Try Titanium Backup. It has that option and i use it all the time in all my devices (unfortunately i just bought a used tf300t updated to latest fw and i cannot root nor unlock it so far). You can even make flashable zips from recovery with Titanium. If you use these zips i recommend each time you make a clean install, let it boot once, dont set up anything, and then just reboot to recovery and flash titanium's zip. You can even restore your accounts with it. just dont restore such settings when you re changing different custom roms or android versions, cause you might get fc's.
I cant find it in titanium backup mate where is it found?

You can choose either the green or the yellow. It's just different format /way of tibu to backup. I usually use the green one.

Last time I restored it was on my tf101 going from 4.2.2 to 4.3, tibu managed to restore everything besides wifi access points. Don't know why, I tried several times but nothing. I didn't have the yellow option backed up to try, so I suggest to keep a back up of both green and yellow just in case...

I was unable after searching to find a clear answer. Why is rom manager not able to flash clockwork on the g2x. Will it ever be possible or will we always have to update cw through NVflash?
An application cannot tamper with the recovery image of the device, no matter what. NVflash works with the processor directly.

If I installed CWM using NVFlash, should I still install ROM Manager from market once my phone is up and running?
I did the install after setting up the phone. There is really not much it does. If you try to check for a new nightly or ROM it always says to install the recovery. If you try to reboot to recovery, same thing. There just does not seem to be a lot of use around the application when it cannot do anything with the recovery at all.

Maybe. It does make things a bit more convienent, and doing the fake flash does not overwrite the true flash of NVFlash, or if it does just go back and flash via NV again. You can tell the difference because fake flash is orange while true flash is red.
I installed before I flashed true recovery, and the app still works. There's nothing Rom Manager does that CWM doesn't (unless you buy premium), but the app does it a bit more easily and saves you from having to navigate recovery mode.
Rom manager does not support dual core
Sent from my LG-P999 using Tapatalk
You don't need to fake flash to use all the features. Just press menu and click manual flash override. It allows you to set your recovery in the app so it will let you use all the features.

its not needed unless your returning the phone to stock.
All of my study is in the city so my tab could get stolen one day and at home i have a younger brother who loves to play with settings etc
Is the encyption worth the hassle?
Does it break anything?
Do i have to decrypt re-encrypt every boot is it slow?
I have never had this option before but it seems like a good idea i just want to know how it plays in real world use before i do it.

The problem with having an encrypted partition is that CWM at moment can't really do anything useful to those partitions. You cannot flash, backup, or restore via CWM. This means your ability to work with custom ROMs is effectively crippled. In fact, to undo the encryption (or if you forget your password), I had to nvflash back to stock. Factory reset via CWM cannot be done since, again, the partitions are still encrypted.
If in the future, CWM is able to access the partitions like the stock recovery can, then you'd be fine.

I wouldn't touch it for now. If/When CWM allows for it (possibly ICS, as I might guess that the closed nature of HC is limiting development around encryption support?) then maybe..
Thats a good point ae hopefully with icys than can also make abit more headway with the more advanced recoverys to
Never thought about that before thanks

Most likely your contacts are causing the error. Try this thread.

When you wipe and install your rom, when you restore your stuff on your phone do you restore just apps from a titanium backup or do you do apps and system data? If you restore any system data, that will def fudge up things.
Allways use titanium never system apps only data apps

The furthest ive gotten is doing it manually in cmd and it says the image file is not a loki image and when it boots recovery its blank black screen. No one has any help for me? Should i try going back to stock recovery first? How do i do that?

So you'll never guess what happened. I woke up next to my phone and it was in cwm! But guess what?! My phone did the OTA on its own while I was asleep and bricked my 2 day old phone! Any help WITHOUT using Linux? I can't even get into recovery anymore because I tried to install another recovery zip to fix it and now there is no recovery

I'm making an appointment with geeksquad (phone came from best buy) and the service rep I talked to said they'd most likely replace it for me. If not, my computer asks me if I want to format the drive (repeatedly when I plug it in with every drive letter of the alphabet) what would happen if I did?

Just restore back to stock. There is a lot of info on how to do this on this forum. You don't need the geek squad.

Are you using a custom ROM or are you using stock?
If using a custom ROM, ask about this issue in the thread where you got the ROM from.
If you are on stock and you updated via OTA, the issue might be caused by something left behind from before the update, try booting to recovery and wipe only the cache partition, do not factory reset, then reboot and see what happens. If that doesn't help, try booting to recovery and factory reset the device.
