Play store "403 error" - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I just got a refurbished s3 from verizon..I forgot to save my titanium backups. And ever since I set up this phone I have not been able to download any if the apps that I paid for in the play store.it is giving me a message that says the app cannot be downloaded due to an error 403...I have looked around online and done all the steps I could find that have worked for other people having this issue.. ( wiped data, restored stock operating system as I was rooted, wiped data for play store app, uninstalled updates for play store, and I also removed my payment options from my Google wallet.) I even called Verizon and went through their troubleshooting and they transfered me to Google customer service. They were not able to resolve the issue either, and now I have been playing email tag with their advanced tech support team for about a week..they have not been able to help either.. If anyone else has had this issue and been able to resolve it I would really appreciate any help you could give me..

wrong thread. you'll get more hits in QandA or troubleshooting.

Did you delete phonesky.apk from system then reboot wipe caches reinstall then reboot again? I had that issue before and it worked for me.

Cant purchase Apps in market

I get ERROR "an error occurred. Please try again." when i try to buy apps on the market. I updated all of my contact and payment info at google. I can buy apps online and have them sent to my phone. I read through a bunch of different post and nothing seems to help.... I am running Octaine Team Acid's awesome rom which is 2.3.5, not that that should matter. Since i went to that ROM the phone has been better than ever...but i need to be able to buy apps on the market from my phone.. any ideas?
Try clearing the market cache and data...from the manage applications menu.

can you clear the market cache and data. then push the new market (posted in the apps section). once you do that clear data again. go into cwm and also clear cache and fix permissions. then try again. if still nothing, it is a problem with your google account. may want to resync it to your phone.
Worked perfectly! Thanks!

Error processing purchase

I have been getting this error in the play store everytime I try to download an app free or otherwise. I have tried clearing the data and clearing the cache and I'm still getting it. Running RG2x MIUI and Trinity. Suggestions?

Check your credit card information on your account. My amazon app store was doing the same thing to me, free or not, until I realized the card I had on the account had been expired since January.

Just a thought. I realized this started for me the same day I added another phone to my account. Of course the other phone is for somebody else with a completely different Google account, but this is the only variable I can think of. Do you happen to be on a family plan or anything like I am now?

No. I have installed Juggernaut 5.0 for my Samsung Galaxy SII. I don't think I had this problem yesterday when it was installed. I've wiped cache, dalvik rebooted and all.

If you don't know, then it doesn't really apply to your situation.
For clarity...cyanogenmod and a lot of the other roms aren't really suppose to include g(oogle)apps. These are the apps developed by Google such as maps, Gmail, play store/market, etc. So when you flash a custom rom like cm7 you also download and flash a zip file which installs these on your phone manually. All done through clockworkmod recovery.
I noticed that basically any of the less-popular apps in the play store can download and install without a problem. Only popular things like angry birds space and some of the other random things I tried seem to have this problem.

What my fellow xda user just said! Do a quick Google search for latest gb Google apps. Download file and flash in recovery think latest is 8/28
Only if you running gingerbread base rom
Edit : http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
There you go.. Put on root of sd card and flash. Cwm will do the rest

Well I can say there are A LOT of forums on here regarding this issue - however they date back to over a year ago. I've uninstalled some system apps (My Account for T-Mobile) and other non-essentials. I don't assume that is an issue. But like I said the past couple days it gets that error. One forum suggested removing the Google account then reinstalling, however my phone says it requires a factory reset for this. I've already spent lots of time customizing my ROM... Any other ideas?

I seem to be able to fix this problem by turning off Wi-Fi, clearing market cache/data, and then restarting the Market/Play Store and setting it up using T-Mobile's network instead of Wi-Fi... Billing to the T-Mobile Bill seems to work fine after that.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 9 Alpha Unable to install/update

I cannot install or update any apps on my phone. I can restore them via titanium, but not through the store. Does anybody have any ideas?
I'm running the release from 29th March 2012 if that helps...
It seems that trying to install the latest gapps has fixed it for now.
But it does keep trying to update Osmos, even though I bought it through the humble bundle instead of the pay store. Any help?
Also, don't know how to edit from the app, hence the double post.

