I installed a custom ROM on my phone 4 days ago and have noticed a strange problem recently. My screen is qHD and the Ported phone ROM screen is HD. The thing is at the bottom of my screen there sometimes appear a 1mm black bar(3 alternate lines sometime), then sometimes a mirror image of a part of status bar or something like that(corrupted screen) and sometimes it's absolutely normal!!
I installed HOLO launcher, re-installed xposed framework and gravity box. I had installed bravia engine 3 but removed it. Still sometimes the problem remains.
When I boot into TWRP sometimes there's a grey/black bar at the bottom.
Is this a hardware problem?
please suggest a solution.

Are you sure dude? Because if I send this phone to claim warranty it will take a lot of time for them to send me back.
Have you got this problem in full stock ? Before talking about hw, i'll test that.

I installed 3 ROMS yesterday of 4.2 and every ROM had the problem. Now I am gonna try 4.1 stock ROM and let you know...
Did it happen when u bought this phone i.e in stock rom? I believe u did not just start custom roms from 1st hr of purchase did u? If not, it "could be" due to some left overs of some rom which was not cleaned. Try to do a factory reset, dalvik cache clean etc & install Stock ROM for ur device first. If it still happens then it could be hardware fault.

I have a rooted Nexus S i9023 running CM9 RC1 with Air Kernel... I usually have auto rotate turned off because I don't like it! But then a few days back my device used to auto rotate automatically with the rotate being turned off.. It solved itself after a few days so I didn't bother. But it's just stuck in landscape mode and will not switch no matter what I do! It happened while I was using KangyU also and it happened with it also 3 times. Everytime I need to perform a factory reset and flash a new ROM and then it solves :/ I used androsensor and it does show a value for Accelerometer but my phone simply does not rotate! Is there a problem with my accelerometer? Do i need to give it to the service center or can I do something that will solve it? Any help appreciated
If doing a factory reset/ reflash fixes it. Then it is not a hardware issue.

This is probably a problem with your Kernel or ROM, please flash a stock ROM to ensure that the accelerometer is fine. If you are afraid you might lose anything make a backup or so.

I went stock.. But AndroSensor is still showing the same reading it was showing on CM9.. And the auto-rotation bug only comes after a few weeks into any ROM.. Also everytime that occurs I get a prompt saying
" Complete action using
Clock
Tune In Radio "
Everytime I get that pop-up I'm stuck on landscape for infinity. So can it be an app problem? It's happened so far on 3 ROM's I've used (KangyU, CM9, Paranoiandroid)
so I doubt whether it is a ROM issue. Maybe a Kernel issue because I've used AirKernel on all 3 of them

The sensor read out should be the same no matter what rom is on there. That is normal. The app itself tells you what the read outs from each sensor should be as well
My point. But what I mean is, If readings are the same then the behaviour should be same as well right? Where is the accelerometer exactly located?

If a new rom and kernel didn't fix it then it might be hardware.
Strangest thing happened. I uninstalled Tune In Radio and voila auto rotate back! So the app was the issue! But any idea what might have possessed that app to do so? :/

i dont know why but my cell frezze and restart frecuently, especially when using ics or jb (frecuently most in ANY JB to date) ...actually im using jb liquid smooth and is very nice but i touch a lot my phone and going to a app to another one and suddenly...the bootloader logo..or...the samsung logo what can i do, i know what im doing when it is about to flash a phone...but kernels or modem...not much, i aprecciate the help

Are you restoring app and data with titanium backup , the more details you can give the more help you will receive

yes and no, i try for a long time download all apps again one by one and i get the same results...so when i use TB is from jb to jb data, another detail is that my cell gets hotter when usin wifi i dont know it is normal...and the ram is always 100~200mb free space...and sometimes close apps like facebook or opera by itselfs

I'm also on liquid smooth and was experiencing the force closes ,come to find out I was using the wrong gapps , did you edit the build.prop tweaks at all I noticed when I changed the vnheapsize my phone would not sleep and when I hit the power button it would reboot , you may want to do a complete wipe and start over and then run unmodified for a while to see if the problem persists

i got yustun bean BTW...i got force closing in facebook and opera mobil and gmail sometimes...anyway...i didnt kno about edit build prop tweaks and i starting to using right now and se what happens...i found no much codes to paste in build prop, if you have some of them, you can paste here, so, when you say unmodified you mean like stock? ok there was a time that i use stock in girgenbread and works fine but is ginger, i really like ics and jb, in girgenbread often got black display and then lost my signal...but no restart no frezze...but ill give a try again to be unmodified but if u got some other tips i ill aprecciatee thanks

