Hello everybody!
I have recently released my first Android app - Parking Karma.
The main purpose of this application is to help drivers find free parking spaces in their cities as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
The app is designed around a social networking experience, if you see a free parking spot that you’re not going to use, you can simply share it on the Parking Karma app, and when you’re vacating a parking space you can also share that, too.
Parking Karma also provides a set of features that (I hope) will make drivers life easier:
See and share free parking spots near to you
See and share traffic incidents near to you (closed streets, accidents, traffic jams, …)
Get the best route to get back to your parked car
Get alerted before your parking meter expires
See weather forecasts at a glance

For someone to know about the parking spots or accidents, someone must report these to this app? Also the person looking for such criteria must be using this app?

Exactly, the app is designed around a social networking experience, if you see a free parking place that you’re not going to use, you can simply share it on the Parking Karma app with a simple click, or also when you’re vacating a parking space you can share it.
In theory, sharing all the free parking spots you see will improve your ”karma” and should result in Parking Karma showing you all the best parking spots available, providing everyone who downloads the app does the same, of course.
Currently there are 3k users, it needs to reach much more users to result realy useful, but I hope that with the features that doesn't depends on the user base (get back to your car, parking meter reminder, weather forecast) the app is worth the download and the user base will grow.
I am also contacting some traffic authorities with the idea of getting a base of parking places updated by them in some cities

I've just published the first major update to Parking Karma!
With update 2.0, Parking Karma gets a set of features that helps users to never forget where they parked their cars:
− Take a photo of the parking place
− Set the level, letter, space and color of the parking place
− Get alerted before the parking meter expires
− Get the shortest route to get back to the parked car
That addition I think makes Parking Karma one of the best free "where is my car" apps, despite not being the main feature of the app.

TakeABreak is a project I've been working on recently. It has often occurred to me to look for toilets and water fountains when I am outside, but unfortunately they are not marked on Google Maps, so I developed my own solution.
This app lets you quickly find nearby public restrooms and drinking water fountains close to you. The app is good for hikers, bikers and urban dwellers alike! You can also choose to find nearby restaurants in order to use their amenities, but you may have to be a consumer of a store or restaurant in order to use them. Never get lost looking for a bathroom or a water fountain again!
The app queries the massive openstreetmap.org database for data, so anyone can add and make edits to the database. OpenStreetMap (OSM) is an open project to create a freely available map, a bit like the Wikipedia of maps. However, the database is not yet complete, and the usefulness of this app depends a lot on the completeness of the OSM database around you. Generally, OSM has more data in European cities than elsewhere. If you know some locations that's missing on the map, you're more than welcome to add them to the global OpenStreetMap database.

Love this idea. I have often had the following occur. I am driving somewhere, and in my travels, I pass something of interest. For me, it is usually something automotive, like an upholsterer, or a speed shop, or a machine shop, or perhaps an engine builder. I have always thought to myself, wouldn't it be great if I could just break out the phone, hit a button to remember the location, and jot down a note like "Engine Builder" for later recall. And now, it appears that there is such an app. Can't wait to try it out. Now, if you could enable a way to search the remembered places, that would be great. And perhaps a widget or shortcut that can be placed on the homescreen for quick location remembering.

If you appear to be abroad or in an unfamiliar city, and if you wish to quickly orient yourself in the surroundings near your location, the “Places Around” application will be helpful.
The “Places Around” application can quickly identify your precise location and helps to find different places around, such as restaurants, banks, public transport stops, hotels, cinemas etc.
For finding a place that satisfies all your requirements, you may do a detailed search of data, including exact address, phone number, web site, and rating, if the relative information is available.
The application is helpful both for tourists travelling in cities and countries as well as for common citizens willing to have a reference book of accessible places at hand.
The results of the search of places within 1 to 20 km radius around you may provide you with up to 200 exact coordinates.
- For proper work of an application, location provider – GPS – should be turned on to quickly and exactly estimate your location.
- For searching places around your location, the Internet connection should be turned on.
- The application does not consume much traffic. Subsequently, if Wi-Fi is not available, limited mobile Internet traffic may be used instead.
- Places can be viewed in an offline mode. If there has previously been an inquiry with the same parameters, all data will be saved in a database on your device.
- Over 90 kinds of places are available for search. All paces are divided into 9 groups for the reasons of convenience: government agencies, leisure, food places, health and beauty, stores, services, religion, transport and services, finance.
- The results of a search may be displayed either on a map or in a list form.
