Hello
I recently bought a vivo tabe rt and I have installed x86 emulator. my question is when I tried and install software I need for work which is basically a program for parts identifying with pictures I load the program under the emulator and it started to run it then says acrobat reader 4 is needed and that it will start to install it extracts the acrobat software files and at end says c:\users\my name\appdata\local\temp\pftb261mtmp\setup.exe is a 16 bit application. you do not have permission to execute 16 bit applications. it then goes into main software install starts to extract and tells me the ole system files are in use and cannot be updated must restart. im wondering if this is do to the emulator not working with this software or if its something I can change.

From what I can see, the installer you are using is not supported by the emulator, or you are using the version of the emulator that does not support launching other applications

Hey guys, i just wanted to share these applications that i found awhile back. I have them posted in the old vogue forums but they still come in very handy to me.
I DID NOT DEVELOPE ANY OF THIS SOFTWARE. CREDIT GOES TO THE DEVELOPERS
Some of you may already have these.
If you have Android SDK, ADB and JAVA, all you need to do is download the attached files, extract, and run them.

Android Screen Monitor
This is a really nice and easy to use screen monitoring\screenshot program.
ASM is an Android Debug Bridge (adb) client, When it starts monitoring screen,
ASM connects to adb on port 5037 and receives frame buffer continuously on the device or emulator and transfer image to your desktop window.
You can rotate and scaling monitor window and export a image into PNG file as screen shot tool.
ADB Must be installed
If you have sdk installed skip step 1.
If you have Java JRE(JDK) installed skip step 2
Make sure you have your phone plugged in usb.
1. Make sure ADB is functional
2. Download Android SDK for Windows and place the android-sdk-windows folder on the root of your C:\ Drive.
3. Download and install Latest version of Java
4. Download the attached asm.zip and extract asm.jar out.
5. Place the asm.jar in \android-sdk-windows\tools folder.
6. Right click on asm.jar and place a shortcut on your desktop. Run the jar file or shortcut to bring up the monitor
right click on monitor screen to:
get screenshots
change to landscape\portrait
zoom in or out

Yes, I just tried out the Android Screencast. It seemed to work well. I am not sure what I would use it for, but it did work.
I didn't try ASM because I use DDMS for screenshots. DDMS is built into the Android SDK and works perfectly without needing anything extra.
Thanks for the contributions though.
greek keyboard
although it is rather slow, it works Ok.
I can use the english keyboard for composing messages, working with contacts, but when I turn the PC-keyboard to the greek language, I cannot use it with the phone.
Any suggestion pls?

Screencast is great for people like me who are physically disabled and can't use their hands. I used to use EveryWan Personal Edition by Sparus Software which only works with Windows mobile devices...hope screencast will become as good as (or better than) EveryWan!

is there a way to install the sdk phone tools on xp? I have the 6.1v and visual studios 2010. But when i try to install it says i have to have win7 or vista, and i cant put win7 on machine cause it only has 128m ram. I have a patch file that is suppose to let ya install but haven figured out how to yet.
There are ways to get it installed but the emulator requires Directx 10 so that's not going to work. Without the emulator all you can do is write and compile code but not test to see if it works or not. Not very useful.
XP barely runs on 128mb of RAM so I imagine Visual Studio would be absolutely miserable to use if usable at all.
If you wanna develop for WP7 I guess its safe to say it time for an upgrade.
i would say so as well. even a netbook has more capabilities than that
Im not much of a developer in some ways so as for now all im wanting to do is use the toms installer or the reg sdk deployment tool witch i have but when i try to launch program i get this error:
Could not load file 'Microsoft Smart Device.Connectivity,10.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its
dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Then when i try to install the Microsoft XNA Game Studio 4.0 windows phone from the WPDT_RTM_en_iso
i get this error: Microsoft xna game studio4.0 phone ex require visual 2010 or WPDT. install the required app and then relaunch setup. " witch i have the visual studio 2010 installed"
and i have a win7 netbook but have managed to have a kid that spilled tea on it so am trying to figure out the way to do this untill
i can afford to get another netbook.
Thanks for the help and replies guys, very appriciated!!
Ok so I got the xna game studio 4 to install but still getting the phone device connectivity error, is there something I can download to get by this and use the deployment
guess no solution huh
i don't believe so. the way i did it was to use a virtual machine so i could get the phone emulator working on an xp machine (virtual machine has windows 7 on it). but you don't have enough ram for that. you need at least 1.5gb dedicated to the virtual machine alone.
You can try this solution here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9618980&postcount=81. I just couldn't get it to install still as I kept getting an error saying could not install the following component .NET Framework 4 Multi-Targeting Pack.
i finally found a iso file and downloaded it then opened up the baseline.dat file and edited it according to the patch settings and everything works just like it does on win7 netbook, just wanted to see if it was possible and it is!
Thanks for the replies.
Could you share that info? Ive been dying to get SDK tools on my XP... Thanks

Can you please share that? I have 4 XP computers at home and neither of them can run it. It would be great as I need the SDK to run Chevron unlocker! Thanks!
Link pleaseee
I so desperately need this also
for those that want the tools on windows xp, here you go: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2010/05/02/10005980.aspx
I finally got it to install on XP!
Here's what I did,
Download the .iso file (it's at the bottom of the page) :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=04704acf-a63a-4f97-952c-8b51b34b00ce
After, make a new folder on your desktop and extract the ".iso" file into the folder.
Next, I grabbed the ".zip" file from here, : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9618980&postcount=81
Take the baseline.dat from the .zip file and replace it in the one with the extracted .iso files. Then just run setup.exe from the file. It should work! But make sure you have about 3 gb free from your hard drive. And emulator doesn't work, but I'm sure its fine if your not a developer.
Remember to hit the thanks button if it worked for you!
Like others I have also Black Screen Problems. This is not happening to all apps but especially in games like Temple Run , Temple Run Oz, Drag Racing Bike Edition even Twitter. For Games I can hear sound but nothing is visible in my eyes! I think my Bluestacks is latest (0.8.2.3018), I even make a new windows setup (Windows 8.1 is my OS) but problem still continue. So now anyone can tell me, what next I can really do to solve this weird problem?

