Where can I find the stock rom for the Pantech CrossOver (model P8000)?
I rooted my current Pantech CrossOver and removed all of the bloatware, which unfortunately makes my phone incompatible with certain apps.
And I need to use some of those apps.
Not all apps were made incompatible by removing the bloat, only certain ones.
I also know that the apps weren't made incompatible by the developer because they are still compatible with my old Pantech CrossOver that I gave to my mom.
Also, I am unable to use Pantech's update tool because it refuses to load.
It does not produces any error messages, crashes, or log files.
It just refuses to load anything past the taskbar item that does nothing.
By the way I have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Dunno where to find the stock for your phone, but you could try looking for the apps apks you uninstalled and install them again. Then convert them to system app via titanium backup pro.

i just integrated my updated system apps for my nexus s 2.3.4 root. it disabled market, music, and a few other apps. the only way i can think to reverse it would be to simply install a different rom.
But i am now unable to do so. Not thinking i ended up removing all apps from my phone in an attempt to completely reset it to stock, but it didnt change anything with the os system data. the files still dont work properly and keep force closing.
i can use my phone so its not a complete brick.
but how do i go about regaining access to market and other system apps?

If i was in your situation, I would try one of the official OTA updates that are a full rom. you will loose root and custom recovery, but those are easy to re-obtain. Since it's a full rom, it will rewrite all system apps and/or updated apps that are system integrated.
As always, since you are not coming from a full stock rom, A full wipe/reset should be done once flashing
i tried that actually. my issue was then error 7. it wouldnt verify the signature. all of the methods i have seen to make it verify the signature require me to have some apps on my phone and the ability to use market.
i also downloaded the sdk package and the adb software. i can link my phone up to it and lock/unlock the oem that way; but when i do a search for devices, it doesnt show my phone as a listed device. i tried to simply install titanium backup anyway to at least get my apps back and es file explorer, but it says device not found.
it really has become a puzzle for me.
and it is a stock rom. i just rooted it. unless that un-stocks it??
I've only ever seen the signature error on the incremental updates. Make sure you use the full ROM. Alternatively you could look for a CWM image of stock.
Root will not prevent an ota from being applied.

I've tried sideloading several apps to my stock Blaze. I install them by clicking on the app from the file browser. They appear to install correctly (no error message) but I keep getting the same error message when I try to run them :
Sorry! The application _____________ has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. (Force Close)

I then tried installing them with the Sideload Wonder Machine, but the phone has to be in debugging mode to use SWM. I put the phone in debugging mode, but when I attach it to my PC, it requires me to turn debugging off in order to connect to the PC. I get the following message:
Debugging turned on. Turn USB debugging off to set USB connection. Tap OK to continue.

The only options are to turn debugging off or hit "cancel".
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Maybe try Titanium?
I have had some limited success side loading apps using backups w/no compression via Titanium simply by copying and pasting to my KF. I didn't feel like having to buy apps again just after I got my Fire (but now that I'm running ICS it doesn't matter as much lol). I don't know if this will help you out any with what you are trying to do but it may be worth a shot. Make sure you change the preferences and backup location (to find those specific backups faster) in titanium.

Why should you have to buy apps again? Did you make a new google account and sign into that instead of your original one?
When I switched phones, all of the apps I paid for on my prior phone were available for download onto this phone as well.
There is an Amazon app store app. That should get you your kf apps I believe. You can download from the Amazon.com

It was the other way around... I was trying to not have to buy apps again from Amazon's app store for my KF. A stock KF runs a custom themed GB rom and will not let you run the play market on it (which is why it was no longer a concern when I loaded hashcode's ICS ROM on it)
So I was able to work around that by backing up the apps that I wanted on my phone and copying the backups to the KF and pushing what I needed to my KF so the paid apps that I wanted on the KF would validate from the market and run properly (mainly for fpse which won't run properly without validation).

I wasn't planning on rooting it - at least not until after the ICS update and there are some more custom ROMs fully working. I can't run Titanium without rooting it, right?
Anyone else have any ideas?

I don't think rooting alone will prevent you from getting the update. It will just likely break root, so if that is your concern I would go ahead and root it. Otherwise there's not a lot of options.
I rooted my galaxy note pro 12,2 and uninstalled a lot of original apps. The uninstaller was unable to restore them, therefor did a factoryreset in hopes it would be as new... It did not, now the files are lost forever and i did not take a backup before I started the rooting Is there a way to do a proper factory reset, where all the original apps, settings and files are restored?

