Hey guys i had some free time so thought to post this
Always want to know how many devices are connected to wifi
Here u go
Log into your router and go to the "status" tab (depending on your router). Then click on "local network." Then select your DHCP client table. This will tell you all of the equipment connected you your network. You can further restrict them by enabling the mac address filter. This is through your Windows OS, it will only tell you the machines connected that are in your same work group
There would be a table of lan and id
Block the mac address u dont know
Thats all
Enjoy ur secure network

Seriously?
Incorrect as most routers do this differently, menus are different and locations of information are different.
Incorrect as the router will NOT only show you devices in your workgroup, it won't care.
Incorrect as you need to block by MAC ADDRESS for devices you don't know.
If you don't know what you are talking about then please don't post things just to look good.

I respect ur reply
But i tested it my self
The status ip of different routers are different so i cant post it here
This is through windows only
But with router the modes are different
For incorrect mac address i by mistake wrote it as ip i was just to correct it and saw this
I have googled it a lot and then posted
And for just to look good- It was not for that but just to share
Searched but no topic of this
So dont give negative remarks
Thanks

XDA is a Mobile Phone development site. There is a thread in Off Topic for people who want help/advice on PC stuff - otherwise there is Google (or other search engines).
What next? Advice on how to check your mains electricity fuse? How to change a light bulb?

Ok now that i got your attention...
I'm currently developing an android application for 2.1 that uses sockets to connect to a local wifi network and send information to another app which has the role of the server (Client-Server model) My question is this...
What class/methods/tools can i use so i can make a spesific record in the SQLite DB which im using in the apps to create an XML and sent it over from the wifi network? That might require a DTD also i recon but what's the way to do it?
All the examples i found are talking for android apps sending xml's to a web server so that's quite diffrent from what im trying to accompolish!
Why i want to transfer XMLs? In my opinion it uses less CPU than any other java programming technique like arraylist so it will be smoother for the actual apps.
Thanks for your help!!

I changed the title as it almost got deleted as it looked like a spam post. I would be careful how you title your threads.

Just do some googling for Android TCP/IP sockets and you'll find loads of stuff. For development help, there's always Stack Overflow. Same as on here, search before asking, but it's a great site for specific code issues. They do have an Android-specific area. Here's a link to all the Android tagged questions...

Good luck with your app
Just got an android project from supervisor and I have only 2 weeks to go to show him all the basic functions of the project, and I'm new to all these thing.
The idea of the project is to get peoples connected to each other without using internet connection, which meaning that we create and connect by our own network like LAN, and maybe others.
We need a database to store data like pictures and chat logs too.
So, my questions will be what kind of database/server we use for android application to store data ? and any ideas on create a own local area network or any kind of other network to get peoples who use the application connected ?
You should look into how companies have created social networking over text messaging infrastructures

Sounds like you are probably going to get fired... How is it you have a job where you would be expected to do this.. but have no clue how to do it. 2 weeks is not long enough for you to "learn" android to do what you need to do. Id tell him now that you are cluless and need help otherwise , in 2 weeks when your project is due, he is going to be pretty dissapointed in your performance.
Better to admit you are a Dillard than try to cover it up.

Ops sorry my bad, I'm actually still a student , just that one of the lecturer assigned to be my supervisor and gave me one project before I graduate. Every students must finish a project before they graduate.
The program might not be perfect but at least it must be functioning.
I did some research and now I have some basic idea on developing android app.
Now I'll need any of you to guide me a little bit, about the database that will be used for android.
Example like creating a Registration interface, allow users to register but without internet connection, meaning that we use LAN or any other kind of connection.
Meaning that we create our own connection and get the users connected together.
How to use internet pc to any android mobile for data cable..
Probably belongs in the Q and A section

Howdy, it looks like what you are looking for is called "reverse modem tethering" this is a feature that you'll have to do some reading and a little of command line commanding but most devices on the market now have this somewhere allowable.
Some things to consider doing or reading up on:
modem tethering; (reverse or otherwise) this is the act of sharing a data connection from one device to another, there are many methods now available. Add 'wifi' , 'bluetooth' , and or , 'USB' to your Google search quarries.
Specs; (your computer(s) and your android phone/tablet/phablet) when you post back with more questions provide some of this information so others can direct you to more specific information or methods to solve your question.
ADB; (otherwise known as Android Debugging Bridge) is a very complete but somewhat unfriendly way of taking full control of your device though the USB port; there is also a wireless version on some devices if you're willing to have that kind of security risk. Add 'ADB' to google search quarries involving modem tethering and maybe 'port forwarding'.
Edit your first post; if you put "[Q]" (without the quotes) as the first three characters of your thread title you'll find more people looking to answer your question, and maybe add the OS that your computer is running with the version of Android and model of device. This kind of structure to a forum title makes it really easy for those that have the knowledge to help you to quickly find your question and also encourages them to help as it shows you're actively looking to get this solved quickly, one more thing, when its solved change the title to reflect that with the word 'Solved' in the brackets instead of a 'Q', this will keep people from trying to re-answer your question and help other Google searchers out there find the solution that you or others provide here.
Hope some of this can be of help to you in your searches for solutions, if not try google with the following examples---
Google: how to reverse modem tether (general for android with usb)
Same search as above but with a "similar" command sent to the search bar so it will filter the web to results that are or are similar to XDA-Developers
Much the same as the above to links but the results list is less than 5,000 results and should return only related and helpful links for all operating systems
---with all of the above links take a look at how I constructed the Quarry and make edits to suit your needs, you can also try replacing "similar:" with "site:" to search only one site when you find one that is particularly helpful and change the URL part to reflect other sites you find useful. If you want more specific answers then most readers (myself included) will need more specific questions
Hello guys, how are you doing. ok what im trying to post here it's about my idea about apps that make the Network Administrator greatfull that he got this kind of apps. android apps it's all about Idea, if your apps are make people life easy and more futeristic then your apps are the one that top 10 must have. says this man " swami vivekananda "

Mkay guys this are my ideas.
first Apps:
Network Mac Address Alarm Notifacation.
that mean, if the terminal Mac address has come connect to the network the people the one have the apps will alarm or notifacation will popup
saying this mac address has login into the network, the user will have the ablility to mark certain Mac Address saying this mac are with PC, what model, is it phone or Laptop, are these mac address are legit one so the owner of the wifi will keep hes network secure these days wireless AP are easy to hack and those tools are Leets! post in on public! think of it. this apps will hit the download numbers! Awesome right??!?
on the next post i'll post more of my ideas.. i'm a man with idea's but i dont have the ability like you guys coding, that will take years for me to learn. beside im kinda old good days XDAgeek! we meet again.

Hey TheGreenMy, you have amazing ideas and you are just divine to serve the society with your creative ideas. but don't just let your Ideas closed in just discussions. There are many firms that let people like you to make their own apps.
The one i suggest you for this is Apphinge - The online App portal
You don't need to learn any programming language for developing mobile apps.
You can simply design your ideas there and easy app development
My college is the most restrictive college in the world. They block almost every site and social media thingy. There is no way to bypass this as they also block every port except 80 and 443 so proxies don't work. Even openVPN's wont work for some reason. I am now at the stage of hacking into the router and editing the settings. The only issue is I cannot connect to it via the default gateway. It must be connected to by ethernet, and I am not going to break into the IT building and hacking it there. Please help as at the moment i am between a rock and a slightly harder rock. If this is the wrong forums please direct me to another so I can get help. I desperately need this. Thanks in advance!
