery.
Custom Recovery:
Now we need a Custom Recovery. We can use SP FlashTool to do that or we can use MobileUncle MTK Tools. I'm going with the latter because it's more user friendly instead of going through SPFT & Scatter Files. I haven't tried 'Flashify' or 'Rashr Flash Tool' for flashing Recovery's on MTK devices.
01) Download CTR or CWM Custom Recovery's from the above post. Make sure they are located at the root of your SDCard. Move/Paste them from /Download folder if necessary.
02) Download MobileUncle from my attachment or download it from the Google PlayStore.
03) Grand SU_Access to MobileUncle and select 'Flash Firmware'.
04) Your downloaded Custom Recovery's will be shown (if moved propertly to root of SD) select it and click 'Flash'.
05) Reboot into your new Custom Recovery automaticly --when prompted to do so--, or do it manually by turning phone off/on with 'Vol+ (Up) & Power' and select 'Recovery' in acer menu (apply/select with Vol- (Down))
06) Now make a nand/stock backup of your current (Stock) ROM.
07) When leaving Custom Recovery for the 1st time, it might ask you 'Rebooting device might change Recovery to Stock, want to fix it?' reply with Yes.
Flashing Custom ROMs:
Flashing a custom rom is easy. And if you perform everything right, you won't have to worry that you'll brick your device. I've tested most of the ROMs by myself, i can assure you that it's a save deal, just follow the instructions carefully.
01) Download a Custom ROM of your preference (See Post #3) Click the HIDE button to see additional Info and Instructions (which are taken directly from their FB page).
02) Reboot into Recovery and make a backup of your current rom.
03) Do a full cache/data/system wipe and wipe dalvik.
04) Select 'Install zip from sdcard' and select your downloaded rom.
05) Wait until it's finished flashing.
06) Reboot your device and enjoy!
Unbrick / Flashing Stock Firmware:
I haven't had the pleasure yet to unbrick any MTK device (a good thing, right!?), so i'm a little scarse to give any info onto how to perform such tasks with SPFT as someone who has experienced it by hand.
Neither have i re-flashed to Stock Firmware, because on all the MTK devices i've used, any Custom ROM for those devices worked flawlessly.
Check out the Acer thread by @Shreps for detailed instructions on how to restore and unbrick your acer phone. This method works for various Acer models.

Yeah it's too bad there are no dedicated forums for Acer specific models. Even less popular devices have their own section.
There is not much Info on the Liquid Z500 regarding Custom Roms so i added all the roms i could find (from one source only though ) since XDA, HTCMania, MoDaCo, NeedRom, or any other site, do not feature them (google searches lack information).
So i took what i could find and cramped them into one Thread
Hello mate, thank you for this thread it looks awesome! I wanted to ask you where did you get SDs_Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.003.00_EMEA_MTSs.zip firmware? My device came with it and when i was searching for it i couldn't find it! I was thinking maybe it's carrier branded firmware because MTS is the abbreviation of my carriers name... If i was mistaken do you by any chance know what does MTS part of it mean? Thanks in advance!

LOL... bug-less... Less bugs you mean? Bug-less in the world of automation and mobile devices does not exist...
You know what I meant. I'm not stupid and I understand that. I'm not asking for the perfect OS, I'm just asking if they are good for a daily use.

Have you followed my steps? because if you did you wouldn't need to mess with scatter files and the flashing is pretty easy compared to some other brands.
I have no discrete awnser, so if anybody else could shine some light on this issue, thanks!!

Dual or Single SIM device? What full SPFT roms did you try to install?
To recover a device you should follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56877584&postcount=2
And use these SPFT Firmwares (depending on single or dual SIM):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61359937&postcount=4
Z500 Firmware - Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1.zip (Dual SIM)
Z500 Firmware - Acer_AV0K0_Z500_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1s.7z (Single SIM)

Is there a Way to download the ROMs except MEGA? It always fails. Everything can be downloaded properly, just the ROM-Download interrupts always.
EDIT: And I will not buy anything there or pay for something...

Thank you very much, I think it'll be the Samsung-Thing and hopefully it works with the Z500 Plus too. Acer even won't provide a Lollipop-ROM...
Anyway, I'm not using the 2nd SIM.
EDIT:The VionicL-Link seems to be broken.

hi, I was wondering if Xposed Framework can be used in Acer Z500? I really want to modify the notification bar, but the Cutom Rom in the first page says that it's probably impossible for Dual SIM version, so I want to modify it with Xposed.
