So I'm able to connect to Shield to Frankenstein (PC) and the prompt to click "connect" is instantaneous but after I connect I can browse my games on the Shield but when I launch one, the Shield just tries to launch forever while the PC just doesn't do anything. Could this be a router issue if I just bought a Linksys N600 E2500 an hour ago? Both are connected to the Wifi/router so I'm a bit confused.

I figured this out before finishing posting. My phone an htc touch pro 2 unlocked to boost cdma unlimited with energy rom windows 6.6, I ran the wifi router app and it would say...connected, but, my pc would be able to get to the internet [it shows connected to...] Next, I tried to enabled the windows zero configuration by right clicking on the wireless strength bar and then I was able to click on the little pc screen that blinks when it is connecting to the network and it opened the screen with all of the wireless networks available, last I double clicked on the htcpro2 essid and it asked for the pass, but before it worked windows poped up with a window that said "your computer does not allow connection to ad-hoc networks...blah" and it explained how to do this [enable connecting to ad-hoc networks] after this was done, I connected to the network and it worked. If my instructions aren't clear then mess around with the settings until it worked. You can also ipconfig in Run>cmd>ipconfig to see if your pc acquired an ip.
htc pro Wifi router
Hmmm...sounds like an overprotective setting on the PC. I don't seem to remember the XDA Wifi version saying anything about being Ad-hoc. Could be wrong though...
Hey everyone. So, I've got a 10 mbps up connection, I've set up VPN on my home PC, I've forwarded the port in my router and I can connect to the VPN via my shield.
However, when I go to connect to my Steam on my shield, it acts like it's connecting, changes the screen as if it's going to show me video, but just displays black. I can even sometimes hear sounds, but no video. If I check my actual PC, it did launch the program, it just for some reason is not streaming/displaying the actual video. Any ideas? I have a Netgear WNDR3700 G/N dual band router.
I just bought a WNDR4500 router and I need some help,
Here is my setup
PC connected to router via ethernet cable.
Shield connected to router via wifi.
There is no active internet connection becuse I use 3g for that stuff
My problem is splashtop does not show my pc how do i make it show my on my shield?
well is the splashtop server running on the PC?

I pretty sure 300 is the Shield's max connection. Im not sure about the splashtop thing. y not just use THD if works?
THD works amazingly well when hooked up to my 560m nvidia gpu or HD 4000 gpu laptop, the problem is if you want to play something like Metro last light you dont have enough keys to map since the the d-pad is pre locked to WASD along with left stick. Im not sure if they will add support for shield.
My brother has a laptop. He uses a usb dongle to connect to internet. I use his laptop as a wifi router to use internet on my phone. Is it possible to connect my android phone to my pc to browse internet on it? I have tried connecting, it connects but is not able to browse any website on pc. I am able to browse on phone but not on pc.
I also want to know can i use my android phone as a wlan to play multiplayer games over wifi with my brother?
I've managed to side load ExpressVPN onto fire stick via Android 4&5 APK, however after I'm connected to the VPN and then try to watch Amazon Prime, the Stick loses the internet connection. Any way to work around this? WiFi connections indicate "connected with problems".
