I am currently launching Google Now by long-press-home. Is there some 1x1 shortcut or something I can make as an alternate?
JB 4.1 based ROM, FWIW.
Thanks,
AJ

HY,you can always use the search bar i guess is 4x1 but does the job.
There should be an icon labeled "Google" in your app drawer. You may drag it to the home screen and start Google Now from there.

Thanks. I will try these suggestions.
I didn't think the "Google" app would launch Google Now, but I obviously didn't try it.

have you checked play store app settings?
there's an option there called 'add widget automatically' (or sth like this )
Seems not to work with jelly bean. Short cuts still comes

This may just be a behaviour of Jelly-Bean. I spent today playing with a Nexus 7 and it does exactly the same thing; any new app I install automatically puts an icon on the launcher screen for me.
I didn't see any option to disable this, but didn't look particularly closely I have to admit.

Hello I'd really like to have the lock screen notifications that are swipeable to enter either the missed calls or received text messages but I don't want to go without the jellybean messaging layout. So if someone has already found a way to intergrate the touchwiz stock with the jb domination secmss or any other way to work his out I'd be greatful

Download mihome from the play store. You dont have to use the launcher if you dont want to, but it also installs milocker. Use this to select a vareity of lockscreen themes, I am sure you can find one in the app or on XDA and import I think. Good luck.
I found one called oppo, that is very cool.
Thanks for the idea but not what I'm looking for.

You can download the Jellybean messaging app from the play store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/....com.android.mms&feature=search_result#?t=W10.
Thanks for the suggestion but sorry not what I"m looking for. Again, I would like the jelly bean messaging interface with the touchwiz on screen lockscreen notifications.

How big of a reward are you offering? Messing with Touchwiz Framework is a *****!
A decent bounty depending on the result

To do this without coding, you could use this app and then change the lockscreen shortcut to this messaging app. Then, when you get a notification, you hit the lockscreen shortcut to this stock messaging app and then select the message. One more press of the screen to get similar functionality from the stock app. That's what I do.

Is there a way to be able to set Google Now to open on a long press of the home button? When I do it, it gives me the option to hit the Google Now link but can't I set it like s voice was before? Thanks!

It should auto open if you long press the menu button.
You can do this under CM 10. I am not sure if you are rooted and interested in using that ROM though.

Download an app from the Play Store called Home2 Shortcut. This will allow you to change the double click of the home button to use Google Now, or any other application that you want instead of S Voice.
I do that with my un-rooted Galaxy S3 i535. It's fantastic, just beware because Google Now doesn't play nice with your bluetooth headset is all.

I do the same with apex launcher. Works great, and is quicker than double tapping the home button.

I use Nova Launcher as well and set the home button to launch google now.
Sorry for a noob question. How can I launch clock in this device?
The best way is to have a widget on your home screen, that way it will be available all the time. You can also tap the all app icon and launch it from the app drawer.

Yes, we have widget for clock, but I mean here I want to see application "clock" listed in application list! Because in some other applications I want to link to "clock" when I touch somewhere on.
Are you saying you want to share something with Clock? I don´t think sharing is possible with the Clock app. If you want to join something, for examle an event, in another app to launch clock then Tasker is your best bet.

I want to explain such as: I have an app, and some functions in the app, one of them is touch to launch app, when I touch on the button, the list of all apps appear but not the "clock"!
Then it can't launch the clock....
Can't launch what isn't there.
Clock is a system app so it may be you require root access to get to it, however it seems the app you are using to start these other apps may not see the system apps so you still won't get it...

hello
mm, I don't have the touchwiz app installed and I'm not talking about the google search widget.
I'm talking about the normal search option in the "apps" screen.
for example when I want to use an app that I don't have in my home screen I go to "Apps" then I use the search option writing the first 2 letters of the app and it filters out and shows only the apps with those 2 letter right?, well I don't have this search option any more.
any ideas?
cheers!

Ok it looks like you are new to the android world !
So first of all touchwiz is the stock rom that comes with all samsung devices.. And the touchwiz app-drawer is the default app drawer !!
Anyways .. In 4.2.2 the feature is not there but you can always search the name of the app from the Google search widget on your home-screen !!