I think it's because of Incompatible driver software and/or other Windows Incompatibility issue.. Try to troubleshoot the app and Run under Windows 7 environment with Administrator Privileges or consider updating your driver software for your Video Adapter.. If nothing else works, You can always use Virtualization Softwares like Oracle Virtual Box or VMWare or any other to Create Virtual Environment and Install Earlier version of Windows i.e. Windows XP/Vista/7 or 8 .. Hope it helps..
How did you install Bluestacks on Windows 8.1? I've tried numerous ways and attempts but they all fail during install.
You might be right, I will try to follow your suggestion. Thanks

I've seen many people reporting issues installing apps and other softwares or repacks and kernel dll error.. If this is your case, consider refreshing your windows installation of you've installed 8.1 update from store.. Otherwise you can just perform a fresh OS install.. Hope it helps with you..

Troubleshooting BlueStacks Black Screen Issue
I would say this problem is most certainly caused by incompatibility or/and outdated graphic card drivers.
You can troubleshoot this issue with a program that comes with BS: C:\Program Files\BlueStacks\HD-GLCheck.exe
Run the program and save the output to a text file for easy reviewing later.
Code:
cmd> "C:\Program Files\BlueStacks\HD-GLCheck.exe" > GLCheck.txt
Open the output log and scroll to bottom to check for errors such as any missing GL_EXTENSIONS.
If you see any missing extension, you probably will be getting a black screen if the app or program required that GL_EXTENSIONS to runs.
A missing extension does not necessary mean your graphic card does not support that extension, it could be as simple as the driver is outdated or does not have the GL feature built-in.
Your can try to update your graphic driver by visiting the links provided below, use the 'Auto Detect GPU' feature whenever the site support it.
Drivers from GPU OEM should be newer than the one provided by your PC OEM.
* Recommend to use Internet Explorer for GPU detection; Java might be needed.
Code:

[url]http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool[/url]

Good Luck!

I attempted codelover's method, failed miserably. I get so close to completing it and it fails (Screen capture: http://puu.sh/5AlZo/2065d2082a.jpg ). I guess I can do a system reload to windows 8, install it along with everything else and update to 8.1.

See the post title, i was referring to the 'Black Screen' issues.
For your situation, you can try use the Offline Installer to install.
Also check the windows temporary directory for latest BS setup log, the log can tell why the installation failed in the first place.

Trying to build my own AOSP ROM and I keep getting stuck on emulator unable to find the kernel version, though the file is there.
I am using Hyper-V VM with Ubuntu V20 installed and the VHD is exactly that, a .vhd file extension for the virtual hard drive.
I just can not seem to resolve the problem on the missing kernel, also have supplied a pic showing exactly what it says after the build is finished and then I try and run emulator.
Any help or info, links on the matter would be much appreciated and thank you for taking the time to help out.
I have also noticed I can not use "emulator -list-avds" nothing happens. Just exits and terminal is ready for user input again.
So far I did a repo sync again and then a m -checkbuild and just waiting for it to finish to try emulator again
Update: Decided to start from scratch
Changes that I have made.
Using Ubuntu 18.04 for O.S
Switched from M.S Hyper-V to Oracle Virtual-Box (V.B has more features then Hyper-V and is better in performance because of it.).
Virtual HDD is set to .VHD but is on Sata and not IDE now (Virtual-Box only allows it).
Made the VHD a fixed drive instead of dynamic for better performance (Max size of 512GB)
Dedicated 32GB of ram to VM.
Allowed up to 6 cores on a 12 core processor.
might experiment getting Oracle JDK installed instead of using openjdk, due to having issues with it.
UPDATE_1
Fresh build on 18.04 same issues as old build. emulator, avd and android. all not working.
I might have missed a package to download or something or maybe java still is not working. Using openjdk 11 at the moment. I am running out of ideas as to why i can not get it working.
Update_2
Looks like the reason emulator is not working is due to me not installing SDK, I am not using the IDE so I think I need the command-line & Platform tools installed. got to work out how to install it now.
UPDATE_3
SDK from what I know is installed. Now I am getting an output file is missing, but build completed with no issues. Please help, new image also supplied.
I'm attempting to side load Teams downloaded from Google Play running in an emulator onto my Pixel Pro 7. I get the error in the subject after I tap "Install" link from the "Do you want to install this app?" dialog after executing the .apk that I extracted using APK Extractor from the emulator
The emulator is running a Pixel 4 with Android API 34 x86_64 UpsideDownCake image. I tried an Arm image thinking I had the wrong OS architecture but that isn't the problem. Could it be related to the Pixel 7 Pro (and Pixel 7) needing 64 bit apps and Teams isn't 64 bit? I can't find anywhere that says what architecture the Teams app is and I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas on how to get Teams installed? I need it for work but it isn't work adding a google account to my phone although I still need Teams badly lol.
Try the ARM64v8A file from here - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/micro...icrosoft-teams-1416-1-0-0-2023063101-release/
Install it directly on the phone.
