Hi I have the gapps update for 4.2.2 (20130812). But, Every time I reboot by phone it says I need to update it again to this version, as if the update didnt stick.
Is this a known problem?
Is it suppose to do that?
Is there a fix for this?
If so, please do tell or point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

I suppose you could just go into the Goo.im app, and disable the update notification.

Okay.
I will take the update, then disable updates thru Goo.im, reboot my phone and see if all of the necessary updates stayed on the phone.
Hopefully it does and the goo.im updated is just a glitch...
I'll be back with details.
thanks

Ok wait a min... I'm new to this, I just updated my rom 2 days ago but it dawned on me that, that file its a zip file (duh) I need to unzip it, not just download it. I clicked on the finished download and I've come to this notification (pic attached).
I searched online and didnt find help on this...
I don't want to lose anything I have on my phone so, what will be the best option to choose?
Just hit flash and don't check off any options?
Thank u.

You should reboot into recovery [CWM] and flash zip from sdcard.
That'll do the trick.

i must have downloaded about 5 diff versions of the 0812-signed gapps .zip, and whenever i try to flash any of them (cm 10.2, using safestrap on a droid 4), the flash screen either flashes once really quickly (no apparent flash), or i get a red error "unable to open .zip file".
any suggestions?

Both dowloads failed?

Is it normal that the MD5 on first post of this thread and MD5 on Goo.im differ ?

Hi., I have china samsung s4 clone MTK6572 .., GT-I9500.., android version 4.2.2..missing google play store. So if I download Google play apk on sd card and install., I cant see google play in system/app. My phone is rooted and having CWM recovery. Also it fails to back up through recovery...the error is failed to mount sd card. So if I flash this zip through CWM recovery.., will work?

It should work.

On CM 10.1 of erikcas don't need install Gapps. For me is enough it that has.

I updated an app this afternoon and it now appears in a third category, recently updated (normally I just got installed or update). I believe this is a change.
Sent from my rooted Speak and Spell running OS X Mountain Lion.
thanks :good:
Finally this time Google shared few point of change log...
1. recently updated tab
2. Notification Club.
3. Bug fixex
4. Over the top new version
If you click the link it has the whole article from Androidpolice regarding the change.
There seems to be an additional update, though the version number has not changed. (I could tell because my anti virus ran a check on an update).
Perhaps a quick big fix? I did notice a minor graphical issue (one featured app tile was over sized).

DashClock Update

It'd be nice if we had access to DashClock updates like anyone else. Today a new version of DashClock came out on the Play Store but we can't update it because it's inbuilt into Omni.
+1 for this
Delete /system/app/DashClock.apk of change its extension.
Reboot.

i know, but the error was reported to be corrected in next build. :fingers-crossed:
Just tried updating on latest nightly and still getting the error. Even deleting the apk and rebooting I can't install from the Play store. Maybe remove DashClock from Omni altogether, it's easy enough to install from the store and we'll be able to get updates when they're released and not have to wait for a new hold of the ROM, this is far to much like a OEM/carrier restriction.

I removed the .apk that comes with OmniROM, rebooted, and installed the newest version from UtkarshGupta's link. Everything went fine.
Now for the .apk to survive between updates, all you have to do is add the DashClock.apk to an .sh script in the /system/addon.d directory. Works like charm on my manta (Nexus 10).

I'd rather be able to just update from the store and not have to worry about scripts. I'm also in the DashClock beta program which I don't get with it being included in the ROM. I know it's possible to do as you stated but I'd prefer to do it via the store and still be involved in the beta program.

+1.
There's something I don't really understand, though.
As far as I can tell from the changelog, Dashclock updates should have been added to Omni on 1/1-14. But even though I just tried removing the system APK and updating to the latest nightly build of Omni, it's still running Dashclock 1.5 build 26... Should that not be 1.6 build 30?
Yeah I'd noticed that as well. Will have to try and bring this up as a feature/bug request on their jira tracker if they have one.

Flashed it now. Let's see the difference
Hi @ishtiaqe22
I think the exact same mod been available since 4 months ago on my another thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-enable-doze-google-play-services-t3608783
It also already available on Magisk Official Repo
But its a good thing that now users on another sub forum can be aware of this mod
Only, to prevent confusion from the existing mod users, you might want to consider of using my or @VR25 flashable zip, with a referal link to original thread maybe
Since it exactly did same thing
Cheers !
Nb : thanks @Ubimo for heads up. Hopefully there wont be too much confusion