Don't worry about the double post, nothing to worry about here.
You can try to clear the cache from play store, or maybe reinstall it. reboot your phone.
Sometimes it needs a while for the store to recognize all your apps and settings.

There is no possibility to workaround. Games bought outside Google Play will be always marked but cannot be updated.

Known Issue
Yeah - that's one of the known issues on CM9 Alpha unfortunately...
Very difficult to find an ICS ROM for the Desire S where everything "just works".
Thanks for the link, I had the same issue, but after I installed that, the issue is gone!

Error retrieving information from the server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]

Alright guys, the play store spits this error at me constantly. It happens when i download apps from the play store. It says "Error retrieving information from the server [RPC:S-5:AEC-0]". Just to clarify, things I've already tried: wiping data of play store and play service frameworks, wiping dalvik and cache, deleting my host file and readding my Google account. I've added another account and it downloaded apps flawllessly so it must be my main google account. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hmm, odd. What version of the Play Store are you using? Which rom?

I'm dealing with this same crap. I've tried every conceivable permutation of wipes, Google account, flashing a different ROM, etc. Still nothing. I'm open to suggestions.

Hello folks
Having the same problem on 3 devices Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy but the old market app on an HTC Desire onOxygen Gingerbread is OK.
The Googleplay web page "MyAndroidApps" link is permanently borked for me. "an error has occured"
But if you go to the store link for /store/account
You can at least see what applications you have, just not which device they are on.
Still exchanging emails with Google support....
I have the same issue and nothing I've tried works. Been with Google support and they have no idea why it happens or how to fix it. Lovely

worst: all my purchased apps show as not purchased and my device is not listed in GPlay's page.
Sorry guys, I'm not S 3 users. I google the error message and got here.
Is it happened to all device?
My device is Galaxy Nexus.
I can't open 'my apps' on play store both on pc or play store app on my phone.
I can download apps, but can't restore. Just changed to another custom ROM and can't restore.
Is it google's fault?
It must be. If I add my account to another phone, I get the error there as well. I had a backup before the error got me but have 30 apps I can't update.

Hi guys. Had the same problem when flashing bones rom. Few times actually. Basically, move anything you want to save to your sd card or computer and then do a full format in recovery. Then reflash and do startup over wifi and not data. If that doesn't work, go flash your stock backup and then flash from there. If you don't have a backup of stock, just Odin to stock with a stock Samsung rom from the development forum and flash your rom again. Trust me I had this happen to me like 3 times. Same error. And if it works, go to your Google account and de-authorize the old gs3's from previous roms (it will show as SCH-I535).
EDIT: MAKE SURE YOU DO A CLEAN INSTALL AFTER REVERTING TO STOCK OR IF YOU HAVENT TRIED THAT YET.
Edit 2: I'm pretty sure this is a error on Google server dealing with your phone switching to a "new" phone suddenly or moving to a newer version of android (4.2) or reverting to an older version (4.1).
Edit 3: Last resort would to be to install the update before MD3 and then OTA to unroot and the root all over again and then flash. Then if you want, go back to MB1. Although flashing MD3 this way usually prevents problems with the camera.

Use Titanium Backup to delete Google Play Services and then reinstall it from the play store. You can also back it up in Titanium Backup if you want, but don't restore it unless you have to. If it still doesn't work don't give up, try opening the app a couple times

I dont know if I could get an Original ROM VERIZON 4.1.1 so I can flash it using it
then just update it and the problem gonna be solved
I want to try that .............may be it will work
Instead of going to 4.1 1 and then update to 4.1.2, you can use below rom if youhave root

Which is 4.1.2 stock rooted rom.
