Because they aren't gpl accompliant for their sources. That's why in xda there aren't forum sections for Xiaomi's devices

And this has changed now.
https://github.com/mitwo-dev/mi2_kernel/tree/android-4.3/Documentation
MI2 and MI2-A Kernel sources were released.
I think XDA should reconsider.

Yes, XDA should consider at-lease now... Peoples are now getting Xiaomi phones in outside China and it's on the best of android phone. I am from india and got my phone in my country.
So please create a sections for Xiaomi's devices... We are all waiting.

Well, it would be that "fast" to add a xda thread, I don't even think xda makes threads for phones that have already released any more, if you do get a section, it'll be in low and legacy.
how can create custom kernel?

nothing as of now, someone would have to port it over, being that the g2 is not running kit kat might also complicate matters further. it's a neat lockscreen though, i'll give you that.

I guess your referring to the double tap to wake feature? That's kernel based you can simply use touch control for the nexus 5 to achieve this

I've used it in the past and with the proper tweaks it isn't too bad. The nexus 5 can utilize a smart cover anyway. I find no need for any features with a smart cover anyway.

You'll need to flash a Kernel with tap2wake feature. The one I use is called ElementalX

Actually guys from Team Venom booted it once, but according to @ivicask it contained too many bugs to release it.
well actually booting it is easy but fixing bugs would take years so not going for this is a better option

Just thought this might be a good idea for those that frequently use the integrated Google now page in the Google experience launcher.
I think a transparent or blacked out Google now would be very neat.
I have no experience in theming beyond some icon images, so I figured a request was necessary. I have had this on my mind for awhile I figured I'd share.
Any one like to take on this idea and put it in motion? I am free to help to make this possible.
Any thoughts on this?¿?¿?¿........
