I personally wouldn't waste my money on another zagg screen protector. They make a good product, just not worth $20-25 each. I have used their warranty and it's worth the $3 for the shipping for a replacement, no hassles getting a replacement either. But the hd claims to be more clear, no orange peel. I got one for my s3 and it had orange peel, even the replacement had the peel effect.
I went with the tech armor for $22.95 on amazon w/2 day shipping, I love my prime membership. You can't go wrong. It's crystal clear, no bubbles and hasn't scratched yet. I've had mine since verizon released the s4. Glass screen protectors are the way to go. Here's a link to the one I got. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CD0I8EK/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 There are a bunch of glass screen protectors out there, just search the forum. I haven't had any issues with fit with any case I've tried.

How hard are the glass ones to apply?

Zagg is horrible in my opinion. The texture is very artificial. I prefer a glass feel. I'd recommend a glass protector.

I have put on many film screen protectors and find them pretty easy, but I've done plenty of graphics on cars. Wet applications are much easier to work with and get right.
The glass protectors I find are even easier. The tech armor went on with no liquid if I remember right. It was very easy. It just takes patience. The one thing I really liked about the tech armor glass protectors was the little suction cup holder it came with. Made easy for getting the alignment just right. Just put some pressure in the middle of the screen and work your way out.

i was gonna buy a glass one, but i got the zagg instead simply because i was at bestbuy and had a gift card, it looks fine after a day or so it settles in so to say, and it seems to get more clearer as the days go bye, of course im used to the cheap one in the defender so anything would look better then that. But i agree with others and say get a glass one if you don't need it right at this moment.

Yeah, zagg are really draggy, put one on the back of you s4 and you will never drop it again
I hear good thinks about Skinomi screen protectors.

Not really. I dont see why everyone says this. Unless they apply an unnecessary amount of pressure when sliding their finger on the screen. I barely have to touch my screen on my s4 for it to register

Love the TBOLT..but geez the glass sucks!

I love everything about the tbolt...except for the glass. It is scratched already! i have owned an og droid, droid x,fascinate, and incredible. all of them had no screen protection, and none of them had any scratches. The tbolt after 2weeks has scratches already!! Im wondering what kind of sh*ty glass HTC used...WTF???
Yeah, I noticed a scratch on mine (nearly superficial and hard to see). I've been very careful with the phone too, so it's sort of annoying.
Screen protectors like ghost armor are the best.

With the right glass...protectors are not needed. Im wondering what my glass is gonna look like after 6mos. A real bummer. I hate screen protectors
Its a 250 dollar phone, buy the 10 dollar screen protector as well. I treat my phones like they are my children but still use a screen protector because lets face it, who knows what is going to get into our pockets? Or, if you put it down on its face you may not see anything but that doesn't mean that there is nothing there.
Sorry to hear that it scratched but they don't just make screen protectors for the hell of it.
Dammit, you guys are making me paranoid. Ghost Armor, huh? Is that the best or what? Other opinions on best screen protector?
I usually don't use screen protectors cause I hate the feel they add. But I'm using one on my TB for the same reason the OP stated (and I had a Droid and Droid 2 previously)
Anyway, I use SGP Ultra Crystal... It feels like nothing is there, and it doesn't look like it has a screen protector on it.
I bought it from ebay, because ironically enough, their ebay store is cheaper, (no shipping vs $3 shipping)

+1 for the SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystals. I've used Zagg and Ghost Armor in the past, but then I tried the Stenheils and I will never go back to anything else.
Super strong, feels just like the glass to the touch after a day or so once they've been "broken in", and easily just as clear as the glass itself
EDIT: And yes, buy from their ebay store instead of their website or Amazon since ebay will get you free shipping (just as fast, too)
I just checked out the site for SGP, there's several version of these protectors? Which one are would you guys recommend?
Ultra Crystal Clear : Ultimate Clarity
Ultra Fine : Anti - Fingerprint
Ultra Oleophobic : Oil-Resistance
I'm leaning toward ultra fine.
what???? I had my eris for 15months and there has yet to be on the scratch on the glass. Some retarded coworker caused me to drop my phone down this ramp at work and the plastic got chipped yet the glass is still scratchless. I keep the phone in my left pocket with nothing else in it. Are you telling me that the tbolt would scratch in the conditions I have put my eris through? Besides the drop of course. eris glass > tbolt glass? that is hard to believe.
getting my tbolt today, so I still have a chance to cover it.
I wouldn't chance it man. If you have to, grab the crappy VZW protectors until you can get a better brand of protector.

