I'm currently using XenonHD v11 with Sultan kernel r24.5. While updating certain apps, my phone freezes completely in the "installing" stage and I end up having to pull the battery to make it reboot. I've tried waiting for the apps to finish updating but then my phone reboots on its own after a few minutes.
This doesn't happen with all apps, but it occurs almost every time with certain apps such as Skype. Formatting cache and dalvik cache from recovery sometimes makes it work properly. At other times, uninstalling an app and then installing it again works.
What causes this and how do I fix it?

My Galaxy 7 tab plus just started random rebooting for new reason. I can
turn in on and usually around 30 mins or so it will reboot. I won't even touch it or start an app. It just reboots. I removed everthing from the andriod market and it still reboots.
Anyone else having this issue? Wifi is on, GPS is off
It also happened to me, if you have recovery modified execute a wipe cache partition, and wipe dalvick cache ,or if you continue to have problems making a wipe date/factory reset.
Hi
I'm loving this paranoid android rom (2.53), which I just installed a couple of days ago. Since yesterday I'm having a weird problem though:
Every time I reboot the device hangs at the PA loading screen. I've figured out that rebooting into recovery and clearing the dalvik cache allows me to boot, but then a message comes up saying 'Android updating... optimizing apps', and it goes through and optimizes them all...
So, I can't reboot without this issue.
WTF?
Thanks!
current version are 3.56... you might be using the one that have that bug in its kernel
go to this thread to download a new one.

So I'm running Sultan's CM 13 rom and my phone just randomly turned off while I was using it (on charge), and when it rebooted, it said that it was optimizing apps. I decided to leave the phone on charge and do something else, and when I come back, it restarts again and does the optimizing apps thing again. I can't even boot into safe mode either, if you were going to tell me to. I've tried wiping the Dalvik-Cache and Cache from TWRP, but nothing's happened.
Should I just factory reset my phone at this point?
Just try to clean flash Sultan CM13.

Hi there,
I went back to stock some days ago. Worked fine so far. OTA to 1.56.401.81.
When I reboot the phone, it ist starting to optimize the Apps again, like it does after an update. When it ist done, it reboots again and begins optimizing the apps again.
Only thing I can do here is reboot to recovery and delte dalvik cache. (also tried data and cache). Still after a reboot it is looping again.
Any idea what I can do about this?
I found the Problem. IT Happens After I disable the Google app in the settings. Could Not find a Solution exept of leave IT enabled.
Hello,
Since June 2020, I have been facing erratic issues with my oneplus 7.
- Started with a reboot loop. Did a factory reset, things were ok for a day.
- After that the phone randomly reboots atleast 2-3 times a day. Factory resetted many times. With a hope that beta build may solve the issue, installed BETA software from oneplus. But no luck. Problem continues.
- Recently noticed that sometimes, all of a sudden my contacts disappear. Wiping cache or disabling and reenabling Google contact sync brings them back.
- Wipe Cache data doesnot help in resolving this issue of random reboots
- Occassionaly apps like Whatsapp, Phone dialer or Launcher crashes. Wipe cache temporarily resolves the issue, but it again comes in a day or two.
I have not installed any unauthorised apps and all my apps are from verified google play store...
Totally frustrated with the problem of the phone...
Anyone has any luck in getting a solution to this problem?
Try latest open beta
Thanks for the reply, but I am already on the latest beta
This is because maybe the last ota installed (before this problem started) was not done porperly. Try full reset your phone and flashing the rom again through fastboot or you can try going back to h2os (which is the main rom when all the OnePlus phones are made with then switched to o2os) and then switch to o2os which will be a clean flash. You can find the procedures in the forums. I faced your problem a lot because I switch roms a lot and tried out these which solved mine