I believed that's your problem the Justin bean gapps try the link provided for gapps the dev provides specific instructions for a reason.hope that helps

Hey there, I have a similar issue, also running liquid smooth, where the infuse restarts and boot loops until I press the power button, then it starts up normally.
First I thought it was Pandora because it restarted when pressed on it but it also happens when I just text. It seems random. I have almost no apps installed and performed cache, davlik, data wipes before flashing the Rom.
I have around two reboots a day, and the battery drain it's pretty high, sometime when it restarts from the boot loop I have lost 3 or 4 percent of the battery just by rebooting... any ideas?!

yes...that is what it happen to my phone..but i edit build.crop tewaks and no restart from yesterdey.with liquid rom very nice rom...but a solution i dont have yet

Well the problem is not solved at all, but if has decreased markedly the reboots and the battery drainig problem, edit the file build.crop and place a few tweaks...check the super everything tread, in the mods part, you must search and find some mods tweaks and tutorials to work with
Hey man, I took a risk and sent my phone in to get the power button repaired and voila, after the repair I have not had a single reboot. My phone is around 15 months old and was rebooting more and more frequently. I hope this helps you as well!

What do I think is, Your phone got hung while doing this. Check out what application you have installed recently & remove that.
It happens while using simple apps like touchwiz launcher ( stock)
Is there any way of knowing that its not a hardware problm?? Should I switch to some other rom to check this?

Just clear the data of launcher, if problem persist do this->
1) Clear data of previous launcher.
2) Clear default from previous launcher.
3) wipe cache & dalvik cache.
3) Download any latest launcher, like apex or next launcher beta.
4) select the latest launcher by default launcher.
5) Restart.
Hope it will solve your problem.

This is bug of hongkong stock fw. I have also faced it. Device freezes sometimes and only notification drawer comes down for one time and when you send it up u will see small line of bottom of notification drawer at status bar. And phone will totally freeze. You will have to reboot.
Its not hw problem at all its just a fw bug. Just change to any other ROM of ur choice or if u want more fun change to CM10 or PAC ROM.

Maybe possible this bug is present in other fws also.
There is no CM9 available for our device. But there are many other ROMs available.
If you want ICS based ROMs u can go for MIUI, angeeks, mazel etc.
There are JB ROMs available also like CM10, PAC, AOKP but they have some minor bugs.

Hello guys. I am facing some terrible problem here. After I flashed the ROM I got some problems with the gamma maybe. In settings I see some color changes and etc. General in grey color. I see the problem looking at the screen even when I am in the closing process menu.. Cause it's still grey I think. I really hope it's from the ROM not from the tablet. Absolutely every other color don't make problems. Is it possible to have problem because of the gama and do you think it's because of the CyanogenMod 10.1 4.2.2 android. And if there is someone else with this problem please help. It's not so bad problem it's annoying and it makes me worry if it's possible to start getting bigger.

Best option is to go to stock Rom and check if problem exist!!!
And if you are getting that grey effect only in settings it might be software problem.

Okay. I will try then, but not now. Anyway I don't like CyanogenMod 10.1 .. For example there is allways after reboot system massage '' This system cannot be enhanced'' Don't even know what is that doing. And sometimes my Open Process bar don't work. I will try going to stock ROM then if there is no problem i will try some more ROMs but i am worrying the battery life will die flashing ROM after ROM.

I'm facing a weird issue with my Xperia L, whenever I keep my mobile idle in pocket(so tight packed)for a long time the lock screen gets freezes that I will be forced to pull of the battery to restart the device. Even the power off wont work out that the screen will go completely non responsive.This is creating a lotta problems as I will have to ignore important calls during lock screen freeze time.i had the same issue using Xperia L stock firmware and taoshan Cyanogenmode 11. please suggest a work around for this issue.

Probably yes.
Try a clean flash of the latest ftf. Wipe everything and flash your phone with the latest firmware available. Remember that wiping here is the most important part.
If you still face the problem then it's hardware.

I don't think it's touchpad issue.
It's something to do with the board perhaps.
Go to the service centre. They will tell you