Isn't this phone using Gorilla Glass, which seems to be highest quality glass screen out there. Or is it something cheaper.

Nope, but it's supposed to be using something similar (minus the trademark name). Obviously whatever it is, it's not quite that similar after all.

It is DEFINITELY not Gorilla glass which is to bad because we would not need the screen protectors if it was.....

Its not even close! It seems like regular glass if you ask me.
Yeah, definitely not gorilla glass or anything even remotely close. I had an iPhone 4 for 7-8 months before switching to the T-Bolt. Not a single scratch on my iphone screen in that time period, but had a scratch on my thunderbolt screen within the first 72 hours. Super disappointing.

Crystal Clear is the clearest and strongest. It looks and feels just like the phone's natural glass
Ultra Oleophobic is a slightly less strong and a slightly less clear (but still really clear!) than the Ultra Crystals, but resists fingerprints. Personally, the Ultra Crystals don't pick up fingerprints more than the glass.
Ultra Fine are very different from the two above. They have that matte-type screen that diminishes screen clarity and viewing angles, but they completely resist fingerprints. So it's a trade-off
I'll agree with this. They put some crappy screen on this phone. I take excellent care of my phones, I had my Eris for a year and a half, no screen protector, and not a scratch on it.
After about 3 or 4 days with my Thunderbolt, I noticed two small scratches on it. I went ahead and ordered a screen protector from BoxWave to at least prevent it from getting more. Maybe if I'm lucky putting the screen protector on there will make these two scratches less visible.
I don't even know how it got scratched. Nothing has happened to the phone.
EDIT: Ok, I just noticed a THIRD scratch on the damn phone! What the hell? I've been even MORE careful with the phone since I noticed the first two scratches, while I'm waiting for my screen protector to get here. What the hell are they coming from? Putting it in my pocket?! Geez.
This thread...wow...dont put your phone in your pocket without protection
Currently I'm using a body glove with a screen protector from Verizon, but I'm eagerly waiting for an Otterbox case to come out.

actually, don't worry too much. i've used mediadevil on my S2 and it's been great. they're available for the S4 too.
Actually, you don't need to apply any protector to your phone, if you can stand for very minor scratch to your screen.
The corning glass is excellent scratch proof, I have been using no screen protector since my first iPhone 4 and coming with samsung s3, s4, iphone 5 and etc.... What you get is a better screen, color and contrast if you just don't mind the minor scratches.

I bought a cheap glass screen protector off of amazon. It was some generic one from China. With Amazon prime free shipping I couldn't pass it up.
pros: super clear, finger print resistant, protects screen well
cons: breaks after some abuse (though better this than the screen)
When my first one broke after considerable abuse I ordered two more to replace it. at $10 it wasn't bad. When the one I have on now breaks, I'll just pop my backup on and order another spare.
This cheap and the feel of real glass vs the Ghost Armor I had before, it's great.

I got mine on eBay and have the same philosophy. The glass fells like the screen and under abuse the tempered glass will crack.
It happened to me recently and I installed my spare and bought two more.
Can't beat the way the glass ones look and feel.
I also bought an aluminum button to extend the factory button. So now the home button is not recessed.
I have had my iloome screenmate for a good while and it hasn't cracked or anything and it has been used.
Glass is the only way to go

$20 is cheap insurance to protect your screen. A plastic one isn't going to protect your screen from damage. It may protect it from scratches but not from being busted if your phone is dropped.
DieselDawg
You can't go wrong with the SPIGEN SGP Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector, once you install it correctly it really holds and protects the screen from pocket scruffs.
My cousin got into a motorcycle accident last year and the screen protector w/ the Spigen slim armor case protected his phone.
Tempered glass is the only thing for me from now on. $5 on eBay. Feels excellent, optically clear to me. Same screen sensitivity to me.
No need to blow 20+$ on big names. I break it, buy 5 more. No big deal.
Buy plastic sheets and the scratch and peel off in a week.
Even no name temp glass is better.
For me is the anti-glare screen protectors, for read is the best choice.

