My Samsung Galaxy Fit version was 2.3.4. I wanted to update it to 4. I found Cyanogen Mod but it didn't support my phone. I rooted my phone properly.:victory: I installed TWRP and flashed this ROM(from xda-developers.com) and Google Apps from the same post. Everything went OK. Now, when I turn on my phone, Cyanogen Mod blue splash screen shows and two blue screens are spinning. After some searching I found that I got a loop. Now I cannot do anything with the phone. One of solutions that came to my mind is to flash a recovery(stock) ROM, but I can not find it anywhere for my model. The original, stock version is 2.3.3. I updated it via settings in Android.
What can I do now? To sum things up:
I have got a Cyanogen Mod loop
I cannot find stock image for my phone model
I do not know what to do!:crying:
EDIT: I found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42924000#post42924000. I will try it and post what happened.
Hmmm i think you must find stock rom. Stock rom for galaxy fit is dxkt7.

I flashed CWM 5 via Odin and reverted back to stock via CWM(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42924000#post42924000).
Now, I have a backup, if anything goes wrong, and I have version 2.4.6. Gingerbread.
You wrote I can flash stock ROM via Odin. I am just curios, how to do that? I have Odin multi downloader 4.42. I am asking this because I could flash Android 4 from there instead of CWM or TWRP(never again).
Anyway, thank you for answers.

The rom u flashed is slightly modified(for cwm) with some tweaks which r not there in samsung stock roms(like max upto 787Mhz, init.d tweaks etc...) However, the real original way to flash Gingerbread for galaxy fit is via Odin. Android 4 isn't officially supported for FIT so it's only custom supported in the form of CM10.x custom roms & hence, can't b flashed via odin.

I am new to the nexus s , but have been a heavy galaxy s user. I noticed that flashing roms etc is a bit different from what I am used to on my galaxy s .. I did not see any thread containing stock kernels ... So how can I return to stock after I have flashed another kernel ? I have installed the voodoo kernel with ext4, sound and colour enhancement .. But suppose I want to return to my stock gri54 kernel , how can I do that ? Have read allready about fastboot etc etc but then I should have an .img of the stock kernel , correct ?
By flashing back to stock rom, you will get back your stock kernel automatically.

So by flashing back to stock ROM via recovery, does it mean that it will be locked and un-rooted as factory default [like when you first purchase the device]?

The Odin package can put you back to stock rom too.
So what you are saying there is no way to flash only the stock kernel ?? Very confusing .. I am able to flash just another kernel using fastboot but I am not able to flash back the stock kernel using fastboot ? Odin is a last resort method .. haven't seen fastboot .img files of the stock here in the forums ?
I'm not sure if anybody posted any stock kernel file in the forums. If there is any, you can easily download it and install via recovery or fastboot.
Otherwise you can only revert to stock roms because stock roms links are easily available through the forums or samsung firmware website.
Or after you have failed everything, may want to consider Odin. It seems to touch the phone at a lower level compare to other techniques.
follow the instruction on this
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9023.htm
work great for me after all
Samsung i9023
Good luck
Yeah , I also mentioned odin allready .. Used it a lot when I had my galaxy s .. Just thought that since the nexus s can use fastboot I could get rid of odin ..
I am also not used that all has to be flashed to achieve a single goal .. On the galaxy s I could flash the kernel separately and also stcok kernel were easy to find .. I think it is kind of a hassle to reflash a whole rom just because you want stock kernel back ..
Voodoo has stated that his kernel is 'almost' stock, with only voodoo addon to the pure stock kernel. Maybe you can use that?
Some news here?
Hi there!
I was also wondering about this same situation. Let's say I want to stick with the original ROM and try some non-stock kernels. After some tests I know there is an OTA available but I don't want to backup and restore everything (using TB or similar). From what I understood I wouldn't be able to flash stock kernel (in other words, back to full stock ROM + Kernel) and apply OTA update...
What if we just flash boot.img from a nandroid of stock rom+kernel?

