This thing has actually worked on all my mini-HDMI devices (tf700,razrMAXXhd,DroidX2)
I still can't believe I can walk into an office depot, give them fifteen dollars and walk out with this thing.
mind blown.

it passes full resolution HDCP encoded video without authentication at the display end.
Typically MHL/Mini-HDMI to VGA "adapters" are prohibitively expensive because of the scaling hardware they contain, or they only work on certain devices.
Tegra 3 and Mali400 shouldn't be compatible with the same adapter, but in this case, it works.
Unfortunately, this is why MHL/Mini-HDMI ports are hard to find on newer devices. I must be the only person on the planet that actually uses these features on a regular basis to do more than just watch a video on a consumer television.
You seem pretty happy with your TF700. Would you say it performs exceptionally after installing CM 10.2?
Whats the exact name/model of this dongle? I'd like to get one. And can you get the sound via the headphone connector of the tablet while using this dongle? that'd be pretty nice

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good low priced headset for the 360. Or if you know one that works for the PS3 and 360 that would be good.

I don't know if the 360 uses Bluetooth but any Bluetooth headset will work with a ps3.

Turtle beaches. I think I have the x 12's,but I'm not sure.
Make sure you youtube the video on how to use them simultaneously with hdmi output. You have to use the composite cable that came with your xbox, and you need to pop off the plastic housing on the xbox end with a butter knife to get it all to fit. This way you dont have to spend any extra $$ on various cables.
Duely blundered from my thunderdolt.
Not saying Amazon reviews are the most legit, but the X12's have better reviews than the AX120's. I've never bought from the site that I linked by the way, I just saw them there for cheap. And like someone already mentioned, you have to use the composite cable that came with the XBox if you use HDMI. If you don't use HDMI, don't worry about anything. If you do, you need to cut off the plastic "flap." I just used a knife, took my time, and cut it off. Now I can plug in the composite and HDMI at the same time.
Once you use a decent set of headphones, you'll never want to use the stock headset again.

Now that I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, I'm thinking of turning my Skyrocket into a google TV. I have the MHL/HDMI cable, which I ordered from ebay. The picture on the phone is mirrored to the TV.
Yesterday I tried playing a Netflix video (using the official netflix app) from the phone onto the TV. But it was very pixelated. When I did the same thing from a laptop using the HDMI out the picture quality was aaaaa lot better.
Anybody else know why this might be?
Has anybody else used or using their skyrocket as their entertainment hub? How is it working out for you?
Since the skyrocket only has 480p netflix only sends that down. So that 480p is stretched across your tv it doesnt look good.

A suggestion:
You'll be much better off by selling your Skyrocket and buying one of the Android TV sticks. They go dirt cheap, even the dual-core ones, and you'll get decent performance, full HD, tablet interface, and if you pick carefully - even Linux can be booted on it. And you'll stay with extra $$$ in your pocket.
Or you could buy a Google TV just saying lol.

I was wondering if there are and android sticks with a scart connector.
Since I have a very old TV and getting one with a HDMI connector isn't an option for me I was hoping if there is a product like this.
If So, what are the costs of this product.
The ones I've seen So far are all HDMI.
I am aware that there are HDMI to SCART cables but they are a bit to expensive.
Thanks in advance

no offence dude but if you can afford a pc, an internet connection, a mini pc, power to power it, you can afford to buy a $2/£2 hdmi-scart adaptor from ebay :good:

Yes, that cable will not work - converting HDMI to scart is not that simple. Best bet is to get the stick with the a/v output I mentioned above....

i was really just using that link as an example , the proper cable should be there somewhere, and are you sure it wont work? im sure ive used a xbox360 converter before with no probs on an old tv at my sisters
edit: if the cable above is wrong as mentioned then jetfin's option probably seems the easiest route.
however i cant find any support for this device so if you do run into a problem which lets face it with these sticks you probably will at some point, theres not gonna be much help.
also something to note :c+p'd from the website
"""""Now on to the less than stellar bit. The camera. We were all excited because we thought we’d found a bargain basement way to add Skype video calling to our TV (compared to products like the Logitech Skype camera which costs hundreds of dollars). But to our dismay Skype refused to work with the dongle, and not only Skype. We tried Tango too, and even Google Talk failed to load. So it looks like there’s either a) a bug in the firmware or b) the thing is designed not to let you access the camera via a video chat application.
It totally ruins the point of having a camera in the device, what else are you going to do, photograph (or video) yourself sitting on the couch? Not really, eh?"""""
360 outputs in interlaced too. I'm guessing you would need to have a deinterlacer too. There is a hdfury that converts to VGA then you could VGA> to rgb thru a deinterlacer prob only cost couple of hundred quid lol

I would try the local Best Buy store.
I'm not 100% sure, but maybe nexus7 cable can work. And if that can be confirmed, you're more likely to find that at staples, best buy, etc.

Note that you still need the TF charger - with standard 5 volt USB, it may take more than 24 hours for a full charge.

I don't know for sure, but I don't think the N7 has the same charger, since I believe that uses a regular micro USB.
Why wouldn't you check caseen. They seem to have TF chargers in stock on their website.

Ahh, thanks for confirming.
I wasn't entirely sure and was basing it on the fact that n7 also built by Asus and that my zagg power supply will only charge my phone and not tablet.
Only after buying zagg power and trying to use it unsuccessfully for tablet, I saw it said online that it won't work with n7, but they didn't mention our tablets, so I thought same cables etc. Oh well, good to know. Now I've just realized I've never seen (irl) or played with a n7 yet, wow.
Good luck op!

I haven't found any local stores that carry any accessories when my cat chewed up mine. Amazon has a few different brands. There is one that houses the wires in rubber instead of the normal plastic that I liked. Its also 6' long which is nice.
A year or two back I recall an ad, I believe it was Samsung, for a phone that had a projector function. The ad showed young people displaying video on a caravan I think. Don't see that anymore, what happened? Technology too poor? Never caught on with consumers? Why? Just curious.

The phone would become bulky if there is a projector function in it. Plus, no one seems really interested in that feature in Mobile phones, maybe that's why they've stopped it.
The phone you talk about is called the Samsung Galaxy Beam. The phone doesn't have a big audience and not many people are not yet interested in this type of tech and after personally holding one in my hands it is way to bulky and fat compared to the newer phones.

How well did the projector in it work? I thought that it might not produce enough luminance to be useful and that is why it tanked.

Well it was okay as I only got to play around with it for a few minutes in a shop. But it seemed that the luminance was a bit too low when you are in a lot up area but overall seemed to be a good phone.

Never saw that one - I've seen that Brookstone has a pocket project for iPhone. Not sure how good it is though. Looks a little bulky for carrying around in your pocket though.
There was a surge in pocket projectors main manufacturer was Pico I believe. The Lumens output were limited but, in darkened areas they are OK but, expensive in comparison. A decent small projector around £400 the Pico projectors around £250. For the size and capabilities they weren't really justified in many people's opinions.
As for the phone, as already advised it is the Galaxy Beam. I think though it was only available in South Korea
