So my display has been completely destroyed. Along with the AMOLED LCD. I cannot access my phone. I want to connect it and project the screen onto my desktop and the only thing holding me back right now is not having USB debugging enabled. I was wondering if anyone knew how to enable it when it is connected to the computer.
Thanks.
Unfortunately, you can't enable USB debugging via ADB, only from the UI (or via an on-device shell). That function is what allows you to use ADB.
Ah. Damn. I've read that as well. I was just hoping for another option. So there is no way to display my phone's screen somewhere?

Not sure if it is supposed to be disabled on purpose or not.
Assuming you're a local admin and it's a windows machine, you can enable the USB-controller device by going in the control pannel -> devive manager. Locate the USB controller and if disable, right-click on it, enable.
That's also a good way of "reseting" your device if you encounter errors with it.
Yeah, its windows xp sp3... and required hrdwares are also present in the machine.. but it doesn't show any "usb controller" in device manager list(supposed to be there in last)...I installed the chipset drivers in that pc...successfully... but then too not showing the PD.
There are a handful of ways to disable usb in a computer. Easy way would be to unplug it directly from the inside of a PC. It's also possible to disable it through the pc's bios. And it can also be disabled by disabling the driver like the one mentioned above. Also it could be disabled through registry and group policy if on windows machine. There are alot more ways to do it that I didn't mention.
Thanks Riyal, i'll be trying that through bios and..i'll chck if hardwre is unpuged...
Tell u nxt day..
I would first update the usb drivers. I dont know if its your computer or one in a lab or whatever but if its running XP. Its a good chance the drivers havent been updated in awhile. When you say disabled, do you mean when you plug in a usb stick nothing happens or do you see in device manager that its disabled. Also it would only be relative to the motherboard controller if your using a front access usb port, as a back usb port is built in, have you tried other ports? Lastly there is always the bios, bios is probably hasnt been updated in awhile if this is not your computer, but make sure any usb controllers and or legacy usb devices are enabled.

Yes, the correct answer and very helpful ...
Hi,
So the screen and touch on my OP6 are broken, and i want to get the data from the phone, but since i haven't got USB debugging turned on and i didn't authorize ADB, i can't do anything with it. I want to connect it to my PC and mirror the screen, and for that i need USB debugging or ADB.
So is there a way to enable USB debugging or to authorize ADB without touching the screen?
I've bought an OTG cable, but the phone won't recognize my mouse or keyboard.
Thanks!
I think there's no way to enable USB debug without go to developer options, only thing to do is to change the display, even temporally to get your data back... Do you have google backup disabled?
You can probably try connecting a USB mouse.
So, I have a Google Pixel 3a with a completely broken screen (black), and I would like to get my files off of the phone using usb debugging and adb, possibly even vysor. My problem is that while i already had usb debugging on, I can't allow it because of the confirmation. I thought of using a otg adapter and a keyboard, but my phone has to be plugged into my pc for usb debugging, so that's not going to work. Any ideas?
I have a poco x2 with screen completely broken and without any display. I just want to use scrcpy to backup the data on this phone, hence I need to tunr on usb debugging blindly via keyboard

I am trying to use this only but scrcpy requires to enable usb debugging which is currently disabled. I am looking to for ways to enable it blindly via keyboard navigation.

Try connecting hdmi to ur phone to an external monitor, idk whether it will share screen directly or there's any setting. But u can give a try
I have a OnePlus Nord N100 that I dropped off a ladder... I ordered a new phone (screen replacement seemed to not be worth the hastle on such a cheap phone when replacement kit was 60$) but would like to re-purpose the device for something as I am very against e-waste.
I would like to make it a security camera. If I can get ADB shell access it should be possible to install termux and run some linux command line utilities for this (i.e. motion and rclone to upload).
Problem is that without screen I cant login and turn on usb debugging. This phone uses usb 2.0 so I cannot use an hdmi display and mouse.
Is their any way I can get usb debugging enabled? I would prefer to be able to get my files off the device but most of it was backed up. Resetting is fine. I would even be down to try to re flash it with a serial programmer or something. Would their perhaps be any serial programming pads I could solder onto?

If you did not have USB debugging enabled in system settings, there is no external way to enable it. Fix the screen, otherwise, the device won't be any good for an secondary uses other than using it as a paperweight or a doorstop.
