This uses a different type of charging and not really QI supported.

hmm so why nexus is charging http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ief1e4r8PIU
and here
This charger is being discussed in another thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380785

I have seen lots of Qi chargers which only support single position charging (meaning that if you lay down your phone slightly away from the center of the pad it will stop charging), and I think that it wouldn't realistically be any better than just plugging it in since it is such a hassle lining it up just right. Now I have been looking around the internet for some time when I came across this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oaXcJZgmp4
Now in this video, what is demoed at the CES 2013 Qi booth are wireless chargers which are not single position meaning you could theoretically place the phone at the corner of the pad and it would still charge. So my question is when and where can I buy one? I currently have a nexus 4 and I would really like to get into the whole wireless charging thing, but I don't want a single position charger.
You tried searching? I'd like this too and it's the only reason it's keeping me buy a charger for it

how about the panasonic QE-TM101? it has a movable charging coil which will detect the location of your phone and move in to charge it no matter how you place your phone.
i've got one and it works great.

Was wondering whether there are things to watch out for when considering wireless charging. The charger supplied with the phone is a normal one as far as i know. Are there any drawbacks when using any wireless charger? Is the hp touchpad touchstone compatible? Any info will be much appreciated

they generally charge slower. maybe twice as long(or a little less than twice as long)
The touchstone probably won't work - it's not Qi compatible.
If you're using the Nexus 4 wireless charger, the good news is that the 5 doesn't generally slide off.
Where can i find a genuine/original/oem nexus 5 wall charger (or travel charger, if you prefer to) for european plugs? i have tried ebay, some shops, retailers but none of them could find me a charger...

Look for Blackberry chargers. I picked up a set of 2 on ebay for $5 w/free shipping. They have 6' cords and charge extremely fast. As fast as my N7 adapter I use at home. I keep one in my pack for school and one at work. (i know you need european but i'm sure they have those too, just note BB has quality accessories)

Not all are the same. Not even close. I've used 2A chargers with a faulty cable that brought it down to 500ma. You will know when you find a good one, it will charge 0-100 in 40 minutes.

Is there any way to quickly check the output amperage from a charger? Can you take accurate readings from the phone with an app or something?

by reading the very fine print on the charger. usually it will say output = xyz.
always want at least 1.0A
official nexus charger is 1.8 i think, samsung galaxy s4 is 2.0A
Official charger is 1.2 A.

Probably is not the best forum to ask, I recently got this wireless charger for my Nexus 4. It looks slick and price wise is very affordable. Should really work fine, but I am having this issue where it says it is charging but after a while, is not charging any at all. I tried it aligning with the induction coil in many positions but so far no luck.
However, my phone is indeed charged with a LG wireless charger. So it is not the phone.
Has anyone use this charger with the Nexus 4?
Possibly not supplying enough power. Compare out power specs of ur stock charger with the new one. Should be on the devices. Could be the plug itself

Did you fix this issue?

And yet, going to the Samsung site is fruitless. Not selling what he is looking for as of 1 minute ago.

samsung sales reps are as clueless as most retail store reps. you can probably find better info by searching the net.
this should work....
http://store.androidcommunity.com/samsung-micro-usb-2a-travel-charger/5A17A14236.htm
-nevermind, its not the same.
The fast charger has dual voltage output. One of the outputs is 9v. I'm fairly sure this is the fast charge element.
Doesn't matter how high the mA rating is for the 5v chargers they will not trigger the fast charge process.
I'm gonna keep looking and post here when I find something!
Scroll to the bottom of this page and there are links to the Quick Charge 2.0 adapter manufacturers.

Step 1 - look at the charger that came with your Note 4. If you don't have one, ask someone who does.
Step 2 - locate part number printed on the charger.
Step 3 - Google said part number.
Is this not it?

Absolutely not. This is just a regular charger. Rapid charging is not the same thing as adaptive fast charging. Rapid charging is just a function of the 2amp output, vs 0.5amp on old school usb chargers. Rapid charging is 4+ years old technology, and is the standard charger you find almost everywhere.
Ah this really sucks, i had one nicked a few days ago in a hostel in Romania, i will settle for unoffical if anyone has found one?
I think these are both on backorder until November 4th, but it gives you a place to start.

The Samsung part # is EP-TA20JWEUSTA
here are some compatible ones in stock
These should be compatible with Samsung's adaptive quick charging and are Qualcomm quick charge 2.0 compatible.

Register your Phone with Samsung.. they will send you a 50% off coupon. Use this to buy as many OEM batteries as you wish.. $20 is cheap for factory battery.
EDIT. Sry I was speaking about the battery rather than the charging cable. But you should also be able to gr the cable from Samsung as well with the coupon code
Are we able to use the Note 4 charger on other things like Bluetooth and such?
Wondering if it would damage them from charging too fast if it does.
