Hello
I'm looking for a way to have an app record my input. Not the regular input, touch input. Isn't there something like MotionEvent to generate screen touches?
I'm not looking for actual app help, only to find out if this is possible.
Can I program an app to generate screen touches? Such as to unlock a lockscreen by automatically dragging the unlock button?
I would be using this in a testing hack if possible.

Via ADB is possible.
Some more useful info
Like tuning_xx said, adb is the correct way to generate screen presses. Your app will need root access though!

No, it should work without adb. Use AccessbilityService to do that.
you can capture touches, refactor fields, ..

Like a sequence you enter instead of a lock pin or the unlock thing....
Is that even possible? I don't program but that would be sweet

omg I love that idea!
Good idea
Now to see it implemented
I have lots of free time at work maybe I could learn how to do this.
Hello guys,
I'm looking for an app that would automatically unlock my lockscreen. I tried the "myLock Auto Unlock" but it lags when I try to automatically unlock the lockscreen.

There's an app called NoLock, which disables the lockscreen completely.

Featured TODAY from Lifehacker, what a coincidence :
http://lifehacker.com/5713691/no-lock-turns-off-androids-slide+to+unlock-gesture
If you're entirely confident in your pockets, your purse, or your butt being unable to accidentally dial people or launch loud apps accidentally, go ahead and grab No Lock. The Android app simply disable's Android's slider-based lock screen.
And that's the only thing it does, really, replacing the usual slide gesture with a simple button to tap. As Download Squad points out, the very nifty Tasker app can disable the lock screen, and even do so under just certain times or conditions (among many other things), but this app requires much less work.
No Lock Turns Off Android's Slide-to-Unlock GestureIt's a free download for Android phones, available in the Market, and you can scan the QR code at left to grab it.

zMooth works on rooted Droid's with rooted android 2.2+.
zMooth lets you use gestures to mimic your device's hardware keys (back, home, menu and power(in Pro)), you will be able to use very intuitive gestures to navigate your device.
zMooth is unobtrusive and uses minimum amount of screen space but very easy and intuitive to use. If you use for couple of days you won't even think about using the buttons.
After you install the app you will see a blue area at the bottom of the screen, swipe left on this area to go back, swipe right for menu, gesture a up-arrow(^) for home and gesture a lightning strike/thunderbolt to power off. Please check the screen shots and video for more info.

Support is built-in to the app, "Preferences->Help" will resolve most issues. If not resolved just contact me through "Preferences->Help->Contact Support" and I will be happy to resolve any issues.
Thanks.

This is a great app! Sometimes it has trouble picking up back and search, but that's only because it will only pick up gestures to a certain degree of crapyness.

Thanks for feedback, updated OP with info.
Still using this and just bought the pro version so I.could.customize more. Now to get my button lights to stay off.
EDIT: Really like the turn screen off with the paid version. Don't have to use any of the hard buttons anymore, I don't use the search except when in stock recovery.

I'm using this app since the first versions and now I can't live without it!
I have just installed in my galaxy tab and it runs like a charm!
Five stars in the market!
Thanks!
For me, a perfect solution (after trying Button Savior and Softkeys). I came from the Incredible, and quickly learned to dislike the hardware buttons of the DroidX.
Zmooth solves the problem and really speeds up operations. Stable and configurable, too.
Hey guys, anyone aware of an app that I could activate via a screen gesture or combo of hardware keys/widget that will allow me to quickly do that gesture or button combo and will hide all of my texts, and emails, and photos?
On my jailbroken iphone I was able to use Activator and an app called HideEmAll from cydia to swipe over my notification bar and it would hide all of that data until I swiped again and entered my password. I haven't found anything similar for Android is anyone aware of such software or an alternative to doing what I am asking? It was also nice that it simply vibrated for a second so I knew it activated it but Noone else could tell anything happened.
Thanks

You should try app locker.
hmm well maybe not perfect but try hide it
aka audio manager http://www.appbrain.com/app/hide-it-pro/com.smartanuj.hideitpro
just found something called shady sms looks good for you and it had a list of in the description Blackbook, SPC, Blacklist, Redlist, My Calculator, Private SMS/MMS Box, Fox Private Message, Horizon, Locky, Hide Text & Call logs, Conspirator, or CATE Call and Text Eraser
good luck ^_^
Thanks for the suggestions friends. I have looked into both of those as well and do what I'm trying to do.
I think maybe there is not a very close app for what I'm wanting by the way of activating it discretely from the lock screen. ie. By way of screen gesture or hardware key combos. Or perhaps I should try the above suggestions in conjunction with widget locker. Hmm will try later today and report back!
Thanks again

Hey people... I'm using Liquid w/ Apex and wanted to see if anybody can create a way to have my home desktop screen to automatically become current once I lock my phone.
If this already exists through a setting please clue me in.
Let me know... Thanks in advance.
