[Q] Samsung SGH-1747M CyanogenMod/ Clockworkmod - General Questions and Answers

I need to know how to backup my ROM and flash cyanogenmod to my Samsung Galaxy S3.
The problem I am encountering is that I own a SGH-1747M Canadian version of the phone with Virgin Mobile and I have no idea which version of cyanogenmod or clockworkmod to install. I don't want to install the wrong version and brick my phone.
Please help.

Try downloading the goomanager app it will help you download a custom recovery and show you and allow you to download Roms for your phone from the app, including cyanogenmod, assuming your rooted already

Please help! Sph-d710bst need root support

I want to start by saying i am very new to rooting, kernels, roms etc. so if someone could help me with some detailed steps i would greatly appreciate it. I recently purchased my sph d710bst (i know is pretty old) and have it currently rooted with AGATS fi27 kernel v0.6.8. Everything works great but I'm getting a little tired of the ROM. I've tried flashing new kernels through odin (pc) so i can get CM, AOKP or really any new kernel and ROM lol. But i haven't been able to successfully flash anything. After the kernel flash and loading the ROM through recovery i always get (status 7). On top of all that, nothing seems to be compatible with my device as I've found after purchasing the pro versions of everything ( mobile Odin, ROM manager, etc). Again any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!

Im having the same problem, ive looked everwhere and can not find any roms or kernel for the SPH-d710bst epic 4g gs2. I have read that all kernels for the SPH-d710 should work how ever ive tryed a bunch and it bricks it. I did get a nightly cyanomod to work but it took a big of work and i didnt use a gapp so i didnt have the google stuff nor did i have data. I am waiting for a stable one to come out and ill use that, the gapp and jp's modems and it will work. You can try that with the nightly cyanomod, but make sure u get the gapp and jp modems for data, also u must have bussybox and it says cmm but agat worked for the flash then after the flash do a factorywipe wipchetch and dev and then reflash cmod then gapp the modem then boom u should be good. Ps if phone gets bricked just use jp's stock one click "wit data".Psps: If anyone has any other known mods kernel or roms please list them for us.

[Q] Rcovery Issues

Hey Guys,
I went an bought an Infuse for my daughter's first android and it came with 2..2 so I rooted it and installed CWM and flashed it up to 4.22 ...I'd like to flash one of the 4.3 Roms but every time I try I get the Status 7 error meessage. I'm assuming it's due to an out dated CWM but since I can't update it through Rom Manager and I can't seem to flash TWRP successfully I'm at a loss...Any ideas??
Any help would be appreciated.

when you get the error did you try to flash again the 4.3 rom, if you don't flash twice the rom and post your results.

Cwm can't find its own backup!

Don't know really where to start but I'll give it a go.
I've been using twrp to try different roms
For a while and it worked great until tried cm 10.2 /4.3 then it wouldn't let me download any more roms just stopped?
I then wanted to try linaro kitkat rom so installed cwm recovery over the top of twrp and flashed kitkat with no problem
Now before I flashed kitkat I made a backup using cwm so I could go back to cm 10.2 but when I tried to use the backup it saying there was no files could someone please tell me how I can get cm 10.2 back on the phone as I love that rom
The files are on the SD card but not showing in recovery mode
Is there a way I can flash the backup I made back on the phone even though cwm can't find it
Sorry if this is confusing but my heads in a right shizzle over this.

Help

Hi, I installed CM 10.2 in my GT-P3110 but now I want to install Stock 4.2.2 and I do not know how to do this without bricking the tablet because of retogressing its android version. The last time I did it was when I installed CM 10.1 after installing CM 10.2, the tablet got stuck in Samsung logo when booting it.
There is a good tutorial in this forum I returned to stock from cm ,11 last week with no issues

Just be prepared to do a full wipe and it will be fine

Just do a clean wipe and you'll be good. When I change Android versions and/or install a completely new ROM, I always format data too.
Use odin
the only way to retun to ctock is download the latest version of rom from sammobile and use odin to flash

Clockworkmod on S4 4.3?

I have the Galaxy S4 quad-core variant on AT&T running Android 4.3. I installed ROM Manager and from there tried installing Clockworkmod and TWRP (the latter after failure of the former) and the ROM Manager said below my device name "unsupported device". I heard I have to install manually. Is this true or can I not do any of this because I am on Android 4.3? Yes, I am rooted. I really want to flash either Google Play ROM or CyanogenMod, but I can't until I get a custom recovery up and running. Please help.

I don't have a GS4, but maybe this link can help you.
Well.. guess I can't post links just yet. Go to galaxys4root(dot)com, they have a section about installing recoveries on the GS4.