Hi!
1: You don´t explicitly state this but it sounds to me like you still have your device up and running. At the very least to the level of being able to do a reboot.
If this is the case then do the following:
If you can then connect the tablet to a computer to wich you have Kies 3 installed in the latest flavour.
Access whatever you want to save and back up to PC.
If you cannot access the file system currently i see no way around ditching your user files.
2: Go to Sammobile.com and download a bog standard Rom from your area and possibly your provider
Follow instructions on the site for installation. See this example. (Note: You have to have Kies 3 installed for the drivers. Even if you can´t back up user files)
When you have reinstalled a std. rom you can reroot and try again.
Regards
Elo

I know you all are going to think I'm ridiculous, but I bought 2 shield tablets for my kids ages 3 and nearly 2 for educational purposes. After weighing the Nexus 9, shield tablet and Sony's Z2 tablet the shield seemed to be the best value. My kids have a restricted profile with only the educational/learning apps that I have selected available to them. My question is how do I disable or uninstall the preloaded NVIDIA apps such as SHIELD HUB, the controller one, Twitch sharing, etc.? My kids will never use them likely for the usable life of the tablets and I don't need them poking around with them so I'd like to have them removed or hidden at the least. I have the tablets stock rooted with TWRP recovery and I've used Titanium backup on previous devices to do something similar before but it doesn't seem be to able to located the APKs of these apps to uninstall them.
Thanks for the help!
Go into Settings and then Apps, you can select which you want to disable and uninstall (will not always uninstall as its part of the system i think) This is what I have done as i dont want junk running when I dont need/want it to

I tried that first before resorting to Titanium Backup. The Disable button is greyed out and not available to click for these apps. These are like some super system level apps that can't be disabled or uninstalled the normal way.

My suggestion would be to root the device. Many apps such as Titanium require root access for full functionality. Once rooted you'll be able to remove anything that you want. I personally just use Root Browser to navigate to System/App and delete what I don't want.
The drawback to rooting is that you won't have automatic OTA updates. (Not hard to get past that, download the OTA file and flash in Recovery.) But for your use you might not want to receive OTAs anyway.

My tablets are rooted, I mentioned that in the original post. However, Titanium Backup was unable to uninstall them (thus my question here) saying something about being unable to locate the APKs. I'll try Root Browser manually like you suggested when I get back home to them later.
I'm fully aware of all consequences of rooting, OTAs, etc. Every Android device I've owned since the original T-Mobile G1 has been rooted, but I do appreciate your willingness to help!

Got it, I misread the part about being rooted and your experience on previous devices.
I stopped using Titanium Backup a while ago. There are simpler means of restoring apps and restoring data is likely to cause headaches. That said, the problem seems odd. As far as I know, all apps install to either /system/app or /data/app, That being the case, can't imagine why TB wouldn't be able to find them.
Are you by any chance running Multirom?

Not running MultiROM, just stock with root. I thought it was odd that Titanium couldn't locate the APKs too, that's why I decided to ask here. I suspect if I go cruising around /system/app looking for these APKs to remove I won't find them there.

You would be correct about them not being in system. Look in /vendor/app. Should be what you want.
So I bought one of these babies from an online Chinese website, after using it for a while, I noticed a few random apps here and there would keep installing themselves (emoji flashlight being one in particular) . I decided to scan for viruses and wouldn't you know it, there were quite a few of the trojan variety. anyway, so i decided to do a factory reset and then I installed malwarebytes to do a scan and what do you know, theres a trojan attached to a couple of the built in system apps (contacts and file manager) which unfortunately I cannot delete, only disable.
So the next step I thought was to do a clean install but it seems to be the case the phone must be rooted before this can happen - and being an obscure brand (Protruly v10s) theres nothing in the way of a guide for rooting for this particular model, or indeed even manufacturer.
so i was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts how to best manage the situation going forward, is disabling the infected apps enough or is the case the apps need to be deleted, and if so, what steps can i take to get this to happen.
thanks
Anyone?

Apk apps on file manager
Have the same issue here. Even after deleting each apk in the file manager and reset the phone. The apps keeps coming back. You can also see the apps in the file manager by using esfile manager. Select phone memory and search apk. It will show all the apps that is automatically installing in the phone. Try to delete it but it is like an ai monster it keeps respawning. Hope there are experts that can help us in these issues.

The only options I can think of are:
1) find some way to root the device and remove the problem apps completely from system.
2) if the stock firmware is available for the device, you can try downloading the firmware then extracting the firmware to get access to its content, then remove the problem apps from the firmware then repackage the modified firmware and flash it, it should no longer have the problem apps after flashing.
3) if the original firmware isn't available, you can try finding a compatible firmware from a device with the exact same hardware and try that firmware, if that firmware also has apps that are virus/trojan, remove them before you flash the firmware.

Also, if you're uninstalling the apps but they keep coming back after you reset the device, that seems to suggest that there is a hidden partition on your device that contains a copy of the system apps and it keeps restoring them from that partition when you reset the device. I have a Azpen A 750 tablet that does the same thing, I can uninstall the apps and they stay gone until I factory reset the device, then those apps come back.
It's kinda the same as the process on a Windows laptop that has a recovery partition containing a copy of your Windows system then using the "restore to factory defaults" option to reset the PC.
