Is there an app that plays a sound when you plug a nexus 7 in for charging? My wife and I share an outlet and often I come back after a few hours to find out the tablet didn't charge because the charger wasn't plugged in, since my wife had unplugged it to charge her phone. If I would hear no sound, at least I would know it doesn't charge.

Yes, the Nexus 7 have a wide selection of ROMs that are all free. Slim Bean in conjunction with Faux123 Ultimate kernel was my favorite. You can overclock the CPU to 1.6GHz with all 4 cores on or underclock and undervolt with only 1 - 2 cores active.

Hey other nexus 4 users. I can't be the only one experiencing poor battery life on my new nexus can I? I am using juice defender on default settings but I still run out of battery within 6 hours of being off the charger. I use an external battery for that extra power but it is a bother. Anyone else having similar issues?

I'm contemplating getting one.
How's the weight/feel/look with that beast on there? Any interesting tidbits? Things one should know or decide before buying?

It makes it a little heavier and bulkier, but I like it better that way. It's amazing all around in my opinion. No quirks or anything other than its hard to kill

Has the price for this battery been going up? I am trying to decide if I should jump on this or wait a little.

This is absolutely unbelievable.

Has anyone used the zerolemon 2300mah battery? I wonder if it is worth the $20 on amazon right now. Currently on my stock battery I get around 2 hours of screen time before I'm at 20%. Really would like to get more than that while keeping the stock battery form factor.
Pretty impressive.
Where yall toggling data or anything?

Yeah I have a lot of things off.
Like sync, backlight on the hardware keys, data and WiFi toggled when not in use.

I just got the set of 2300mah batteries. The shipping was super fast and they were well packaged. They come with a wall charger that also has USB power outlet. I forgot to check the specs on the charger before I left.
I'm charging one of them up right now and I'll get the 2nd going after work today. The directions state the need to initially charge it for at least 12 hours. That seems a bit excessive. Zerolemon also says that you'll need to do 5 charge/discharge cycles before optimum performance.
The only odd thing I noticed is that they recommended discharging fully every time. Everything I've read states that you shouldn't do that with Lithium-Ion.
If I have my Nexus 5 on a desk in front of me, I am unable to feel/hear it. Did I get a defective unit? I am missing notifications...

When your holding it in your hand does it feel strong or week? Also are you using a case? Some cases may be causing it. Most that have reported vibrator issues have been plaining of it being very loud.

This app is great I feel like 70 is good. 63 is eh. Thanks! This won't hurt the vibrate motor or make it die out early?..

Nah. Other manufacturers implement this as an option in their stock roms.

The nexus 5's charge has a 5.0v output (correct me if im wrong) so here the question is it ok to charge it with a 5.3v output powerbank?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Yes. Your phone regulates the current supplied to the battery so 5.3v will be fine.
You only risk damage of you go stupid voltages

Honestly, I'd personally play it safe and use the exact charging brick that the phone came with. Even in the Nexus 5 manual LG opposes of the use in using another charger other than the one the Nexus 5 comes with.

I used to use my wife's charger for he xperia z1s but I found that sometimes it would not charge even though it has the same specs so I would watch it and make sure it is charging correctly.
Recently my original charger only charges at 700ma vs the original 1200-1300 ma before. Now my phone charges half as fast, which is an annoyance but not a huge problem. Anyone got any ideas?

I had the same problem from day 1 when i received the phone. I contacted Google and they wanted me to send them the complete set of phone and box to send me a replacement. I simply used an older usb charger that came with my older phone.
I think its a quality or defect problem.

Really? How do you see the "absolute" input current? I thought bmw only showed the difference between the charge and drain currents...