The file I posted is already flashable through CWM. Just wipe dalvik first. Of course make sure you have a Nandroid backup just in case.
Hi,
sure, I noticed that. What I was wondering was how to get this flashable kernels. From the stock ROM full installation file? From a nandroid backup of a stock ROM??

Hi,
Please help me.
I tried to install CWM in my galaxy ace using "Odin".
I followed correct steps and odin showed "pass" at last.
but now my phone is not booting.
It will load upto "GALAXY Ace GT-S5830....." scree and nothing is happening after that.
I am not able to boot into recovery also now.
How I can recover my phone back?
Please help me.
Flash everything back to stock with Odin. You should make sure repartition is checked before flashing. When you try to flash cwm through Odin, redownload the files and try again.

Thanks for replying, but sorry to ask you one more doubt (may be too n00b qn.)
what do you mean by "flash everything"?
where I can get all those files for Ace?
Sorry took soo long to reply, was at work. Can you post a link to the method you used to flash cwm? Just want to make sure I point you to the correct firmware.
I have used the method at
acetips.wordpress.com/2011/10/01/install-cwm-ace-froyo
As it didn't worked, I used some other "ops" file, which brick my phone.
Can I use any samsung upgrade method ( as I have done earlier in my sonyericsson w8 using SEUS) ?
Or how can I fully flash and make it alive?
Try this...!
Hey no phone dies so easily, so, follow the process mentioned in the given link:

But now I am not able to get into the recovery mode. will it get fixed after flashing the latest firmware?
What is the really working method to get CWM recovery for ACE?
It should work again if u flashed the stock because the stock recovery is included in the stock rom =)
please help me.
my phone is still not turning on, even after flashing stock firmware using odin.
How can i get it back?

-I live in egypt and I bought my tab from the US, this rom is for the US so should I flash it normally? (will I get the OTA updates)?
-should I backup my data and so? (sorry it's my first device)
You should get ota's as its 100% stock. As far as flashing it no need to backup anything. You won't have root or cwr to use your backup. Flash via Odin and you should be good to go.

reverting back to Stock from CWM all you need is Odin and stock firmware which able to obtain from sammobile.
flash is with stock ROM via Odin will bring everything back to stock. *after flash, make sure swipe your data & cache OTHERWISE it will stuck and become boot-loop.

I did flash the stock ROM and recovery via odin, and it worked perfectly, thanks for the info thought because once I forgot to wipe data and it was stuck on boot-loop till I reached recovery mode.

Can't really have stock recovery AND root... seeing as you install root via CWM
Besides you can do way more with CWM over stock.

Do you have a P5100 , P5110 or P5113 ? It don´t sounds like!
If not - don´t use this files! This might brick your device!
If you don´t have a P51XX you need to find a Stock-Recovery or Custom-Recovery for your Device.
If you have P51XX download and flash a StockRom - or extract the recover.img inside the XXX_HOME.tar.md5 and make it Odin-Flashable using this tool and flash it with Odin.

I've been on Carbon 1.8 for some time (AOKP and CM10 before that) and wanted to go back to stock rooted TouchWiz for a while. So I downloaded the de-odexed rooted Stock VRBF1 from Scotts ROMs.
I flashed this from TWRP 2.5.0.0 and the phone would not boot beyond the "Samsung Galaxy S III" screen. This was a clean flash, I factory reset the phone and also manually cleaned the dalvik, cache, system and data from advanced wipe options.
I tried this again about twice with the same result.
I then tried a Stock VRALG7 zip that I had on my computer with the same result.
Finally, I gave up and decided to flash Carbon again, and the exact same thing happened - The phone won't boot beyond the "Samsung Galaxy S III" screen.
I can access Recovery just fine and even connect via adb. One thing I noticed was that when I am in TWRP and explore the files, /system is empty and has only one folder (bin)
At this point my phone is pretty much dead in the water and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks !!

Use Odin to flash the stock tar then reroot. There's a no-wipe stock rom thread in the dev section that has a few stock images. If you have issues flashing those images then I firmly suggest using a tar that wipes /sdcard. You can download those on Samsung Update website for our phone model (SCH-I535).