Tempered glass vs. plastic screen protector

I have been a long time user of the $10 3 pack of plastic film protectors you can get on amazon, they work fine however after a few months they get scratched, hold tons of fingerprints and need to be replaced. What I'm wondering is would a tempered glass screen protector necessarily have any better fingerprint resistance or scratch resistance vs the plastic or is the only real advantage the fact the the tempered glass will shatter if dropped and not your phones screen. I'm considering the zagg glass only because of the free replacement. I previously used their invisible shield on a nexus 7 and was not impressed at all but am willing to give them another try only because of the free replacement.
I've tried many plastic screen protectors and I used to have the same issue after a while they would track tons of fingerprints and wear down. I tried out the iLoome 8H Hardness Premium Screen Protector with Oleophobic Coating for the LG G2 and LG G3 and it's amazing. I feel like it helps against the fingerprints and scratches.
I was previously a hater of screen protectors (because of the plastic ones) until I realized how anal I could be over micro scratches on my actual screen. Once I noticed one, I bought a glass screen protector for the first time. Was the Caribu on Amazon. I failed to apply it correctly because it was a first time thing but I still loved the feel, thought it was great & left it on for a couple weeks. I ordered the Bepak tempered glass on eBay which ships from China. Lined it up perfect first try and the adhesive slowly migrated across my screen leaving no bubbles. It's smoother and resist fingerprints better than the naked glass. No scratches yet.
In short, tempered glass screen protectors are the only reason I can even say I like screen protectors.

I always used the lesser destructible protectors from zagg skins or clearcoat etc. With this device I decided I try out the zagg tempered glass and I don't think I would ever go back to any other screen protector. They give you added protection and are super clear! Definitely worth the extra investment
No matter what, I can never stay away from android for long.
Stay away from the Bodyguardz tempered glass screen protector. It has sensitivity issues. Hopefully AT&T takes mine back when the new one I ordered from Spigen gets here.
I have the XtremeGuard Spartan Tempered Glass screen protector. It feels like glass, it seems to be just as sensitive, and it's not cloudy like some matte screen protectors are. There are only 2 things wrong with it: the top-right corner refuses to adhere, and it normally costs $50. I got it during a 90% off sale so it cost me $5 (totally worth it), but there's no way I would ever spend more than $10 on this thing. $5 was about right.

My local at&t wouldn't take mine back
Thankfully the sensitivity issue has gotten better with use. But it still messes up from time to time. I did get it 50% off, as well as my otter box case, so I guess I can't complain too much.
Side note: I'm not sure if I'm the only one that does this but I get the otter box defender and I actually pop out their "screen protector" and use a glass screen protector with it. Looks nice and feels protected

You are not the only one. I popped mine out too. Did the same on my S3.
I has the screen sensitivity issue when I first put the zagg on. I haven't noticed it lately however. Could be that I've just completely forgotten about it or it genuinely could have gotten better.
No matter what, I can never stay away from android for long.
Wanted to chime in that I am also having issues with the Bodyguardz tempered screen protector. Traded a s5 for the g3 (So happy I did) and I've noticed things will get selected when I'm trying to scroll. Then other times I have to select something multiple times to get it to work. Driving me nuts.
Zagg Tempered Glass
Figured I'd add my 2 cents I've had my Zagg glass on about a month and it has been absolutely flawless.. and like the video shows.. that sumbitch will not scratch. Its got those hard plastic covers beat by a mile. I'd swear by it.. Once you put on a Zagg glass protector.. you'll kick yourself for ever having messed with others.
Sensitivity : 10
Clarity : 10
Ease of application : 10
and its lifetime gauranteed ... will be on every phone I ever use from the g3 on out :good:
I bought ZeroLemon Tempered Glass and love it. Simple to install and feels great. Never going back plastic screen covers. For 8.99 plus .69 cents for S/H cant beat it.
Wanted to update, I went to best buy and bought the zagg glass one and it's great. Way better then the bodyguardz. No finicky screen issues and not as thick so cases fit just fine. I have to agree with dlbcell.
Zagg Glass +1
Just thought I would chime in and say the Zagg Glass is amazing and I would rec it to anyone. Just as a plus, show this at any bestbuy and you can get it for 22 bucks. Now that is worth it 100%. Would have gladly paid 40 bucks for it if I hadent found this.

I had the same issue with Bodyguards. At intermittent times parts of the touchscreen failed to respond to touch. Going to make a complaint and see if I can get my money back or at least a credit on my bill. I have since put on a Zagg Glass and have not noticed the issue...and it actually feels better for swyping.
I swear by Realook protectors. Sure, they're plastic, but they are the best fitting and best feeling I have found. Crystal clear and no orange peel or rubbery drag. I tried the Ziess glass cover on my g2 and could never get over the combination of the extra thickness at the edges and that cases either lifted it or eventually just plan broke it.
You have fingers, you will put prints on anything.
I'll never buy another plastic screen protector. Glass is the way to go..
Its like Cassette tapes vs CD's there's no contest...
I get mine of Amazon and pay between 5 and 10 dollars ..

