As the title says, I am searching for a ROM+Kernel combo that enables DLSR control via OTG. I am currently on the latest ViperOneS, which supports OTG for mice keyboards and mass memory, but not remote control.
Also tried to use a USB Y cable for additional power, to no avail. Someone suggested that it's kernel related and I should downgrade from 3.4, but I haven't found definite proof in the forums.
So, has anyone managed to make it work, or has any advice? Thanks a lot in advance to all the community
PS. my reflex is a Nikon D7000

Quick update - works with BAKED blackbean 9 and 3.0 kernel
So, i decided to make a quick test. After a nandroid, I wiped and flashed BAKED blackbean. Now otg works with my D7000, although I still don't know if it's sense vs AOSP or the kernel version that's making the magic. Hope someone can clarify.. In the meantime I'll keep testing
[UPDATE]
So, I jumped on the 4.3 bandwagon with droyd's Odyssey ROM. This means AOSP and 3.4 kernel, and also sadly means no DSLR support whatsoever. Damn. At this point I'd like to know if there's a good stable Sense ROM, 3.0 kernell-driven, possibly JB since ICS apparently requires an external USB cable, because no power comes from the mini port of the phone.
tl;dr : 1) kernel 3.4 is almost certainly the reason for DSLR OTG not working
2) I need a Sens JB rom with 3.0 kernel
NEWSFLASH!
Found a working combination:
- MaximusHD ROM
-ElementalX Kernel v. 6.0
I read among the changelog "otg whitelist removed" so I gave it a shot and it works! Yay!!

is it possible to flash a kernel that supports usbhost or usb OTG on the sprint build? because I used odin to put it on the phone. But stock ICS doesn't seem to support usb OTG or am i wrong about that?
thanks...
seriously no one seems to know...?
I am not sure specifically about the Sprint version, but there are a few kernels in the development section that have USB OTG support.
Here's a few that worked on my 9020T:
-Matr1x: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1361477
-Glados: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1336529
-Steve Garon's: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427352
These can all be flashed over the stock ICS rom.
good to hear thanks!
hi all, I have got problem with USB connection, I can use only "charge only" mode, when I switch to another mode it return back to charge only after few seconds, where is the problem?
Have you tried with a different USB port or USB cable?
yes I tried 2 different PCs and cable is not problem because in recovery usb storage works fine
What rom are you using
You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother. - Albert Einstein.*
runnymede v2 and I tried also runnymede v3..same problem
Have you tried any other (more up to date ) Roms? When was it last working?
it worked on stock ics rom and these runnymede roms are the only I tried, can you recommend fully working sense 3.5 rom? (not ics)
What's wrong with ics? AFAIK no sense 3.5 Roms are still under active development, so I would really recommend a newer Rom
But if you really want to stick with sense 3.5, endymion is probably the most stable, fully working etc.
does ics roms have custom kernels?

I think that you need to go away and do a LOT of reading if that's the sort of question that you feel you need to ask.

Read the op of the Roms that appear near the top of the list in the development section, they're mostly the most up to date ones. That should give you some idea of the current state of development for our device. Then you could decide which might interest you, and read the recent comments in those threads (at least the comments since the last release).
I installed ICE DS and usb works again
I've searched Google countless hours coming to dead link after dead link in attempt to find a working download for Android Revolutions HD 2.3.2. As far as I'm aware 2.3.2 is the last version that had the capability to overclock the CPU. I tried the later ICS version but found I didn't like the interface nor it's performance on the TF101 in comparison to 2.3.2
Anyone know where I can download 2.3.2? Mike1986 should keep all old roms available for download because unfortunately devices fail.

If you have asked mike already and told you no I doubt anyone else has one... That's why you back up ROMs to the PC and as for keep backups of old files it takes a lot of space and he manages several devices... You can try looking on tablet forums if you haven't check already but that's a older rom ... Your bound to run into problems
Not being rude just saying
Samsung Galaxy S3
AOKP 4.2.2 by Task650
Ktoonz Kernel w/KingBeatz
ASUS TF101
A.R.H.D ICS 3.6
Harmony Kernel w/KingBeatz
If you want to overclock, use 3.5 or 3.6 and run a custom kernel like this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693799
Or this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565519
Step 1 Flash it in recovery
Step 2 wipe cache and Davlik
Step 3 Profit
I'll check if I have it on my tablet's microSD, I save all rom downloads... brb
EDIT: Sorry, the earliest version I have is 3.2.1, I recommend using a kernel as Fred suggested^^
Oops.. no delete button :\
Thanks
Thanks to those who replied. Your responses helped me to figure out what to do. I ended up spending much of the day catching up because I couldn't find the Harmony Kernel. I ended up getting aggravated and decided to use RaymondFX JellyBean AOSP 5.1.0 which includes the Harmony Kernel modded for JellyBean. Frederuco thanks for suggesting the Harmony Kernel, that actually got me on the right track to a suitable solution. The instigator of this whole mess, was I couldn't get a Bluetooth keyboard to function with 3.2.3. It'd connect but even after purchasing a high rated bluetooth app, I was unable to type a word with it. Then Google uploader or whatever it was quit functioning, I couldn't upload anything. I figured a reinstall of 3.2.3 would solve but finding it to download turned into a nightmare.
Hi,
is USB OTG not supported with the 3.4 Kernel? No matter what Rom is flashed it doesn´t work for me.
I tested Pacman, Illusion and CM10.1. But Sense Based Roms it worked. Other Kernel (Bubba, Twisted) does not work.
Sorry for my English
I am having the same problem and it seems that the answer is NO. Until CM guys change/update the kernel, we have to go back to Sense or use older roms.
hi there..
i have this question? is it work on stock kernel or works at all?
does the phone support the OTG capability?
this is a very important question on Persian forum and we appreciate the answers..

I can confirm that the hardware supports USB OTG, but whether it works is a matter of ROM and kernel.
I know changes are being merged into CyanogenMod 10.2 which activate the feature. I haven't been on a stock ROM in too long to comment on the situation there.
As far as I know, there is OTG capability on stock Sense kernels.

does someone knows if latest build of CM10.2 activates OTG??? i cant connect a usb keyboard