They might have some as well, I'm mobile and at work so I can't check for you. Make sure the tar specifically states it's for "d2vzw" or SCH-I535. If someone else can help out please do. Hello,
today I tried to put CWM on my old Galaxy fit using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19204364 so then I could upgrade it and then install a ROM, I did the Odin Multidownloader process and it looked like it worked, but I wanted to test it and I didn't know how to use the CWM I just installed, so I went to ROM Manager and from there I tried to do the CWM Recovery option and when it started to reboot, it got like stuck in the Samsung logo and some kind of bootloop, the only thing I can do is press the home-volume up-power button so I can go to the Downloading... screen.
What can I do?

Which version of cwm did you install?
Installing Stock Roms
First, download the stock rom of your choice from samfirmware.com
Then download beni.ops and Odin Multidownloader
Remove the sim card and memory card of your phone, and put it in download mode
Next, run Odin, and connect your phone to your windows computer. Odin should respond as detected. Then, select “Ops” as beni.ops. (Doing this would disable all other fields except “One Package”)
After this, select your desired stock rom in “One Package”.
Do not alter any other option other than those mentioned, let them remain as they are.
Make sure that the color of “COM PORT MAPPING” is yellow, and then click “Start”.
Odin will start giving different responses, and the timer in Odin would also start…now all you have to do is wait till Odin completes flashing (You will get a message “Pass”, usually within 10 minutes)
Note: Do not disconnect you phone while the process is on, and till you get that “Pass” message.
After this, it is optional but advised that you reboot into recovery mode and wipe data, otherwise you *may* face bootloops.[/list]

Question 1: can you enter recovery!? By holding power + home buttons.
Question 2: are you sure you downloaded the correct ROM from the Samsung ROMs website (the correct ROM means the latest link from your carrier).
Edit: don't forget to take out the USB cable after the flashing is done.
Depending on your answer:
Try to redo the procedure without installing custom recovery (just flash thru download mode via Odin the downloaded ROM for your device) and see if it boots (first boot takes a long time so just wait.
If you're trying to install ONLY the cwm recovery be sure you are getting the one meant for beni (other will not work).

Ok, sorry, I forgot to give an update during the weekend (and sorry, I was interested... but I didn't have time to give the update ) :
1.- I wanted to get CWM 5 and I tried to reboot, but I got that bootloop (I anyways wanted the CWM 6.0.4.5 version because I heard it is better)
2.- I finally got the stock rom using Sammobile.
3.- I flashed the stock rom to get rid of that annoying bootloop.
4.- I got CWM 5 with Odin
6.- Updated CWM to the 6.0.4.5 version.
7.-I got Cyanogenmod 10.1.4 version
I actually was able to get into recovery mode, but the thing is that I didn't know how to get into it... lol
I am doing this as an experimet because I don't use the Fit as a phone, so... what should I do next?

Anyways; thank you all for your help, ahmetakin and johnny.

Well now on your phone is 6045 recovery which works ONLY with Cyanogenmod 11. Go to yajnab's thread and download the alpha5. Put it on your SD and flash though recovery mode (recovery mode : keep power + middle button "home" pressed until you enter recovery mode). Wipe data, cache and dalvik (Dalvik from advanced). Press install from SD card and navigate to where you put the zip downloaded earlier. Select it.... Wait... Wait.... After that wait some more... Then you can enjoy CM11 aka KitKat.
If you want a different ROM (cm7 - cm10.2) flash an older custom recovery and do the same as above.
Flashing is simple and practice makes it perfect. After all you have a Fit for spare.
Remember that different ROMs might have different flashing instructions so ALWAYS read the OP in the ROMs thread.
Enjoy!

Have you installed your ROM using 6045 cwm recovery!? Or you installed the 6045 recovery after installing ROM!?
Yajnab says:
Code:
This Recovery will only support Ext4, Ext3 or Ext2 formatted Custom ROMs.
No RFS support has been included here.
So dont come with the issues when having any stock ROM or stock based RFS custom ROM installed.
The Device wont boot up
So, honestly I didn't tried to install other rom than cm11 on this recovery.