[Q] Picking a Screen Protector

Hey guys, I'm currently deciding between screen protectors
Zagg InvisibleShield Glass
Luvvitt Tempered Glass
Tech Armor Premium Ballistic Glass Protector
I can't post links yet so sorry about that!
I'm always open to suggestions but those 3 are the ones I've seen most recommended after reading a couple threads on screen protectors on other forums. Pick a poll option and explain why!
rocking with a 9H ZeroLemon Glass screen protector and installation took me like 2 minutes only and the Glass SP is just amaazing it is by far the best screen protector i have ever used on any phone, no smudges no glare no graphic distortions touch feels good smooth and well i just would give it a 10/10 .
Im in the same situation. I was looking into the zerolemon one and they do offer lifetime warranty but that only applies if you scratch the protector or get air bubles in it, not if it shatter when the phone falls, and they apparently send a new one.
However this one, with the shipping for me, costs about 25$, so i don't know. I found one from a brand called Ariza with good reviews for 9$ (free shipping), but i don't know if its good or not or if really they are just about all the same lol
The thing is I've heard really great things about the Tech Armor one and that's half the price of Zagg and ZeroLemon... I'm just not sure if I can justify the double price of the screen protector you guys are suggesting.
Personally always had Zagg Extreme screen covers.. not as thick as glass but crystal clear and the feel is perfect for me. Just my two cents. Can't go wrong with Zagg
Balistic glass
I've been using balistic glass since i bought my s5.. it's still good upto now
For me, since I used the phone for a long period of time before I put a screen protector on it, I just don't like the feel of anything but the glass screen protectors. Just my .02

I think if they do, even the glass protector would need to have curve. 2.5D display of Note4/5 or edge display of the Edge variant wouldn't be covered completely otherwise. And even if they come up with something like that, I would assume the price would be too high..
I hope skinomi makes this for the edge +

Looks nice but no brand name to research reviews to see how it well it covers so 25 from a unnamed company that ships directly from China is definitely too much!
Plus paying $25 and you may get the screen protector between now and Halloween.
I got the skinomi screen protector. I guess this is the best selling on amazon for this phone, but i dont recommend it. There are plastic indentations of on the screen, its wet install so no bubble, but its a nightmare to install, cos even if u wet install it, and squeeze out the water with a squeezee, the skin wont stay on the screen.

Waiting for spigen or some other known brand to come up with a curved tampered glass screen protector.
I figured $25 to protect my $850 phone until a better cheaper version is available was worth the chance to me. Trust me I wish there were more options but that is not the case right now

Finally, it will come out with perfect match to the edge+ or something.
The one I ordered shipped today. I also noticed a bunch of new people selling similar tempered glass edge to edge protectors on ebay.
I've also ordered Skinomi and yes,it's wet install and kind of tricky but luckily I was able to have a successful install. It's kind of soft and rubbery feel, but not much that cause worry or distraction. I'm actually loving it.
I've got the same one (skinomi) on my phone. Installation was a breeze. No bubbles or peelings, but I do hate the fact that there are some dust on the edges of the screen protector, none on the screen tho. I also hate the rubbery feeling, but for now it will have to do until I can get my hands on the tempered sp. I almost always go with the Zagg tempered glass, since it features a lifetime warranty.

I would have to Agree i used the Skinomi on my Note 4 edge ,most people couldn't believe I had a screen protector on it it was that hard to see, and the curve on the note4 edge is a lot more of and angle .........just my 2 cent's , just a tip for those that are using any type of wet application I would suggest you get a bowl , like a large salad bowl fill it half way with water and then add a few drop's of dish detergent not too much , it allow's you to get your finger's and the screen protector evenly wet and if you see a hair or a piece of dirt or whatever just pull it off submerge the screen protector to get what ever that was either on the screen or on the protector or the screen and start over again , ever since I saw this tip from somewhere here on XDA it's never failed three different phones and perfection ..........:good:
I just put on the techfilm dry install and it wouldn't show in a picture that's how thin it is. No bubbles full coverage, had to use a flashlight to make sure it was on. Best protector I've ever used on any phone. Oh and no rubber feeling like I've heard about others
