RE: Where's the 'search' option now in the new XDA premium app?
As the title says, do you know guys where i can find the search option? I can't seem to find it. IMO, the last version was better than this, faster navigation and easier to use. I regret that i didn't have a titanium backup of this app before i updated it.. :/

They recommended to clear cache and app data before updating. You had to re-subscribe threads but at least they didn't show up as blank...
For further stuff you should check out the last some pages of this thread:

Hope that helps...

Android Market 3.4.4 - Notice a speed boost

Just curious, does the new Market seem a lot faster for you guys too?
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/12/14/download-android-market-3-4-4/
Just download and install. No root needed either. Seems much better. Also looks better on my Tab than the older version.
Nice. Can't wait to check it out later.

How do I install this? Should I manually push the apk with root explorer for it to work? I tried regular install but it doesn't install.
Update: I manually pushed it with root explorer and it worked. Thx for the tip.

I would push/replace, clear dalvik and reboot.
I just installed like any other apk... No problem
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
I simply downloaded it... clicked on the completed download... then had the option to install... went straight to the market and checked the version, no issues at all.
Renamed and pushed no problem. Def faster.
I hope this fixes the "insufficient space" bug on our phones.
Noticeably faster for me.

How come it is available on the web, but market is not updating itself to this ?

Mine just did. And did it without any questions asked, stealthily... which shows that Google has total control over our smartphones and I don't like it.

when it comes to the market, it only updates when it's open. it's the only app that does it that way. all other apps will show in the notifications. if I'm wrong, please let me know, but I don't think that's the case.

How do you know that this is the ONLY app?
But anyway, my point is if Google can do it on Android platform it does not matter with one app or many.
PS: off-topic, Google Map subscribes to bunch of intents, so it would be launched when you turn-on screen, WiFi etc... I would like start application when I press app icon... There are no other way to opt-out other then disable Map in pm.
Google maps can be stopped by using the app autostarts. All those apps that start by themselves when you do something, ie reboot phone connect to wifi ect... no longer plague me. True, I just delete most of them, but there are some I actually use (like maps and Gmail).
Unfortunately I can no longer find the exact app I use in the market, though I'm sure there are others that do the same thing. If anyone would like the apk for the one I use just let me know and I can post it next time I'm on my laptop.

Autostarts is a paid app in the market.
If you found the developer posted it for free on XDA, please link to that... otherwise this breaks XDA rules.

My bad go back and see my previous posting, I didn't see it on the market when I looked last week. I just checked again and your right, it is still there. I'm not at my laptop now. Either need to have a mod delete my post or I'll do it tonight when I'm on the computer again.

Xda update

Did the update from the market and it erased my pm's and erased my favorites. Nope. Reverted back to old version

I like that the new update has the ability to hit the Thanks button at least. I always felt like a jerk thanking someone from the app but not having the ability to hit the Thanks button.
Don't use pm much so not an issue for me...

New version is a lot nicer... I had an issue with it duplicating My Favorites.... easy fix... just go to Manage Applications and for XDA app, clear cache clear data... then reopen XDA. Sign in, then set your preferences and favorites... all should be good.
Its strange when i apply dark theme ....always force close when i enter in posts.
Someone having the same issues?

YouTube and Play market link question?

Is there a way to make it that the HOX opens links to market apps or YouTube videos in those apps rather then the browser. Every time some sends me a YouTube video or link to an app it goes to the browser rather then the app.

Settings . Manage apps. Click on app that is default for handling YouTube links and click clear default.

That is HTCs way around the Apple patents. Flash a custom ROM and it will work the way it's supposed to.

Delete HTCLinkifyDispatcher with Titanium Backup. Then go into Manage Apps and clear the data on whatever browser you are using. Next time you click on a Play Store or YouTube link it will show the pop up asking how you want to open it.

That breaks other links, like text messaging and email.
Now that I think of it, there's actually a build.prop edit that solves this. I'll find it and post it when I get to my computer after work, unless someone else can dig it up before then.

Does anyone know if this is confirmed? I got the OTA update via clearing the Google framework trick. After upgrading to 4.1 I have found that I don't get expandable notifications with emails that I receive on Gmail.
Edit: Nevermind. I got the expanded preview to work by dragging 2 fingers over the email notification.
Tunein Radio has it.
